Creature Doll! Armored Beauties ready for Adventure

Wow, I didn't see that one the last time I looked at Monique's website. Facets doesn't have it yet. The wig looks blue and blonde instead of blue and white. Maybe it's a white-blonde. Either way it's pretty.

 

Ivory, I guess. It looked pretty darn white in this photo, and the name implies it should be true white. I don't know if I want to pester anyone to find out if it's meant to be that way or not.

 

The color name does say "white" so you would be justified in asking. It looks like the seller used Monique's photo, but it could be that Monique's picture editing software color corrected and produced a purer white than the item really is.

 

@skyealloway - I like the verdant, too. The color works well with her outfit. On the other hand, if you ever change to another outfit the ember also looks good on her.

I hear you on the P-bucket saga. There is no way I'm going to repost 7 years worth of photos--if I could even find half the threads. All the photos are on my computer, the problem being that I don't remember which ones I used and when.

I wonder if there is a typo in my tracking number, because there is a letter instead of a numeral before the KR at the end and there is no information yet. A Raccoon Doll that shipped at the same time has already left the airport. I have a feeling Mei will just show up and surprise me.

 

Mei has arrived! Creature Doll emailed me over the weekend to give me the correct tracking number, which was very nice of them. I had hoped to give her a face-up today, but the mail came late and I knew I wouldn't be able to finish if I started her. Unlike Lucia, Mei is very tightly strung--her arms especially. I had trouble posing her for photos. The funny thing is that both Mei and my new Raccoon Steeze Rosie are very tight. I wonder if it has to do with the weather in Korea vs the weather here? Anyway, here she is:

 

Thanks @skyealloway. I really like her sculpt. Not a fan of how the company paints them, however. I plan to paint her today, so I'll take more photos later.

 

Creature Doll's resin is pinker. Both of my normal skin Raccoon girls were ordered 2 years ago, however, so I presume they have yellowed a bit. I don't know what a brand new Raccoon normal looks like.

I got Mei painted, but the sky darkened during the afternoon so I'll have to wait until tomorrow to take photos. I had to sand her brow gently, just like Lucia, because that area wasn't taking color. I don't know, maybe it's something to do with how they prepare their molds?

 

Mei got her face painted, a different outfit and different eyes. (I think they're 8mm.)

 

Looks like I got bit by the creature doll bug, will have to get one as a Christmas present later this year. By then who knows how many new dolls will come out by that time. Is it hard to upload pics from Flickr? I have been slowly putting my pics there and don't know how to upload them here.

 

@derilan85 - I presume you also kicked the Bucket? For the most part uploading from Flickr is not bad. You don't need to click on the image icon here. Just go to your photo in Flickr, click on the curved arrow on the bottom right of the screen, make sure the setting is on BB Code, right click on the highlighted string, then paste it into your DoA post. You'll have to remove all the code before the initial bracket img bracket. Then find the next bracket img bracket and remove everything that comes after it. I know it sounds complicated when you read it, but try it, it's easy.

It only gets to be a pain in the neck when you want to post photos to a sales thread. Use the same procedure. When you post your thread the photos will be missing, so go to Edit and do it again. It only takes after the second time. (If there is an easier way, I would love to know what it is.)

 

I go to 'download this photo, view all sizes' in Flickr, (the downward arrow on the right) then choose the size I want, click on the photo to bring up Properties, copy the URL link in that menu, then paste that wherever you want using the image icon here. pretty quick and gives you the right size. no BB to mess with. works just as easily in sales threads.

I never used photobucket. so glad for that!

 

I'll try that method the next time. Does it work without doing it twice in sales threads?

 

@vermont chick - I use a pc for uploading to DOA. no problem with sales thread. paste url into the 1st photo, etc and the pics pop up right away.
I've never had to post twice to get pics to work in the marketplace. on the old board or this one. not sure what would cause that.

 

@petiteballerine - I also use a PC and have tried pasting the url onto the line for the first photo, etc. Didn't work for me. I use Windows 10 home edition. Maybe that makes the difference?

 

@vermont chick - that's odd. I'm using my old desktop with Win 7. I'll try my new laptop with Win 10 and see if I have a problem.

Comparison pic! I tried to do this with the download arrow yesterday but got mixed up halfway through and then Flickr stopped responding. So, today I'm sharing via the curved (Share Photo) arrow. The girls are: Raccoon Steeze Rosie in milk mocha, normal skin FID Raffine and normal skin Creature Mei. Raffine is the only one wearing high heels. Mei's dress is from a Lolita pattern for Narae. Obviously I took it in a different direction.

To me Mei looks a little like Yur and a little like Aurora. The sculptor has worked at iplehouse and also SoulDoll in the past.

They are absolutely 100 percent Iplehouse ankles. I wish they weren't...

Here's a comparison photo. On the left is a Raccoon normal skin (2 yr-old, slightly yellowed) head on a new Creature Doll normal skin body. On the right is another Raccoon normal, 2 yr-old slightly yellowed head on a WithDoll normal skin 1 yr-old body. I have a new Raccoon normal skin head coming, so I'll be eager to see if the color match is any better, but the 2 yr-old head doesn't match at all. It also seems to sit low on the neck. The WithDoll match is better.

Oo, wonder if those swords we saw earlier go with her. I usually don't go for open-mouthed dolls, but she's looking pretty so far regardless.

 

Thanks @sidroq ! OMG, I like her--a lot! If only a pot of money would fall into my lap. Whether or not I can buy Alisa depends on whether she is basic or limited, as well as what new FIDs Iplehouse releases and what Raccoon's first male doll looks like. I sold two big dolls recently; alas, both are layaways and I won't see the money for a while. Let's see, who else can I sell?

It looks like gray skin. Not sure how I feel about the color, but I would be interested if she were available without the horns. I suspect Alisa will be Limited.

 

Gray before tan? I'm so hungry for a gorgeous tan elf from RD, Iple, or CD. Gray is tempting, too, but tan would be... (I asked Raccoon if he will release the elf heads in dark mocha--he said maybe. So waiting on that for now. XD)

Regardless, Alisa really has gorgeous lips.

 

She's up, and she has options! And a scythe.

 

The ears and horns remind me of some of Iple's Addiction series demons. Unfortunately they're just not doing anything for me.

I sure wish he would sell the shoes separately, because I bought the high heel feet but they don't fit into any shoes I own.

 

She's beautiful, but not "gotta have it!" for me, sadly. I think a lot of people will appreciate the vampire aesthetic, though, so maybe a few more people will become Creature Doll fans!

I would love to see them make even more weapons and clothes and accessories available to us without dolls, too. Especially since Raccoon and FID are a similar size, I think a lot of us would love to mix and match the props and outfits.

@vermont chick, are their feet weirdly small like Raccoon and FID? I got VERY similar shoes to the ones they're offering with Alisa, from Souldoll (their Soulkid size), and they fit FID feet great (and Raccoon feet with a little bit of a stuffed toe).

 

The thing about the heel feet is that the arch is quite high while the foot is short. It's more realistic than most doll heel feet. To see what I mean, take off your shoes and look at your feet. Keep one foot flat on the floor and arch the other foot as if you were wearing a high heel shoe. Your "heel" foot will look a few inches shorter than your flat foot. And the higher the heel, the shorter the foot looks. Most doll feet measure the same length in both the flat and heel position.

I had hoped these girls could wear high heels made for Dollmore Judith girls. Judith's arch is also quite high, but it would take a lot of stuffing to make the shoes work. The Judith heel shoes are way too long. Unfortunately, Iplehouse shoes don't work either because JID and FID feet are narrower.

 

Now the swords are up too. I may have to order those and some heel feet if nothing else.

You know, I love pointed ears and horns, I love fantasy skin-tones, I even like scythes as an artistic form of weapon. I'm just not sold on her face. It's pretty, but I tend not to like open-mouthed dolls in general for some reason.

I kind of regret missing out on Phyllis and Eve now. It would be nice if they could be released as basics with tan skin or something in the future...

 

I love Alisa, but just can't justify buying another doll for a good while xD. I've only just joined the hobby and have 2 dolls on the way (plus a free event doll), and a potential 3rd... :S.

Does anyone know if Creaturedoll tend to re-release their limiteds? I have only just heard of them, so know nothing about them as a company.

 

Its still a pretty new company. I don't think we know what the artist is planning on that matter yet.

 

If he's posting bits and pieces of Alisa, I hope that means he'll get around to posting the shoes by themselves. The thing is, they look identical to the red shoes he posted with Lilith, and he said he had production issues with them. Does this mean the production issues have been solved? I want heel shoes! And black is even more versatile than red.

 

Ah OK - well here's hoping! It's a company to follow I think - the sculpts are beautiful :O.

 

Have any of us who own them shared our dolls outside this thread yet? I just realized I haven't, and I didn't find any box-opening threads or anything when I ran a search. The company could probably use more exposure. Just a thought.

 

I think I have posted comparison photos in either or both the Raccoon and FID threads. And of course people can find photos on my Flickr and my blog.

Wonderful news! I had an email from Creature Doll this morning:

Hello. We sent you a present. this is High Hill. color is red.
We will soon sell three color of high-heel shoes fidelity.
You bought foot type2 but didn't find the ones that fit for a long time.
This gift is a reward for that.

I wondered about the High Hill, until I figured out he meant High Heel. So I'm getting the red heel shoes I tried to order, and he says he'll be selling 3 colors of the high heels. I don't know if that means 3 colors in addition to the red and the black that he is selling with Alisa, or if red and black are two of the colors and there is one more. Either way, I'm buying! So happy!

 

My red high heels arrived today, along with a nice note from Mr. Park saying that he will update his site with more shoes. He also mentioned that the girls can share heel shoes with Model Delf. The only caution I would mention is that Luts discontinued the original Model Delf bodies as of September 25th. The new bodies are supposed to be able to wear the same shoes as Kid Delf, which won't help our Creature Dolls as KDFs have bigger feet. I just hope Luts will keep the older shoes in stock for people who bought the original dolls.
