Do you think they will release the outer senshi scouts? I keep wondering if it could be like Rozen Maiden and they only release a few characters from the series.

@NabeeRain that's a good question... I honestly have no idea, because I can see them going either way on it. If any of them, I can see Uranus & Neptune being released as a duo.

 

Zero got her character outfit today, I love it so much! It was done by Saphar BJD Tailoring, they've done amazing work.

Here is my Sailor Mercury. She is in Miku's wig as I really do not like her default much. I am still trying to get used to the body suit and I am not sure I am 100% on board with how it looks in pictures.

@NabeeRain she is very sweet! I haven't seen too many Mercurys around! I'm still considering body suits as well...at this point I think I may only invest in the leg stockings, but not the entire suit.

 

Chiyuki got a new wig from Pengin Workshop the other day. It was my first time buying any wig from them, and it was definitely worth the money. I think I'll definitely buy other wigs from them if they re-stock their offerings.

Just saw a post on Facebook. The DollsParty 44 stuff is delayed due to shipping being all f'd up.

 

DD Meiko's face is quite different from what I was expecting. I guess I just thought the face would be longer instead of rounder...and body too, thought she fits better with at least M bust but from the picture it looks like maybe a S bust? Not sure how I feel about the released pictures...maybe when there are more pictures available that'll be easier to decide...

Luckily I'm safe from spending on this Meiko release, but I gotta admit I'm confused she's only an M bust while Luka is an L bust. I haven't played many Project Diva games but I assumed Meiko is older and overall more mature looking.

 

@Kitsune88 Agree, I didn't realize Luka is an L bust, but if that's the case I feel like Meiko should have been L bust too! The M bust just doesn't make her look that mature with that round head mold Hopefully when people actually get her we'll be able to see her in a larger bust size lol

 

Meiko's face is definitely a bit less mature than many people were expecting! Maybe they were hoping it would appeal more to younger DD/Vocaloid fans? Though overall I think it does match her Vocaloid 3 art.

 

Meiko its the oldest of the vocaloids, its very strange that luka has a more mature face and body. I will pre order her but only because i have all the other vocaloids.

I thought that this is a good place to share my very first Dollfie Dream. Amamiya Sakura. I never liked vinyl dolls too much because I was terrified of getting the vinyl dirty! One day though everything changed and now I am obsessed!

Hi! I thought I should pop into this thread. I have had one DDS for many years and found her quite intimidating actually (I was terrified of breaking her joints...)...but I have continued to love the aesthetics of DD. Recently, I took the plunge to get an MDD and discovered that I adore the new f3 frame! So uhhh, it has opened the flood gates.
I have 2 lovely ladies on their way to me. I hope I can share them with you soon!

 

oooh I didn't know Volks started to sell tan DD boys, what line are they from? ( d'coords?)

 

He actually is not a D'Coord! So tan is a limited color of course, during the summer months, and you can actually a get boy DD at any time from the Doll Point locations!

 

@SuperShawol Since not many people have DD boys, it's always so exciting when a new one enters the community. Personally I hope Volks might consider adding another male head to the lineup, although it does seem like girl vinyls are a worldwide trend.

@Lady Ravenswood Congrats on bringing home new DDs! MDDs are especially cute and their popularity is well-earned! Please post pics when you have them home ^^

 

Yeah boy vinyls dont seem to be as popular which is strange to me but ph well. I'm very excited to bring this boy home because theres not nearly enough tan DD, I dont even know if I've seen any tan DD boys around really!

 

I brought one home from my last trip to Japan (they sadly didn't have tan available then). I just love him! I was so excited when I saw them available I ended up buying all of the available clothing sets for ddb at the time. >_<

I totally hear you about going back. They haven't allowed anyone in for over a year now. I haven't even been able to see my friend's baby that she had at the beginning of quarantine! Hopefully they'll be able to open again soon.

@SuperShawol and @yukiri omg same....I was planning to go back last year AND this year, and my friend was going to get her tan DD this summer...but with no olympics attendees already confirmed, I'm really wondering when travel will be open again. Here in the US we're getting lots of vaccines going at least, but Japan has been a lot slower to distribute them. I really want to go in the Fall... ><

All of my DDs have ended up with names that start with "P"
My first DD is named Penelope. And my MDD is named Polaris. Hehe, it wasn't really intentional...but it's kind of fun to keep up, so I think this girl's name will be Persephone.

 

Its a pitty that its very difficult to get a DD boy, i only have 3 and half, a DDSB ren kagamine, DDB Nier automata 9N, a DDB body whit 07 head( my custom kaito shion) and a 16 head that take the body of 9n (its my custom Gakupo). The tan skin its a very pretty color.

I'd love to get a 9S (or 2B for that matter). I love the Nier games (have my White Snow edition of Replicant on the way), but missed out on then the first time. It'd be nice if they re release with the new game, but I'm not holding my breath. The resale for them is just more than I can justify. ;_;

Speaking of male DD...I am soooooo tempted to turn this head into Yurio from Yuri on Ice...um, because I need another Yurio?? Apparently??? But it's just so grumpy!

Is 9S the only semi-white male body? I have no idea (but that's sorta intimidating if so). Maybe I should just go the super small bust route....

 

@Lady Ravenswood omg I can see that head as Yurio. I think the super small bust (+ large hands, maybe?) route would work! Male DD bodies are so hard to come by...

The Angell Studio dresses I ordered for my girls finally arrived, I love them ;u; I was worried I'd have to do significant alterations, but the Dynamite bust fits well and the L Shapely will be fine if I move the eyehooks on the corset about 1cm.


Will also be raising the hemlines on the underdresses for more train, less puddle. (pls excuse my grotty 100-year-old apartment floors)

Ah yeah, I kinda figured boy bodies might be a struggle to get a hold of....

Ok, so! I went ahead and picked up a ss bust part!
Figured it was my chance while they are discontinuing them since he is currently on a WS body and it works well for him even though he is SW. Maybe someday he can get a different body....

Only large size white hands are like pointy fingers though. And I have a bunch of hands for this body already, so for now he'll just have to make due. Maybe it's time for fun manicures! Change out the sparkly pink polish they currently have to black or yellow.

For changing bust parts, I'm assuming that I'll have to use a hair dryer. Anyone have advice for a vinyl newbie?

 

Hair dryers definitely make it easier, just don't overdo it. Volks vinyl bodies tend to be a little soft anyway, so a little heat can go a long way. Mostly, just be patient when you're prying the old bust piece off; the bottom opening is slightly smaller than the framework, so go slowly and tug gently. I found that Volks DD bodies are much easier to work with than Obitsu bodies. When I changed my DD's bust, I used the shoulder holes to tug on/push the frame down with.

They're very pretty dresses! And your girls look like they stepped out of a period anime.

I'm not surprised by the "puddling" though, A-S dolls tend to be closer to 62cm, mine is taller than my mom's SDGr girl, and all of their dresses I've gotten seem to go on for days. Though mine are of east Asian style, with so many layers of floofy fabric I lose my doll's legs in them.

 

Does anyone have a link to any side by side comparisons of the DD heads that are on Volks site? DDH-01 and so on. Google mostly turned up character ones like Miku, Karin etc. Do they get rotated out?

I've never needed any heat on Volks dolls. Unlike Obitsu's ones, they are quite easy to disassemble: just push head firmly up, and it goes off its handle. Compared to this hands require almost no force to be removed. And after that you are all done: upper torso sits completely loosely on the frame.

 

The ss bust is shipping, so hopefully I can change it out smoothly. I'm excited!

 

I had a heck of a time changing the bust on my girl...but it's an older body, so it's possible newer vinyl/frame would be easier to work with.

 

Ah, how old? Mine is Mariko Sensei's body. The new bodies I've gotten just recently seem like they have softer vinyl, yeah.
