Congrats on the arrival @basilclover!

I finished Shane's wig late last night and I think it looks pretty good for something that was so last minute and terribly planned (also my first wig)! He was originally supposed to get a brushed out yarn wig, but I made all the wefts months ago and of course when I needed them, they were nowhere to be found! I knew I wouldn't have time to make more wefts to get him finished by this weekend, so I decided to give him "braids" instead and used yarn that was small and thin. I really like the result and I'm definitely going to make him a couple more braided wigs as well as some brushed out ones.

There are a couple of bald spots that need to be touched up, but I'm working on those in between sealant sprays for Shane's face-up. I'm so excited! >.<

 

Am lovin' the wig, those eyes, the box opening!

My resin crew are gearing up for Halloween, although many of them don't need much of a costume.
Kaspar is a good example. NO costume. Just his shadow.

Does anyone have experience restringing the legs on the Fashion Maxi guys? I got my Grant a pair of girl feet so that he could finally fit into the cutest boots ever.

But... one of the s-hooks snapped while I was swapping them, and now the elastic has disappeared up his leg.

I thought, "oh, no big deal, I'll just take his leg apart and restring it," but there's a silicone channel that looks like it might be glued in (or it's just had 3 years worth of pressure and is stuck in there really well), and the string's knot is in in his lower calf. So, the elastic is not going in either direction, at this point.

He'll be wearing these shoes regardless, but I'd feel better if he had two attached feet. Any ideas short of cutting the elastic?

 

@Kayka the exact same thing happened to me with my Amanda, the knot got stuck in the lower leg piece. I had to get my husband to help me but all we could do was just pull it and eventually it came free. But maybe someone has some better advice?

 

I may try pulling some more, then! For now, I just have his leg in the boot and his loose lady-foot floating around at the bottom. Of course, this means he's not so amazing at standing at the moment... but his boots really pull the outfit together.

 

@Kayka My go to for any stringing issue is a small crochet hook. But I haven't been in your exact predicament so I don't know if it would be able to reach and snag the elastic.

 

very confusing site - more than usual, and those prices are, ummm....crazy. well, that ought to slow down the ordering rate. maybe some of us will get our dolls sooner.
not saying the dolls aren't worth whatever Mr Kim asks for them, but I'm sure happy I've taken advantage of his sales in the past.
Is it just the fashions that went up?

 

The full package now includes all three heads OE, EN and SA, maybe that is the reason for the price increase?

Hi friends! I believe what you're seeing on the Dollshe site is a half-finished sale adjustment. Currently, everything is at the non-sale prices except for the 28M Classic Maxi Special Packages. Judging by the content of one of those listings, Dollshe was going to put up an event, but has decided to delay it. We can only hope that they took our feedback of "stop doing sales and produce more" to heart.

Please note that the above is not official information from Dollshe, it's solely based on my experience in mirroring products from their site and other dealer-related activities all this time. But here is some insider information for you guys, even if it's not a whole lot: Dollshe has really stepped up their shipping game this month. They only shipped us three dolls in October, but they've already shipped us 7 this month, with more on the way, and even more waiting to be sent out after those arrive. We also heard from Fifth Motif that Dollshe is pushing out the last of the orders for them, meaning that very very soon, all the orders we took for Fifth Motif will finally be complete!

 

I was going to go for a 55cm guy or girl someday, but only if I get a very good price. maybe a coupon for waiting a year.
a little bit higher prices with occasional sales or 'events' would keep everyone happy with steady $ for Mr K and Co. and faster ship times.
I love honey resin, but it adds a lot to my order.

I've been following the dollshe girls discussion thread and the classic Dianas are starting to ship. You can even find a few owners pictures of her. And she is gorgeous! I looks like they are making odd color classics first. My fashion Diana is still on processing too. 12 days more and I'll be in the 2 year club. But seeing the owners pics is giving me so much hope. And seeing her in something other than grey makes me not regret having ordered her ages back. I am looking forward to getting this gorgeous girl so much!

For owners of Erica Snow (or Amanda Beauty), I have a question about the teeth parts. Are the divots on either side of the part you grab (top teeth portion) there so they can be punched through? Maybe they are punched through to create a hole on the larger versions for easier painting? I am tempted to make a hole to string them up since they are tiny and hard to grab!

 

Oh wow. Not related to the heads, but. I love his hands. They have such a gentle "expression" for lack of a better word? They look like they're in the midst of a caress.

(Also, that resin is ... wow. It looks almost marble-like and glowing from within in that lighting.)

 

My Fashion Maxi Bermann is on "Packing" status!!! Yes! 8 months...not too bad for Dollshe. LOL

 

Time to celebrate as today I have the questionable honor to join the Dollshe 2 year club.
Apparently exactly two years ago I made a bad decision and put fashion Natalie on order. The order is still in processing state so no sign to be seen that the situation would change anytime soon. I'm not even sure if anyone has received a fashion Diana yet so Natalie could still take forever to ship. I mean is the fashion size body even ready...? I'm slowly starting to regret this order and even more the fact that I did two more orders just half a year ago. Those might and most likely will take forever to be ready too.
Will I ever learn...

 

@AnnieStar - That is a dubious honor indeed. You have my sympathy. Just looking at the company's output, I get the impression that Dollshe very much prefers making male dolls. I hope your two additional orders weren't for females. Males would probably arrive a whole lot sooner.

 

After being away from my DoA account for a while, I'd like to celebrate my main inspiration's birthday with a single shot of my Dollshe Fashion with a custom head. Merry Bowiemas, everybody!

 

@vermont chick I think you're right, Dollshe does seem to favor the male sculpts. Unfortunate for me is that I favor female and the two new orders are both female. They are Amanda and Erica with all the three bigger heads. I thought that since the body was already finished and the heads looked to be nearly finished from the pictures Dollshe posted, that the new versions would be ready faster. But I guess that was just wishful thinking. I'd be pleasantly surprised to see them before one year mark but not holding my breath.

@Katyok Wow, he does look like Bowie. Well done with the styling!

 

@AnnieStar - Good luck getting your girls in a reasonable amount of time. I could never wait two years for a doll--even one year is too long for me--and I consider myself super patient. Maybe I'm not as patient as I thought.

@Katyok - I recognized David Bowie even before I read your text. Did Dollshe make the head or is he from another company?

 

The head is the 3D model my husband made for me for X-Mas. I did the painting and wigging, made the urethane eyes too. I've been into resin jewelry and crafts lately.

@vermont chick well, I'm not so happy about waiting this long either but it's not like I have a choice. I didn't realize they could take this long when I made the orders. So there's nothing more to do than just wait for the miracle. Sad thing is that after all this time I'm not sure if the dolls actually fit my current doll plans as plans do tend to change over time. But I'll see what happens when I get the dolls in my hands.

 

I have a hybrid to show now as well. I just got an Eddie Redmayne MSD head by Pezzini in the mail today. All I have to say is Squeee!!! Haha. After trying him on Arsene and Mystic bodies, Mystic seems to work best. Loving this hybrid!

@vermont chick You know I am not entirely sure yet! The main reason I got him is because the sculpt is just absolutely beautiful and unique. Eddie Redmayne is pretty easy on the eyes though. I might just have to see how he evolves as I work on him. I am already getting him a body of his own (he is on my Saint's pale skin body above), but eyes will be tricky as the eyewells are definitely 8mm, but the openings are teeny tiny. He is going to be so much fun!

Thank you, @redmaiko! Arsene snuck up on me, but he's become my most beloved male sculpt. The postal estimate has him home in just a couple weeks, so fingers crossed I'll be able to share him soon. :3

 

I feel like I've lost my mind. A while back in this thread (or maybe the what fits thread?) there was mention of an acrylic eye source that made really small eyes with selectable iris sizes. I think it was Russian, and I remember them being absurdly affordable. I've been searching to no avail (probably because I can't remember the name). If this sounds familiar to anyone, I'd appreciate the help.

In other, non-crazy, news, my arsene is here and he's to die for. I've got him on the mystic body which I think deserves some blushing. He can wear 5-6mm size Masterpiece silicone eyes btw. I'll post pictures later in the week as I get to work on him a bit. ^^

It is Glazki, but as a heads-up, a bunch of their eye designs were stolen from Safrin Doll, at least at one point. I can't tell if they're still there since Safrin doesn't do them anymore, but Glazki was just printing out her self-made eye designs from her website. I had wanted to order from them but I don't like the idea of buying something that might be stolen.
