What was the first doll you wanted to buy?

The first one I truly wanted was a Minifee Celine, because I planned to use it to shell one of my OCs, but then my plans changed and now I want a totally different doll to shell her.

 

The very first doll I was interested in was RingDoll Grown Illya. He had my heart from the start. The only problem with that is that he's pretty pricey and at the time I was a mega newb to dolls. So it wouldn't have been the best of choices for me. I would have been diving in head first without even knowing the size of this sculpt or anything else about him other than the fact that he was beautiful! So good thing he's super pricey huh?

 

A Dream of Doll Shall when it came out way back in 2000 whatever. At that time I was just admiring from a distance and setting her as my wallpaper.

 

The first BJD I remember ever wanting was DOD Sha, who I thought was perfect. When I came back to the hobby a bit ago, I intended to buy him, but I found out they're out of business, so I never got the chance. I think if I ever see him on the secondhand market and he's not too expensive, I'd probably go for it.

 

The first bjd I ever wanted was a minifee woosoo vampire girl. I still see some with really good faceups on instagram once in awhile and contemplate it for a second... I just think the head shape might be a little too weird?

 

The first doll I wanted was a migidoll ryu. I still have a fondness for the sculpt but wouldn’t buy him now.

 

The first doll I wanted to buy was DOD Ivan. I ended up not buying him due to his being discontinued

 

She wasn't the first doll I bought, but the first doll I could actually see myself buying was Resinsoul Ju. She came home by surprise last month...as my 7th doll overall. She's everything I hoped she would be, and I'm really glad she's here.

 

I nearly bought a Dollzone Wendy way back when, but the first dolls I really wanted to buy (before Wendy) were Peakswoods Wake-up Goldie and DC Alberta.

 

Minifee Chloe, she was the first bjd I had ever seen. I didn't end up ever getting one and now that I've seen so many I dont think I would. I like more unique looking dolls

The first doll I seriously considered buying was a Luts Frey. I still love Luts, but theres a lot of Luts sculpts that I like more than him now.

Iplehouse Felix... the first time I saw his company photos, I fell in love. I still kind of regret not having him, but I've since kind of moved on. I'm not a fan of the SD size anyhow. But once in a while I go back to his page on the IH website just to admire him!

 

The first one I wanted was a Ringdoll Don. I ended up opting for a much cheaper doll though. I fell more in love with the company photos than I did his sculpt, looking back. I do like the sculpt though. Right now with my current taste, he's not my first choice but I would likely pick him up if I had the chance. I'm a little sad to see that he's sold out now, honestly.

 

My first "almost" was MysticKids Gene, because at 46cm he seemed like the perfect height to spring me into the BJD world. I didn't particularly like his clothes or hair, but I loved the default face-up he had going on and the shape of his eyes and lips + overall proportions of his face.

Anyways, since he was supposed to be my 'first doll' I decided to make sure I was really, truly ready to dive in and...browsed the entire site on where I found him (think it was either Alice's Collections or DollMix). Lo and behold, I arrived right around the time LoongSoul was releasing its newest boy Min Yan and boom, Gene was all but forgotten. (Sorry Gene)

So now I'm expecting a 73.5cm tall monolith to arrive at my doorstep come late autumn/early winter this year. Whew. And I'm not sure if I'll ever get Gene again, because SD-sized dolls have such beautiful wardrobes and I've already accepted an AS Xi Shi into my house...ooh boy.

Gene gets honorable mention for almost making me hit the "Buy" button, tho. I mean, he was in my cart and everything...!

Definitely the first doll I wanted to buy were the Volks' Rozen Maiden dolls. Shinku and Suigintou will forever be out of my reach, but there was more of a realistic chance of getting either Suiseiseki/Souseiseki since they are both the same sculpt. Suiseiseki has been my holy grail for forever and she always will be. I got into the hobby after I got interested and saw her for the first time. I didn't like her stock photo at first because it really wasn't to my taste. It was much too plain. But then I saw she had immense potential with her sculpt when I saw all of the customized photos of her on Flickr and i was floored. I was captivated right then and there. I love everything about her sculpt, from her big childlike eyes to her impish pouty lips. She's the perfect doll! For me that is haha. With all of the issues going on with recasts these days though, and especially with how the Rozen Maiden girls are a popular target for recasters (especially Suiseiseki/Souseiseki), I've pretty much given up on trying to get my hands on my holy grail of the past 8 or so years now. (Thanks a lot) I'm currently saving up for my first doll though, a cute little thing with big, bright eyes and a mouth slightly open with curiousity. I can't wait to bring my first doll home, but I will never forget Suiseiseki!

 

The first doll I wanted to buy was Migidoll Jina. I had everything planned out down to what eyes and wig she'd have and even planned out a few outfits. Then Migidoll said they were discontinuing their Sleeping Miho and I impulse bought him instead and I've been obsessed with Sleeping sculpts ever since.

 

A Dream of Child Twing-Key fullset. ;c; She was my first love n what got me into BJD's. Man.... I miss DoD.

 

The first BJD I wanted was Switch Ajeong in pale white... I saw him and he immediately made me think of my favourite OC. I never got him, but if I had the funds I would have ordered him in a second!

 

The first doll I ever wanted was an Angel Studio Gabriel. She's the first doll that I can remember just absolutely loving. I never got her, and I don't feel the same way about her anymore. She's not bad, but there's other dolls I'd much rather have.

 

The first doll I wanted to buy was Iplehouse Dexter in EID with real skin, but at that time I was shocked by the prices (I was very new to the hobby and had no clue why dolls are that expensive, mostly because I had never heard of legit and non legit)
I still love his sculpt and would love to have him, but I have no character he would fit to and I am currently working on another project. Also my taste in dolls has already changed within the short time I have been into the hobby (Nevertheless, Dexter will always be my first bjd-love. Maye someday ...)

Doll Chateau Stacy! DC's faery, kinda alien sculpts are really appealing to me. A customized Stacy is what finally made me want a BJD

The first doll I wanted was SOOM Amber Pure Spirit; years later now, I probably wouldn't buy her, I think I've grown out of the preference for the kind of aesthetic the sculpt has.

 

This is hard because for YEARS I wanted to buy a BJD and loved so many. I do remember really loving the Dollfie Dream Sheryl Nome her first round through, obsessing for years, and now I’m so happy to have her. Also the original SDC Renee - so glad to have her in the latest incarnation!

 

The first doll I ever wanted was Doll Love Summer... I still love her sculpt and if I had the chance to buy her second-hand or had spare doll funds I would. Unfortunately I have no spare room in my dolly budget/plans.. but maybe one day

 

The first doll I ever wanted to buy was a Luts HDF Muffin in NS. Funny enough, I never got one. I was in the MP one day soon after I gained access, and found a Dollzone Fei girl for sale that I just LOVED. Totally fell for her face. I still have her, though she's gotten a new faceup since then. I've had her eight years as of July!

 

The first doll I wanted was... Luts Bory! I loved that the doll is so unisex, it's small, not that expensive and has a reaaally cute face. I was also really into Kuroshitsuji back then (good old times...) and I saw one doll looking like Ciel... So I fell in love. Now I wouldn't buy it but yeah!

 

The first doll I ever wanted was an Island Doll Odin. At the time I saw him, I'd only ever seen the really stylized, really feminine-looking Luts-look dolls that everyone seemed to be posting photos of. He was 70 cm, I think? and really masculine looking (for a doll) and I was like OMG HE IS PERFECT. Then I looked at the price and just about died because I was in high school at the time... I forgot about him for a few years and recently saw him again when I was actually shopping for dolls and was like... eh. He's still neat-looking but doesn't strike me nearly the same way as he did back then.

 

I don't have a BJD yet, but I am absolutely in love with Minifee Sarang, and would definitely buy her if I came across someone selling her second hand. I just love her mouth/smile so much! I can't see my tastes changing, but what do I know? I can't see in the future so maybe

 

My first doll I ever wanted was a Fairyland Siean. I still love the way she look today but for some reason never bought her. I was very close to buying her but some reason or another I end up getting other dolls. I think it's because the other was limited and she is not so I can wait.

The doll that got me into the hobby was a Fairyland Chloe lol. Nowadays I prefer some of their other sculpts more though.

 

My first doll was SWITCH's seolrok holy, but I sold him after receiving it. I'll probably buy it back later.

 

The first doll i wanted to buy was a doll leaves Asa his face sculpt was perfect for the character i had in mind when i saw him my first thought was "oh my gosh that's him!" The reason i didn't end up getting him was mostly because i'm very indecisive and kept going back and fourth about what character i wanted to make and still am debating if i want him

I'd say given the time (and funds LOL) i'd end up getting him because i still think his a very good match for the character!

 

Volks Black Cat Lucas. I was dying to get one but he was sold out and the secondhand prices for him stayed high for a really long while.

I still kinda want a Lucas sometimes, but I probably won't ever get one unless it's as a cheap impulse buy. Getting the old CP and DoD sculpts I missed are a higher priority.

 

Oh god I fell for the Asa sculpt as soon as I saw him as well! I eventually decided against it because of his size but he's still hovering in the back of my wishlist... >_>

 

Funny enough besides the scupt fitting the character i had in mind, i was personally drawn to just HOW big he was i don't have the room for big dollies but they are my weakness and i can't resist them QwQ

I wanted my first doll to be a Luts Model Delf Abadon, but didn’t quite have the funds for it at the time. Oh gosh, I really liked that sculpt.

I’m still obsessed with the idea of owning a doll from Luts so I plan to get one in the future, even if it isn’t an Abadon sculpt.

 

The first doll I ever wanted was a Minifee Chloe. She was the first BJD I had ever seen and I had instantly fallen in love with how pretty she looked and how nicely people in the hobby styled her. She’s no longer my style and I don’t think I ever plan on having a Chloe, but I always love seeing photos of her.

The first doll I ever really wanted was a 5th motif Venitu. I think the head of the venitu and the Timeless body are both so handsome and perfect. I started off with an MSD, (Glad I did) but I was extremely lucky when I found someone selling their old Venitu (he's marked and chipped but I love him all the same) So I did end up getting my dream doll

 

Years ago before I could afford the hobby I dreamed of owning a supia rosy. But actually when I finally got into the hobby I chose a different doll for me

 

The first doll I ever wanted to bring home was a DOD Homme Ducan and I could place an order for him 3-4 months later. Still got him 10½ years later and will never part with him.

 

Dollzone Demi-2 was the first doll that really caught my eye. It ended up being one of the LUTs boys instead though.

 

First doll wich i really wanted was Impldoll Aurora, i got her on muscle body but would like to change her body to other newest impldoll body with much more poses abillity :-)

 

The first doll I fell in love was DOD Sha, but couldn't afford him at the time. I ended up buying a DZ three part body Zo instead. My tastes changed with time, so it wasn't all that bad

 

The first doll I ever wanted to buy was Narindoll's 1:3 Narea. While she wasn't the first one I actually got, I did get her soon after. I still have her & love her as much as I did 13 years ago.

 

Dream of Doll Homme Ducan. Then I got him! Then, thanks to unfortunate life events, I was forced to sell him. I've made peace with having to part with him since then, and I love my current crew so all's well.

 

Angel of Dream Lan, saw her at a doll convention when I was researching sculpts.

I didn't get her then and don't intend to get her since another doll that showed up a year or three later had a much stronger resemblance to my fave character, and I had more doll friends around then.

 

A CP El and Lishe! They were going to be twins. That never panned out for me as I didn't have the funds back then. But I ended up with mnf versions of them and neither have the same chatacters. They became completely different.
