DollShe craft 28M and 26F Fashion Pose 44/41 cm size - Part 2

Dec 19, 2015

    1. Has anyone seen Rey Lewis yet? Even on Google there don't seem to be many photos so far. I guess my order back on October is way down the track yet.

    3. It shouldn't take as long for Rey Lewis to ship, since he's just a new head sculpt. Well, not close to a year, anyway. :whee:

I received a shipping notice for the fabric (fine wool suiting, cotton voile, silk) and tiny buttons I ordered. . . hopefully it will be here next week. I have some silk kimono sleeves that had very fine fabric as the lining. . . but boy is that stuff slippery. And it's pink. Slippery and pink. Of course the other lining is red and black tiger striped. Unfortunately, the pattern is too big to look good as a banana hammock. :wiggle

    4. Thanks Therealwalter. The big Reys look great. I see yours and I have both 44 and 70 Rey Lewis on order. I have been a Dollshe fan right since I received my Hound, the oldest BJD here and I am so used to a long wait. I guess my little guy will arrive first.

    5. I received my Ebony Amanda doll yesturday! So excited! Best wishes to everyone that you will get yours before Christmas to!

    6. @liwhitesa - congrats! I'd love to see photos of her. is she pureskin Ebony or Espresso Ebony?
I'm so glad the girls are arriving home. finally!

      :celebrate

    8. Congrats! It's great you got her before christmas!
      Hope you post pictures :D

    9. well, I had to do it. the sale. the coupon. my addiction to honeyskin. I just ordered David Fashion 44 in honey strawberry.
three honeyboys in 44cm sounds perfect to me. they can sort out their relationships on their own!
I don't know whether to start making their clothes & wigs yet though. everything looks different with the real thing in front of you. :aninja:

    11. My Grant has made it to the Ballet. I guess it will be a long wait till we are joined by Rey Lewis. I managed to find a packet of smaller light green eyes.

    13. Great doublet! He is looking wonderful.

I now have ballet shoes for mine, thanks to a suggestion from petiteballerine, with tights on their way. I am working on a Odille/Odilon thing and there are feathers everywhere. Might have to tone it down a bit.

    14. charon, Thank you.
Your handsome, too beautiful and magnificent!
      They all are fantastic wonderful!

    15. My Amanda is on shipping, so some time next week she should be home, unless Santa and is magic sleigh can deliver her to me before Friday ( gotta work on Christmas anyway), but I will be off this coming weekend.

    16. My Amanda arrived yesterday. She's peach fresh. No shipping notice. I ordered her Jan 4th.
She's my first Dollshe. I'm really impressed. :aheartbea Merry Christmas to me! :)

    19. Congrats to all who are finally getting deliveries! I guess it's my turn to wait a while. I would love to see more fantastic pictures of these dolls. Is it me or do these guys have larger feet?

    20. Larger feet that their 70cm counterparts? I don't think so. They look to be the same proportions. Larger than other 1:4 scale dolls? Probably larger than most, as they have fairly realistic proportions.

    21. I just can't stop playing with this amazing little guy. Grant has now taken over Hamlet.

      Alas,poor Yorick!I knew him, Horatio.

    22. sweet! :)

    23. Well my Amanda is in the USA, but watch her show up while I am at work. Hubby is home on vacation so I told him to be on the look out if the mailman comes late. I won't be able to play with her until my day off :sigh

    24. The holiday partying begins....or continues.....White Rabbit joins Stellan for cocktails.

      Happy Merry!

    25. Congrats, everyone that has dolls coming in! I can't wait to see more girls!

I'm vaguely annoyed with myself right now because I messed up both the part and the front hair line on the hard cap wig I spent two days making. (It looked dry, felt dry, and when I went to take it off- absolutely was not dry.) It's salvageable; I just need to wait for it to finish drying for real this time, so I can tweak it.
And it looks perfectly fine, if you crop off the top of his head. :sweat Ah, well. At least his eyes turned out okay. I think these will be his defaults.

    26. Hubby deboxed my dolls while I got out of my nursing uniforms, she is lovely, but I thought if you ordered the girls, you got the makeup compact and lipstick for Amanda? Oh well, that's okay the heel legs and heel feet and the extra busts with open hands for hip were nice, but what am I suppose to do with all the little silicone pieces? I love the clear paddle hands too.

    27. That looks like a great start on the wig, Kayka. Did you take the wig cap off and leave it t to dry before sticking fibres to it? That can make a difference (and seems to help stop it deforming or shrinking later on).

Loving the little cocktail party there, petiteballerine.

    28. @MadamMauMau Yep! I made the wig cap about two weeks ago and only just had a chance to add the hair, so, it was totally dry before I started. I think my issue was that I must have "spritzed and styled" before the glue from adding the hair was totally cured, and then I Saran-wrapped it for a day or so to set the style, so, it kept the glue damp. At least I know for next time. And I'll definitely keep in mind that the cap should dry fully beforehand, as well.

@derilan85 I think the silicone pieces are replacements if you lose or wear down the ones already in the joints. I already had to use 2 of my replacements on my guy's neck joint as I lost them when changing heads.

    29. Ah I see, that explains it, thanks Kayka!

    30. I didn't get spare silicone stoppers and have already lost one. No matter. I am not sure they are doing much anyway.

And that makes sense on the wetting-it-then-trapping-the-water-in thing. The glue would probably have to be completely waterproof (and not just water resistant) to not dissolve in those conditions.

    31. Cho at Fifth Motif had a tip for those little silicon replacements: eraser bits from pencils or other source. he says they work just fine. :thumbup

      :candycane

    32. There is no way I am carving out 3mm bits of eraser for these little tinkers. It has made no difference, so I am letting them fall out when they want to.

    33.

    34. I think the silicone bits do help in my guy's leg/pelvis joint, but I don't know that they really help elsewhere.

[IMG]The wig is usable! I think I might try making a blond one next time, or another shorter black one.

    35. He looks great and that wig has recovered beautifully.

They might make a difference with the hip, but not enough for me to mourn their passing. From stability tests I did, they don't add anything to the head and arms than non-stoppered dolls don't have, so I'm not convinced they are worth worrying about.

    36. So glad you were able to salvage your work Kayka.
I have noticed the dearth of mini 26F female photos around. I wonder why?

    37. And where did you get that shirt from, Kayka? I am looking for a poet's/pirate's type shirt for mine. I am not sure I need the ruffles, but will look at anything at this stage.

    38. @MadamMauMau I'd like a more 'plain' cream poet's shirt, but this one works okay, for now. I got it from mybayer2008's ebay store. It's a little tight if you button it all the way, but the fabric has enough give that I haven't had a problem with it thus far.

Iplehouse has a shirt that's more in line with what I'd like in the Misty Swan Set, but I don't like the rest of the set enough for it to be a viable option.

@Richie I don't think as many people have received their girls, yet. I, too, am looking forward to more pictures of them!

    39. I was taking pics of something I made for a friend of Stellan's & moved the light a little to one side just to see it shine through that honeyskin.

Happy New Year to everyone celebrating!

    40. I did post over at the small wig thread but this may be of interest here as well. It is some old reborn mohair that I bought from China a year ago. Very straight to the point that I can't style it. Fold part did not work but as a short style it seems OK.

    41. Little update on my order status… I finally got the shipping notice on December 24th and got my Amanda & Grant home two days ago. They are both very well made and so full of little details, such beauties, and I adore them both! :D Sadly it's been so dark that I have no pictures of them to share. Sorry about that, I know people are impatiently waiting pictures of the girls. But I can tell you that she looks just like the bigger version. It's so weird looking at her as she looks so much like bigger dolls but is still so very small. If these would have been around earlier I might not have any of my bigger dolls as now I can get the same look in so much more convenient size. I might even have to rethink my collection a little bit after meeting these beauties. I hope others are starting to get their dolls too. I'd love to see different resin colors and how people style them. Also, I'm eager to know where to get high heel shoes for their gorgeous high heel feet.

    42. I just got the finished face-up pics of my guy from the lovely rianne ;A; can't wait to get his wig and tattoos done in February and have him temporarily done till I have to send him away again to get his clothes custom made xD

    43. That is a great face, Roterwolkenvogel. This is not an easy thing to paint and they have done a great job.

    44. :sigh Well my Amanda has eyes that fit, but anything clothes wise does not fit, I have no idea what will. My Tonner Tyler clothes do not fit her, nor does anything my Narae fit her either. My Sybarite (1st Gen) outfit won't fit her either. And as for wigs......guess I have to order her one. So anyone that has the female Dollshe in this size, what have you tried on her?

    45. Yay! I'm glad more girls are home! I'd like an Amanda Beauty at some point, but I'm not too keen on the Dollshe wait times. That's a bummer about the ladies being difficult to dress, though. I thought they would be easier than the guys. :doh

@Roterwolkenvogel He looks gorgeous!:D I can't wait to see him all styled and put together.

I know a few of us were talking in the first thread about finding a companion doll that matches our mini Dollshes scale-wise, so I thought I'd share my choice, which arrived today by surprise. (I wasn't expecting her until next week at the earliest.)

I chose an off-topic Jigamaree-Bimong Shahti because I fell in love with her face sculpt. Her body is more 'fashion dollish' than I would like, but since she's going to be dressed 99% of the time, I decided I could deal with it and ignore her super tiny hands and feet. The scale head-wise is exactly what I was looking for, and that mattered more than the body sculpt to me. (There is also a 'Maree', whose body sculpt I like more, but Shahti's head sculpt swayed me.)

      More comparison pictures here.

    46. I think you should check out JID girl and Luts Model Delf girl measurements and see if those will work.

      • x 1
    47. I think the JID girl outfits will give me enough room for my Amanda, Luts Model Delf would be a tight fit in some areas, thanks for the info!

    48. So my Amanda has left Inchon. With a layover in Alaska, she should be at O'Hare tonight. To bad I can't just go pick her up from customs. :P Still, finally!!!

    49. No problem!

I received my eyes from Enso a few days ago and I really like them. Like MadamMauMau mentions the fit is not perfect. I found I had to do some fiddling with them but the scale is very nice. Sorry for the slight derp look here, they need a bit more tweaking. I may bevel the eye wells a little to see if I can get a more flush fit because this color is perfect!

    50. My Dollshe Fashion Lewis arrived a few days ago. His name is Gabrielle and he doesn't have any eyes or even clothes, just this little scarf that I made a year ago. [IMG][IMG]

      • x 4
    51. that was very quick for a Dollshe doll! he's really handsome. the scarf is all he needs.
what resin color is that? it's beautiful.

      :chocoberry

    52. He is gorgeous! And really tempts me to get a Lewis...

    53. @angelie23
O.M.G. He is spectacular! Just beautiful in all aspects. May I ask when you ordered him as I am waiting for RL in Pure Oriental myself.
You must be over the moon!

    54. @Richie Actually, I ordered a Fashion David last year but changed my mind halfway when Dollshe released Lewis. They told me he will ship around January-February of 2016 so he was a surprise. They shipped him on Dec. 24, 2015.

    55. So good to see Rey Lewis starting to ship. Your boy is pure heaven. I have him ordered in Oriental. My order is #1481 from 20th October. I used my bonus voucher and ordered Classic Rey Lewis in copper oriental as well. Wondering which one arrives first.

    56. So many stunning dolls coming in. And great to see a Shahti. Not enough of those about. Are they still of topic, since the criterion changes? I lose track.

He looks great with these. If you want to improve fit, it would be easier to sand the eyes than change the eyewells. I think the problem is that they are deep eyewells and most flat back eyes are a squashed hemisphere, so they don't sit right into the well. If you carefully sand the edges of the eyes to make the shape more hemispherical, they will fit. You can then re-gloss the sanded areas.

    57. Glad to see more Lewises arriving. He looks great in that resin color.

    58. I have a wig coming just for Amanda, but I have to see if I can swing her a outfit too from Iplehouse as well. She is wearing a outfit that my Narae wore when she first arrived........:nowords:

    59. I just paid off my Rey Lewis in honey espresso ebony.
it will be interesting to see if he's been cast yet or if I have a couple (few) months of waiting like a new order.
he's going to be fun & a challenge in that color.
