What is the meaning behind your DOA username? Pt.2

I like tea and I'm terrible at picking usernames. That, and the story of of Matsunaga Hisahide's teapot, haha.

 

Found a mud-covered stuffed bunny rabbit in the parking lot of my old job. Also, my handle on Live Journal was "I Was A Teenage Lagamorph."

 

I was super into Virgina Woolf as a teenager and the username just kinda stuck.

 

Mine is one of my OCs that I've had for a while, always loved his name and his aesthetic. My profile pic is actually my FFXIV variation of him that I drew digitally. He's a bit of a 'floating' character in that he moves around into different roles for different AUs of my story. His alternate personality is a little different from his canon personality, mostly because canonically he suffers from severe depression and anxiety. I always love all of his incarnations though and I connect with him the most.

 

Before I got married my initials were LC, and there's this Grimm fairy tale, "Clever Elsie"...so I made a little pun.

 

Before I got into BJD Hobby son while in High School stared to watch animes. I started to watch as well and have a few favs both in movies and series. I was getting email address and I thought of animemom. Have had it for over 26 years.

 

I really like black mambas, so I used the first part of the scientific name for them for my email, more or less. The name I actually wanted was taken (the actual scientific name), so I used the scientific name that Albert Gunther (guy who made the first description of a black mamba) used when he described them for a second time, which is just two letters off (dendroaspis vs dendrapsis).

 

i was around 15-16 when i made this account and was armed with a very crappy japanese to english dictionary. So the intent was to be Graveyard-Kitty, or Bochi-kitty but my shitty dictionary said graveyard was Urushi...which I now know is a type of lacquer used in japanese pottery. Still kind of fitting as I love ceramics and would love to get back into it someday. so yeah my username is Lacquer-kitty ^^;;

 

It's a mix of my favorite Poe poem and the demon doll from the Conjuring, lol

 

It's just my first name haha. It is interesting to see other people's reasonings. A lot more original than mine !

 

My name, but longer lol. I never really liked my name due to bullying as a child, so this longer more silly version feels better to use.

 

Mine was inspired by the litter of ten puppies my family raised when I was a kid. We fed them all puppy mush. Nothing whatsoever to do with dolls, as you can see.

 

I'm a cat person—through and through. Always have been, always will be. As for the whole jade part...I can't recall what drew me to the word exactly. Possibly it connections in Eastern lore, or something involving the stone itself. It showed up in the earliest screen names I used, so it's true purpose most likely has been lost to time.

As for why jade-eyed-cat—cats with jade green eyes are a unique, and often exquisite, phenomena. Similar can be stated for blue eyes (or blue cats in general, which I tend to play off more these days in current screen names, i.e. lesapphirecat being my most prominent in use elsewhere). As time has passed, and after my former bottle-feed Pacifica stumbled into my life, she kind of put the jade-eyed and blue/sapphire into my screen names after her arrival (she's a diluted tortie, with a prominent gray coat often associated with blue in certain cat breeds, i.e. Russian Blues). Pacifica has helped me through a lot, and is my ever-loyal little cling-on, full of love, need for pets, and a mile-long stare when hungry.

Pacifica's become my muse and part of my online identity, and I now use these screen names with pride in having her in my life

 

Around the time I made this account I was using two usernames online, this one I would gravitate towards using in places where I knew there was a chance whatever else I wanted to use would be taken because of the amount of users of the site, because it's a made up word. It's the name of a woman elf from a story I was going to write (I only did a few chapters at the time in secondary school years) and a friend was going to illustrate. The story/book never happened, but I still use this username in many places because it's usually never taken.

 

Mine is my cat's nickname. His name is Lucky, but we started calling him Lully. Then made it even longer into Lully Lullers. I found him as a tiny kitten when I was 8. He lived until 19 years old. He was a great kitty!

Agnes was the name of my favourite childhood doll and Agatha is because I am a fan of Agatha Christie lol

 

I was very into the band Dir en Grey around the same time I discovered BJDs, so I chose one of their songs off my favorite album at the time and used it as a username for many places. I still like the band, though definitely not as much as I used to, and the song username doesn't really suite me anymore, but I don't mind it. It's like a little nostalgic throwback for me now lol

 

Old old ooolldddddd internet handle I haven't used since I left dA about. uh. at least a decade ago. honestly, I'd change it if I could, every time I see it my brain does the ancient sins ancient sins chant but since I'm stuck with it, oh well. There are worse parts of my misspent youth to be haunted by I guess.

 

I do a good deal of retrogaming, especially old-school RPGs, and I have a habit of naming my characters "babe" because a) those old games only give you, like, 6 characters for your name, and b) it's funny to have NPC's say "Hi there babe!" etc. But "babe" is a bit short & generic for a username, so I added "-zoid" kind of randomly.

 

I like geodes, I think eyes are pretty cool.

Two very prominent aspects of my favorite game Bloodborne. Fires and Choirs, lol.

 

I used to OBSESSIVELY play World of Warcraft when I was younger, and my favorite non-playable fantasy race in the game were the arakkoa—basically a race of horrible humanoid birds ahaha.

I took to using 'arakkoa' as a username in various places back then, and even 10+ years later when I don't play the game anymore, I still commonly use the name. I always tell my friends I'll ONLY go back to playing WoW if they make the arakkoa a playable race (Even then I don't think I could lmfao; video games really don't hold my attention the way they used to anymore. But I'd have to at least go toy around with it a LITTLE if they finally let me be an awful bird man ).

 

I had a friend at school. She was kinda witchy (what I liked) and told me one day that she found out, that I was alive in a previous life and my name was Lysandra.

I liked that and here we are. xD

 

Finnish word for duck, I just think ducks are neat! (and I had a collection of ~50 duck plushies when I was younger)

My name comes from Sindarin and means (loosely translated) Star of Kings. The beginning of the nickname (Ar) also means tall, which is kind of an inside joke on my body height.

 

My name is self-explanatory although I need to slow down my quest for dolls! Perhaps I should have chosen "just-a-few" or "onlyafew"

My name....I would change it if I could, lol! I couldn't think of a name for my account, it was late at night and while sitting at the computer desk with a family member (and sipping some vodka, I admit) we looked at the pizza ad sitting on the desk and Pepperoni Pizza was born. At the time, I was fine with it as pepperoni was my favorite pizza topping, but now I can no longer eat it, so it kind of sucks! I finally changed my avatar some years back from the ooey gooey pizza picture as that was just plain cruel to myself. I did name one of my Cheese mice Pepperoni, so I guess I can think my username came from him, though it technically didn't.

 

Mine is very simple - my nickname plus bjd LOL I chose it when I made an account on social media for my bjd and I wanted my username to be easy for me to remember since I already have a lot of accounts.

 

A while ago, I got obsessed with the peach-flavored stars from my favorite boba place, so I made a username on a different site referencing those “peachy stars”. When I made this account, I thought to use the same username, but I decided to just call it peachy… Thus, just peachii was born.

 

Urahara is a character, but I specifically chose this character for my Den of Angels alias because his bankai (basically special power for those unfamiliar with the series) manifests as a giant ball-jointed doll!

 

Crescent is my OC and one of my dolls, while the P is the beginning of her last name. Well before she got married. I pretty much always use her name as my handles.

 

The ink is because I love writing and it was my first creative hobby.
“Lion’s teeth” is another name for dandelions, which are an important symbol in my series.

I like cryptids and high strangeness, what can I say?

 

Back in college I had an oc who was the daughter of a raven deity. I was a part of a role play community with it. It includes some of my happiest memories. I'm located in Canada, so I just paired the raven and northern together - and it came my online name for a lot of places.
I've since changed my online name in various socials. My Ebay and Den of Angels account are my oldest online accounts so I just left them that way.

 

Naruto fanfic imaginary baby name...oh how I wish I could change it

 

I generated this name on Reddit, and since then I use it almost everywhere. I wish I could come up with a username that sounds like a name.

 

Mine was inspired by Brandon Sanderson's Mistborn trilogy!
The name was originally for my instagram: I wanted it to have something to do with the word "usva" (which means mist in Finnish). Soo... then I paired it with "kynsi" (nail/claw in Finnish...), and thus usvankynsi was born.

I am not sure how to translate it in a way that would capture the beauty and poetic vibe in it, but my best attempt would be "mist('s) claw". I guess >v<.

 

At the time, I was really into Slipknot's album The Subliminal Verses.

 

It's been so long I can't recall exactly. At the time I was likely heavily into series like Steven Universe or Land of the Lustrous so I liked the gem-like naming... Ironically none of my favourite characters from either shows are quartzes. I also had a habit of using online aliases with 'Q' in it so I suppose it just worked together.

 

One of my nicknames is Nio, a short version of my artist alias, or "Niyo" if written phonetically. Doing the same in Hungarian it is written as "Nijo". However, letter "j" has a second variant in HU alphabet written as "ly" which is pronounced the very same way despite the difference in writing. The pronounciation of "Nilyo" is basically the same as Nijo, Niyo or Nio.

And why the double ly's? Why not! Honestly I can't remember the reason but I have been using it this way for a long time already. Friends on XIV just call me "Nily" and I find it cute.

 

Name of an OC from a long time ago: Yufi the Sage but I just shortened it to sageyufi.

She is the sole survivor of an old technologically advanced world before the gods wiped it clean and turned her, a child, into a demigod. Story-wise, she taught magic to two main characters, but other than that, she is true neutral and keeps her history and true powers to herself.

 

Mine is very literal. I'm new to owning BJDs and "MJ" are my first initials. XD
