@petiteballerine I am waiting for a fashion Amanda and the new Amanda ausley EN and SA heads. Ordered in June through BJDivas as well, finished my layaway in November last year. Last time I asked they aimed to ship this month. But that's not happening if they don't have a mold even.

 

@rianne Do you have a link for hazelstreetdesigns that you mentioned for pants in the previous thread? I tried to find them on IG and Etsy but only found paper craft.

Does anyone know if the sale dolls can be put on layaway?

 

I’m pretty sure BJDivas will let you do layaway on sale dolls.

 

After much looking and little finding, I decided to just make my own gosh darn eyes. These are extremely rudimentary, mostly just for testing iris sizes, but here's how the first two pairs turned out:



Left is 8mm and right is 7mm. I personally like the 7mm better for Arsene, but even those seem big on Amanda. I have 6mm in the works but the mold didn't cure fully and ripped when I tried to take it out

Here they are side-by-side for comparison:



They're pretty rough and far from perfect, but not bad for a first try if I do say so myself! I'll keep fiddling with them and hopefully have some better tries to share soon!

EDIT: I ended up using the ripped mold to make a quick, terrible cast of the 6mm. The 7mm is on the left, 6mm on the right:



There's definite gapping on either side of the eye in both heads, but I can't decide if I like them better. Amanda is a bit wall-eyed here but I think there's a bit too much white so she looks terrified, but Arsene seems to look fine somehow? I don't know, maybe the resin fumes are making me see things

Thoughts?

@Australiana Exotica BJDivas does layaway on all dolls as far as I know.

@HeyJude I feel you. TBH I'm probably going to start testing eye making this summer when I have more time, and it's all due to the dearth of really good tiny eyes outside of the stuff candyworld makes.

 

BJDivas will. I put Rey Lewis on layaway no problem.

Since I've been out of the hobby for so long I just noticed these guys a couple weeks ago. I'm so glad because the regular Dollshe sizes were waaay too much for me to handle.

 

Nox is still demanding all my attention. XD

@HeyJude do you think you'll start making eyes to sell if you get the sizes sorted out? I know I will always be interested in eyes for these tiny heads. @rianne I agree about CandyWorld eyes being lovely. I have a pair that have never fit a doll, but I can't bear to part with the eyes because they're so pretty.

The weather here is always bad, but so is Lulu.

 

@stuartsmycat I'm definitely considering it! It's a long way off though...I still have some work ahead of me to refine the mold, and I have a lot of practicing to do as far as painting the irises themselves. I originally was just going to make them for my dolls, but there's such a lack of good eyes in the smaller/realistic range that I think it would be a good thing to look into as soon as I feel like they're not turning out horribly

Still playing with Nox over here X3 I did a long and thinky post about styling this guy over at my blog if anyone is interested. It sort of gathers up all the questions I've gotten about what fits and why.

 

Finally can share a photo of my guy. Meet Mercer. He will be based loosely on a character voiced by Matt Mercer the DD Master of Critical Role a podcast I am hooked on. The Gentleman will be a rogue and scoundrel. He will be dressed sort of pirateish like. But definitely not blue. Anyway stage one is of course face up, and in time the blushing and maybe a tattoo. I have arranged for outfit to be made, and slowly he will come together. He is a 44cm Rey Lewis and on the L4 body.

@animemom - He sounds cool. Be sure to post photos when he is done. I'm interested to see him complete. How do you find the L4 jointing?

 

I love it, I can actually get him to cross his legs and touch his face properly. He could vogue if he wanted to. Lol

 

You don't have the lower torso joint and thigh cut joint pop out a lot? What is vogue?

 

I manage issues just fine. Vogue is the dance Madonna created.

 

Did you suede him or no? I was just asking because I have the L4 body but I just couldn't get it to work so it's sitting in a box currently. I didn't mean to offend you or insinuate you couldn't handle it.

 

@xyuemoto What issues do you have with it? I own a L4 too and it doesn’t cause any problems. The two downsides I can think of is that yeah his belly needs rebalancing most times (but is easy to do), and the way the mobility joints work on the upper arms are pretty short-sighted. In fact the arms have given me more trouble than the torso ever has.

I don’t want to devalue your experiences though! I can appreciate how parts of the mobility for L4 can be difficult and awkward. I wonder if it might be a stringing issue for you, mine seems to have the best tension I have ever had a doll arrive with which is lucky and that helps him refrain from popping the joints.

 

No sueding as the silicone buds in arms and such help just fine. I just ignore the belly pop as I figure clothes that are the right fit will cover it. He's not going to be photographed much until he's done. After that just if he makes an appearance in one of my stories.

 

@nattherat - Mainly the lower torso joint and the thigh cut joints. They moved around too much, it made posing and trying to keep him balanced really hard. Maybe it needs to be restrung. The arms aren't that bad on mine.

@petiteballerine - I guess if I put another head on the body I will attempt to tighten the strings.

I mean, there is a history of Dollshe's definition of "discontinued" not aligning with the dictionary definition of the word...

Honestly the only thing that would give me cause for concern about potential discontinuation is only because 50% is his biggest sale yet.

That said, this is DollShe so we will never ever understand the logic.

 

Hey there! I'm gonna be joining you over here now, as I'm waiting for a new (second hand) and unexpected Arsene.
I'm wondering if anyone's gotten Dreaming Tree Eyes for their dolls here, and if so what size/specifications?

 

@TatterPunk Hello, welcome. Congrats on Arsene! I did get some dreaming tree eye chips, but I didn't really like them. I got 8mm eyes. A lot of people do like though!

 

She does paperweight eyes which is what I get. I'm thinking I'll test the 8mm AD3x ones I have for one o my girls in him and then decide if the iris is too smol or not.
I'm super excited about him, he's my first EVER dollshe doll, I've been admiring them forever but the stars just weren't right until now. He's going to be a bit of a small man compared the the others in my group, but his character will be fae, so some slight scale variation is acceptable.

 

@TatterPunk I totally didn't see those PW eyes when I bought my pair. And that's nice she makes tiny eyes too! I have eyes from candyworld/MehiArt in my Ausley Love. Congrats on getting Arsene, he's so handsome!

 

I ordered a Oriental Michael Bowie. This is my first BJD so its all very exciting.

 

It's a little complicated, cause you have to e-mail her and tell her the options you want. She's got it all on her regular website, the etsy is just where she has the stuff she's got in stock which rarely has the PW's. I'm thinking Vincent (AKA my incoming Arsene) will need some daark gray eyes.
Also, how are the Peter Pevensie boots/shoes on the feet of these fellows? I guess I can just check when I get him, but I'm impatient and want to plan RIGHT MEYOW! I know they fit on the FID men's feet nicely so this is why I ask as these fellows have thinner and slightly shorter? feet.

@TatterPunk The Pevensie shoes are large, even on the Khan foot. They may work better on the Dollshe 55cm feet.

I have one pair of oxfords by He-Meife and fits nicely on my boy. ^_^

Hello! I just ran into this shop on Etsy with tiny small-iris eyes and thought it might be of interest to you all. I can't vouch for them right now since I just encountered the shop, but I'll definitely be ordering a pair and let you know how it goes. I like that they seem to have photos of each individual premade pair and the price is similar to the excellent ones I got from AncientTalesBJD a while back.

So, I think I'm addicted now >___>. I am thinking I need to order a fashion Amanda next order period (gotta save up a little money first as I want to get all the extra heads and hands).
Does anyone know if all three (including the sa and en) heads come with their own set of teeth or if you have to change them out between them? Also I would not be opposed to Amanda spam if anyone is able to oblige.

 

@Glace Leau That's actually AncientTales' new shop that sells just her eyes! And I agree - I have several pairs that are just awesome!

@TatterPunk As far as I know, each head comes with its own teeth. I ordered an extra Amanda head and it came with the teeth parts, as did the one that came on the full doll.

 

@HeyJude Oh, fantastic! I know they were gone for a while so I'm excited to see them again and offering some more sizes. That gives me more confidence that they'll be great. I needed a 10mm small iris pair for my other doll project and they happened to have some, but I bought some really light ones to try in my Saint as well.

 

Got my boy all painted and his wig made today! I've still gotta figure out his tattoos and get some different eyes for him (though these are absolutely lovely and will be okay for now). I tried Madchen's AD3x's from Dreaming Tree Studio and I like that size better. Currently he's wearing some of the popovy ones from CandyWorld and I feel like he looks a little too doe-eyed with them. Anyway behold! Vincent Darling!

As I said, I ordered a EN Amanda which I never seen before (I’ve seen twice SA Amanda which is fully closing eyed) so I’m wonder to know if anyone of you has seen before? I was hesitated between EN and SA for a whole night

Also I’ve searched for the waiting time...most of people are not getting their fashion doll within a year...so how long were you guys waiting for your loves? I know it could be really long, specially it’s the promotion period, and Bjdivas told me that my order could even take looooonger as she never seen someone ordered EN or SA Amanda before

 

@Khlovera I have been waiting for my Amanda Beauty special package which includes both those heads since last June, about a month after they were released. As far as I know no one has received the SA or EN heads yet.
When I ordered Ausley Love in August 2017 I waited 8 months. So it's hard to say how long it will be.

 

What size did you get the Oxford shoes in? If possible could you perhaps share a picture of them on your boy?

 

They are for 19" Peter Pevensie / Athletic doll: 70mm long and 25mm wide
Tomorrow I'll try to take some pictures to show them.
