Dollmore Large Dolls Discussion Thread (all sizes) - Part 2

I'm not sure posting here will do me much good since I don't know how many of you have Model M bodies, but I cannot for the life of me find mine boots. All the boots I've found that are close to what I want, have an inner length of 9.5, which is about the size of his stupid huge foot.

So has anyone out there bought 9.5 shoes and had them fit?? I don't want to buy them and have them not fit, he's way bigger than my next foot size down, so they'd be ridiculous on anyone else.

alternately if you know where I can find very large Doc Martin looking boots, please let me know. I've tried ebay, Alice collections, Dollmore and Iplehouse and been thwarted completely.

Well not totally completely. I found a couple that might work but they're on the pricier side and I was going to paint them, so I didn't want to shell out a fortune (but I might have to at this rate).

 

@VampireAngel13 I know you have the talent and experience with modding tools so I will suggest this to you

I am going to suggest buying another pair of model feet, and dremel it shorter so he would fit the boots better instead of buying newer boots only to find it also wont fit. Ive done this to some of my iplehouse girls (made their feet slimmer) to fit into heels, but I also got extra heel feet so if I need to sell them, the resin would be from the same batch.

Its an option, if no one can come up with helpful suggestions to you

 

Yeah, @VampireAngel13 my big footed guys (Dollmore Glamor model and Dollshe Arsene feet) wears the Dollmore Glamor Model boots and they fit my 10x4cm big-foot Bishonenhouse boy, but the BH boy came with 'paddle feet' to use smaller shoes on him so @GreenTeaSlug has a good idea.

 

I....don't think I want to do that tbh. He has other shoes, this would be for just one pair... it makes a pair of boots that much more expensive since I'd have to buy new feet and pay the DM shipping for them.

Also, from an emotional standpoint, this is literally my favorite doll...I don't think I could look at him and not see the ruined feet (even though it wouldn't be his actual feet). Maybe if it was any other doll I owned it wouldn't be an issue, but not this one.

John has a pair of Glamor Model shoes, but they don't have any that are close to what I want. Neither does Iplehouse which is my other (very expensive) fall back for him.

Who knew it would ever be this hard to find boots for a BJD XD

 

What are you looking for in particular? Beside Doc Martin?

 

That's it! I was going to paint them (because John) but only if I find some that fit. I mean, in a perfect world, they'd have a black sole. But I can paint that too. I guess I don't really want to spend a lot...but since I've found exactly nothing, that might change.

Have you looked at Leekeworld's shoes? If you check out the individual pages of their newer offerings, they've got a graphic describing the fact that they've changed the sizes to be larger now. Of course most of them are sold out already, but it might be worth keeping an eye on them to see what they release next.

@VampireAngel13 You might ask Blue Blood dolls on ebay. They have Martins listed for SD/SD17 but there EID-Soom-ID-Huge size should work!

She's really pretty I would be too scared to get a doll with body tattoos like that. I worry that the tattoos might get damaged. But I've seen many have bought these tattooed dolls. Do they have a special kind of sealant for the tattoos?

 

From what I understand, the tattoos are actually etched. My friend who does faceups repainted one of the tattooed heads and commented on it

 

I see. I really like the red skin of the "Origin of Red ; Tattoo Nayuta", so if Dollmore ever release a redskin Model Doll F, I might be interested. But it all comes down to whether or not I like the tattoo.

 

All of the Nayuta's have the same tattoo pattern, just different color resin and accent colors. It is etched into the resin but not deeply so extra layers of sealant is a plus.

The red is painted on him, that was the deal breaker for me but I did get another doll from them lol

Actually, I had no idea. I have a red skin RS Li and from own experience, the red resin with time turned into a deep warm chocolate color. Maybe Dollmore decided to just cover the doll in red paint instead to prevent too much changes in the red color?

Hey does anyone have jointed hands on their Glamor Model boy body? I have Dika Doll hands on one, but I'm getting a second, and I would rather have something that works a little better than Dika. The DK are a perfect fit and proportion though, so there is that.

EDIT: ok so I figured out Soom, and realized that they do still have Idealian hands, though I literally JUST missed the last order period. Which is ok, I'll get my hands on them eventually. SO does anyone have Idealian jointed hands they can try on the Glamor Model? My SG hands are too small (I tried), they look like baby hands XD but I'm afraid that the bigger ones will be too big. And I much prefer Soom to any other hand I have.

Oh and I'm still considering jointed hand options if anyone knows what will work for the GM body. Those hands are way too big for him. Way too big.

I think the Doll Legend hands are nice but the fingers are skinny and this hand is strung too tightly so the fingers just curl up when you try to pose them. I have some tiny string so I may try to restring them (someday)

 

@SteamWitch thank you!!! Wow they are the same size as his normal hands! Does the wrist move ok? I was hoping they were better at posing. But at least they fit! ThT makes them an option.

 

@VampireAngel13 The wrist joint moves fine in the gm wrist. I've had these for about 3 years and really like them for all that the one snaps fingers closed but they are pose-able, with a little effort. Robert loves to visit the pub and make rude gestures with all my jointed hand guys, lol. I should take a photo some day.

Since it says all Dollmore sizes I'll ask here. Me and my friend have been thinking about doing a Pullip order together. This made me also look at the Dollmore Lukia Dolls being that they are Pullip like in look. I saw one Lukia Doll that I just instantly fell for, I might have to get her someday, plus it would be cool to be able to compare them with Pullips side by side.

Just wondering is there a "Dollmore Lukia Doll" thread on DOA? I've had problems finding any but I know there's been a Lukia Doll head for sale on the MP. I assume they wouldn't be selling them here if this doll were off-topic.

 

Well, I’m pretty sure the thread title means all SD sizes, since this particular forum is about SD sized dolls. Since Lukia is smaller, it would be off-topic here.

Try the sub forum for tinies, you might have better luck finding a thread there, or (assuming the doll isn’t off-topic for DOA), you can always start one.

Edit: actually, there are two versions of Lukia. One is resin and the Neo Lukia version is made of ABS material. Only the resin version would be allowed on DOA. That’s probably the head that is being sold.

The off-topic Neo Lukia is the one who bears more resemblance to Pullip, but she can’t be discussed on DOA.

 

Dollmore Lukia dolls are all off-topic for DoA- even the resin ones. I own several of the resin ones and absolutely love them, also bought them because they were similar to Pullips. I believe there was a thread somewhere over in the Brigadoon section for Lukia dolls but not many replied or participated in it (sad)

 

Oops, my mistake. Yes of course it would mean all SD sizes I kind of hoped I could find any threads though as I have some things I'd like to know. And yes it's one of the Neo Lukia dolls that I want. I could probably ask Dollmore for some information.

Someone please come help me revive this thread!!! It can't die....it can't!

anyway I just grabbed an old old old Eve Lilis Liv off the MP. She's got the Eve body before the Eve body I have from way back in the day which is still the current Eve body XD

She's got Model hands, and light damage on her feet, and I have extra Eve hands and feet since Eves come with two pairs of feet and mine is using Dollpire hands right now.

I can't wait to clean her up and do...something with her. I feel like Volks-lovers feel when they snag an old Volks off Mandrake XD
She was shipped last night, so going by current PO times, it will be sometime next week by the time she gets here. :\

 

Argggh! I wish I could help revive this thread. I sent my Kenzo Blue Epoch off to a friend and don't have any right now. I just can't give up on looking at the posts here. Plus, there is always a chance I will get another Dollmore body.

I happen to have an extra headless Glamor doll body now...I suppose I could give him his actual head back and he can be a full Ripley Days again... I haven't quite decided what to do with him.

Ahhhh!!! I was looking at her, too! I couldn't bring myself to buy her, though! In case she found a needed home. I kept thinking maybe for the body at least, then remembering it doesn't work best for my own Liv's character, lol! I am SO SO SO glad she found a good home! She was such a precious diamond in the rough. Liv's look amazing in person, if you've never seen one. Photos just do NOT do her justice. Mine's currently on a Miro body with Dollpire hands as well, lol!

If I ever see a Black Lilith show up, though, it's over. O_O; She's what I originally really wanted. But I love my Lilis Liv head hybrid girl to death.

Thank you!! I've never seen one irl - I remain the only Dollmore lover in my area, sadly - but I've loved the few I've seen online over the years. I can't wait for mine to show up.

 

I'm even more glad I didn't cave into temptation to purchase her, because you're going to love her in person! She's really so elegant and delicate. Almost the same with my areas, too, though I did get to see an Ipsae and Doppel Asha many years ago when I was still rather new to the hobby, and I have seen a Paran. Otherwise, it's just been my lovelies.

Speaking of dollpire hands, I've been wanting to purchase the male ones, but can't decide on sizes. Comparison photos have been hard to come by, and I want them for hybrid purposes, lol. I've seen the large hands are apparently mega huge? I was thinking to put them on a Resinsoul 72cm... anyone know if that would work?

 

@TasiaChiba the large (glamor model) hands are about the same size as Dollshe mystic hands. Very large! I no longer have either the hands or the big body so I can't take a photo to show you the difference.

I have the resinsoul 72cm jointed hands on my glamor body- the wrist fits well, but the hands are definitely smaller than glamor model hands. Which are huge

Sorry for the double-post, but I swear, the PO. We didn't even get mail Saturday (which actually happens a lot), and today the tracking has updated twice moving the expected delivery time back. Ugh.

I mean, she'll get here eventually, and I am usually patient, until the doll is this close. Then I lose all patience and become a nervous wreck checking the status and the front porch a hundred times in an hour.

Adam hands are...not small, for 60cm size, but for a 70cm doll, they're tiny. I'm not sure they'd work out for a bigger guy. I can try to grab a pic later of all three sizes for you later (I'm including Resinsoul...which I am assuming are roughly the right size for your guy since they're the 72cm ones)

Well I think they're more blue, but they're Oscar Doll eyes and have a million crystals in them, so who really knows? XD I had taken them out of another doll and they fit really nicely in her, so she got them!
