Your doll's wardrobe: Empty or Bursting?

Jan 31, 2011

    1. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls?
I like to buy several outfits for each doll, which at the moment isnt too bad but i plan on getting quite a few dolls so i can see it becoming a space propblem too lol

(If you only have one) do your dolls ever feel boring? Do you lose interest in them because you don't spoil or customise them further with clothing?
At the moment i have one doll that only has oe outfit and its getting a bit annoying for photoshoots and stuff for example I went to a meet the other week and the theme was 'tea party' and they all had to be dressed in their sunday best, but little riley onl has jeans and a T-shirt.

(If you have many) how many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes?
At the moment my two 70cm dolls have the most clothes, they each have a suit, about 4 shirts, loads of jeans and a couple of T-shirts ect. I love dressing my boys as they have so much possiblity with the differnet clothes they have. Though i am in the process of two very big orders for more clothes so my little ones will have some more clothes too

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally?
I would say yes, I like buying clothes for dolls that are on their way and I like to spoil my boys occasionally too lol

    2. I make a lot of my dolls' clothing, so when I get bored with what they're wearing, I make something new. The only things that get bought are shoes and wigs. That said, I'll answer your questions as far as they apply.

Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you [make] several different outfits for your dolls?
I like to make sure each doll has at least one outfit. I don't like to have naked dolls sitting around. Do I tend to spoil some more than others? Yeah. SD size is easiest to sew for, so my bigger dolls tend to have more options to choose from.

(If you only have one) do your dolls ever feel boring? Do you lose interest in them because you don't spoil or customise them further with clothing?
I sort of answered this already. I don't get bored with my dolls because they don't change their clothes, and if I ever did, I would just make a new outfit. It's one of the ways I "play" with my dolls. Sewing is such a big part of this hobby for me, that as time goes on I'm sure they'll all have extensive wardrobes.

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally?
I prefer not to buy at all. If I make most of the clothes, I can spend more on things I can't make like shoes, wigs, and eyes. I think that, even with home-made outfits, my dolls are pretty well-dressed.

    3. I don't know why, but even when I see adorable professionally-made outfits out there, I just don't feel like the doll is truly mine until I MAKE her an outfit. Unfortunately I loathe sewing most of the time, but go through strange periods where my mind is taken over by some alien sewing-intelligence I don't normally have... and I whip up something great. But I can have a doll sit around completely nekkid for a year or more until that happens ^^;; I draft all my own patters, and sew by hand... and when something doesn't turn out it's a major bummer. Because of this it's unlikely that my dolls end up with more than one outfit.

      Strangely, I have a drawer full of SD-sized dresses made of downsized antique baby dresses and such... I just haven't gotten around to getting a doll for them! I guess that should be my next project! ^^;;

    4. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls?
I like for each doll to have one default outfit from their home company. This is so they have one thing guaranteed to fit properly. For my yo-sizes I try to get a wickedstitchery outfit next becuase they're awesome quality and just rock. If the doll is comparable in size to a doll in toy stores, I'll pick up pieces that I like.

(If you only have one) do your dolls ever feel boring? Do you lose interest in them because you don't spoil or customise them further with clothing?
Gabriel (puki cupid) is my only doll with one outfit only, but I don't feel bored with him. He's adorable as a bitty bunny and I can't really see him in anything else. Josslyn has other dressess, but the PamSD number she's in *is* her, so she likely won't wear anything else. I don't loose interest in her or Gabriel becuase they're complete and make me smile when ever I look at them.

(If you have many) how many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes?
Peyton and Natalie each have 3 (1 FL, 1 wickedstitchery, 1 pj set from Sims), Adia has several BFC, ink sets and 2 IH (fullset dress and another) with more on the way. Marche is the only one without a proper set because he's secondhand, odd sized, and I'm waiting on IH's KID line to drop. I change Peyton, Natalie, and Adia whenever I feel like, but I like playing with Adia's look the most. I think you have too many clothes when you forget that you have something. :sweat

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally?
I buy intentionally. If it doesn't look like the "personality" of my doll, I won't get it even if I love it. I love IH's Black Cat and Pink Rose sets for JID girls, but they don't look like my Adia. If I ever get the Tania on my wishlist, though, I will get them for her. I also try to buy things that have multiple pieces that I can use with something else. Like others, I'd like for each of my dolls to have an outfit that works for each season.

    5. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls?
I've made a point of having at least SOMEthing for each one to wear when s/he arrived, even if I made it myself. The ones who come with fullset outfits usually stay in those for awhile. But I want everyone to have at least one "dress-up" outfit and one or two "casual" outfits, though of course those vary according to appropriate time period. (Like, Tsuki has a beautiful full kimono and hakama set, but that's not dressing up to him--his fancy outfit is his anime cosplay gear. =)

(If you only have one) do your dolls ever feel boring? Do you lose interest in them because you don't spoil or customise them further with clothing? I would certainly get bored if I couldn't change everyone's clothes now and then. I also like to change them according to the weather, or when I'm taking them out. Right now I can't decide on the best look for my new Rebecca, so I've changed her clothes just about every day I've had her.

(If you have many) how many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes? The SD-scale kids tend to share the wardrobe, and mix-and-match as we see who looks best in what. But each one does have a few sets I think of as his/hers:
Sora: 2 outfits, one being his original fullset
Shao: 4 outfits: fullset, Killjoys gear, drag set =), and cosplay costume
Haru: 2 outfits: fullset, and a plain white shirt and jeans
Komori: 4 outfits (one being his "full kitsune" set with mask, fox eyes and tail)
Tsuki: 3 outfits: leather jacket and jeans, kimono and hakama, cosplay costume
Zhumei: 2 outfits: her fullset and her Chinese set (more to come)
Denshou: 1 outfit so far. (Hakama are so convenient for dressing someone with Soom fox paws. =)

Plus a mixed bag of t-shirts, tank tops, leggings. boots etc. that anyone can wear anytime.

Am I biased? I'd say so: when I find a favorite look they tend to keep it for weeks. But I like to change at least one of them every week or so. When will I have too many? When I have something no one ever wears, but it hasn't happened yet =)

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally? I try not to shop impulsively; I don't look at clothing sites unless I have something specific in mind to get. When I do (rarely) decide to go on a clothes binge, I usually make a long list and them winnow it down till I can afford it. But I try to economize by sewing easy things (tank tops, skirts) so everyone has more options.

    6. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls?
Because I'm a little impatient, I tend to buy something basic and inexpensive that my doll would be decent in, while still sticking to how they're supposed to be. I'm not going to buy a less expensive goth outfit if my doll's not goth. I'll buy something inexpensive, but something that 'fits'. And luckily, my doll's from Dollmore, so I bought her something that I knew would fit. Outfits from the company also give me some idea as to how big the outfits should be, if I want to sew.

(If you only have one) do your dolls ever feel boring? Do you lose interest in them because you don't spoil or customize them further with clothing?
She did feel boring for a few reasons:

      • The dress was all I had
      • The dress was too short, and there was really only two poses I could put her in that wouldn't show her underwear.
I had wanted to get her at least a pair of jeans/pants so that I wouldn't have to just have her sitting, with her hands in her lap. I was also really afraid of taking her outside, because she had no protection, otherwise. It was much too much a nightgown, I decided, than an appropriate dress for her character's age (10).

I did sew her a little kimono thing, though.

College makes it hard to sew, though. I haven't done anything since last August as a result. But I finally got some new stuff for her in January.

    7. Unfortunately, their wardrobe is pretty empty. I've always been a person to get dolls before cloths, so naked dollies galore! is pretty much everyday over here. I'm starting pretty simply, I think. One default outfit for each doll. From there, I can build. I buy very intentionally. Sometimes I sew, but my sewing machine isn't wonderful. I do feel like I need to mix it up to go to meet ups, so I try not to ever bring someone in the same outfit twice, which results more in me skipping meet ups than buying new clothes, lol. It's harder, I think, to get motivated to buy clothes that dolls. Especially with the option hanging over your head to sew. Not that either is particularly hard. Everyone wants their boy/girl/something else to look cute. XD

    8. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls? None of my dolls has any one set outfit. But thanks to my past buying habits their wardrobes are still definately closer to the bursting side of the spectrum.

(If you have many) how many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes? Generally, the boys have a number of pieces I mix and match, while the girls each have varying numbers of complete outfits. There are a few outfits in the mix I feel a bit biased towards, but I try to change up the looks of all the dolls more or less every few months or so, usually dependant on the season. It's tough to say exactly how many is too many pieces of clothing. I guess I start to feel that way when I notice there's some pieces I haven't really been able to work into an outfit and so are rarely/never worn.

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally? In the past I was buying pretty much anything that caught my attention at that moment, regardless of quality or how it might become a new outfit or fit into an existing one. That's when I started feeling like I had too many pieces of clothing, and started thinning out my collection. Now I am more careful to buy only things I know will work with what I already have or are already themselves complete outfits. Unless it's a random piece that I totally fall in love with, I will intentionally pass it by.

    9. I generally have one main outfit per doll with several changeable accessories to spice things up a bit. With the exception of my mature 27cm tiny and my pukis and brownie because they're so easy to find clothes for. Weirdly enough I also hoard clothes like a maniac, I have an entire large shopping bag filled with doll clothes. I could probably fill a medium-sized garbage bag about 3/4 of the way full...

    10. No doll yet so very empty. XD

    11. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls? At the moment, Kisho only has two outfits- and one doesn't particularly suit her character well. That military uniform is her "default outfit", but I'm hoping to give her stylistically different "defaults"- her uniform, a kimono, a formal dress, a business suit-style thing, etc.

Do your dolls ever feel boring? Do you lose interest in them because you don't spoil or customise them further with clothing?
I'd like to expand her wardrobe, yes- but she's not boring at all!

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally?
Not-buy intentionally- I am trying to improve my sewing craft, after all!

    12. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls?
I like my dolls having more than one default outfit. I get tired of seeing them in the same outfits all the time, even if they do revert to a favored outfit very often.

(If you have many) how many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes?
My 1/6th dolls have waaaaay more outfits than my 1/3 dolls. But that's because I think that they're just so fun and cute to dress up in cute clothing, whether they're in character or not. xD My 1/3 each have one outfit that belongs to each of them, and they share the Dollheart dress since it looks fantastic on both of them.

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally? When it comes to adorable, well priced outfits for my 1/6th girls, it's really hard to resist impulse buying! I don't impulse buy as much for my 1/3rd girls since they have solid characters with very specific tastes. And by specific I mean very expensive! *_* So usually I buy a few outfits for my little girls instead of one 200$ dress for the big ones.

    13. So much for that plan.... I posted this nearly three years ago and haven't stuck to it (I started the inventory, but didn't get far and still don't have all the bits I intended for all the dolls, and more dolls have joined the family since then too).

I have, however, just put in an order for multiple socks/stockings for the resin gang, so I'm getting there, albeit slowly.

    14. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls?

Oh, they all have multiple outfits. Some more than others. Some share, some do not. Some claim certain pieces as theirs.

(If you only have one) do your dolls ever feel boring? Do you lose interest in them because you don't spoil or customise them further with clothing?

I have 90 and sometimes yes! Sometimes it's just I don't want to change a bunch so they sit in their outfits for months.

(If you have many) how many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes?

Who knows?? I use to change regularly, but with all their clothes put in containers by size and sex, it gets annoying. Usually the smaller ones get changed more than the bigger dolls.

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally? I buy what I like. If one will not wear something, someone else usually will!

    15. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls?

I like to have at least one offit for my dolls. I don't like leaving them naked for my family to see and say something.

(If you have many) how many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes?

I am actually biased towards one particular outfit because more often or not their first offit was the only outfit for a long period of time before the rest. So I mostly dress them in their first outfit. However, when I do feel in a playfull mood I do switch it up. I don't have to many clothes yet however there are some items I do not want anymore so I will sell them to someone else.

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally?

I buy intentionally, especial with my oldest doll. I know what her personalities and what she likes and don't and what looks good on her. so I take time in looking for outfits for my dolls.

    16. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls?
I think I'll be buying several outfits for my dolls. :)

(If you only have one) do your dolls ever feel boring? Do you lose interest in them because you don't spoil or customise them further with clothing?
The few outfits I have for my doll right now are all that I could afford with Christmas just passing, but I hope to get him more so he won't end up boring! If I get to change my wardrobe for the seasons, I think it's only fair that he gets to as well.

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally?

I have general outfits planned for my current and future dolls, but I don't think I'd be against buying clothes on a whim if I really like them and think it suits my their personality.

    17. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls?

I have a general theme for each doll and buy according to the theme. That said I have a lot of stuff outside of the theme too, because I'm addicted to fukubukuro and surprise bags. I'm still fairly new to the hobby but each of my dolls probably has about 4 outfits I like, I haven't started cleaning out the stuff that is off theme for them yet cause I'm scared I'll change my mind lol

(If you only have one) do your dolls ever feel boring? Do you lose interest in them because you don't spoil or customise them further with clothing?

      nope :)
(If you have many) how many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes?
About 4 outfits per doll. When I first started I really wanted a lot of victorian style and lolita style outfits and bought this huge complicated dress. I tend to change their clothes once a week at least, and now I'm leaning towards the clothes that are easier to put on. I love the super expensive dress but putting it on was such a chore, when I get bored and change her outfit next I'll probably stash that dress away for quite a while. Also, more fukubukuro are coming >.> must try new clothes
Do you buy or not-buy intentionally?
It always starts unintentionally. When I bought my first new doll I purchased the complicated dress, and a simple one for more everyday wear. (my other doll is a second hand boy and therefore, in my mind, doesn't need lots of complicated clothes) By the time she arrived I'd already got 3 more packages of clothes from various stores and second hand lol

    18. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls?

I buy/make several generally, though building individual wardrobes vs. building my collection is... well, it's always more of a guideline than a rule. With Vince, I have no set plans, he just gets clothes as he gets them. With Billy, my plan was to just get him everything but ever since my sister made him a super-cute dino costume (with detachable wings that turn it into a dragon costume), he pretty much just wears that. And with Pete, my plan is for him to have basically some default items and not branch out much past one or two outfits.

(If you have many) how many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes?

Pete is the hardest to clothe... so at the moment, he has one pair of pants I really love for him (finally) that fit like a dream and are white that, since I put them on him, have not come off. Vince changes all the time. He has a sort of limited wardrobe, but it contains some good separates. And I guess I have too many clothes for Billy now that he wears his dino costume so exclusively-- my general feeling is you only have too many clothes when you can't afford, store, or enjoy them.

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally?

Semi intentionally, I guess? I mean... some things are planned-- I went searching for pants that would suit Pete with some specific criteria in mind, for example. Most of Vince's wardrobe just happened, though. I'd say at least half his clothes were bought on a total whim, not ordered but in person. One shirt at a doll show, two others that were made for tiny, tiny teacup dogs that I saw in Pet Smart and went gaga over... And then there are the things that are made for dolls or stuffed animals that are approximate fits, which I scan toy stores/aisles for with definite purpose in mind, though what I find doesn't always turn out to be something I can use, so sometimes I don't buy, and other times I buy something for one of my boys because it looks about right, only to find it's a better fit on someone else-- a pair of shorts I THOUGHT I was buying for little Billy turned out to fit VINCE. And they're not at ALL the same size.

(the shorts are quite short on him, of course, and the shirt that was sold with them only fits Billy, but still)

    19. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls?
Each character has a particular outfit. But I also have general pieces that everyone can wear.

(If you have many) how many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes?
Just 1 outfit for each doll. When I get bored I do swap their stuff around just for fun.

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally?
Intentionally. There is a certain look I'm going for so I know what will suit them and what will not.

    20. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls?
I get them one to start with, then I pick up pieces if I see something I like.

(If you only have one) do your dolls ever feel boring? Do you lose interest in them because you don't spoil or customise them further with clothing?
No, they don't ever feel boring to me. I'd rather have their wig and eyes picked out before their clothes so I get a good feeling for their character, so it doesn't bother me too much unless they don't have any clothes whatsoever.

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally?
I buy intentionally. I need to feel confident that it will look good on that particular doll and fit the character. This is probably the reason why most of my dolls only have one outfit, but I'm sure they'll all have more in the future. I'm slowly picking up clothes for them here and there :)

    21. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls?

Depends on the doll. I generally like my dolls to not be naked, but with animal dolls, it doesn't matter so much.

(If you only have one) do your dolls ever feel boring? Do you lose interest in them because you don't spoil or customise them further with clothing?

      N/A

(If you have many) how many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes?

Again, depends. Some of my dolls will like ample wardrobes whereas others will be in need of one outfit and one outfit only.

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally?

Since all of my dolls have characters to meet, I have to say intentionally. There are certain things that are must-haves for my dolls, and others that - even if I like it - my doll would never wear something like that in a zillion years, so I don't buy them.

    22. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls?
I like to think that, if they were real, they'd appreciate having a variety of clothes to choose from, so I tend to go nuts. That said, cashmunny constraints dictate that their wardrobes are kind of lacking...

(If you have many) how many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes?
I like to change them regularly, just like I change my clothes regularly.

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally?
I definitely buy intentionally. My girls have characters, but who's to say those characters don't like a wardrobe change here and there? Just like Sailor Moon, you know. She has so many outfit changes for 'just' a character.

    23. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls?
Definitely several outfits, although some of them do have trademark articles of clothing and/or outfits. Irie, my Dollfie Dream Aoi has her beautiful Angell Studio dress, for example and Hyorin, my minifee Shushu her fluffy sheep hat. Despite the fact they have these they have the rest of their wardrobes also of course.

(If you have many) how many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes?
Depends on the doll, and the number that each of them owns grows in time since I never stop hunting for appropriate clothes for them. I like to be able to change their clothes regularly and especially my minis that are much easier to handle and also own a variety of clothing get to that fairly often, almost weekly if not more.

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally?
Completely intentionally. When I see outfits that match my characters they get added to the wishlist to be eventually purchased if possible.

    24. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls?

One outfit per doll. I only have one doll that is wearing his company default outfit, and that is because it fit my aesthetic perfectly. I am extremely, ridiculously selective on what I want my dolls to be put in. It has taken me almost five years to find the perfect outfit for my DZ Chen. I'm not even joking.

The ONE outfit I buy per doll is usually around the $150-$200 range though (each). So they do get spoiled on this one occasion!

(If you only have one) do your dolls ever feel boring? Do you lose interest in them because you don't spoil or customise them further with clothing?

Nope! For me, my dolls are standing works of art. I don't really "play" with them, or really even pose them. I rarely take pictures of them. Their job is to sit in my room and look pretty, and they do an excellent job of it. I figure its not necessary to have multiple outfits when I barely ever touch them. This is why I am so selective.

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally?

Always. Two of my outfits are from China (Custom made by my favorite seamstress!) and one is from Japan (Volks). And then the default on my one boy is from Korea obviously lol.

    25. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls?

I bought several different outfits with a mix and match feel to all the pieces.

(If you have many) how many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes?

I only have one doll right now, but I decided when I got her that she'd have a full wardrobe before I bought a new doll. I tend to change them often, but I think she's really got just the right amount of clothing.

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally?

I was buying them intentionally, but now that I'm saving up for a new girl I'm trying to stop myself from making any purchases.

    26. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls? It's depended on the doll. Some of mine are really hard to shop for (odd sizes) so that's limited their wardrobe. Everyone has at least one really nice outfit. Some have multiple getups.

(If you only have one) do your dolls ever feel boring? Do you lose interest in them because you don't spoil or customise them further with clothing?
Nah. I'm always working on them in some way even if it's not on a new outfit.

(If you have many) how many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes? Most of mine have one outfit I really like and they spend most of their time in that. I'll change them once in a while on a whim.

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally?
I buy intentionally. I haven't impulse bought much clothing. I think I have more of a problem with impulse buying wigs and eyes. And entire dolls / : |

    27. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls? I buy/make lots of difrent clothes for my girl.

(If you only have one) do your dolls ever feel boring? Do you lose interest in them because you don't spoil or customise them further with clothing? I think it would be very boring.

(If you have many) how many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes? I changes my doll clothes like every day. You can't have too many clothes :D

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally?
I only buy what I need to buy. :)

    28. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls?
My dolls are cosplayers. They cosplay multiple characters. Then they have their own everyday character, who doesn't wear the same clothes all the time anymore than I do myself. One BIG reason I got dolls was to sew for them & to get them things to wear that I'd love but would look ridiculous in.

(If you only have one) do your dolls ever feel boring? Do you lose interest in them because you don't spoil or customise them further with clothing?
It DOES get boring not to change everybody's outfits & I say this because I haven't had the time lately to sew & there are a couple dolls I have which only fit one outfit at the moment. Poor dolls!

(If you have many) how many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes?
OK, wrong person to ask about 'too many' clothes. Cause my criteria on that is, wow am I out of storage space yet?

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally?
Well yeah - I sew a lot actually - & I pick up second-hand things for casual wear but then I have specific things I search all over for (the cosplay mentioned). I plan on doing photo-stories so all of this is done w/a goal in mind!

    29. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls?
During my collecting phase I've definitely been one to buy the doll, get it an outfit, rinse and repeat. Everybody has to have at least one outfit of their own here but I prefer to get everybody home before I start expanding their wardrobes. Usually the dolls have one set of eyes, one outfit, one wig and one pair of shoes when they get there, but there have been exceptions.

(If you only have one) do your dolls ever feel boring? Do you lose interest in them because you don't spoil or customise them further with clothing?
Nope! The beauty of these dolls for me is the characters they can represent. When there's so many photos to take, so many stories to be told and an abundant way of setting them up in places to scare the heck out of people it gets very difficult to be bored of them. I certainly would like to get them more clothing for variety though.

(If you have many) how many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes?
My first, second and fourth dolls have multiple outfits because I've had more time to get them things. I like to change them around every once in a while but there are definitely some pieces I like more than others or that look more 'comfortable' for them to wear on a day to day basis. There's too many clothes when you have nowhere to store them - which is how I think about my own wardrobe, too, come to think of it :sweat

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally?
Yep! I pick only the things that I think my characters would wear. There are some things I love the look of that just wouldn't look right on the dolls that I have.

    30. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls?

      Both actually!
Everyone of them has a default outfit of some sorts, it's usually the one that represents them or their "job" the best. I have two priests for example so their default outfit is their cassock, and when I buy clothes for a doll I try my best to get this default outfit at first and it's also often the one they wear the most or I get back to regulary.
It's also the outfit they NEVER share with any other doll.
After I got this outfit I buy more clothes and outfits that match the doll, but these can be shared with others sometimes when the size fits and the design is not too "totally doll XY".

(If you have many) how many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes?

      I can't really say how much I have :'D
I'd describe it as "A lot but never enough", I have two cabinets for them and everyone has one or two drawers full of clothes and actually every drawer is bursting out of its seams. If you open them the clothes pretty much jump up to you because it's so full. I must admit some of them have pretty big outfits, big as in it's one outfit sewn/designed in a way that makes it take up a lot of space, like reaaaaaally long dresses, but it's mostly really that they have a lot of different pieces.
Also with a lot of dolls it seems like you own a lot more too, if you have 15 dolls and everyone has a pair of pants you suddenly have 15 pairs of pants at home!
In reality it's not much if you look at each doll seperately, because well...it only has one pair of pantsafter all :PI'm usually biased towards one outfit, usually because it describes them the best and it's the one that makes me instantly think of the doll it belongs to, but I also change them regulary. Some dolls more than others though, and some have more clothes than others too, mostly because it's easy to shop for them size and style-wise. And I think you have too much clothes when you really never use them, as in old and maybe damaged stuff you bought years ago or stuff that doesn't even suit your taste or any of your dolls.
I know it's sometimes hard to let go of clothes, but it's sometimes for the best and I'm not a fan of clinging onto unused stuff for too long. I had a few things I owned for years and never used them but also wasn't able to give away till I realized they are just taking away space for things I'd actually like and would use, so I tossed them out/finally sold them.So it's too much for me if you just pile up stuff you never want to use/don't even like in the end. If you like/use everything you own there is never a too much ;)

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally?

Yes, I'm someone who likes to plan things, sometimes long ahead the actual buying of a doll the clothes will be for (either because I lacked an actual doll idea or just the money for the planned doll), but I also have a few things I decided for myself not to buy, even if I wanted them very much. I like DH Fers for example but all the ones I owned ended up being sold after a while, I'm just not meant to own them, and some outfits that are "just pretty" but would never be used here. I know there are a few styles and outfits I love to look at but would end up never using for a doll or doll concept, so I try to avoid the "oooh pretty" feeling as good as possible and only buy stuff that is pretty AND useful.

    31. I make holiday themed clothes lol. And they have PJ's. But I don't put the dolls to bed. They sit around in them.

    32. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls?
Generally, I make about 95% of my dolls clothes. I try for everybody having at least one outfit but it doesn't always work out that way.

(If you only have one) do your dolls ever feel boring? Do you lose interest in them because you don't spoil or customise them further with clothing?
Nope, clothes don't make the doll for me. It can help, but i don't see dressing them a particular way as customizing them.

(If you have many) how many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes?
I have a lot of clothes and a lot of odd-sized dolls which, by their odd size means that they have clothes that are specific for them and won't fit others (or won't fit properly may be a better statement). Some dolls have an overflowing closet. Some have one or two. I have one doll that doesn't have any, but that's more because he just refuses to wear clothes despite my trying to get him into something so he's not prancing around naked.

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally?
I very rarely buy things since most everything is sewn by me. There are a few outfits that I've seen that I like and would work for certain dolls and I might talk myself into buying it, but that would be only if I'd tried and failed to make something similar.

    33. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls? I typically try and get them each 1 very nice outfit, but more often than not they share clothes and take and give from various complete outfit sets and mix n' match piles.

(If you only have one) do your dolls ever feel boring? Do you lose interest in them because you don't spoil or customise them further with clothing? I customize the heck out of mine short of new faceups most of the time, new wig, eyes, clothes, etc. And even if I dont change their clothes all that often, they're never really boring because I tend to give them personalities as well.

(If you have many) how many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes?
I have at least 1-2 specific to that particular girl, I do tend to be biased to skirts and street casuals, but not a hard rule by any means. And I never have too many clothes!

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally? I buy intentionally, but I'd prefer if I could get off of that so often and get back to learning to make my own.

    34. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls?
Lots of outfits! I'm a bit of a clothes horse myself (and love costumes and period clothing!) and so are my dolls. In fact, I have even bought outfits for dolls that I don't own yet! I also like to sew for them and use them as models. I guess I live vicariously through them. I put them in things I would love to wear myself!

(If you have many) how many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes?
Well, right now, I only have one BJD and she already has 5 or 6 outfits. I've tried them all on her, but tend to keep her in one outfit for a month or so. If it is a real favorite, maybe a season. To me, the clothes are part of the hobby. Can you have too many? If they become clutter or sit in storage and collect dust for too long, maybe. For my fashion dolls, I try to apply the same rule as I do my own clothes - If I haven't worn it in a two or three years, it's time to let it go.

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally?
A little of both. Sometimes, I will tirelessly hunt for weeks for the right outfit or pieces to create a certain look I have in mind. Other times, I'll just happen to come across some gorgeous period gown or pirate garb that I can't say no to. :)

    35. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls?
I like to have several different outfits for my dolls. I like the chance to change outfits if I want.

(If you have many) how many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes?
I don't really know how many outfits I have for each of my dolls. I do like to own many tops and pants so I can mix and match. No, I'm not biased toward any particular outfit. When do I have to many clothes? Probably when I can't store them all.

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally?
Both. I do have things that I might want for my dolls and I will look out for them, otherwise I have been known to stumble across clothing that I like and get.

    36. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls?

All of my dolls have at least one "default" outfit, one that is absolutely theirs, the one they wear most often and no other doll would ever wear. Megumi has two: her "Western" gear (brocade jacket, halter top, jeans, boots) and her sky-blue kimono. Belle has her "swamp gypsy" outfit in purple-plum colors. Ashe has her biker jacket, distressed jeans and wifebeater. Miyae has her lavender sweater and green khakis. Even Chaeri, who has more clothes than any of the others, has a default outfit: her crossbone heart sweater and jeans with white trainers striped with pink and black.

(If you only have one) do your dolls ever feel boring? Do you lose interest in them because you don't spoil or customise them further with clothing?

I haven't lost interest in any of my dolls, although Chaeri claims most of my attention these days. I still interact with my other dolls, just not to the same extent.

(If you have many) how many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes?

I literally could not count how many clothes Riri has. Ashe has the fewest outfits, maybe half a dozen, but she wears her biker gear 99 percent of the time. Megumi has both kimono/yukata and Western clothing, and swaps back and forth. Miyae prefers sporty, outdoorsy clothes, things she can move in. Belle favors long skirts and laced corsets. And Chaeri is my little fashion chameleon, she'll wear just about anything. She has a suitcase and several boxes full of clothes, and that doesn't even count the cosplay and lolita outfits!

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally?

....Not even sure what this means. About half of the clothes my kids wear are store- or internet-bought, the other half I make.

    37. So far I have one doll, two sets of leggings and two stretch tops so the poor guy wouldn't be nekkid until I got costumes made. Being a costumer for real-size people, I suspect that I will be making numerous outfits for this doll and the ones that follow. Sincerely doubt I will buy any more clothing (with the exception of shoes) because most everything I see I say "I can make that!"

    38. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls?

I usually buy lots of different outfits because it's kinda boring if they only have one!

(If you only have one) do your dolls ever feel boring? Do you lose interest in them because you don't spoil or customise them further with clothing?

When I start losing interest, I tend to sew more stuff for them, so they don't really get boring.
(If you have many) how many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes?

I have a couple outfits for each doll. They normally wear the same outfits though. I put them in the prettiest outfits then change them for photos and stuff. There's no such thing as too many clothes!
Do you buy or not-buy intentionally?

I buy stuff if it fits my dolls' characters.

    39. It honestly depends on which doll...Avalon has a few outfits, Kazumi has maybe four..Vala a few...I need to work on their wardrobes more.

    40. My MSD's all have tons of clothes because they can raid my bigger fashion doll's wardrobe and find a lot that fits. With the exception of shoes, and even there I've been able to make it work somewhat, a lot of my Tonner type stuff works just as well for BJD's as stuff made for them. My poor SD's on the other hand have a very limited wardrobe. My girls I have some stuff that fits, but my guys are all totally naked awaiting me making them some stuff.

    41. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls?
Several outfits, and anything I see that I feel "fits" them inevitably becomes theirs as well.

How many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes?
There's no set amount per doll, because like I said, anything I feel "fits" them becomes theirs.. and I always love making or buying more for them, too.

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally?
Depends. I like certain styles which can be difficult to find, so I prefer to make... but sometimes I find stuff I love that I have to have, so I buy it.

    42. Just to add my grain of sand to a nice topic^^.

Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls?

I have many outfits for nearly all my dolls. Some share outfits and accesoires, because they have a similar style, other can not, mainly because of size.

(If you only have one) do your dolls ever feel boring? Do you lose interest in them because you don't spoil or customise them further with clothing?

Only one of my boys has one set of clothing, and that is simply because I'm a lazy a**. He will have his wardrobe of black charisma one day, but at the moment ge is hanging around in one set... It's a very nice set, I love it, but over time, and if I start photographing them again, it will get boring. (the clothes issue, not the doll^^)

(If you have many) how many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes?

Each of my boys has a wardrobe/closet of their own. I'm not based on one outfit, just have some I like more^^. The ones I like less will eventually go over time. But I'm base on who gets new outfits. I have this spoiled little brat that got here first, and he has massive amounts of clothes. When is it to much? The moment you can not close the closet anymore. Then it's time to get things out, even if they are "Oh so cool".

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally?
      To clarify, I don't buy.
I do myselve or let do in swaps. And yes international is fine.

    43. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls?
Oh, I buy quite a few, but I guess I always have favourite outfits for different dolls.

How many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes?
My dolls share their clothes....Oh no, never too many outfits...as long as they are all nice and not just bought for the sake of adding a new outfit!...If I really like a outfit on a particular doll she may stay in it for a while, but I do like to change them all as regular as I can.

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally?
I buy Internationally nearly all of the time..I am from the UK and you don't find many nice outfits for dolls, well Fairyland dolls, in the UK :-/

    44. I have several outfits for my doll and I hope to buy more thought most of my doll's outfits are black. Changing of outfits for me takes place every 2 weeks approx. I buy intentionally for the most part. I'm more interested in accessories and not as interested in buying tops (I like my male doll topless). :D

    45. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls?
Most of my dolls have a default outfit. Now before they get said outfit they may wear some generic stuff just so they're not naked. Syd has never taken off her outfit since I got it for her. I've taken her jacket off once or twice but that's it. When I get Maria done she'll probably have a few outfits. The vocalist she's based on has a number of different styles and I can't pick just one lol.

How many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes? As mentioned in the previous question, I typically only have one outfit. I think of them as like anime/cartoon characters in that they have the same outfit to better identify them (if that makes sense? lol)

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally?
Doesn't matter to me. Syd and Zoey's outfit (minus the shoes and Syd's jacket) all came from Dollmore. But usually when I buy international I try to get in a GO to save money on shipping.

    46. I love buying doll clothing. Sometimes I think I own dolls simply to justify buying doll clothing. XD

For me, "too many" outfits would have to be based on space constraints and owning outfits I don't actually like. At this point, space constraints haven't become a problem and I like all of the outfits I currently own. I don't aim for any specific number or variety of outfits per doll; I just buy what I like when I like it and can afford it. I think I have at least 5 outfits per doll, but some of my dolls can fit in the same outfits, and I don't know what's the highest number of outfits per doll that I have.

Even with that, I don't necessarily change their outfits frequently or on a regular basis. I only change their clothing when it suits my fancy to see them wearing something else.

    47. Each of my dolls have at least two outfits and some various odds and ends to change up their look. I wouldn't say my doll wardrobe was bursting, but it isn't empty either. I change up what the dolls are wearing every few weeks.

My SDs actually share most of their clothing, since they can wear the same size things.

I do have a few outfits that I come back to over and over, but only on certain dolls.

I only had a few items of clothing for a while, and it was a bit boring. I also felt bad because my dolls did not have a lot.

But now, I feel pretty good and will try to stop getting clothes for a while. I'm planning a buy hiatus where I focus more on doing things with the dolls, and clothing should be a part of it.

    48. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls?
Both my dolls have multiple outfits! I buy many separates and mix-and-match!

(If you only have one) do your dolls ever feel boring? Do you lose interest in them because you don't spoil or customize them further with clothing?
Umm, to me this is kind of like, you can go to New York and be "Woah! So bright and busy!" or move to New York and be "Just another day." If I see my dolls wearing the same outfit all the time, it gets boring though "It's so cute!" the first time they wear it. My dolls have a small wardrobe so far which means they get spoiled a bunch!

(If you have many) how many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes?
If their clothes start not fitting into the box I have for them, we have too many clothes ^^' I have certain pieces I like best but change is good!

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally?
If I have extra money, I go around and search for things to get randomly. ^^'

    49. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls?
I always try to determine a particular style and have multiple outfit in this style

(If you only have one) do your dolls ever feel boring? Do you lose interest in them because you don't spoil or customize them further with clothing?
I can not imagine keeping a single outfit, I think I really get tired very quickly

(If you have many) how many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes?
There is always one that I love more than others but that does not prevent me from doing a variety of tests. when I have too many clothes? lol when I need a new larger box for storing all and a new one and a new one ...

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally?
a bit of both ...it all depends on my wallet

    50. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls?
Yes! But only default outfit which I think suit my doll well or I totally like it. It's usually that it isn't a default one from my dolls but from other dolls. I keep them all together with my others which I buy them or make by myself. I haven't sold any default outfit which I bought yet because I really do like them. But for general clothing or my handmade one, I may consider to sell one day! :D

(If you only have one) do your dolls ever feel boring? Do you lose interest in them because you don't spoil or customise them further with clothing?
Not at all, because if I feel boring, I will just make a new one for them by myself. I like sewing, so more than half of their clothing are from me.

(If you have many) how many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes?
I don't know how many per doll because some of them can wear them together because of their style and size. And some of my dolls have more than 20 clothing but some don't have their own completed one yet. I change them regularly, about every 2 week or more often, up to occasion (meeting, holidays, etc). I guess I have a bit too many handmade clothing and my mom always says that I should sell some off, so that I can make a new one. Haha :D

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally?
      I buy them intentionally.

    51. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls?
I have several outfits for my dolls but I do try and buy each one their own item for a theme. So for example until very recently I only had 2 girls and I got them both a kimono, I have a boy who is a birthday gift (roll on next month so I can have him!) who came with a samurai outfit but I bought myself a boy and my husband bought me another boy as a birthday gift so I now need to get either kimonos or samurai outfits for the 2 boys. I also bought a lolita style dress and then immediately bought another (same colour but different style) so my girls would match/be even.

(If you have many) how many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes?
My dolls all share clothes, even the boy and girls (so the girls may wear his shirt and he may borrow their jacket etc), I don't specifically select certain clothes for certain dolls but some just look better on some of them or fit better (particularly as one girl is a minifee). I do the same with the wigs I have, they share all of the wigs but one of the blonde wigs is smaller then the other so fits on the minifee, a long pink wig I have is a bit big on my minifee but looks great on my other girl (see my avatar pic). I think they will have too many clothes when several items do not get worn at all but so far they have a nice selection without it being too much.

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally?
I am always looking, I keep saying no more (particularly as I've just had lots comissioned for them) but then something catches my eye, like yesterday I bought a fishnet shirt that will look great on one of my birthday boys, then I got some leather pants because I think it will look good with the shirt and the cutest little hoodie with ears on for the girls. I keep telling myself no more but I still keep on looking lol

    52. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls?
I like to have several outfits for my dolls (hence my answer below) but I also want to change the style of my dolls.

(If you have many) how many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes?
It's not that I have THAT many clothes, but I have no idea how many outfits I have per doll. I collect 62cm-65cm boys so they can swap clothes. They each have their own look so, yes I would be biased toward dressing them in their style. But I do change their outfits fairly often, some more than others - just because they have more clothes that fit or suit them.

As far as too many clothes…I was really feeling that way for a while until more dolls got added to the collection. So I don't need to worry about buying anything but the doll. There are some clothes I haven't put my dolls in a long time - so I think I have too many. And since all of my dolls are fully dressed and I still have a ton of pants, shirts, sweaters, shoes that I could change them into; probably enough to clothe another 10 dolls, I do think I have too many. I don't want 10 more dolls for sure...

99% of the outfits my dolls have are from companies outside of the US.

    53. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls?

I try to get several outfits for my dolls so I can change their style and explain their stories more fluidly.

(If you have many) how many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes?

I have 2-3 'good' outfits per doll. They usually get changed about once a month when it's time for a meetup.
Too many clothes? There is no such thing! I want more!

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally?

Tough question. The marketplace is too strong; I'm sucked in and have to buy things! ><

    54. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls?

I like for all of my dolls to have several outfits that are theirs personally.

(If you have many) how many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes?

My minimum is 5 shirts, 3 bottoms, underwear, 2 pairs of shoes, and accessories for each dolls, these things being specifically THEIRS and only theirs. There is no limit on how many they can have, some of them *cough*Dhani*cough* have around 30 shirts and 10 or more bottoms. If they're a favorite doll, or have been with me a long time, or are very easy to sew for, they tend to get more. If I'm not too sure if they'll be staying, or they have a very specific style that's hard to shop or sew for, they have much less. There are also some clothing pieces that get shared. I have over 30 dolls and there's no point in buying multiples of the same basic clothing pieces (like blank tshirts/tanks, basic jeans, etc) when they can share. Only exception is if several dolls need to match at one time.
They get changed somewhat regularly, some more than others, but there usually is one outfit I like best for each of them. I try not to have them in it too much, though, so it doesn't get boring.
You can never have "too many" clothes! :D

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally?

I intentionally try to make every doll have their minimum clothing amounts. But I often end up with "accidental" clothes, when I buy for one and it fits another better, or find the perfect fabric for something I hadn't considered making, or get offered random things in trades, or gifted things from friends or at meets, or surprised with freebies when I buy a doll. With so many dolls with differing styles, unless it's extreme fantasy or costume, chances are somebody in the house can use it, so not much gets sold unless I sell off all dolls that can wear it. (It kind of broke my heart to sell off some of the mature mini clothes I had hoarded for years, but since I have no plans to ever own another mature mini, they had to go.)

      Several different outfits.
I love to have variety. I don't have a default outfit for either doll just like I don't have a default outfit for myself.

(If you have many) how many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes?
I have 2 full outfits for my minifee and 1 full outfit for my SD (2 more on the way) with random pieces I can mix and match. I also will use my SD's tops as dresses for my MSD and I will use my MSD's stockings as knee high's on the SD. I like to change my dolls regularly. I don't think I can have too many clothes, wigs, shoes etc for them. I like to switch things up.

If I see something I love and I have the money, I generally buy it. Whether I NEED it or not is another story...

    56. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls?
Sadly, money wise the trend is my dolls have one default outfit each, at least. My oldest doll (Souldoll Miryu) has the outfit she came in, which oddly wasn't BJD clothes, but from another doll of a similar size, and a pair of black boots. I found a 2 outfit bundle on ebay from a BJD clothes maker I loved at the time and bought that plus a pair of panda shoes, and one of the outfits she's worn ever since. My Dollzone Megi+ ugly floating head came in a cat onesie, with a fantasy set of clothing extra. He wears the outfit and Miryu's original boots still. My B&G Sapphira came with a white robe and the victorian outfit he currently has on....and that's that. B&G Leile came nekkid, lol. So....mom brought me some small doll clothes from I'm assuming the toy store, and that's what she currently wears. XD

(If you only have one) do your dolls ever feel boring? Do you lose interest in them because you don't spoil or customise them further with clothing?
Poor Sapphira. HE actually does feel boring. I do love his clothes, but they aren't fit for the kind of elf I want him to be. He just sits there for now, with his pretty teal pupil-less eyes knowing he has plans, but no money or time. XD

(If you have many) how many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes?
Like I said above...my Miryu has the most. And I am fixated on one because it's so darn cute on her! I just wish the lace fit her, erm...chest better. >_< And there is no such thing as too many clothes for a loved doll! MONEY is the PROBLEM. XD

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally?

Intentionally only because they are expensive. I have a lack of clothing for myself, so sometimes it comes down to an outfit for a doll or a pair of jeans for me. Which is weird because I'm so much bigger! However, my coming Unoa Sist already has two outfits, two pairs of boots, 3 wigs, and a set of eyes coming for her...It's for my birthday, dang it.

    57. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls?

All my dolls have more than one outfit; I have three fabric covered boxes in which I store each size. Some are full sets, others are just mix and match pieces. Dolls of the same size share outfits, though at this time, I have only 6 human dolls.

(If you have many) how many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes?

I have 8 full sets, 4 pairs of shoes, and 2 pairs of bloomers in Yo size, but I only have one doll in this size: a Custom House Ange Ai Uri. Consequently, she's my oldest doll.

I have 9 MSD sized outfits and 9 pairs of shoes, and 3 dolls in this size, though one is slimmer than the other two.

I have 10 SD sized outfits, 2 coats, and one set of underwear for 2 SD sized dolls very similar in proportion and size to the Volks SD10's. So, most of the outfits are Volks outfits, which I adore. They have 7 pairs of shoes, though some belonged to dolls that I've sold and are too slim to fit my current dolls.

I do have favorite outfits, though truth be told, I just change them when the mood strikes me. Sometimes I keep them in the same outfit for over half a year, sometimes for only a few days or so.

I will have too many clothes when I can no longer store them. :)

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally?

Believe it or not, I don't consider it a necessity to have clothes for my dolls; I just get them when I get them. So, I guess I've never looked at sites with intention, thinking: ok, I have to get this and that for this doll.

When I have the time (usually during the summer), I go around to my favorite doll sites and see what's new, and if the mood strikes me, I buy them. Volks releases is the only one that I follow with some regularity, so I have had some impulse purchases with them.

    58. I should mention this.

I have 2 MNFs incoming, along with another body for a floating head, also a MNF. They are sharing a small photo box from Michaels Crafts store, and it is nearly over flowing! However their wigs are also in there so I think that might account for the space being taken up. But I have bought another box for them since that one is overflowing. Just so many cute MNF items out there!

    59. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls?
No they both have multiple outfits. Each one has to have their original or cannon outfits before I'd consider them done because they are both existing characters. For Souji at least, that is as many as 6 or 7 outfits!

How many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes?
I don't limit the amount of clothing each gets but Deidara's body is harder to buy for so he has a little less. I change them just because I feel like it and also to match the season. I also don't think they'll ever have too many clothes because like, when does a person consider that they themselves have too many clothes? XD I like changing their outfits!

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally?
I'm not sure I understand this question. If you mean like on a whim or planned, I usually buy them because I planned it and the only time I would buy on a whim is because it was limited and it was nessecary for the character.

    60. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls?
      It depends on the doll, really. I like character dolls, so dolls like that will usually have a default outfit. I'm planning on buying a doll or two that won't have a "set character" and I'll play "dress-up" with them, but I have a feeling they may end up in one outfit most of the time anyway ^^;;

(If you only have one) do your dolls ever feel boring? Do you lose interest in them because you don't spoil or customise them further with clothing?
No, I don't ever feel bored with them. I like to play with them and take pictures of them and just hang out with them in general, and I don't think their outfit would ever bore me.

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally?
I buy outfits very intentionally. I commissioned my two non-oc character's outfits, and everyone else's I've scoured the internet and craft stores for, or at least fabric for them. It's the same when I buy wigs; I'll look around everywhere until I find the perfect one. Sometimes, there are clothes I find along the way that I like too much to pass up, and they inspire ideas for new outfits and dolls to wear them (one of my recent yo-sd's outfits consists of a coat, skirt, and shoes that I bought around 9 or 10 months prior to receiving him, and during that time I bought the eyes and some of the accessories without him even having formed in my mind yet. Other parts were just things that I had bought along the way).
