Did they used to stock WS bodies?! I thought you could only ever get them through parts.

 

I don't think they've ever stocked full bodies in WS. Only parts, and only DDII, since it was after DDIII was released that Volks started selling base bodies on their own and I don't think WS was included in the DDIII lineup.

I hope I'm wrong about this, though, because I would love to have a WS girl one day. At the very least, I hope they keep producing DDII WS bodies for a while yet--though there's always the secondhand market, I suppose.

EDIT: Actually, DDIII does come in WS, but still only parts. Seems like Volks is phasing the color out.

 

I thought for sure Volks had some DDII bodies in WS available around a year or more ago. I remember seeing them listed and almost adding one to my cart, but I chickened out. Maybe I'm dollfie dream delusional though, I totally wouldn't doubt it

 

Oh my goodness the faceup artist who is repainting my Rise and Mikuru sent me progress photos and they look amazing I am beyond excited to see the final results and share with you guys!

Mikuru looks 100000000x better without the default faceup

 

Did they?! That would have been great~ I wish they would stock WS bodies, either in DDII or DDIII. It's sad that they seem to be phasing WS out.

Ooo I definitely want some one piece torsos at first I thought they looked a little too slender, but they're growing on me!

 

I hope they don't lose interest in WS bodies, my first DD2 doll is WS and I love her to bits, I do love the 1 piece torso and if they make it in WS that would be a wonderful option for my girl.

Sad to hear Volks won't be doing WS bodies anymore. Guess my WS DD2 is the last of her kind. Not sure about the semi-white skin since I have not seen it in person.

 

Since they are still stocking the WS DDIII parts there's a way to get a white body straight from Volks, so don't despair. The parts just might never be in stock at the same time. ^^;

I have two WS girls who I love very much. It is indeed sad volks doesn't seem to be interested in that skintone anymore. It's one of my favorites.

@Yenna I'm glad to hear it! I'm starting to plan a WS girl, but there's no way she'd be completed this year, so I hope they continue to stock parts for a long time. And Saya's so pretty!

Hello! I need help with a problem please.
I purchased a pair of DDII fisted hands (for my DDIII Mirai) directly from Volks website 1 month ago. The picture below features the fisted hands on the left and my standard hands, that came with my doll, on the right. As you can see the openings are quite different. I've tried to heat the fisted hands up with a hair dryer and it still wouldn't fit. I'd hate to cut the vinyl up just to get these things to go on.
Any suggestions? Has anyone ever returned something like this before?

 

I've ordered about 10 pairs of hands from Volks and only one pair came with a proper opening. The rest I've just carefully carved bigger with a sharp hobby knife. It's not hard because the vinyl is very soft, just take a little bit at a time. Often it's enough to just shave the insides so that it won't even show up when the hand is on.

 

10 pairs of hands and only 1 fits?? That's horrible quality control on Volks part if you ask me. Did you inform them of the issue?
I just checked Volks website and they only accept returns within 14 days of purchase. Unfortunately I ordered these hands in the USA and wasn't able to test them on my doll until a month later in the UK where I live. Looks like I'll have to modify them myself like you suggested. Anyway thank you for your response.

 

Well, many of them are the large sized hands so they fit, mut they were so tight it was better to just make the opening bigger. I couldn't be bothered to notify them because I thought it was normal, and it literally takes a minute to fix. It would be so much more trouble to return the hands. If I'd contacted Volks about it, they would've probably just told me to open them up myself. ^^;

 

I took an exacto knife to them and they fit now. Seems a bit fussy for a new pair of hands that should've been checked before shipping, but oh well. I had no idea this issue was so common.

 

She is SO CUUUUUUUTE!

Also, hm...that's really interesting about the hands. I haven't had a chance to get option hands for Penelope yet. Good to know they will take a little modding!

Wow this really takes Mariko's default look to another level

 

I just got some new hands in as well (Large-Fisted and Peace-Sign) and yep, both of them feature too small of openings. I'm holding on on modding them until I can get a new blade, but I was warned of that issue before ordering, so I wasn't too surprised (still though, the difference in the hole sizes is astounding).

 

I am really enjoying catching up with everyone's new pics of their girls! *happy sigh* Lylyesp, I like your Inori's yukata!

Took a few pics of Lisle, my Saber Alter II, in a new wig and dress today. I think she will keep them...



I love how mature and sophisticated she looks, she is always sleek while my other girls tend to look cute and fluffy.

Just think of all the extra money you'll have to spend on your girls, kranberrijam!

HEEDLESS_X_FEI, Dollfie Dreams aren't as sensitive to light as resin BJDs, but I would still treat them the same. However, be careful dressing them in red or dark clothing! It will stain the vinyl and will NOT come off with magic eraser like resin stains do. Volks recommends you put a plain body stocking under their clothes, and a cap under their wigs, to prevent vinyl staining.
