Volks Tenshi-no-Sumika Fair & Standard Model Fair

Poor Nono, she was one of the first SD girls I saw when I was getting into the hobby. I'm glad that the sculpt will still be available through FCS... I don't mind the discontinuation of standards, but when they pull heads from the FCS line-up I am always a little distraught.
I am very excited about the two MSD FCS heads being released as standards, though. I have always wanted an F-04, and now I can finally bring her home.

 

I've been looking at the renewed makeup for the Standard Models, and I like them a lot!!! They seem to have corrected some of the "harshness" from the previous makeup designs. Megu, Nana, and Kun are especially lovely!!!

 

Well, Sara and Nono being retired is sad. But I think that Volks is just streamlining their line. I love the new sculpts! Personally, I wish that they made f-26 and f-43 sumika molds this month!! I love them so much!

 

I agree, Cammy! I think they definitely removed some of the "harshness" in the makeup of the SDs.

Me too!!! I really hope that when Mire is released in the US, they'll give us the option of having her painted and assembled. I know they offer that service in Japan for a fee, but it might be harder to have it done here. Mire is just such a cutie!!!

I'm so glad you got your adorable Nono when you did, MilkyTea!!! I'm hoping that Volks will release lots of special editions of her, like they do with Kira!!

 

Well, I'm not sorry to see Link go, but they are running out of SD13 boys!!

I am sorry to see Nono and Hisui are off the list! I love them both! BUT weirdly because thet were standard I don't think I ever would have bought them- but now that they are hard to get... LOL!

I am disappointed too that the "new" MSDs are just old FCS heads. I'd LOVE to see some new sculpts. All the new sculpts have been SD and SD13...

 

i would looove an SD F-32 also!!! she's soooo cute~! i always thought she make the prefect sister for MSD F-12~!
also SD F-26 and F-32 are soo gorgeous~! i wouldn't mind seeing more of them around *o*!
MSD wise of course, as you can tell from my sig, i'd really love it if MSD F-21 became sumika!! sumika's need more MSD fairy molds!! esp. since they discontinued MSD F-11 and F-12 ;__; actually i love/miss all the discontinued MSD FCS's F-03, F-10, and F-15 were also really cute!! (loves MSD's)

 

Yay! I'm glad I'm not the only one wishing for SD F-32!!! She's such a cutie!! MSD F-12 is one of my favorites too!! I'm always hoping they'll make it available again!!!

SD F-26 is so cool!!! I think most people see it as a boy head, but I saw a gorgeous girl F-26 once, so I am so getting one someday!!!

MSD F-21 is such a sweetie!! I hope you can get one!!! I'm definitely going to get an adorable cat-eared F-21 someday!!

It would be nice if they offered the standard msd in volksusa as both assembly kit option or fully assembled dolls. Kit allows for cheaper purchase but assembled doll would allow for people who are afraid of assembly and painting access to a finished doll without having to find someone else to finish it for them. It is a sad state that you can get standard SD as both kit and finished doll but not the msds

 

I'm really happy about the new makeup. This probably means I won't have to wipe my new girl when I get her and pay more to ship her off to another artist.

 

I'm not sure about orders that are shipped out, but people who have come into the store and bought a MSD kit have also had the pleasure of having one of the staff assemble the dolls for them while they wait. I hope this option is available for VolksUSA buyers as well.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the standard SDs do not seem to be available as kits? At least not from Volks USA; not sure about the International site. Were standard SDs ever available as kits? Or am I totally misunderstanding?

 

I hope, hope, hope pre-assembled MSDs will become available through VolksUSA!!! I'm definitely not confident enough to attempt to assemble one myself!! The Doll Doctor assembled my Mi-chan at the NY Dolpa, but that only occurs about once a year. We can hope and pray that VolksUSA will someday offer the service for online purchases!

Back when Super Dollfie was first created, you could either purchase a pre-assembled Standard Model, or you could buy the pieces you wanted (head, arms, torso, legs, etc.) and assemble it yourself. Once Volks switched to New Skin, they stopped making the separate parts available for purchase except for the optional hands and feet. Today all SDs come pre-assembled.

As far as I know, only Standard and School MSDs come unassembled. In Japan, Volks can assemble Standard MSDs and paint their makeup for a fee, but that service is not yet available in the US. Hopefully they'll add it someday!!

I don't mind assembling an MSD. I actually like putting the doll together... Weird as I am *but* I'd love the option of having a Volks face-up coming on my MSD as well, instead of having to either a) do it myself (oo Clown make-up) or b) sending it off, which is nice *but* the new makeup for the MSDs is gorgeous... I'd love to have option of adding it O.O

Wow, even though I don't really have boy dolls (and if I ever do, probably won't be Volks) I am still somehow really excited about adding SDGr body to FCS ! I think that body is really great so I hope to see more of them around.

I am so excited over F32!!!! The only FCS girls I wanted were both Sato only. I am so excited F32 will be coming to Sumika so I can make her a trip to Volks and do the FCS in person

Now only to be patient for her to be released and to have the money.. U_U

SDGR is very exciting, too. But I don't think I will have another boy that will need that body..

My F32's name will be Madeline. She will be white skin with dark brown eyes and platinum hair I make dress her in lolita or just have her be my soft sweetheart.

I will be glad to see more of these girls out. I lucked out with not liking any of the outfits.. Though the new FCS ones are pretty cute for SD! I'm debating whether I like the MSD girl set or not

I'm very excited about F-32 coming to the Sumika, too! I'm not too surprised, though, given the popularity of Dollfie Dream lately. Maybe this will be a good way to interest the Dollfie Dream collectors in resin dolls.

 

All of the outfits are lovely, but I particularly love the houndstooth and bunny hood outfits for MSD and SD girls!

 

With SD I'm not sure. At one point I thought sold them as kits. Don't really pay as much attention to SD stuff.


Cammy: doll assembly is not as daunting as face ups. A good string puller of the right size makes it a much easier task.

 

I disagree Aree! I'll do a faceup any day, anything that requires tools is verboten.
However I do have a husband. And handy friends.

 

This is fantastic news! SDGr and the new MSD kits are a wonderful surprise. I honestly didn't see the SDGr coming at all. I thought that Volks would have went for the SD17 first for some reason (maybe because it's been around longer). Either way it's great.

I've always loved the idea of putting your own doll together and has always wanted to give one of the MSD kits a try (I really wish they would do the same for the SDs or have it be an option). Sadly in the past the MSD standards never really caught my attention but Yuuto is just too adorable. When he's available I may give this little guy a home with my other boys. So cute

 

I want the bunny outfits in all sizes so all my dolls can dress like bunnies (I blame the white rabbit for my current bunny fascination).

I have an SD13 boy sitting in my collection that is now itching to switch to the SDGr body. I will have to place an order when my finances are better

The other day I was just thinking how I didn't like how stiffly he poses. Thought I was gonna have to do some extensive mod work. Lucky break!

 

Can anyone see any difference in the two new FCS heads, 45 and 46 besides one is a boy and one a girl? There must be something I am thinking, as Volks doesn't usually differentiate like that, they just sell the one head and let the owners go at it.

 

Stella I can see a difference most notably in the eyelids on the F-45 the crease starts from the outside of the eye and on the F-46 it starts from the inside corner of the eye. It also appears to me that the F-46 had slightly rounder cheeks. I'm sure we will be able to see better once Volks comes out with clearer pics

I'm really falling for F-46 and can't wait to see more pics of this head.

 

Stella Maris, they looked really similar to me, too, at first, but the more I look at them, the more I can spot differences. Like Nell said, the differences will likely be a lot more obvious once more photos are released.

They don't seem to have updated Rinon's makeup. Or did I miss it?

 

They said they wouldn't be updating Kanata's makeup and since Rinon was released the same time as him I doubt they'll update hers. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong though anyone.
