Finally got a couch I liked, since acquiring the Flower Crown Chair seems like a pipe dream

Anna Josephine seems to enjoy it.


Now I just wish I could find a place to take good pictures, haha...

 

Has there been any indication of when there might be another DearSD release?

 

@bronzephoenix You know they had that limited Hinamatsuri release in early March at Sato but no big news about the next release yet. I've definitely been watching too. Sigh.

 

Vera borrowed an outfit from one of my DD girls - I like the look for her even if the fit isn't perfect!

I've found that combing through my SD girl clothes can yield some useful outfits for the Dear SD girls, too

I changed my Mafuyu's hair last night on a whim and really like the pink on her

I'm also hoping for another DearSD release soon! I have my Mai, Holly, on a DearSD body, and I'd love to get a DearSD body for my Kurumi as well. She has a different big baby body that I really like, in terms of engineering and aesthetics, but they can't share clothes and it's annoying me more than I thought it would!

@snowgray, your Holly is absolutely gorgeous! I love her in that wig and her dress is utterly amazing. That over-sized print is fabulous and really sets the tone...she looks like she just walked out of a fairytale!

Hello, I was wondering what other body you are using for your Kurumi. I want to get a dear Sd body for my sweet dream Una. But I'm also looking for other options in case I can't get her a Dearsd body.

 

@Chibi_Rat, thank you! I think it looks curved at the bottom because her hands are behind her back and it's pulling on the fabric?

@PoeticSoul, thank you very much! I'm very fortunate that a friend was letting go of this set and that it fits DearSD. I wouldn't have thought to use such a big print on a doll dress but it works perfectly.

@Bears, thank you! Volks posted recently some SD outfits that fit DearSD, and the SD-sized versions of those outfits supposedly fit!

@the_unaccepted1, I have my Kurumi on a Baby Delf body. The resin match is not perfect, but it's okay. I also had an Una on that body in the past. You can see how they look in the linked pictures! And here is Coco and Lieselotte on the Baby Delf body. I wish that the DearSD body were more like the Baby Delf or Holiday's Child body, where it can fit into MSD clothing, because a lot of SD clothing looks awkward on the DearSD body. They really need their own separate set of clothes!

Well...I finally got a DSD body for the Megu head I received a few months ago. I love it. Dande (Suiseiseki belongs to @meru_kitty ) is visiting me

And I third it,. @snowgray and @Chibi_Rat... I put my girl in the shorter dresses so they don't drag on the floor on her but the shoulders never fit properly since she is flat chested, and there is more room in the SD chest area...

I do wish they would do a DSD line of clothes and shoes too...in a viariety of styles as these lovelies work with so many...

 

I especially wish for shoes!!

 

My poor girl needs shoes. I don't have a single pair that actually fit her.

The SD clothing I have is hit or miss on how well they fit. This outfit is big, but looks so cute on her

@bronzephoenix Just so you know the next release of Dear SD will be at the Tenshi no Mado Golden Window Fair. More details are forthcoming but I have the models that are coming on my website summary! I wish Volks USA would bring back a Dear SD lottery~

If anyone is interested, I found that Atelier Vita is selling a pattern that will fit DearSDs, and you can purchase it online via download. I haven't tried sewing it yet, but for anyone who is interested, it is on her website here under "Doll Dress." The pictures show a little download symbol so you don't accidentally buy a dress instead

If and until Volks makes more specific fit clothes for the Dear SDs, I'll continue to improvise from my SD-size clothes; it's a fun challenge. The "Komame's Li'l Custom Lessons" books Volumes 1 and 2 had some nice simple Yo clothing patterns that I've wondered about and if they could be re-sized easily to fit the Dear SD. I'm thinking that the intention of creating the Dear SDs was to encourage crafting and sewing for them...

 

More DearSDs will be released for Dolpa 39! Nono, SWD Nono, Megu, Coco, Kira & Nana. They will be in the My Dear Garden outfit set? Please see Tenshi no Mon for more information.

 

Any info on the after event for these cuties?

 

Volks doesn't do an after event for DearSD. VolksUSA has had two DearSD lotteries on their website and the in-person lottery at LA Dolpa last year. I'm hoping for a DearSD lottery in the summer.

 

I think that if you are interested in seeing another online lottery for the DearSDs, you may wish to mention this to Volks! It may help them judge desire for DearSDs in the U.S.

 

I've been poring through as many Dear SD related discussion threads while waiting for my girls to arrive and finally have a picture to share of my Sweet dream Megu Ichima version.



She's wearing an old SDGr dress my mother made long ago that we didn't complete. Now Esmé, my Megu, gets to wear it! I shortened it a bit and hid the folded portion behind an elastic belt.

I'm so in love with this size! I thought I was leaving the hobby because nothing interested me until finally the four sisters sculpt I like a lot whom I didn't find fitted the SD sizes came in this incarnation and to me, is perfection.

Breaking the bank, I went to buy another DearSD Coco to get the body for perhaps my SD Aya. She has yet to arrive so we will see if I am keeping Coco as is or have to sell her head away so Aya can have the body.

 

@yoake, she's darling! And Aya will look perfect on the DearSD body! I can't wait to see her! I'm hoping to bring home a Coco, too. Lucia also looks great on the DearSD body!

ETA: Forgot to mention that I did e-mail Volks about having another DearSD event for the U.S. Their response was that they weren't planning another U.S. event at this time. So for people hoping for another U.S. release, please e-mail Volks and let them know what you want!

 

@yoake I love her so! I really want a SWD foursister too! I hope you will sew her lots of things. I also emailed Volks USA about a DearSD release.

 

Gosh I'm so in love with this size and body type, this is the only type of doll that's seriously making me reconsider breaking my "one big doll for both genders ONLY."

Unless...

Does anyone know if SDM heads fit onto DearSD bodies? If they do are the proportions weird at all or are the DearSD heads the exact same size as standard Volks SDM/MSD ones and its only the bodies that are different? Could I mod a hybrid? (Say for example putting my SDM Mako's head onto a DearSD body?)

 

@EurAsianGirl, DearSD uses SD sized heads, such as Nana, Megu, Kun, Coco, etc. I don’t know if anyone has tried an MSD head on the DearSD body, but the neck is likely too big. A smaller head would also not give the bobbleheaded toddler/antique doll look that the DearSDs have going on. Maybe since DearSD is a very different size, it doesn’t break your rule?

 

Okay, I recalled wrongly, PNB Dolls only did a comparison between the two sizes.
These DearSD heads are actually the same size as SD sized heads, not MSD ones.

I have this pic that I snapped just out of boredom of my SDM Myu Nune and DSD Mimi Lily.
As mentioned above DSD heads are SD sized heads, and although their height is similar to that of the SDM (note that Nune has boots on in the pic so he looks much taller), their thickness is that of the SD, including the neck girth (note the leg thickness of thet wo).
Naturally MSD/SDM heads are not compatible with the DSD body.

I’m wondering since they’ve been doing a lot more first come, first served doll orders lately if they’d be open to that with DearSD. I’m going to pick up my SDM Nana and Kira and my Yo Mako this week so I’ll plant the seed personally.

The Volks News scans were linked in the SD thread, and it seems like there will be a new DearSD appearance! Her name is translated as Megohime, but it seems as though the text underneath says she's the same head as Ushiwakamaru (not quite sure as the scan I've seen is pretty low-quality). Megu, SwD Megu, Coco, and Nono are also pictured.

 

I hope we can get them off Volks International or Volks USA! I would love if they release all of the dolls pictured, and not just Megohime

It is -- but it's super-short, so it's perfect for Stumpy Girl. The stockings would barely fit over her chunky legs, though.

Hi everyone, I was inspired by a Korean owner's picture of a Dear SD Kurumi and pounced on a Kurumi head painted by Viridian House recently. I think she's called Embree.

Here's a quick night photo of her in her temporary look:

 

She’s gorgeous! I’m hoping to find a white DearSD body for my Miruku head, and Ms. Embree makes me sure it is a good idea. XD

Hi everyone! I'm really hoping Volks does another DearSD lottery for the upcoming 2019 Dolpa in Los Angeles!
Does anyone by chance have comparison pictures of a DearSD body vs Luts Baby Delf body? Their measurement look very similar.

@ker246, I don’t have them at hand at the moment due to moving, but I do own both a Baby Delf and a DearSD. The height and limb lengths on the bodies are similar (iirc DearSD is a bit taller), but their torsos are different thicknesses. Baby Delf can fit snugly into Volks’ regular MSD clothes, whereas DearSD cannot. DearSD has a torso almost as chubby as SD! I have my Miruku head on a Baby Delf body, and the proportions are good, though I’d like to get her a DearSD body to match her friend.
