Hello! I'm usually too lazy to post box openings, but since the company is very new and I haven't seen any others out there, I figured it might help if anyone's on the fence, and give this lovely new company some exposure. I ordered Priestess Eve from Creature Doll on February 4th, and she arrived on March 29th. I was a little wary ordering from a brand new company, especially for a fullset, but I figured she was beautiful enough to be worth the risk -- and it definitely paid off. After ordering, I received an email from the artist letting me know that she would ship about 6 weeks after the end of the pre-order period, which proved to be a pretty accurate estimate. All communications have been great -- the artist is really sweet and responds very quickly. Everything was very safely packaged. There was a big outer box full of packing peanuts, and the actual doll box was nestled safely inside, with an extra layer of wrapping as seen above. The outer box was damaged in transit, but everything inside was perfectly safe. She came with a CoA. The envelope seen above contains a hand-written, personalized letter from the artist. It turned out I was the first person to order Eve, despite having ordered at a time I thought was quite late in her pre-order period, and the letter was an incredibly sweet note thanking me for the purchase. (Like...really sweet, kinda made me tear up a little, and really makes me want to help promote this company and see them thrive.) The default wig. I've been burned by Soom & Fairyland when it comes to company wigs, but this one's from For My Doll! It's really nice, very soft and well-made. I've always been happy with FMD wigs. Gift wig! I got it for having paid in full for the order. Another For My Doll wig. I absolutely love it on her. The cut and colour totally transform her appearance. She's keeping this one for good. Her default outfit! It's all nicely made and fit her easily. It comes with some little arm-sleeves that I couldn't get onto her yet. I managed to misplace my stringing kit, and they're fitted enough that she'd need to have her hands removed. The lack of stringing kit also kept me from getting her into her full armour, but I managed to do a bit with it all the same. The armour is awesome and really well-engineered. Everything fits together nicely, and it stays very secure once it's put together. By comparison, I recently purchased an English Knight from Luts, and there are several pieces that don't quite fit together, and they tend to pop apart since the magnets are all that hold pieces together. Eve's armour has little notches where pieces lock together so they're much sturdier. The body is beautifully sculpted and she's easy to pose. She was fairly loosely strung for shipping, and I expect she'll be even better once the elastic's tightened. The body has a lot of nice little touches, like the elbow peanuts being in two parts that can rotate & give her more forearm movement, and little locking gears in the hips to help keep them in position better. They aren't necessarily game-changers when it comes to body engineering, but you can tell a lot of love & hard work was put into sculpting her. It's also a nice change to see these proportions in a 45cm doll. She would be a great option for people who like the looks of mature 60-65cm sculpts but find the size overwhelming. I am really excited about this company -- I'm going to have a Guardian Phyllis coming home soon. The artist said they intend to keep creating more fantasy-style fullsets and armour, so I'm really hoping they're successful enough to keep on creating. If anyone has any questions about the company or my experience ordering from them, I'd be happy to answer! I've also got a lot more photos posted on tumblr.
Wow, she is beautiful - both face and body. I am so glad you shared. Definitely have to keep an eye on this company! I really love the red wig on her - you're right about the cut and the color!
Wow!! I'm very impressed, I didn't know this company, it kind of reminds me to the big iplehouse girls for the realism, and is she an MSD?! Wow again! And that armor is stunning!
She is absolutely lovely! I've been watching this company since I first heard of them, and it's so exciting to see that the owner pics are at least as beautiful as the promo shots. I think it's tragic that it seems they didn't get many orders - if you get the opportunity, perhaps you should suggest that she invest in a banner on DoA next time she's preparing for a release. Anyway, congrats on your gorgeous girl! Not too surprising; the artist has designed for both Iplehouse and Soul Doll, but eventually wanted to strike out on her own.
Aww man, that armor looks awesome. I'm definitely going to order a guardian Phyllis. Armored mages? Yes ma'am! How's the posing for the body though? I might need a body for a head I'm trying to buy.
Wow I adore her armor! (I had begged Creature Dolls to sell it to me seperately but to no avail ) She herself does look fantastic as well, if I didn't know she was MSD size I'd have pegged her as SD!d
SHES SO COOL Thank you for sharing not only the photos but your experience with the company as well. Its nice to hear of a new company off to a great start, especially one with such awesome designs~!
That armor looks so gooood. I wonder what it's made of and if they will be selling it separately later on.
She's so beautiful! And I love all her things, wow-- plus, it's so great to see such a mature sculpt in 1/4 scale, I will certainly want to follow this company. Your girl looks so great in the short red wig, too, it really does transform her-- she was lovely before in the white, but WOW. Stunning! (oh man, I'm really in love with Phyllis-- I hope her head is released in basic someday, it looks like so far they only have a basic body up... It's so great that you're getting your hands on both of them, though!)
Yay! Another great-looking, well designed, mature doll in the 45cm range! This makes me so happy, as I sold my big Iplehouse dolls (too hard to handle). It's great to see former Iplehouse sculptors striking out on their own and creating beautiful works of art. After seeing your box opening I feel secure in ordering a Creature Doll of my own. Thanks for posting this--Eve is gorgeous!
I love the sculpt~ The head/face is very androgynous with more realistic proportions, something that I rarely see in female doll sets with a more figured body.
Wow, thanks for this box opening. I've been looking at Lucia and it is a pity my sewing skills for this size aren't up to much yet, she's my preferred MSD at the moment. Crickey, your girl's outfit is fabulous. Loooove the Hammer! And thanks again for the body shots, I've been wondering if I could cope with the joints aesthetics and these have helped a lot.
This doll is truly gorgeous! I had a feeling I was looking at a Iplehouse doll, can't wait to get my very own mature mini from this company!
