Your doll's wardrobe: Empty or Bursting?

Jan 31, 2011

    1. I've been wondering lately, how many people have set outfits for a doll and who buy and buy and buy *_*

      My questions really, are:

Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls?

(If you only have one) do your dolls ever feel boring? Do you lose interest in them because you don't spoil or customise them further with clothing?

(If you have many) how many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes?

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally?

I've read the threads about where people store their clothes and people that dress dolls in pyjamas for bed or in different clothes depending on the season and I find it really interesting. I think I'm so addicted to buying dolls that I really struggle buying other things for the ones I have. I realised that I find it much more fun to change outfits when I like, but after finding one outfit that I love, I find it so difficult to find another I like as much!! Does anyone else feel like this?

    2. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls?
I have items that get shared, and items specific to certain dolls. As I have several sizes of doll, this means I have lots of clothes. And I did a weeding-out a few months ago, too :sweat.

(If you only have one) do your dolls ever feel boring? Do you lose interest in them because you don't spoil or customise them further with clothing?
In the cases where I have only one or a couple of outfits for a specific doll, I get frustrated with that. I do like to change their outfits now and again because I get bored easily.

(If you have many) how many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes?
I don't know how many I have per doll, as it varies. I have certain outfits that I especially like for a certain doll, that are really in character, but even so I like to change them around. I think I may have too many clothes now! And yet I still feel I'm missing many crucial pieces.

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally?
I'm trying to be more systematic about it. I used to buy for low price and versatility, or on impulse. I'd now rather have fewer pieces that are better quality and really in character. So both buying and intentional not-buying are going on :).

    3. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls?
All my dolls have one default outfit pretty much (except for one). Sometimes I get them a new better outfit and sell the old one (or try to at least xD ).

(If you only have one) do your dolls ever feel boring? Do you lose interest in them because you don't spoil or customise them further with clothing?
Sometimes I get bored, but mainly because I feel their outfit doesn't suit them anymore. This doesn't happen that often tho and it depends on the doll. Some dolls just hold on to an outfit with dear life and others don't know how fast they can get out of one.

(If you have many) how many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes?
I think you have too many clothes if you forget you own a certain thing, which is my case. Like I said before, I 'replace' outfits rather than add to the closet, but alot of old outfits just somehow never make it out of there. And I do sometimes find something I had forgotten I'd had.

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally
If I feel the outfit still suits my girl I won't buy anything new, unless I find something that just screams at me xD

I noticed I find it difficult to have multiple outfits for one doll. I have 6 dolls and one on the way, and if one doll has 6 outfits, and another only has one, I feel bad. I feel as if I'm not enjoying that certain doll as much as the first. I also am not able to 'equally' love outfits. A doll can have a basic outfit and a sleep outfit, but I can't like them both as much. I will like one more than the other and the doll will end up in the one I like better and then we're back to start xD

    4. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls?

I like to be able to change their clothes, but the order I do things in depends. Sometimes I'll make sure that everybody has something to wear and then move on to another doll, other times I'll go through a spell where I just buy clothes.

(If you only have one) do your dolls ever feel boring? Do you lose interest in them because you don't spoil or customise them further with clothing?

I don't tend to just have one outfit per doll, but I have some that don't change as often -- a few fan dolls that really don't have a variety. I don't find them boring, I do other stuff with them. Plus, since I have some dolls that are real clothes horses, I can play dress up with them.

(If you have many) how many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes?

I usually have clumps of dolls that have similar tastes and share clothing. I also like to have separates that can be mixed and matched into several different outfit combos, so I can't really give a number. I change the girls fairly regularly. I'll clean out the dolly closets when I feel like I have stuff that isn't the quality or style that I really want, and can replace those items with new and better pieces. So far I have not gotten to the point where I feel like I have overall too many clothes.

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally?

I usually have a plan in mind when I go clothes shopping -- I know what I want and need for various individuals. What order I do things in depends on who I'm in the mood to work on and how hard certain items are to get.

    5. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls?
My dolls generally don't share clothes (I have the all the clothing divided into drawers, and each drawer is labeled with the name of the doll those articles of clothing "belong" to), but neither do they just stay in one outfit all the time.

(If you have many) how many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes?
Some of my dolls are easier to find clothing for than others, and so those dolls tend to have more clothing. But all of my dolls have several outfits, and many of them have dozens. Their clothing would change much more often if I had the patience to wrestle with it (and them) more frequently. I don't have "too many" articles of doll clothing, so I can't answer the last part of this question.

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally?
I have never accidentally ordered an outfit. :?

    6. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls?
Jasper and Jehn definitely don't have one set outfit! Scout doesn't really but she doesn't have many clothes yet either... She has at least two day-to-day outfits though and I try to find anything I can for her to wear so she's more of a "several different outfits" doll. Quinn, however, seems to only want to wear one set outfit. (He used to have only one outfit before I bought him a Dollheart outfit. Now all he wears is the Dollheart outfit. -shrugs-)

(If you only have one) do your dolls ever feel boring? Do you lose interest in them because you don't spoil or customise them further with clothing?
Actually, I don't mind that Quinn only has the one outfit. It's a really nice outfit and looks good on him so I have no complaints! He doesn't bore me either (possibly because I have other dolls to dress up) but also because it's just in his character to stick to his one suit. xD

(If you have many) how many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes?
For my other dolls, I don't really have any "set" outfits. Jehn and Jasper have a small suitcase full of stuff (they share it with the others but most of the things inside belong to them) so I just mix-and-match from there. I change them pretty much every time I take them out for photos. I'd say I have too many clothes when I no longer have any room for them. xP

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally?
Uh... I'm not really much of a buyer actually. I tend to wait ages before actually buying anything. If I ever see a garment for one of my dolls that I'd like, I add it to my bookmarks and then I'll maybe buy it months later.

    7. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls?

My dolls have favourite clothes or outfits, but I have several shelves of stacked boxes crammed with clothes for them (boxed by doll size and gender), so they have a choice of what to wear and I change them for meets and occasions or just when I'm playing with them.

(If you have many) how many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes?

My girls have more outfits and clothes generally than my boys, mainly because there are such a range and variety of girl styles. Whereas for boys there's precious little choice in the styles I like - especially boy outfits that I like enough to put my boys in in the right sizes with all he details right (I refuse to spend a fortune on an outfit, that has parts I don't like or would need to change to make them right - If I'm spending that much money, the outfit needs to be right, not just mostly-right).

Plus, I prefer making girls clothes to boys clothes so my boys are neglected in that department too.

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally?

I buy intentionally, but too randomly - I realized when I tried to dress all of my gang in their "best" for an end-of year group photo' that I was struggling to find entire outfits and shoes to dress them all in their best at the same time... and the same would go for dressing them casually, especially the boys. Not enough jeans to go around, not enough casual shoes in the right sizes... not enough socks even.

I have too much trouble remembering what I need in which size for which doll so have made a resolution to take an inventory and create a minimum kit requirement checklist for each doll, so they will each have a minimum of one full good outfit and one full casual outfit before I spend any more money on more dolls.

    8. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls?
I create my doll characters specifically to be able to wear multiple outfits. It's part of the fun for me...the idea of each of them having their own specific style to create clothing for. It's part of my enjoyment of the hobby...part of the ongoing creative challenge for me. My resin crew has a limited number (basically as many unique display areas as I can fit into my home...one for each doll.) Their outfits can be stored safely away, so there's no limit to my creativity there. I can sew on forever if my heart desires!

(If you have many) how many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes?
Each outfit adds to the depth of my dolls' individual characters, so there is no limit. I'll never have too many as long as I'm enjoying the hobby.

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally?
Other than shoes, I seldom buy at all because I can sew or get involved in a swap for something new at anytime. But when I'm making something new, it always has a deliberate intent and purpose and is never un-intentional.

    9. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls?

Well, right now I only have one doll, and she has several different outfits. But I am planning on getting others with the same body. While to some extent they will share, they'll also probably need different wardrobes, as they do have different styles.

(If you have many) how many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes?

I'm not exactly sure how many outfits my girl has (which is probably a bad sign), but I've sewn her two fairly nice outfits, as well as a couple really sloppy pieces, and she has about four that are storebought. I do tend to be a little biased towards my nice sewn ones, so she's mostly in either her school uniform or Star Trek uniform. But I do get bored with them sometimes, since they're kinda specific, so I'll put her in her more general clothes then. If she gets a new outfit, she tends to stay in that for a long time.

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally?

Well, I'm very cheap, so I tend to either buy mass-produced doll clothing (there's one brand whose clothes my girl can wear) or sew my own. :sweat I think I'd only really buy her clothes online if there was a very specific or complicated outfit I wanted.

    10. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls? I was just talking to a friend today about a pricey new dressed limited doll, that I would hate committing so much money to one set look as I enjoy changing what my dolls are wearing.

(If you only have one) do your dolls ever feel boring? Do you lose interest in them because you don't spoil or customise them further with clothing?
I enjoy looking at my dolls all the time, & every month or two I enjoy changing their look. Not because I find them boring but because I really find the creative surprise of changing their look a big part of my "play".

(If you have many) how many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes?
My outfits are split up only as SD, MSD & Male & female. Some of my dolls seem to prefer either a more modern or historical or fantasy style, but they've all been known to try something different. Shall even borrowed a sweater from the boys' pile when it got cold. But there's no way the boys are going to try on any of the girls' clothes, besides they won't fit! Every so often I notice my clothes bin is getting pretty full & have pulled out a few things to sell or give away but the last time I tried to do this, everything that's left I really like or have an attachment to.

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally?
Since I can sew, it has to be a really striking outfit or else a price that's better than the time I'd take making it. Wigs & shoes are my shopping downfall.

    11. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls?
Most all my dolls have 1 outfit, there are a few dolls that multiple outfits.

(If you only have one) do your dolls ever feel boring? Do you lose interest in them because you don't spoil or customise them further with clothing?
The doll's personality is what makes the doll interesting, not the clothes. It's just in the personality of one of my dolls to have lots of clothes. (Just as one has a bunch of purses but the other dolls borrow them).

(If you have many) how many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes?
Most dolls have 1 outfit. I have a few outfits that I just bought because they are pretty and I'll put various dolls in the outfits, or the outfit will look soo good on a doll it becomes sort of attached to them. But mostly dolls stick to their one outfit. However i do have a drawer of clothing and they will get changed into the 'general clothing', but usually go back to 'their outfit' after some amount of time. I don't know if there is a thing as 'to much clothes'.

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally?
Due to the 'theme' of my collection there is alot of stuff I can avoid buying, because it doesn't fit my family. But I still do have outfits that don't exactly fit the theme and use them for photoshoots and just beause. Having kimonos around as 'emergency new dolly is naked and needs clothing' is great.

    12. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls?
It depends on the dolls some are more spoiled than others. Some dolls only have one outfit ... others have two ... and then there is my first doll with around eight different outfits.

(If you only have one) do your dolls ever feel boring? Do you lose interest in them because you don't spoil or customise them further with clothing?
I would not say that they are boring as the outfits I have suite them well. I am looking to get them more outfits, its just finding the right things for them that is the hard part.

(If you have many) how many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes?
      Four dolls: One outfit each
      Two dolls: Two outfits each
One doll: Eight...? Wow, did not realize she had that much!

I am a bit biased towards one outfit as it works well with her wings, bit she changes back and forth between her others enough.

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally?

I used to be a horrible impulse buyer when it came to clothing, especially when my dolls characters were not as cemented as they are now. Now I am find myself VERY particular about what I buy.

    13. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls?

It varies, depending on the doll. A few of mine have one or two outfits that suit them so perfectly that I don't feel the need to find or make them anything else. Others have more extensive wardrobes of their own or share from a common "pool" of outfits that suit the style I've picked for them.

(If you only have one) do your dolls ever feel boring? Do you lose interest in them because you don't spoil or customise them further with clothing?

Nope. If the doll looks Just Right in the one outfit they wear, I don't feel any particular need to change them. There are always others here to do that kind of thing with.

(If you have many) how many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes?

That depends on the doll and the specific types of things they wear. Amber, for instance, I keep in very ornate, 18th-century style outfits. He's the only doll here who wears that sort of thing and they tend to be very pricey and hard to find, so he has a very limited number of them. I only switch which one he's wearing every couple of months. Tien Jen, on the other hand, is one of the many dolls in my crew who typically wears traditional Chinese-style outfits. I change his every couple of weeks, and can choose from the shared, common pool of outfits of that type that I've made or collected over the last five years. They aren't "his" alone, but there are dozens of the things to pick from...

In either case, there are always going to be favorites. Some outfits from the collective pool look better on one doll than the others. Some outfits from a given doll's specific wardrobe are used more often than the others... That's just the nature of the beast. The only way I can see of having "too many" is running out of space to store them properly.

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally?

Well, yes... I buy outfits very intentionally. Clicking that "Pay Now" button isn't an accidental slip.

If what you're really asking is more like "Do I buy items specificly for one doll or just in general?", then the answer is still yes. I do both. Sometimes I'll pick an outfit because it suits one doll in the collection, and I know it'll be their's exclusively, like Amber's suits. Many times, though, I'll just come across something that I like and know would fit well in the "general collection". Any of my dolls may end up wearing those if the style is appropriate.

All of that said, I don't think there's any "right" way of doing things when it comes to picking extras. I consider myself a collector of dolls' outfits almost as much as I am a collector of the dolls themselves... But that may not work for everyone. I know a fair number of dolly minimalists, who are all about finding the One True Look for each of their dolls and leaving it at that.

    14. When it comes to outfits, I'm one of the buy, buy, buy types:blush
I find I'm happier with fewer dolls I can spoil than many dolls I feel like I'm scrimping to dress the way I want.
I have a much longer wishlist of specific Volks and Dollheart outfits than I do of dolls and have spent several times more on my dolls clothes than what the dolls themselves cost.
Oddly enough I don't change them that regularly, they sometimes sit in the same outfit for a couple months. I tend to change them for meetups (which I don't go to so often anymore), when I get something new, on random whims, or around holidays.
I've joked before that I collect outfits and just have dolls so I have something to wear them.
Really though, I didn't start this way, but the clothes have become a large part of the hobby for me over the years and are what have kept me interested.
I do find that my interest in clothes dies down a little when I do really want a new doll.
I recently let 3-4 outfits on my wishlist slip by because I'm saving for a new doll. I'm not sure if I regret it or not yet :sweat
I have also sold dolls before partially because I felt like they didn't look good in the types of outfit I wanted for them.

    15. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls?

None of my dolls has a 'default' outfit. I changed their clothes regularly because I cannot stand them wearing the same clothes over and over again. Some people's dolls can rock one outfit, but definitely not my dolls.

(If you only have one) do your dolls ever feel boring? Do you lose interest in them because you don't spoil or customise them further with clothing?

Yes, sometimes I do lose interest in my dolls because I dont have anymore new clothes for them to wear! In that case, I start to ignore that particular doll and move on to another. LOL. I'm so vain o_____O

(If you have many) how many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes?

All of my dolls share clothes together 'cept the tinies, obviously XD The tinies have their own small chest of clothes. And the bigger boys has a drawer full of hoodies/tees and another drawer with pants/shorts.

I also have a box full of girly clothes for my girly boys and a box of unused clothes... I went on a buying spree when I bought my first doll, and none of my dolls now want to wear those clothes >.> I dont think there's a thing called "TOO MANY CLOTHES." I need MOAR.

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally?

Kinda both. I'm always searching for casual clothes that my boys will wear. When I see something I like, I will think it over plenty of times, should I buy it or not, cause most of the clothes I have bought, my boys end up not wearing them -____-

And sometimes, I just feel like spending some money so I'll just snatched it up without thinking much about it XD

    16. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls?

I tend to have my doll in one outfit for a long time, sometimes they wear something for a long time then I have a feeling if I want to see it again, I have a few match and mix pieces and a couple of outfits for each doll I think. Shoes I have a pair each for them, I wouldnt have more than two pairs for a doll for some reason, maybe expense.

(If you only have one) do your dolls ever feel boring? Do you lose interest in them because you don't spoil or customise them further with clothing?

Sometimes I feel my dolls are abit 'stale' with what theyre wearing so I will sell their clothes and start again, a bit like a make over!

(If you have many) how many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes?

I have about 10 items for each doll, including socks ;) I tend to leave them in the same outfit for a while. If I feel some clothes are too similar or that they havent worn something for a while I will sell on, I dont like their clothes to get bigger than my doll carrier.

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally?

Intentionally, I will save outfits I want for a while before buying, or know what Im looking for. Occassionally I will see something that I will add to an order that I like.

    17. Most of my doll have no clothing. They have shoes, wigs, eyes, and anything else I can't make easily. However, as my collection has grown, I have indulged a couple times on outfits. As an avid seamstress and clothing designer, it's difficult to plunk down money for clothing that's merely Okay or good enough for the moment.

    18. I buy lots of clothes for my girls, but then when they arrive I find one outfit that suits them the best and it becomes so much a part of their personality that I don't like to change it. I also find a lot of my dolls end up not suiting the clothes I bought. I have a big box of clothes for them all to choose from.

I want my new puki girls (I have a puki puki and a pukifee on their way) to be more versatile and change their clothes more. THOSE girls have empty wardrobes because I can't find clothes I like enough for them that really suit them. I am trying to make sure each piece is right for them so I am happy to change their clothes more often. I want them to be special. Each will have their own unique set of clothes just for them. BUT right now, they are empty.... one outfit each.

    19. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls?

I make one default outfit per doll. Sometimes, inspiration hits and a start a new outfit for him or her, and the old outfit goes into storage. At this point, I have probably as many outfits in storage as I have on dolls. Every doll has an outfit--though not all are completely finished--I'm still searching for the right shoes or a way to make the right shoes for nearly all my girls.

(If you only have one) do your dolls ever feel boring? Do you lose interest in them because you don't spoil or customise them further with clothing?

It takes me several weeks to sew an outfit, and I then I have a lot of fun posing the dolls all around the house (with props and/or socializing with each other). I love love love looking at them! I do change the dolls' clothes, but only when I've made them something new. Every time I finish an outfit and am ready to start another, I go hunting for which doll I'm bored or dissatisfied with (who thus needs a new outfit!)

Eventually, I hope to work up the guts to do photographs of the dolls, and then I'll want to get pictures of all their outfits. Probably, though, after photographs, they will all go back in their default outfits.

(If you have many) how many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes?

Each doll has a couple outfits, but only one that they wear all the time (if that makes any sense?) so I think that makes me "biased towards one particular outfit." I have several different brands of doll and make mostly tightly fitted or tailored clothes, so they can't really share clothes very well.

And there is no such thing as "too many clothes!"

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally?

Designing and sewing clothes is my favorite part of this hobby. I have bought a few clothes, but have not been very excited by them, largely because they don't fit perfectly.

I haven't figured out how to make proper shoes, though, and so buy all my dolls' footwear.

    20. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls?
My dolls all have very set looks. They have character designs and outfits and generally only wear the one thing. I have some 'coming home' clothes which generally get swapped out as soon as I have their actual proper outfit home.

So my dolls only have one 'official' set of clothes.

(If you only have one) do your dolls ever feel boring? Do you lose interest in them because you don't spoil or customise them further with clothing?
Nope. I look at Lief and I see Lief the way he is in my imagination. As my dolls are characters from books I'm writing, and the characters do have one set style, I find I look at them and see the character, more than I look at them and see the doll. They're like very expensive figures for me, as much as my Edward Elric, SackBoy, Cloud Strife etc. figures are representations of the character.

My doll's character wears 'X', so my doll will wear 'X' too. I don't feel the need to change my doll's look once it's set.

(If you have many) how many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes?
      N/A

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally?
Not really. I just don't see the point in buying clothes that my doll will not wear, no matter how pretty they are. -shrug-

    21. Some of my dolls were purchased as full sets but they rarely use their default outfits.

I have been in the hobby for a while now so my boy clothing are bursting out from 3 carry on size suit cases plus boxes boxes and boxes LOL LOL they have more clothes than I do

I am totally biased... which is rather obvious if you check my gallery threads

    22. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls?
I tend to buy multiple clothes for my dolls. Some dolls can share some items so I can move clothes around a bit.

(If you have many) how many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes?
I've noticed I tend to buy more for the dolls that can share. My only msd has the least clothes of the lot. There is always an outfit that I prefer above the rest, but then eventually I'll have a new favorite. I can't believe I'll ever have too many doll clothes, but when I find that I don't like/use an item I'll sell it.

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally?
Kinda both... Sometimes I'll just run across something, but I also go out and intentionally buy something, usually when I'm awaiting a new doll. I enjoy sewing for them as well so they get some clothes that way, I always seem to be buying fabric for no reason :)

    23. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls?
depends on the doll. but my Luna has tons of outfits.(If you only have one) do your dolls ever feel boring? Do you lose interest in them because you don't spoil or customise them further with clothing?
no I never get bored of them. I love to buy outfits and stuff though. (If you have many) how many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes?
Lunahas to many to count. but so far my other dolls only haveone.I change Luna's outfits on a regular basis.I don't think i'll ever have to many clothes. I just have to make more space for new ones.
Do you buy or not-buy intentionally?
yes I do buy them intentially. I buy them when I like them.

    24. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls?
All my dolls eventually end up with at least a few different outfits, even if they tend to wear one or two specific sets more than the others.

(If you only have one) do your dolls ever feel boring? Do you lose interest in them because you don't spoil or customize them further with clothing?
I've had dolls that I got bored with that had extensive wardrobes, and dolls I got tired of that only had one or two things to wear. For me, the doll's outfit has less to do with my interest level than the doll itself does.

(If you have many) how many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes?
I go through periods where I'm biased towards one outfit or another, but even so I do change the clothes regularly. It depends on the doll really. One of my boys goes months in the same outfit, but the other one gets changed every few days. (His wardrobe is so huge it'd be a shame to never swap his clothes out!)

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally?
Generally, I buy intentionally. Toshi's clothing tends to be very distinctively his. Itsuki has stolen most of the more casual boy stuff for himself, so now I assume that anything of a similar style will just go to him. (Every now and then Toshi steals something from Itsuki's wardrobe though). My mini and tiny boy can't share with anyone else, so its intentional when I buy for them.

    25. I'm trying to prioritize dolls over outfits right now, so all my dolls thus far have one or two outfits. I'd say my doll wardrobe is quite bare, haha.

But once I finish off my wishlist I'll focus more on clothing for them.

    26. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls?

At the moment, I've only just finished getting everyone at least one outfit.

(If you only have one) do your dolls ever feel boring? Do you lose interest in them because you don't spoil or customise them further with clothing?

When I had one doll, I did feel a much stronger urge to have more clothes for her-- and quite early on she had four whole outfits to herself.

(If you have many) how many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes?

1st doll: 4 outfits, but she really only wears two, and one of the others has since been more or less claimed by another character.

2nd doll: 2 outfits, both of which get a lot of use.

3rd doll: 2 outfits, though one of those is just nice underwear, and she pretty much lives in her more modest garb.

      4th doll: 1 outfit, but it's extremely cool. ;)

--I still dream about acquiring more outfits in the future, but for now I think this is a good amount. Everyone has at least one outfit, and some articles can be shared between dolls.

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally?

I'm not quite sure about this question, but I'm fairly careful about the clothes I buy. I always do my homework on the sizes, and I refrain from purchasing items that may be beautiful but unsuitable for the doll's character. Impulse buying also terrifies me, so while I may pounce on something from the MP, it's usually because the item is one I already love and can afford.

    27. I am the type that buys more than a few items of clothing just for one doll
I do like it to changed depending on what is going on around ^ - ^

    28. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls?

I get several different outfits. I don't believe in 'default outfits'. That's just too boring for me. XD

How many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes?

I have a general closet of things for my boys to mix and match. The big boys all share clothes, though they each prefer slightly different styles. Fate has an additional exclusive Dollheart girl wardrobe (since the big boys can't fit into them), while the new little girl... doesn't have much clothes yet. I'm working on it. 8Db

There are no outfits I'm biased towards: I change them whenever the mood strikes me. Even the Dollheart sets get their pieces mixed and matched around. There are some styles that I tend to keep to, however, for the individual doll, but even so, nothing is hard and fast.

Too much clothes is when I have too many outfit sets that are meant to be worn as sets. I tend to get bored of them quite easily, and if they're branded sets, I'm usually reluctant to seperate the parts, so they get sold as the whole set. There's no limit to the mix-and-match wardrobe, though. XD Extra clothes are always nice to have around anyway, in case new dolls turn up unexpectedly. =w=~<3

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally?

Since it never occurred to me to give any of my dolls default outfits, I guess it was unintentional that I tend to buy them all sorts of clothes. \o/

    29. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls?

Only my littlefee has a default outfit (which is the one he came with lol)...I've only been focusing on getting my msds clothing :sweat

(If you only have one) do your dolls ever feel boring? Do you lose interest in them because you don't spoil or customise them further with clothing?

I guess sometimes. Buying clothing for my dolls and dressing them is a fun part of the hobby for me XD But sometimes I have to realistic and spend my money on other things.

(If you have many) how many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes?

      I guess overall-
      Complete outfits: 5
      Mix/match items (tees/jeans etc): 8

I'm pretty lazy with changing my dolls unless I go to meets lol, so they will usually wear an outfit for a long time haha.. I usually make them wear the new stuff that I got :3 I think that I have too much clothing when it can fill up a small box (which they already do ><;;; )

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally?
I usually try to plan what type of clothing I want for my dolls but otherwise I guess they're mainly impulsive buys, especially with DollHeart. I see a top I like and then think that they need some new jeans to match it...and then I end up with items for the other doll as well  (Is this what this question is asking about? XD)

    30. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls?

I buy lots of outfits. I didn't start out that way, but I just found too many cool outfits I liked. I like clothes anyway, so it's not a surprise that I like doll clothes, too. Clothes and wigs and shoes are part of the appeal of BJDs for me. They are a very important aspect. I like having the dolls the most, of course, but the clothes and stuff to go along with them are also a big part of it all.

(If you only have one) do your dolls ever feel boring? Do you lose interest in them because you don't spoil or customise them further with clothing?

Although I don't have only one outfit per doll... if I had no money and could only afford one outfit, I don't think I'd be bored. I probably would find different ways to do things with them--maybe take them to different places for photo-shoots or pose them in certain ways or do photo stories or whatever. Although I REALLY love having different outfits, I don't think I'd be bored just because my doll only had one outfit.

(If you have many) how many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes?

I can't even count the outfits... and my dolls share outfits, so... hard to say how many per doll... I've been buying since '04, so I have a LOT by now. I don't change them that often, so I have tons of outfits they haven't even worn yet... (although I'll get around to them all some day!). They have enough to be in different outfits without repeating, but as I said, I don't change them often... sometimes they are in the same outfits for a year or so at a time.

Too many clothes is when they have a ton they haven't worn yet and I start losing track of what I have... Which is how it is at present. I have more than enough for them to dress in just about everything for every occasion... I have two large plastic bin-loads of outfits... *_*

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally?

I'm afraid I buy intentionally. I really do love fashions and doll outfits!

I store clothes. I don't dress my dolls in pajamas. I don't even think they HAVE any pajamas! I don't dress them in different clothes depending on the season. I usually dress them for meetups. And for photoshoots. That's it. I'm addicted to buying dolls AND clothes. I'll have to skip some dolls because I've spent on clothes... but as I said, the clothes are important to me, too. And I WISH I would fall in love with just one outfit... but I don't. I keep on seeing very cool outfits and fall in love with outfits as much as dolls, sometimes. ... I actually don't even LIKE changing outfits so much! *_*

    31. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls?
My first doll (a MSD) is really spoilt in the sense that I have bought him several different outfits. For my other dolls (tinies), they usually have one default outfit and one traditional ethnic outfit (well, at least I try to buy it for them). Otherwise, I'll just try to make some other outfits for them, (but my sewing sucks that's why I usually get them one default outfit that they will wear all the time).

(If you only have one) do your dolls ever feel boring? Do you lose interest in them because you don't spoil or customise them further with clothing?
Not really. For the dolls which I've bought only one outfit, I usually try to make some other outfits for them.

(If you have many) how many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes?
For my MSD, I have bought at least 4 outfit sets, not including those that I've made. The others are usually one default set that is purchased (for traditional outfit, most of which are Korean, Japanese and possible Chinese, I'll usually try to buy them if they are available). I have too many likes so my outfit range for my first doll was very diverse, from modern formal wear to casual wear to medieval or even gothic wear (one of my tiny also had a furry animal costume). Now I just go for the modern (casual/formal) style so they don't look like they are time-transported into one century. lol

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally?
For my first doll, it was basically buy-what-I-like. Once I settled down on a style though, I started to plan so they won't look weird together.

    32. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls?
Actually, I sew, ONLY.I prefer for my dolls to have several outfits: casual, festive attire, summer/winter clothes, several pairs of shoes, maybe some cosplay also. I sew one outfit, after that I start to sew another one.

(If you have many) how many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes?
3-4 complete outfits at least, but actually more. I change outfits from time to time – if I need to dress my dolls for the party or for a certain photosession. A huge amount of time they spend sitting naked or almost naked because I'm too lazy to dress them and because their bodies are beautiful)))
Though my kitten has only one outfit, and it's OK for me.
Too many clothes – when there is a lack of room in a drawer.

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally?
I buy intentionally (the fabrics, because I sew). I think of making a certain type of outfit so I search for a suitable fabric.

    33. Well, I've only got one doll now, but I'm going to try and have him "Completed" (Get him his wig, some proper clothes, etc.) before I buy any more, so I'm not trying to finish two or more dolls at once.
Right now, he's got his extra casual outfit (His B&G bathrobe and some white shorts I made for him,) and his really fancy outfit (The Victorian-style outfit he came with,) so I switch between them a lot. (Especially since the pants on his fancy getup are black, and I don't want them to stain. :P)

I'm actually planning on (Eventually) collecting a nice assortment of clothing for him, so he isn't wearing the same thing day in and day out. (Which is also a good way to make photostories and shoots a little more realistic, if he isn't wearing the same outfit all the time.)

For right now, though, I'll just be glad when he has something more normal to wear. :P

EDIT: To be more on topic.... :sweat

While making him outfits/dressing him up/ planning out "Looks" for him is certainly fun and helps me feel more in touch with his character, I don't think that just having one outfit would make him any less interesting or enjoyable for me. I'm totally planning on eventually getting him (And any future dolls) a huge collection of different outfits and accessories, but I'd be just as happy with him if I (For whatever reason) only had one or two sets of clothes.

(I hope I've made some amount of sense.)

    34. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls?

I want to have at least one outfit handy for a doll, since I'm sure they get cold when they sit around naked ;) Generally I buy the outfit first, unless the doll is an odd size or one of the many floating heads. More will come whenever I get the time and inclination - and money.

(If you only have one) do your dolls ever feel boring? Do you lose interest in them because you don't spoil or customise them further with clothing?

No, not really. I wouldn't have bought them if I wan't interested! :) And as far as my single-outfit guys, I try to find at least one in-character outfit for them to live in. One of them likes it so much he won't let me put him in anything else.

(If you have many) how many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes?

The girls get changed whenever I bloody well feel like it. :) Admittedly I prefer them in no-fuss outfits, but sometimes you just have to sit down and shove someone's butt into a fer and lace those tiny little armbands way way up. :aheartbea

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally?

For the most part, I am fairly particular about what I buy for them nowadays - this wasn't always the case, and I find I'd rather have a few outfits for them that I really adore as opposed to a mass pile of clothes I only sort-of like.

    35. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls?
I buy whatever strikes my fancy, and then decide which of my dolls would suit the outfit, although they do share them (except the EID since his measurements are drastically different from the others). I'm finding though that certain types of outfits are specific to one doll (ie: pinstripes are Aubrey's thing, monochrome suit sets are Mordecai's, gowns made from nude and beige fabrics are Floroteian's, etc).

(If you only have one) do your dolls ever feel boring? Do you lose interest in them because you don't spoil or customise them further with clothing?
For the girls, although each only have 1 main gown, no, I don't think they're boring because I always have every intention to sew more clothing for them (if I ever stop being lazy enough to actually sew :sweat).

(If you have many) how many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes?
There's probably an average of 2 suits per male doll, but there are pieces that they share between them. And yes, I change them on occasion, especially if the clothing is of coloured or dark fabrics (to prevent staining).

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally?
For the boys, yes, if I find something I like, then I'd buy intentionally. For the girls, no, since their sizes are more varied, thus making it harder to find the proper in-character type of clothing (so I've resorted to making them myself).

    36. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls?
When a new doll arrives, I assemble an outfit out of the communal pool of clothing whilst I work on what will be their main outfit, but they won't necessarily stay in that outfit. I have a few clothing items that I've bought, but for the most part I sew it all myself. Sometimes I will work on a complete outfit, other times I will make separates. There's no specific given order to how I work though.

(If you have many) how many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes?
They each have one or two complete outfit, but I quite often change them into something different from the communal wardrobe. They each have their own particular styles that I dress them in though - Perseus is always a gentleman dandy, for instance, so you won't see him in T-shirt and jeans. Likewise you won't see Eric in a suit. The girls only ever wear dresses or skirts. Myrddin wears pale colours. But other than that, their appearance isn't static. Some dolls get changed more often than others though, depending on my mood and what I'm doing with them.

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally?
I buy fabric and notions deliberately, but I avoid buying apart from boots and shoes, which are the one thing I can't really make myself the way I'd like to. I prefer not to buy clothing if it's an item I can make myself, on the whole, though there have been the odd exceptions to this rule.

    37. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls?

It sort of depends on the doll, though I do like to have at least one outfit that they can wear should they ever require clothes. But some dolls have one outfit and little more, while other dolls of mine have fairly extensive wardrobes. Some of it has to do with difficulty find appropriate clothing. My Kun is supposed to have a very specific, high fashion wardrobe and it really doesn't exist to purchase, so I've had to edit her look to be more about trendy separates and even those are hard to find. Whereas my Bianka dresses like an evil Victorian princess, and there are tons of those kinds of looks available, so she has way more clothing than my Kun. And then my Peroth and my Maki girl essentially share the same wardrobe because they dress similar and are close enough in size they can share.

(If you only have one) do your dolls ever feel boring? Do you lose interest in them because you don't spoil or customise them further with clothing?

For my Kun, I would like more clothing for more variety for her. My Kira boy only has 2 outfits and those 2 outfits are perfect so I don't mind it much with him.

(If you have many) how many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes?

I do have fave outfits for dolls so I do often go back to those fave ones over and over because I think they really embody how the character dresses. And, of course, that they look great and really enhance the doll.

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally?

I'm always browsing around for stuff to buy, but it really depends on what I find for sale and if I have the money. I have no set buying plans when it comes to doll clothes. If I see something perfect for a doll who already has a ton of clothes and I want it, I'll still get it.

    38. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls?
Over time my kids have acquired several outfits. Those who share with another in same size and gender can share even more outfits. This who are unique and hard to fit will of course have less.

(If you only have one) do your dolls ever feel boring? Do you lose interest in them because you don't spoil or customize them further with clothing? N/A

(If you have many) how many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes? My kids esp. if going to be in a story change clothes as the stories esp with 4 of my dolls goes over a period of days and weeks. So we can't have them wearing some thing say 2 days in a row. I would say on average each doll that shares with at least 1 other has 3 outfits each and a couple of spare shirts. That is my SD. My LTF are more and so share more.

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally? I buy internationally. I would say 60% of the clothes my kids have come from over seas.

    39. I think you misread the question - it doesn't say do you buy internationally, but do you buy or not-buy intentionally - i.e. do you make a deliberate effort to buy or to not buy clothes?

    40. Oh I buy buy buy and everyone mixes and matches. I'll buy locally, hand made and internationally couture made and everything in between. I do agree that sometimes I find just the perfect combination of outfit, wig, eyes, and accessories and then that doll lives in the outfit for a good long while. But, then the fun, for me, is completely changing their look again!

    41. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls?
      One default outfit, usually.

(If you only have one) do your dolls ever feel boring? Do you lose interest in them because you don't spoil or customise them further with clothing?
Not at all. Sometimes I wish I had clothes for specific shoots, like right now it's winter so it would be nice if they had winter clothes. But other than that I don't mind.

(If you have many) how many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes?
Well, I only have one outfit per doll right now. I'd say that having seasonal outfits would be good, so that's 4 outfits per doll. More than that might be too many.

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally?
I buy clothes, and I sew clothes. Basically, I buy what I can't or I'm too lazy to sew xP

    42. Because I commission mine and they can become quite expensive (the outfits are all quite elaborate) my dolls all have one set. The clothes describe their character just as much as their headsculpt, body sculpt and face-up does and despite having some for almost 4 years I'm not getting bored with them.

... Of course, it helps that some still need a few accessories before they're really done.

    43. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls?
I used to keep my dolls naked (cuz I was afraid they'd wrinkle the clothes or they'd get stained) and I would only take the clothes out to dress them for photos but now..what the heck. The fun part is changing their outfits! So I've begun to hoard shoes/outfits..orz. I try to make sure each doll has a fancy/formal outfit or uniform, a winter outfit, a summer outfit, sleeping clothes, and a bunch of other casual clothes too to mix and match. See why I'm broke?? =D

(If you only have one) do your dolls ever feel boring? Do you lose interest in them because you don't spoil or customise them further with clothing?
The doll isn't boring itself, but looking at them wearing the same thing all the time is kinda...

(If you have many) how many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes?
I try to make it equal, and I try to change my doll's outfits regularly. You can never have too many clothes. (Unless you run out of space. XD)

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally?
Erm... both? o.O I'm pretty picky with what I want, but at the same time if I randomly see an outfit I like (happened many times..) even if the doll already has many outfits, I'd still buy it. Can't help it! ><

    44. Whenever I have time and inspiration, I make them some outfits.

When Halloween comes along again, it should be easier to find some spidery stuff for my Drow elf :)

    45. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls?
All of my dolls of similar sizes share the same clothes. My male doll is lucky though because he gets his clothes to himself...though he only has 2 outfits right now. My Pippitan is lucky because she gets run of the Blythe clothes, too.

(If you only have one) do your dolls ever feel boring? Do you lose interest in them because you don't spoil or customise them further with clothing?
I would like to get some new clothes for my dolls but I don't have a lot of space right now. Once I find a dresser for my own clothes, it is going to free up more space for me to organize my doll clothes the way I want to, and then I can see what else I can get for them. I am a little bored with their options, but only momentarily.

(If you have many) how many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes?
My Yo-sized tiny now has the run of all the dresses I have in her size range since she's the only one. Some fit her better than others though and those are the ones I use more.

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally?
I haven't bought any new clothes in awhile, but as I said before I don't have a lot of storage space. Also, my primary clothing goal is to make sure each of my dolls has one pair of shoes; my guy still doesn't have a pair of good shoes that fit. Space-constraints or not, I'm very lazy when it comes to buying their clothes. Even if it is something I want, I always wait too long, then the item is often sold or I decide the price is too high and wait longer.

    46. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls? Currently all of my dolls have several outfits, but there are upcoming ones that will have only one, or very few outfits. It all depends on the character. My current ones love clothes. ^_^;

(If you have many) how many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes?
I've never actually counted, but I sew a lot and each doll has a bin-full. There are clothes I like more than others...so Yoru ends up in his Dollheart Justice outfit more often than he would like to. XD I have too many clothes when my hands hurt from sewing, I guess.

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally?
I tend NOT to buy...because I can make most of their clothes. ^_^; I think each of them will end up with one store-bought outfit, though, just because I think they should each have one nicer than what I can make.

    47. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls?
I don't as a rule, buy clothes for my dolls. I much prefer making my own. However, in terms of the number of outfits- they each get several. In fact, I don't make outfits so much as individual pieces that get mixed and matched into their own personal wardrobes.

(If you only have one) do your dolls ever feel boring? Do you lose interest in them because you don't spoil or customise them further with clothing?
I do actually. I love to dress them, style their hair and then take pictures. Unfortunately, because of my own stupidity, I've let the number of dolls completely demolish the number of completed wardrobes with a score of 8-0. Thus, the lot of them are pretty much in scraps of clothing that I've essentially thrown together in a sad attempt to try and make sure that they at least aren't nekkid while I desperately try to recoup.

(If you have many) how many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes?
Eventually, I'll have a baggie system that stores all the pieces for their individual wardrobes. (Yes, that's right- baggies.) I don't think I'd be biased towards any particular look for any of them though, although I may favour certain pieces on certain dolls. At this time, I have the antithesis of space, so I think I'd have too many if I ran out of places to store them...

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally?
I intentionally don't buy. However- I have to make an exception where certain things are concerned. I buy shoes, jackets and school uniforms with reckless abandon XD

    48. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls?

Most of my dolls share clothes.

(If you only have one) do your dolls ever feel boring? Do you lose interest in them because you don't spoil or customise them further with clothing?

I never lose interest in them, but they definitely need more clothes. I dislike buying random generic clothes though. I would rather have specific beautiful outfits for each one.

(If you have many) how many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes?

Too many would be when I run out of room.

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally?

When I buy, I buy items that are perfect for each doll. I buy shoes because making them is a lot of trouble, but prefer to sew their clothes. I try not to buy stuff I could make.

    49. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls?

I only have one right now but will be getting pieces soon

(If you only have one) do your dolls ever feel boring? Do you lose interest in them because you don't spoil or customise them further with clothing?

I first would love to get my dolls head back (faceup from Beesou and its in transit to me now) but so far I am not bored.

(If you have many) how many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes?

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally?

      Buy wherever you find them

    50. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls?
I buy a variety of different outfits of two types of styles I prefer to see on my doll, Damien. So I have a Victorian and modern appeal to his outfits. Changing up his outfits is much more fun than keeping just the same one.

(If you only have one) do your dolls ever feel boring? Do you lose interest in them because you don't spoil or customise them further with clothing? I recently just purchased my first ball-jointed-doll a couple months ago. I have a hard to believe that I'd find myself getting bored of my doll, Damien. He is so beautiful, but I am sure I'll want to add more to his family. I would probably just change his outfits and hair... Since his face-up would look good with most all his clothes.

(If you have many) how many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes? I used to own twenty or more Bratz dolls, and they had a bunch of clothing, I would do the same for my ball-jointed doll. He doesn't have much clothes at the moment, but that's because I am carefully choosing his outfits. I am thinking about sewing clothes for him too. So It doesn't matter to me if he has huge wardrobe, I could find a place to put them all.

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally?

I buy intentionally, because I don't want to waste my money on something I may find boring. :) I'm very particular.

    51. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls? I like for all my dolls to have multiple outfits. they all change fairly often and that also goes for their eyes and wigs.

(If you only have one) do your dolls ever feel boring? Do you lose interest in them because you don't spoil or customise them further with clothing?
      NA

(If you have many) how many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes?
All my boys share clothes, or certain pieces so i don't really know how to count outfits since everything is mix and match and shared ^^"
Do you buy or not-buy intentionally?
I buy intentionally, i have bought alot of things just because they were pretty in the past and now the majority of those things didn't ever go to a doll.

    52. I never got a default outfit for my bigger because she came as seperate parts, with boy head and girl body. BUT my other girl Casa actually came with panties. Like little girl ones not like sexy ones.

    53. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls?
No, I have many diffrent outfits for my dolls, so that I can change them after the mood/weather/foto/doll meet. They do share the clothing between them selfs

(If you have many) how many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes?
I am not sure, I think about 4-5 pr doll. I make most of their clothing so I lost track of them. But I do know that there are at least 2 bags of clothing, 1 bag of shoes (purse bag) and a toy chest with wigs (small ikea)

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally?
I shop intentionally, do the doll need it, would it look good on one of them. And I don't have the money to loose on bad buy's

    54. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls?
nope, no default outfits! my boys are always changing clothes/pieces of clothing because they're supposed to be like...normal teenagers. and i can't stand them in the same thing for too long. the 2 boys share a common wardrobe, but underpants are their own. 8D other than that, they share clothes cos i'll be broke if i gave them separate wardrobes when their dress sense is so similar. they ARE several items that belongs more to gabby/dennis but generally they share.

(If you only have one) do your dolls ever feel boring? Do you lose interest in them because you don't spoil or customise them further with clothing?
i spoil them with clothing, even though i have 2. so erm. that's good for them and my entertainment but really bad news for my wallet.

(If you have many) how many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes?
i don't have biased toward a particular outfit. they just get changed into whatever fancies me at the point of changing them. i think they have too much clothes when it can't fit in the box i have for their clothes. which is like now. :/ but i also think the box is a bit small but it's the only size that can fit in my wardrobe where i keep it lol.

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally?
doll clothes? not for now, because i don't have paypal. i can ask my friend to help me pay and i return her the cash, but it's troublesome so i only do it for resin parts. clothing...i always have the mentality that i'll be able to find something similar somewhere else. lol.

    55. It's my wardrobe, they took it over. ;) they have tons of stuff!

Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls? No I like them to have a whole range of thing, summer and winter wardrobe.

(If you only have one) do your dolls ever feel boring? Do you lose interest in them because you don't spoil or customise them further with clothing? I do get bored of an outfit if they wear it too long, I like the change them maybe once a month or so.

    56. Right now most of my dolls have only random pieces of clothing made into outfits. I think I have about ~10-12 outfits for 8 dolls. 3 of those outfits are for sale...

Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls?
I would love for them to have one default and some secondary outfits. But right now none of them have any.

(If you only have one) do your dolls ever feel boring? Do you lose interest in them because you don't spoil or customise them further with clothing?
Right now I feel I should buy more clothing for them then more firiends xP

(If you have many) how many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes?
I do have many outfits for all my dolls but I like to have them only wear one and sometimes soo if i can change a shirt or a pair of pants to make it a little different.

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally?
Right now I only buy what I can that can fit. I hope to buy things that will make an outfit when I get to know what I want them to wear xP

    57. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls?
In the past, I used to start with one outfit when I buy a doll, then another doll and another outfit and work from there. I don't think I'll be using that method anymore though. At this point I tend to buy clothes/shoes, then dolls and after that wigs and eyes.

(If you only have one) do your dolls ever feel boring? Do you lose interest in them because you don't spoil or customize them further with clothing?
I've normally had two dolls in the house at the same time and even with that, it felt boring when I didn't have more than one outfit each for them.

(If you have many) how many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes?
I don't know if two counts as 'many', but it's as many as I've ever had at one time before and that is the number I am most happy with; I am one of those people who buys and buys and buys clothes/shoes over more dolls. If you give me $500, instead of going to buy a new doll I will go buy $500 worth of clothes lol. There are certain outfits I really like more than others, but I still like everything I've bought so I'm not too biased about changing out clothes/shoes/wigs/eyes. If I didn't like it, I wouldn't still own it! ;)

I think sometimes when I am not wanting to change a current look it is because just changing the outfit won't work in my mind, if I'm changing the clothes I'll most likely change the eyes and wig out too. Some wigs look better with one dress than another, which is part of why sometimes things don't strike me as not looking right.

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally?

Yes, I do both. I intentionally don't buy more dolls than the set two I want and I intentionally buy them a lot of dresses because in my mind, there is no such thing as too many frilly dresses. ;)

I realized that I find it much more fun to change outfits when I like, but after finding one outfit that I love, I find it so difficult to find another I like as much!! Does anyone else feel like this?
I wish I had that problem! It would save me a lot of money, ahaha. There are just far too many outfits I like constantly being released (specially by a certain little group of favorite seamstresses of mine), not being able to find more outfits I like hasn't been an issue once I really focused on what it is I like.

    58. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls?
I try to have a few different things for my dolls to wear, but honestly... I try to get each one a perfect outfit and 90% of the time that's what they stay in.

(If you only have one) do your dolls ever feel boring? Do you lose interest in them because you don't spoil or customise them further with clothing?
No. I love my dolls. I don't feel any of my dolls are totally perfected yet. I'll be very happy when I have one that looks exactly how I want. I like just having my dolls around. I don't get bored of any of them and I don't like my newest dolls better than my older dolls! I try to give them equal amounts of attention.

(If you have many) how many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes?
I have about two or three, but some things are just mix and matchy. I think having too many clothing is when you have clothing to the point that you have no use for it. I think that's pretty hard to do.

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally?
I only buy stuff I can see on my dolls. It has to suit them... with the exception of a hipster outfit I keep around for new dolls so they aren't nake-y while I'm acquiring clothing that suits them.

    59. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls?
No, I like my boys to have a wide variety of clothes to mix and match :) I happened to chance upon the outfit I envisioned for Sen and snapped it out so...Sen got his 'default outfit' but his rarely in it.

(If you only have one) do your dolls ever feel boring? Do you lose interest in them because you don't spoil or customise them further with clothing?
Dolls...I guess not..me? Uh honestly yes. Losing interest? No, definately not. There are times where my budget just don't allow me to get any more clothings and thus they will be stuck in their old clothes for months. Alistair is currently stuck in his only jacket with the rest borrowed from Sen. Poor guy will have to make do for a few more weeks. X3
(If you have many) how many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes?
I try to get two sets or more per doll if possible. I change them regularly. When you realise you have no more use for the others.
Do you buy or not-buy intentionally?
Usually intententionally. When I chance upon a interesting piece of clothing, I'll question myself if I can ever see my characters in those. For sure, I can never see any of my boys in dresses or skirts so no matter how gorgeous they are, I'll never fall for the 'buy it now' button :)

    60. Do you get one default outfit for your doll and then move on to the next or do you buy several different outfits for your dolls?

I could never have only one outfit for my dolls, I'd get very bored! Making clothes for them is pretty much my #1 way of enjoying them. I very rarely buy them clothes, only if I see something that is just perfect for them, but I love being able to make for them whatever I can think up, and have them have something that is completely unique and only for them!

(If you have many) how many per doll? Are you biased towards one particular outfit or do you change them regularly? When do you have too many clothes?

Oh wow I really don't know how many they have. It depends on the doll too, my oldest is a complete clotheshorse- I have about...7 doll boxes full of clothes? And he alone easily fills about 3. I tried to organize the clothes based on which doll, but he just kept overtaking all the boxes xD And they share a lot too. I change them pretty regularly, but I do actually go through my clothes collection pretty often and take out what I don't like anymore-I go to a doll con twice a year and have a booth there and I have a little basket standing on a corner where I put whatever they don't wear anymore, and people can buy it for inexpensive prices-this way other people still enjoy what I don't use anymore, and I make back some money of things that otherwise would catch dust. I don't think there's such a thing as too many outfits. In fact, I think they have too little outfits-I want to make new things! Most do have an outfit I love most, but they don't always wear that one. *cough* ..often they also have matching shoes to their outfits. =.=;;; They are very spoiled indeed.

Do you buy or not-buy intentionally?

Well, I rarely buy..sometimes I plan to make things, but often I see a pretty fabric or just think 'hmm, so and so needs a new outfit', grab some fabric and make something.
