@kranberrijam I get most of the outfits for my dolls from yahoo auctions and TC Doll. And I don't do anything specific to avoid staining, I let them wear dark outfits only for a short time (like for pictures) or just treat the stains when my girls get some. Little stains are no big deal for me

@Tolgy Your Rise looks very cute! Those green suit her very well, though they'd personally a little bit too big for my taste. Even though it didn't work out with the Rise I once had, I enjoy looking at others

 

I wish Volks would restock their body suits for NS, I would take my Sheryl out, but I need a full body suit first. Don't want her to stain at all

@Audrina Mystique I was super excited for Anastasia when she was announced, and then Iori and Yayoi stole my heart too I wasn't planning any doll purchases this year, but all three are so tempting! And preorder too. . . hmm. . .

 

I'm not interested in the dolls, but her casual outfit would look great on my new Miku. No way I'll have the money for it though.

 

I am. It depends on how long the preorder is, though. If it's a year or more, like Snow Miku was, and I only have to put down $50 again, I may order her. Otherwise, I may just get the casual outfit for my Snow Miku. I like her more mature sculpt (compared with Snow Miku), and her outfit is really nice. And according to the Japanese language page, she has a medium bust, which I prefer (I bought one for my Snow Miku, since I don't care much for the SS bust).

 

I know I'll definitely be going for Iori and maybe Anya's casual set as well. Not sure about the Twinkle Star idol sets yet though.

I wish the wait wasn't so long, I really want to see more DDP pics. I'm more excited for that body than I was with DDS.

I'm definitely going to order Iori, she's adorable and looks like a kid sister for my Chihaya.

Anya I'm on the fence, but maybe I'll get one from Volks USA and the other from Volks Int so the charges don't hit me in the same month (most likely, since Volks USA is usually a few months behind on shipping dolls!) She reminds me of Kirika but with SWS so it's hard to resist >.<

I want to share mine too. Her name is Tangerine. Right now her fashion style was inspire in Lolita fashion. But she is a woman that loves to be constantly changing her appearance. I had DD before but I had to sale them to be able to become a US citizen. She is my first DDS until now all my previous DD have been DDdy. Im getting used to the body but I like the change

 

Hey all! I hope this is the right spot to ask this, but I've been looking to get my first DD (first doll ever for that matter.) I've had my eye on Takane Shijyo, but her aftermarket prices are insane! Is it normal for her to be priced at $1300+ or is that an inflated price?

I've had a Snow Miku pre-order but I'm considering letting her go if I can get Takane.

 

That price is normal for the Aftermarket. It is rare to find a complete DD set at a lower price than $1000

 

Well it really depends on which doll you're after, but if you can't find one for a lower price (even after checking the Sold doll archive to make sure of what price they really go for), then I'm afraid you won't find anyone selling for cheaper... Have you checked YJA?

 

Yeah, the cheapest one is 130k on there (it seems shes sold on an average of 100k this past month.) I'm just really not sure if I want to spend that much on a first doll haha. Is she pretty rare to find in general? Theres the possible ban from Volks if I skip out on Miku from what I've read. To buy Miku or to wait a month or two more for Takane :/. I'm just wondering if she'll still be available for the price in that time.

Well, she's a pretty new DD...so it'll take time for people to get over her and fawn over the newest ones released... my (relatively small, admittedly) experience tells me that: Newest dolls are harder to find unless they are pre-order, super old dolls are also hard to find because they've had time to find homes to settle...so your best chance is to wait...I can't even tell you how hard it was to find Melty when she released...there was -one- decently priced one on Mandarake a month or two after they had been sent, and then the rest of them went for $1000-1200 price...and just a couple weeks ago, I found her head on the dollfie dream specific forum for $350 :') It's not the cheapest head around, but definitely not what I'd have paid had I gotten her at that time and sold off body + clothes (which would go for around $500-600 max altogether, leaving me with a $600 head rofl). I saw Millhiore heads -not- selling for $300!!! I find that almost ridiculous, when I joined the DD part of the hobby, it was so hard to find her! And now people had trouble selling them for that much...I think the second hand market for these girls isn't the best right now...

Long story short, what I mean to say, is that it might be hard to find her...and especially for a reasonable price...I think you should keep Miku and perhaps start saving for the case that a reasonable offer pops up?

 

Thank you for the insight! It definitely helps me out . I've been at odds with telling myself the logical thing to do is wait. But when I see that face haha . Melty was one of the ones I want too, and I see her full set for about 1k still. I could buy her now but it wouldn't be the most 'responsible' thing to do haha.

At last i won both the Twins Kagamine, omg. My poor credit card...

 

I won both Len and Rin. My boyfriend had entered too and didn't win either. We had been joking that either we wouldn't win any OR we'd win 2 Lens or 2 Rins. I didn't realize the lottery results were coming out so soon, I thought I had seen Sept 30 somewhere. So it was a nice surprise to wake up and see that I had won the pair.

 

Congrats to all the winners! It's so nice to see so many happy posts concerning the lotteries.

I feel you! I won the twins this time and it finally broke a 4 year losing streak for me. I was almost sure my account was cursed!

The twins seem to have a higher win rate, my theory is that the Dolpa preorder increased availability and has put a damper on aftermarket prices, discouraging scalpers. I have a feeling there'll be many cancelled orders and the clickwar AE will be worth checking if you missed out on the lotto draw.

I can't decide which head to use for my floating DD body so i bought 03,06 and 07 heads and hope that I can decide after giving them a faceup

 

Speaking of the Fluffy Coat, did anyone else see how different the final product is from the sample (missing puff balls, changing of fabric)? I'm actually pretty ticked off about it, because it screams cheapness.

 

Are there final images somewhere? I must have missed those...

 

I'm undecided on the preorder girls, but I want to try buying some of the very limited restock items on Volks USA (like Snow Miku and some outfit sets). What time will they go up on 10/6, like midnight PST or like business hours?

The coat was so disappointing? Even for me who wasn't really aiming to get it or anything =/ bleh...

And speaking of the preorders, they go live in only four days! Very excited to add Iori to my roster!

 

Here's a pic of the coat on Miku. You can see the third puff is missing on the jacket (the ones that are there look horrible), all puffs are missing on the stockings, and the fur trim is a completely different fabric from what is on the photo on the bag it comes in. I am not pleased at all. Hoping I can find puff balls that I like to add to it, but for $140 I paid I am soooo ticked its not funny.

Thats twice Volks has burned me on outfits. Yet I'm scrambling to get the cash to buy Rin and Len's Senbonzakura outfits because I have a serious Kagamine problem. But I do believe that I will not buy another Volks outfit unless its for the twins because I'm tried of being tricked.
