What's your hobby obsession?( apart from actual dolls)

FUR WIGS!!!!!!!!! --> i have more wigs than i do heads T__T but the thing is, my dolls once they have been decided on what hair style they go with they normally do not wear any other wigs, so all those wigs i bought are just cause im obsessive T__T

 

Bags. Like... back packs and handbags... and little purses *-*
SO CUTE I could have them all. Hayden has like... four back-packs, three little travel bag things... and five handbags.. He's guy but who CARES XD
They're easy to find here and so cheap... so I buy more.
I'm terrible. He will be able to carry many things though...

 

i can`t stop buying three things: fabrics, shoes, and wigs.. and no, my obsessions do not change at all `cause i need fabrics to sew my loved ones clothes. how about shoes and wigs?? well.. i can`t make them, so i have to buy them. =)

ohh i forgot to say about their eyes!! i don`t change their eyes at all. if i don`t like their default eyes, i`ll change them only one time.. and that`s it, i won`t change them again. uhmm that`s good, right?? hehe. ^^;;

 

A deck of cards. X3 Seriously.

I've been trying to create a realistic and accurate deck of playing cards for my boy, Russel. Granted I don't have the doll yet, but Russel's been in my head for several years and he made it very clear that he wanted this deck. Demanding little sprog. >_>

(Because nothing is more fun then sitting down and attempting to cut 52 identical rectangles out of cardboard with an exacto-knife, then looking at the clock to realize its six in the morning.)

 

Eyes. I love them

I desperately need some new ones, and it's just fun to find nice ones!

I have SHELVES full of fabrics.. vintage stuff, new stuff, old clothes bought specifically for fabric.. you name it, I guarantee I have it! most of it with the specific outfit in mind, and I am going to have to live another 183 years to use it all, but who cares.. I HAVE to have it ALL!

Wigs.. ok, so I have owned three different size doll heads.. but 47 wigs - what kind of crazy is that????? and I just ordered 3 more (cos it makes a round number lol!)

 

Too many wigs, too many shoes (is that possible???) and definitely too many steam trains.....

 

It's starting to look like my obsession is eyes. I have one Dollfie but five pairs of eyes; Izkaela's default blue, a green pair, a champagne pair, a burning amber pair, and a blue, violet-encircled pair is on its way. XD And I'm sure there will be more just as soon as I have money again.

 

I found a deck for Tristan in a quarter machine. It's meant for Texas hold'em. It took me $0.50 and a poker chip to get them. (I have an even tinier deck that was bought as a charm bracelet charm, but I don't wear on my bracelet anymore...)

For me it's fabric and patterns. Between Tris and the two heads we have three wigs, one pair of shoes and 7 eyes. (7 eyes, as in 3.5 pair), but I have more fabric and patterns than I know what to do with.

 

I haven't bought anything for a while due to other monetary priorities (boo!) but I know exactly what I would be buying... shoes! Something about the tiny, beautifully-crafted doll shoes makes me go all gooey. I have a wishlist for them that's as long as my arm.

 

Clothes! They have too many and yet not enough...

Besides dolls I am obsessed with anime and am a graphic designer on my local Anime Society exec; last year we hosted my state's first ever Anime Convention.
Besides that and dolls, DRAWING~

I want to get two optional heads for Talon, even - maybe three, since I want a sleeping F-16 for him, too. The other two would be for when he's disguised as his other personas - Blake and Phoenix.

I want to someday get sleeping heads for Wren and Darryl, too. Which would be amusing, since thay're nearly sleepy-eyed as it is. And an SA-head for Umbrae. And more hands for Wren - she can never have enough hand options.

I just bought another pair of hands for Darryl.

 

There's so much, I really can't get stuck on one thing, and I have to balance out what I buy because of funding. If I had my pick of going on a shopping spree for one type of item, though, I think it would be wigs. I just need better ones. Early on, I bought all these fur, and then realized I don't like the look of fur much at all, so now I need 'hair' wigs. And better quality eyes.

 

i'm really trying to stop buying fabric.

 

cute little strappy dresses. anything with strappy sleeves and a ruffled skirt is the DEATH of me. miss ariel has too many dresses.

 

for me its fabrics,tons of fabrics....ya know what the worst part of that is?.............I cant sew!!

 

Lately it seems to be mislabeled things. I bought eyes for Anthea that were two sizes too small (even though it said 18mm on the site AND on the package... I guess their 18mm is smaller than Luts 18mm.) and a pair of stockings that were about four sizes too big.

But, if I had more money, it'd be wigs and shoes. I love the tiny little shoes. They're so cute!

 

I'm a shoe junkie, especially for "real people" shoes. I don't care if I don't know what my doll is going to wear them with, if I see them and love them I get them because I know they're not going to be around if and when I actually need them. I'm finally pruning the shoe collection a little but it's painful and slow.

My real hobby with these dolls is sewing, but I'm making a concerted effort to actually use some of the fabric I've been accumulating. You know, all those outfits you said you were going to make "someday"? I decided that someday is NOW, and I am seriously curtailing the fabric shopping until I work through at least some of my fabric stash!

(But if I see something special, I know I won't resist!)

And Roleplaying, like those are my two biggest obsessions in this hobby.

 

Hmmmm...buying clothes and such for the dolls. This past week, it's been wigs. I just bought...five of them, three from JPopdolls and two more from Luts. I also have been buying doll furniture, even though I have no ROOM for it. Craft stores are wonderful places.

I bought two dressers that are perfect for MSD sized dolls and smaller. Now I'm painting them, and I'll probably put them up for sale when I'm done. I'll also paint different sized wooden chests for storing clothes and see if I can sell them, as well. Painting wooden furniture is definitely a hobby, one I'd started even before discovering bjds. Eventually, I'll get around to trying to make jewelry for them, as well.

Oh, and writing. I adore writing, especially novels (and fanfiction). Although my writing doesn't have much to do with my bjds...yet. But I've been considering a novel about bjds and trapped spirits. I've just got to finish the one I'm already working on, first.

Fabric! I love to design and make clothes for all my dolls. It's so cheap compared to buying fabric for human sized projects I tend to go a little overboard.

 

For Alister? He is new, so I am just get outfits for all occasions for him.

 

Cute clothes. I can resist shoes and eyes, and most wigs. But I buy cute clothing for my dolls soooo much! My dolly dresser is overflowing. Lately, I've been semi-obsessed with wigs because I don't have a lot of them. Mostly funky colors and I want to have more natural colors, so I've been buying some here and there if I have a few extra bucks that particular week.

 

I've been buying fabric and making clothes non-stop. I've made three shirts, jeans, a jacket and a wig in the past three weeks.

And my mother is so made at me because my stuff is all over the livingroom.

 

Fabric, far more than I can use and books. Books and magazines about BJD's and books with patterns in them to be drafted or scaled to BJD's. But what do I do with most of my free time? Sew,no! Cruise the internet ;-P

While I'm saving up, I can't help but stock up on fabric, ribbon, and trim to make outfits from XD I have tons of vauge ideas that I can't wait to try out.

 

Definitely accessories. Some have been gifts, and others I've bought myself, but I love little things for Az (and Angel, and even Ryuu) that I can't find easily around the house. I've got no problem making a bed out of Azure's box and a pillow case over his box pillows, or a vanity table out of drinking glasses and a book, but I love finding little to-scale things for photos or "just 'cause."

I had to resist buying a bunch of little hair clips for Angel the other day because I wouldn't be able to use them all!

I have, in my possession right now, one head, an Igon-S. I have a Lishe Special head coming back to me at an undisclosed date, and I'm going to be paying for a Na-Nu-Ri head. That's three heads, no bodies. I have a feeling that I will always own more heads than bodies, so that's one obsession.

That said...I have more props than my shelf can hold, right now. Mini school supplies, cell phone, backpack, toys, etc. I love going out and finding little scale things for them-I need to stop, though, because I need money for them, too~! That covers the other obsession.

The majority of everything I've gotten is purple-does that count as an obsession?. The new guys need stuff, too....:\

But even with all that, I only own one wig, and no eyes. And currently only one shirt. Need to get on that....

Lol, I've even bought eyes, just because I thought they looked cool...but I can't bring myself to change anyone's eyes, because their eyes are a part of their character.

Well, I take that back, I am going to change Gunnar's eyes from his default blue ones to these really neat purple cat's eyes, because they will go better with the wig he prefers to wear. So meanwhile, I try not to look him in the eyes too much, I don't want to connect him with the blue ones.

Signey will also get to have a pair of neat purple eyes too, once I get her faceup done. ^_^

Still I have all these other really cool eyes just hanging around...guess they're just going to have to wait for the right eyeless doll to come along. ^_~

I buy lots of wigs too, but everyone mostly has one specific wig that they prefer to wear.
Lucifer is the only one who actually owns several different wigs, all either purple or black of course, he likes to change his hair a lot.

I've bought tons of clothes too, mostly for Lucifer since he loves clothes and dressing up in different outfits!

Oh, and I'm always looking for toys and other things which I think my guys might like. Especially if I'm away on a trip, I like to bring them back presents.

 

Since I don't have a doll yet, my new hobby has been sitting at my computer looking at everyone else's dolls . And I've started drawing dolls for people.

Despite all the clothes I buy, I still have to say I have a lot of wigs. 6 so far, and I keep seeing more that I want for my girl! They're so hard to resist...

 

Fabric. We have bags and bags of fabric but no time to make anything. T^T It doesn't stop my Mom & I from buying more every time we go to JoAnn's though because "eventually we'll need this and they might not have it in stock". I know when I find the right kind of white gauze I'm gonna flip and buy the entire bolt. >____<

 

i have a real problem with dressing my boy in girls clothes.... i mean everytime im on the marketplace i only look at the girly stuff. poor guy

I have 5 heads, and 2 are completely just to modify. I keep seeing headmoulds and I have great ideas for them, but I don't want to keep them at all. I just want to make them into something else and then move onto the next one XD;;

 

Right now, I'm obssesed with clothes and accessories. Since my boy hasn't got many of clothes and his size is rare ^_^
And I'm interested in doll props too

 

Tiny props...I just love miniature things and now that I have dolls I can use all those little miniature things that I used to buy for no reason other than I like miniature things

 

For me? Tiny threads and knitting needles, mostly thread though. If you look at the last page of the knitting circle thread in the sewing forum, you can see why I am always either in the process of trying to knit, knitting, or plotting my next knitting project. So for me, it's forever tiny threads and yarns to make into outfits..

Other than that.. it'd be a toss-up between shoes and wigs. I have two dolls, and 5 pairs of shoes, and 4 wigs. I can't make them, so I tend to buy them. But that's about all.
