What's your hobby obsession?( apart from actual dolls)

I'm obsessed with fabric and re-ments.

 

Currently~ Green Lantern: The Animated Series. I am loving all the characters~
NO ONE say anything about that Ryan Reynolds flop. It's totally unrelated other than the characters and franchise. >_> The show I currently love and have OTPs from is a 3D animated cartoon. It's quality story telling, and people are dying because of feels. You guys are going to love it. Giancarlo Volpe (worked on Avatar: The Last Airbender) is the director.

 

For me, it's both eyes and wigs! My dolls will never have a shortage of either!

Mainly clothes. And not even the cheap kind, I only seem to ever fall in love with the outfits that are like, $50 or so. man, when I finally get my girl ... I can already hear my wallet weeping.

otherwise, in-scale props, such as toys and furniture. My tinies have their own little doll couch and a chair(That was originally a cell phone chair I got at Claire's for five bucks). They also have a bunch of Mini Lalaloopsy's to play with.

 

keep buying items to make them props. I love making props for them and seeing how they can pose with that item.

 

Jewelry, any type of charm or anything. I'd automatically be like "my dolls would look fabulous with this!!"

 

I have way more sets of eyes then I'll ever need! I love buying them, trying them out
Also, making jewelry for my dolls. It's a nice stress relief to do too so they have more bling then they can possibly wear and I feel better! ^_^

 

I love beading, so much beading, I could spend small fortunes on swarovski crystals and seeds beads and miyuki and tila....

 

Wigs... or eyes? Eyes are the thing most likely to sneak into an order when I didn't intend to get any, but wigs are more likely to be the reason I'm making the order in the first place.

I really love glass eyes. I can't really explain it except that I love the shine on them.

 

photographically i'm obsessed with detail/macro shots, especially of doll hands, feet, lips and eyes.

stye-wise, although i own some very beautiful long-hair wigs, the majority of my dolls wear short style wigs. this is partly for convenience (so many less flyaways) and partly because i like short hair aesthetically more than long hair, unless i think the doll in question is the kind of character who would keep or prefer to have long hair. wigs are also the doll accessory that i buy the most and pay the most attention to.

I collect anime figures and I'm obsessively hunting for rare items for my large Byakuya Kuchiki (Bleach) collection!

 

My current obsession is buying accessories, shoes and wigs for my boy. I cant get enough! My obsessions do kinda change because at first it was clothes.

I'm obsessed with buying eyes and dresses. I only have two pairs of eyes not being worn now (I have many acrylic ones that came with my dolls, but I don't use acrylic) but I have 3 more pairs coming in just because LOL. As for dresses, most of my girls are feminine (Besides Baella, but she still wears a skirt) so I have tons of dresses for them because they just look too cute in them Oh, and socks. I have socks and stockings coming out of my ears. Every single one of my dolls wears socks or stockings, and if I ever see a cute pair I don't own yet, you can bet I'm going to snatch it up.

 

Sewing, reptile keeping and toy collecting

 

Freckles. When I buy the next two dolls on my list I will have 5 freckled dollies out of 5. I wouldn't mind having thousand dolls with freckles.
AND
Wavy soft wigs. I test wigs by patting them. They score the highest if they're pleasing to my palm XD

 

Sewing and re-purposing clothing and making jewelry. I can't wait to apply these to my Anthony when I get him!!!

 

Shiny black clothing! My boys own so much faux leather pants, boots, coats, even hats!

 

I really love doll wigs. I don't buy them unless I need them, but I find myself often browsing through various stores at different ones, more than I do with other items.

 

Well, my cloth collection pre-dates my discovery of BJDs by two decades. I have A LOT of cloth, and yet, not enough, because I keep buying more... and I really need to get to Joann's fabric before they sell out of that amazing black red silk, which would make SUCH a great 1960's Hollywood glamour girl dress.

Clothes? My first doll has, at a guess, 30 outfits. Oh, and eyes, and shoes, and jewelry to go with each outfit , of course, and wigs, and furniture.

Props... I just scored 7 tiny cap guns that are cast metal with working triggers. I cut them off of the key rings they came on, filed the bottoms smooth, and painted them them black, and gave them a high gloss varnish. Why 7? Because they had 7 different kinds of course!

Trees... they have bonsai.

Stones, I have been collecting fist sized rocks from a stream for two years... eventually I plan to build them their own house.

Oh , and books... little handmade books from Tibet that are just 4cm tall, that I get at a local Global Free Trade shop, they are blank, and I write my dollies favorite poems in them. They are like candy, I can't resist buying them, EVERY time I go into that store.

 

Wigs and props, tons of them.
I really like changing my dolls' hairstyles. And I don't know why but I'm obsessed with weapons, really love seeing my dolls hold some guns or swords.

Clothes, clothes, clothes! It seems that every other outfit I see is a must-buy... Grr I need a bit of self control or my wallet is going to be empty. Dresses, coats, vests, accessories, shoes, I need more! Haha can never have too many clothes... Might need a large dolly closet

 

I'm obsessed with wigs ( I have 2 dolls and and 12 wigs, more on the way) and accessories, everywhere I go I'm buying keyring miniatures, Christmas ornament miniatures and looking for doll sized furniture. I've spent more on those than I have on the dolls!

 

I do it for a living now but I'd have to say photography anyway. I'm always snapping pics of something. I also craft a lot. I work with beads, polymer, yarn, sew a bit. I also read a lot and I play a lot of computer games too.

 

I am obsessed with finding character-specific accessories for my dolls. Most of them have at least one item that is very special to them or simply completes their signature looks. For Yael it was his Mickey Mouse ears for example, for May I hunted around forever for the perfect gasmask and assault rifles and for his brother Ravel, who's not even here yet, I am already dreaming of a 1/3 sized tattoo gun and tiny latex gloves (ha, as if) and butcher knives.

 

I already have a fabric problem.....so that doesn't count AT ALL. But their little shoes are to die for. I own more doll shoes than human shoes. So not good. I actually got like 5 new pair for Christmas this year....

Japanes traditional clothing. I can cloth all my dolls in at least one outfit, at the same time, some own up to 4 or five. And I may add, non of them is japanes.

 

Can't stop buying clothes and wigs...when I absolutely need to invest more money on eyes or shoes:/

 

My major umbrella hobby is that I'm a member of the Society for Creative Anachronism, or the SCA. Within that group I do a lot of period costuming, period cooking, knitting, viking whip-cord, archery, cheese making... about a thousand different crafts. It's a fantastic organization if you love history and would also love the excuse to get into a million different hobbies.

 

Wigs ... I love to see how they can instantly change the personality of a doll. But ... it goes in cycles too. Sometimes a wig binge, sometimes a period costume binge, sometimes props for a diorama binge. My latest one is a 'pet' binge ... toy animals that will make good companions for the dolls. ... always some kind of binge.

 

Sewing her clothes, I love making things that fit her personality just right and making things just for the fun of it or because she just looks so cute.

 

Writing, sewing, knitting, learning new things, cartoons, videogames...

And that's just the top of a very slippery slope.

 

I'm obsessed with taking photographs of my BJDs! I seriously think I would buy BJDs just so I could take pictures of them. I love making them seem real, like they have their own thoughts and feelings. For accessories, I buy more wigs than just about anything else, but I am obsessed with the look of urethane eyes. I can't wait to get my hands on a couple more pairs.

 

I love magnetic parts @_@ My buying has really gotten out of hand. I have things for doll sizes I don't even own -_-

 

I'm obsessed with item that I can re purpose as dolly accessories. Especially fancy jewelry boxes.

 

I don't know if it counts but some people said sewing so...

I think I'm obsessed with doing faceups. I wanna wipe one off even if I like it just so I can make a new one. (If only MSC wasn't so gosh darn expensive.)

 

Costuming and re-purposing things. I shop with my boys in the back of my mind, always, but I only get things that fit with their characters.

 

I'm obsessed with buying doll wigs. I keep trying to get my boy doll a wig that's not blonde (at this rate I'm afraid all my dolls will end up blonde)... But nothing else looks right so keep buying more. xP My other doll can't wear them either because she's an MSD. I'd sell them but I keep telling myself, "oh you'll regret it... Watch you'll buy another doll in summer/watch your pre-order doll will arrive and you'll need those wigs..."

 

Personal accessories and props like miniature magazines, mugs, cigarettes, laptops etc. and other things that mimic human "stuff."

 

Right now I'm obsessed with trying to get my doll set up with something that could be like a flat...which means getting her clothes, accessories, and some furniture.

 

Finding the PERFECT whatever. Like, the perfect wig, or the perfect shirt, etc. I end up looking at like a hundred different items before I buy something.

 

Fabric...Tons of fabric...And ribbons...More stuff then I know what to do with. In nearly every color.

WIGS. I need other things first but I keep checking out wigs. Second would be leggings then eyes and lastly shoes.

 

I have a problem with old, cute, limited outfits from Volks, Dollheart, and Volks x Baby the Stars Shine Bright. I've been in the hobby for nine years now and I have this compulsion to finally collect all the things I missed out on when I was too young to buy them. Sadly, most of them are girl outfits, so my boys' wardrobe is sorely lacking! I gotta get it under control, lol~
