50–65cm Dolls Volks Lina Inverse Dollfie Dream

    1. I have many fond memories of watching this anime with my friend back in 2000/2002 when I first was away from home in the Navy. So serious nostalgia vibes when I saw Volks was doing a 30th anniversary edition of Lina Inverse. And then VolksUSA was doing their own lottery!

      So,despite international shipping's best efforts, here she is!

      I have the best mail person ever. She waited to deliver mail until 6pm, as oppsed to normal where they leave a note for pick up at 1 in the afternoon.

      The box had a picture of Lina on the front

      And here's the first look at her, all packaged up

      Nice close up of her face. She even has the two dots on her forehead (though you rarely saw that in the anime/manga. All the details!

      She came with an instruction manual to assemble her properly. All in Japanese, but with enough pictures to follow along. I had bought a body suit after seeing the vibrant colors in the outfit.

      And there were A LOT of bits.

      Turns out I might not have needed the body suit because every piece that touches the skin is lined in this white fabric. Yay!

      Fortunately the gloves had long lines of velcro, It was enough of a nightmare getting them on each of her fingers.

      And here she is all set up. I forgot to take pictures of how her shoulder pads worked. They snap into the thin part that goes around her, and then are able to twist around while locked on so they don't pop off. The thin part has an elastic bit that goes around behind to help hold it on nicely.

      Her hair is really cool, the bangs have something in them to stiffen them. So glad to have her home.

    2. I'm soooo jelly!!! Everytime I want a Volks doll it's to be a lottery .-. And ofc now the aftermarket price is crazy...

    5. Congratulations! Thank you for posting your photos! I watched the anime with friends in high school around the same time frame! "Give A Reason" is still on my iPod and I always gotta listen and sing along when it comes on!

    8. Oh so jealous!!! I freakin' have memories of watching Slayers! She looks amazing! It would be cool to see my favorite character zelgadis as a volks doll. Wishing.

    10. Slayers was one of the first anime series my friends and I got into back in the 90s, so I was tempted when she came out too. ^_^ Looks like they did a great job on her! Congrats!

    12. Congratulations on your doll!! :) I am also a big fan of Lina Inverse (and especially Xelloss:blush) and I save many of the photos they publish of this doll. Maybe some of the photos I keep are yours. I think this doll is a masterpiece, I would have loved to have it. If you have any photo galleries of your doll and don't mind sharing them, I'd love to see them.:celebrate

    13. Ah, she's so precious! I just love her mouth, so iconic. I love Lina Inverse, I didn't snag her, but I was so excited when they made her. Excellent choice and congrats on your new girl!
