What is the meaning behind your DOA username?

I don't have a deep meaning or story behind my username. I am just attached to this username because I've had it for so long now. Every internet friend and even real life friends know me by this username...,.my mom's coworkers also know it for some reason.

But if I have to tell a story hmm...I thought of kimbapchan because my friend's mom always gave me home made kimbap she was so nice. It's sad that they moved back to korea but because of my friend I love korean food now O 7 O

 

When I was in high school, I was very interested in Demonology and liked researching it. Ose is my birth demon, so I started using that name in my username on some websites.

The 93 isn't all that interesting, it's just my birth year.

 

wrxgal - I'm a gal, lol and I have driven a Subaru WRX since 2002... hence the name wrxgal lol ....

My name is a Swedish nickname I gave my oldest daughter Hanna when she was born. It literally means Hannalittle.

 

One time, years ago, I dressed up as a zombie pixie for a zombie walk. Everybody I knew loved the photos, and for a while my online nickname became ZombiePixie. When I registered for a forum but ZombiePixie was already taken, that became LostPixie (because I lost the zombie bit and also because I do sometimes seem like a manic little pixie lost among the grown-ups). Little was added later, mainly because it sounds nice, pixies are little, and I am tiny irl amongst all the Dutch giants that surround me :P

 

Rynn is from a video game. The 007 was from an ex-boyfriend. He was Chanlin007 online so I was Rynn007!

 

I've actually had my username since my Neopets days in late elementary school / early junior high. It's a combination of my two favorite Neopets at the time. >.>" By now, though, it's pretty much lost that meaning, and I just use it because it's how people recognize me online, and because it shortens nicely to Tara or Xwee. Not to mention that it's almost never previously taken!

No real story behind my name, it's just a nickname I've had for years.

 

Mine is from my Doctor Who fanfic days - I had a Time Lord OC named Lady Madrigal Baker. It turned into more or less a permanent online nickname after a friend in England got Tom Baker's autograph for me and asked him to sign it "To Maddy."

 

My first OC in high school was named Clorista. I just started using it all over and it sort of stuck.

 

It's actually my belly dance alias! Which I basically stopped using irl because everyone thinks my real name is made-up anyway.

Sibilance is a term in Linguistics (which I studied in college and grad school). The easiest way to explain it is the hissing sound made by some consonants, like "s" and "z". Fun fact: if you are whispering and don't want to be overheard, speak with a lisp because sounds with sibilance are the easiest to distinguish at low volume sorry...my nerdiness is showing lol

Rinoa is a character from Final Fantasy VIII. That's pretty much it. I never really put much thought into my name when I joined as back in the day I never thought I'd want to make clothes or craft a doll to sell, or possibly have a unique name people could associate with me and a BJD shop or for commissions. I was a big Final Fantasy fan back then and Aerith (my favourite character at the time) was taken, so I just used Rinoa instead.

I do wish I could change it to something more suitable for who I am now, but oh well!

 

Mines super boring, it's the name of a character I use as my online persona (also my artist name) I respond to Astro more these days than my own name since it's what most peope know me by ^_^.

 

Years ago I decided I needed a pseudonym for online purposes, and...

... I simply stuck an 'x' on the end of my cat's name! (My logic at the time was... Uh... X's make everything cool, right?? )

 

Maninha reads as Manin-nya! It means little mana and also a slang for little sister in Portuguese. Mana has been my nickname since I was 14! It was inspired on Mana from Malice Mizer, back in the day, but it also works as my first + second name together, as they abbreviate as Mana! :3

Well, I wasn't alive in the 1950s or early 1960s so I didn't belong to the subculture associated with the 'beat generation' and I don't have long black hair (quite the opposite actually, I have very short mostly white hair) and I am not a fan of berets or polo necks. I don't frequent coffee houses (much) and I don't play the bongos or recite poetry (I do have a few poetry compendiums in my book collection though) or chain smoke questionable substances.... So yeah I just liked the word :P Plus it's a fun word to shout and I am very good at that!

 

My screen name is K-man. And kids stands for my dolls.

 

I got really stressed at how our username is absolutely permanent and all that, so I tried to think of something I'll never stop liking...and I thought of birds lol.

 

Back when I was introduced to the internet I thought it was pretty hardcore to go with the name Bloodstained-Snow. It wasn't hardcore, it was angsty :B I'm not even sure how I got to that name. It may have been a random name generator, or it had something to do with virgin snow.... Either way I did like the idea of red on white, in the artistic sense.
Anyway, years passed and I joined more websites and I decided to just change it to Snow for two reasons. One, I realized how angsty and emo bloodstained-snow sounded. And two, the name was too long for a lot of websites lol.
I stuck with Snow on any website where the name hadn't been taken yet, because it's nice and simple :P And I do love the look of fresh snow, even though I don't do well in cold.

 

You would think I was a practicing witch with my username but I am not. I just have always had a fascination with witchcraft ever since I was little and enjoy reading about traditional and folk magic. When I signed up for DOA I had a book on traditional witchcraft beside me and thought eh what the heck. So when Witchcraft wasn't in use I figured I wouldn't come up with anything better lol.

Iron Dog is who and what I am. It is my pen name for fanfiction and my original work author name is ID Locke (ID=Iron Dog). I am often called ID by friends (RL & online) and I answer to that name as frequently as I do to my real name.

I'm born in the Chinese year of the dog in a metal year, in a metal month (I have a LOT of other metal influences in my sign/date of birth, too). People with a lot of metal influences are called double metal dogs and Tibetans call them iron dogs so my online name became Iron Dog virtually everywhere. Where Iron Dog was already taken I'm either 2metaldog (i.e. double metal dog) or ferrousdog (ferrous=of or containing iron from the Latin ferrum meaning iron).

 

Leo, because that's my Western zodiac sign, + kitsune, because I love foxes. Pretty boring and simple, really. I've used it as a username since the 90's and use it just about everywhere. Sometimes I shorten it to Leokit.

I know that there are a few other Leokitsunes out there. But so far I haven't run into an issue where it was already taken. I guess the other ones aren't interested in the same things I am.

 

Ophelia is mijn favorite character from my favorite anime Claymore and I like the way the number 137 looks .

 

My name means "for kicks" as in "for fun." I hate it, honestly. XD I wanted something generic at first but now I wish I had something a little bit more personal.

 

Well, my name is Rij. Either that was already taken or too short. But I love rodents and give home to several rodents (mostly hamsters), so I figured I'd go with Rodent. My avatar is one of my (late) hamsters.

 

Angel-Star is a character I created mostly 15 years ago for the sake of laughing (My BJD Staarah is based on this character). She is a parody of me... sort-of.
5 is just my favorite number.

 

I like stars. I like constellations. Orion is my favorite constellation. Hatsya is a star in Orion. There. Haha.

 

Mine Is RobinYohHeart!
I originally wanted to use RobinYohPanties that's my deviantart and tumblr name but I wasn't able too.
That name I got from a dumb joke I made with my friend about one of the robins being a panty thieve.
So Since robinyohpanties wouldn't work here I used robinyohheart I figured it was still similar to my normal name but it fit the story/personality I have in mind for my doll. QuQ

 

Back when I was younger, and before I'd really found my internet identity, I went by a few different names: Lady Atheria, Caerilae, and Prysm. Prysm came around since I love refracted white light, how it splits into a rainbow of colours. I love crystals and opalescent things. So, yeah, prisms of light. Of course, this was before the days of built in spell-checker and I actually thought that prism was spelt with a y for some reason. So it kinda stuck.

Now, I just tend to go with Angel Bun, or something close to it. Angel is my first name, and Bun is the nickname my friends call me, since I'm like a bunny. (Hence my new avatar)

 

Once upon a time I was really into Visual Kei bands (still follow a couple of them but for the most part I don't pay attention to the genre anymore). There was a band at one point called Viored who had a song titled "IIIAddiction's child" so my username is from that. I'm bad at coming up with things like usernames so I haven't bothered to stop using it lol.

 

Mine was the combination of two nicknames I use in every online game (Honeyrain & Amrita) and it is actually a song name ^_^ I really like it~

 

Mine is literally the first syllable of my first name, second syllable of the second and last of my surname... together with a -te suffix so i looks more like a name... yyyyyyyyyeah xD;

 

I didn't want something specific for my username because my tastes are always changing, so I was looking up random words and I came across 'iwis' which means 'certainly'. I really like the way the word looks written out, so I went with that.

 

Mine is a combination of the first name I go by online and my real middle name. I think it first stuck when I watched the Mewtwo short with the clone girl named Ambertwo way back when. I've always loved Mewtwo's character, and Amber is similar to my real first name so it just stuck as an online name for me when combined with my real middle name, Leigh. I've used it in my video games and other online formats for years. And it was relevant on DoA because my grail doll's sculpt name is Amber

 

It's my nickname in real life. Got it in high school. If I'm in a community where I'll interact with people in real life, like doll meets, then I feel using this name is better than using a fantasy name.

 

I used to be a fan of a Visual Kei band called Alice Nine. They had a song called "Akatsuki", and I was really into it at the time.

 

Once upon a time, back in the early days before forums when everyone talked in chat rooms and used dial-up, i mistyped the word searches. i thought it looked really cool and used it in a PBeM RPG. People started calling me 'sera' and now it's such a part of me that i use it irl and online. lol (Yes, i am aware it spells out to sera aches. i do have chronic arm pain, but that is not the source of my name. xD)

For mine, I used to love a song called "Carcinogen Crush" a looooong time ago. And carcinogen means "a substance able to cause cancer". And my zodiac is Cancer, as in the crab, so I was like, oh that's a cool coincidence. So I went by xcarcinogen for a long time, but that is very high school angsty and I like the name sound of Carcin (kinda like Carson) so I just stuck with that. Hopefully it doesn't age too quickly!

 

Well, my actual first name is Janet and my last name is O. So I shorted Janet to "Jay" to match my last name O.

 

I am an Aussie, my name is Sam, and I like koalas - hence the name KoalaSam.

 

Amet is short for amethyst, which is my birthstone. When I was a doofus 13 year old on the internet I used to go by "Amethyst Maiden," but eventually wised up to how pretentious that sounded and shortened it.

 

The Blueboy (union soldier) was my college mascot and 57 was my number in football in college.

 

My username means nothing but maybe I collect some toys from Toys R Us. I moved on now to collect Nintendo Amoebo or however you spell it...

 

Kyarwon (pronounced kee-AR-won) is a name I made up for a character several years ago. I ended up putting that story on hold for quite a while, but in the meantime decided that it made a cool screen name.

 

Arthreimus was the character name in one of my games. I don't recall which gone, but I believe it was something with a goddess. Then I used Arthre for short on forums and dropped the h at some point.
Now Artre is the username I use most online.

 

CrazyLittleHanyou was a name that I started using when I was about 12yo (so about 15 years ago!!) but for the following few years I used it for everything! I haven't changed many of those accounts and it seems much easier to continue using it, even though it makes me cringe!!

 

Einon was a nickname given to me when I was in college, and was reading a book (Mistress of the Pearl by Eric Van Lustbader) during a break in class. Someone was reading my book over my shoulder, and ended up comparing me to a character in said book (Nith Einon). She ended up calling me that for the rest of my time in college, so it just sorta stuck. It isn't a nickname that gets used very often now, certainly not offline, but I still use it online sometimes.
