I would rather had a frail/feminine looking male doll because I feel like he would be cuter and less intimidating! I would want him to look approachable lol.

having both already, I think I like having multiple sculpted hands. they're less flimsy.

Not sure I understand well the question... Was it about risking it for the doll, or for myself ? x) I'll answer as if it was for the doll... And I'll rather risk a broken finger as I could change its hand

A custom made doll! I think it would definitely be very interesting.

One with clothes, eyes and a wig, definetly!

Perfect lighting! so I can always make a story that my doll is disabled or sth ;d with terrible lighting I can't do much

Neck, face always straight! I love the arm and legs poseability in my girls too much to give them up

I think I would rather have the shoes match the outfits. Matching the shoes to the outfit is SO satisfying.

Would you rather noticeably irreversibly damage one of your limited dolls (accidentally, of course) or never obtain your holy grail(s)? (Let's hope neither of these things ever actually happen ;; )

 

Never obtaining my grails are something I could live with :')
Would you rather receive for a gift an amazingly faceuped but noticeably modded doll or a gorgeous outfit that suits no doll you own?

 

I'd definitely rather get the outfit. Any imperfections in the mod would just bother me forever >o< and I could always get a new doll for the outfit!

Would you rather find your grail that is just a tiny bit above your price range, or a sculpt that you sort of like at a great deal?

 

If haggling isn't an option on the grail, I think I'd probably go for the better deal. I'm a cheap-skate. n_n,

Small neck, big hole. I'm more comfortable with padding the hole than grinding it out. Although I suppose I could commission someone experienced in modding to do it for me....

Normal doll because I love to sew for my lovelies to dress up.

Would you rather be in debt for one grail doll or several others that you really like?

 

One grail doll; at least that way I've only made one budget mistake instead of having an ongoing problem. :P

Would you rather have only heavy winter outfits for your dolls, or have only swimsuits?

 

I'd rather have swimsuits, I live in southern California, and they can do beach and poolside photo shoots!

Would you rather sell a doll for the highest possible price to a stranger, or for less to someone you know?

 

Less to someone I know. I'd rather know the doll is well taken care of and appreciated. Plus it'd be nice to have one of my friends get into the hobby! ^.~

Would you rather have a really nice camera but bad lighting, or really good lighting but a crap camera?

 

Since I am always complaining about lighting I think that would be it, the crap camera can be enhanced with photoshop.

Would you rather have individual carry bags or one big one that can carry quite a few dolls, safely.

 

The large bag- seems like it would be easier since I can never just pick one doll to bring out

I'd rather have them discolor over time and become something unique.

(Oh that's a tough one!) the less amazing doll that ships straight away but only because I'm new to the hobby, maybe when I have more dolls I will be more patient. Maybe!...

I love taking photos, so only three!

Would you rather have a family that is open minded but unwilling to help with the hobby, or a family that openly sneers at you for liking dolls?

 

Open minded family (which I have luckily). If mine sneered at my hobby I'm afraid every hobby they had would received the same (or worse) belittling. It would be a hobby war. (I'm the grandma so I would win by default)

Would you rather have historical or modern clothing for you dolls.

 

Modern. I love historical clothes, and I have a couple period outfits, but I always want to put the girls back jeans and sweaters so they're comfortable lol.

Would you rather have a room just for hobbies and crafting where you can expand your collection to dozens of dolls, or have just a few but have them in your room with you all the time?

 

While having the dolls near me in my room would be super cozy, a room designated for hobbies and crafting would be a dream come true. In that way I wouldn't have to worry so much about fumes and particles from the somewhat toxic materials I work with and would work with to customize my dolls, and would have nearly limitless space for new dolls and projects so my creativity could run wild.

Would you rather get a mindblowingly gorgeous doll of a size that's hard to find wigs/clothing for, or a really pretty doll of a very basic size?

 

Mind-blowingly gorgeous. I have a hard time finding clothes already, so I get most of them custom made anyway. I have a dedicated tailor on etsy that does an amazing job, so I would just go to her for clothes.

Would you rather be able to make your own clothes, but have them be mediocre and boring, or buy all your clothes but for a cheap price and great quality?

 

I would much rather buy all the clothes for my dolls. I don't have enough time or space to be making clothes.

Would you rather have a hybrid doll that doesn't match in resin color or proportions?

 

I would rather have one that doesn't match in color.

Would you rather a doll head with 6 extra eyes on their cheeks, or a baby doll head with smaller heads coming out of their forehead and neck area? (these are both already existing BJD heads)

 

Definitely the one with extra eyes. I can think of some cool characters I could make for that doll, whereas a baby head covered in little head polyps just sounds surreal and kind of ugly....

Would you rather have all your wigs be the exact same color, or all your eyes the exact same color?

 

Wigs all the same color. Then at least they could be different styles. Most of my dolls have dark brown or black wigs as it is.

Would you rather have a doll with hooves or bird claws?

 

Hooves! Bird claws would be more unique, and it would still be cool, but I've always been a suckered for fauns. In fact, hoofed dolls are one of my absolute favorite things. I want a hoofed doll so badly, hnnng!

Just to continue the theme: Would you rather have a centaur or a harpy? Harpy has wings for arms, btw.

 

Considering I already have a centaur... a harpy would be AMAZING! Hilariously, I had brought this topic up with my wife a couple of days ago. XD

Would you rather find doll furniture in the right scale, but lack the room to display it properly, or find furniture that is grossly out of proportion, with plenty of room to display it with your dolls?
