Volks DearSD 43cm Discussion Part 2

Looks to be open to anyone who shows up at the designated time -- and I'm assuming they mean this happens on Saturday the 2nd. Just a time of day listed, and not the specific day.

 

BUT, is there only ONE of each doll? It looks like there is only ONE of everything.

 

That's how the Best Selection sales worked in 2015 (as well as the one-offs) -- there were long tables of dolls to look at, then everyone who wanted to could enter the lottery to buy them.

This is only a guess, but there may be one of each of the four DSDs (including the two Megus) available for immediate lottery entry\purchase\take-home, then a form for Tiffany and Vanessa preorders available to attendees. Or a second lottery online for preorders, if numbers will be really limited. I expect we'll have to wait and find out for sure at the event.

 

According to the updated special site, the DearSDs (as well as the Midi coord models and DDs) will be sold through a lottery: Dolls Party in LA 2017 | VOLKS USA,Inc.
I hope they will have Baby outfits for them or any outfits really because my Kun only has two outfits. Anyways... I'll definitely be saving up to enter for Vanessa I'm really happy they released a DSD in darker skin.

Hi I'm waiting to hear if anyone won of the new Dear SD girls at the LA Dolpa. I hope someone will post pics soon.

She's a Tiffany, and was #8. I wasn't even planning to enter for a Dear SD but wanted to look at them and started down the row and suddenly I was digging out my entry form as soon as I saw that beautiful face. I love her look and I was super happy she was in the blue version of the dress instead of the pink one the website example was in. I actually knew I'd won her before I got called, they had the winning entries attached to a board and I was standing behind the person calling the names and in my haste to fill out the form instead of using one of the ballpoints from the entry table I grabbed a broad-nibbed fountain pen with a bright blue ink out of my bag and used that, and I was glancing at the board and there in the #8 spot was my big fat blue handwriting... XD

At the last minute, I had to cancel out on going to Dolpa because of illness, but a very dear friend put my name in for a blue-dress Tiffany -- and I won! Some hasty PayPalling to my friend and a lot of excited squealing on all sides, and there's a Tiffany heading my way by FedEx from the hotel. (How thoughtful of Volks to offer the packing service and shipper boxes!)

I can't wait to see her and her FRECKLES -- it was the freckles that made my friend figure she'd better rouse me out of my sickbed. Well, that and my having drooled over her DSD SwD Nana -- no, wait, SwD Kira? AUGH no brain -- in person not long ago.

I think my girl's name might be Vienna, but I'm not much good at pre-naming dolls -- have to see them in the resin to be sure.

 

I love whenever there's a new release and this thread revives with happy squee and cute pictures.

I lucked out and won a Vanessa! At first I wasn't going to try for her but when I saw her face in person I couldn't resist. She's going to be the first girl in my collection and she'll probably end up with more clothes than anyone. At the moment we're waiting on a flight home. I'll try to take pics when we arrive. Hopefully it'll be before 10pm.

 

Yeah I wanted to go but I had surgery on Friday so I couldn't go. I hope Volks releases them again sometime. I really wanted Tiffany myself. Congrats to everyone who won and is bringing home a new girl.

 

@Ian-KunX Congrats on your win! I'd also put in for #8 Tiffany. She really is adorable and like you I preferred the blue dress over the pink. At least now I know who to stalk. xD

 

I have the blue dress for my Nana and had planned on entering for Vanessa in blue as I don't like pink either. I entered for and won #7 Tiffany though who was neither of those things. In person I don't know why I completely flipped my choice.

I can barely wait until she arrives home on Saturday. I just had no way of getting her home otherwise.

 

@misskale Congrats on your win. In person they were all so cute. And having any version of Tiffany would be great.

Sometimes the doll just calls to you! That's how I ended up with Tori. XD I just looked at her standing there in the lineup and knew she was going home with me. XD

 

Congrats to everyone who won Vanessa and Tiffany, they're so cute! I wish Volks would hold events in Europe but I doubt that will ever happen.

And Tiffany #5 is home! She's most definitely NOT a Vienna, though, so once again my attempt at pre-naming falls flat. That wild mane of red hair and those green eyes are pure Maureen O'Sullivan, so I've named her Áine Máire. She's working on assembling a doll family to live in her fabulous dollhouse -- lucky girl:



By the way, does anyone else hear the DSD name & number in the Westminster Dog Show announcer's voice? "This. Is. Beagle Number Seventeen!"

Though, to continue that, Tiffany #7 finally arrived. I took a quick photo with Nina before I went out.

 

Here's a quick shot my DearSD Vanessa; #17 at the Dolpa. Her name is Alex. I'm absolutely in love with her face!

 

It's so awesome to see Tiffany, Vanessa, and Ichima Ver. Megu settled into their new homes. I remember asking a woman who won a Vanessa, if I could touch her wig! The mohair curls were amazing! I did not have the opportunity to stroke a Tiffany wig though. Lol.

@Cynthia in FlintHills, Congrats on #5 Tiffany! I was so overwhelmed by all the DearSD cuties, but in the end I put in a entry for her as well. She came with the white ballet style shoes, right? I loved those more then the brown Mary Janes.

I brought home both the black and pink BTSSB Lolita outfits, and a bunny backpack. I was trying to stay positive that I was going to be bringing a DearSD girl home, but no such luck!

By any chance were any Elisse x Veronica Lolita dress sets available at the sumika shop? I did not see any. I picked up the long sleeve under garments set though that looked like it went with that set. I know you can mix and match the short sleeve and long sleeve sets. I was just curious if Volks brought any?

I may have to try my luck again for a DearSD girl during the LA Dolpa after event. The quality of the kimono is amazing, having seen it in person.

 

Is anyone going to try for Dear SD Megu from the LA After Event lottery? I wonder how many they have left?

 

No, the Elise's x Veronica sets were never offered at Dolpa. Only the black and pink dress sets were part of the inventory.

She is indeed very cute. But I'd rather have the kimono outfit and wig. I don't want to take someone else's chance to win their first DearSD, so I won't be entering. From what I recall, two Megu did not go home with anyone from LA Dolpa, since no one entered for them.

 

@Daniel Falls- Thank you for the confirmation. I was not sure if maybe there was a couple and they were scooped up.

Oh, so a couple of Dear SD Megu's did not have a home?!? I was there. From all the excitement of the DD lottery and Dear SD winners being announced around the same time, I was under the impression that all dolls had found a new home. I remember a couple people even commenting that it was good they all found a home in comparison to the last Dolpa where a doll had no entries, and later turned into another one-off in Japan. Lol.

I initially thought that Volks had a few reserved in advance for an after event. Regardless, at least some peeps have a second chance! Even if it's two. Thank you Volks Staff!

 

wah, so many winners! Congrats everyone! I reaaaally want a Tiffany, she was so gorgeous! but I wasn't at Dolpa. I just love her face and that red hair. I wonder if they will release her again...

 

I am super amazed, thrilled, and grateful to have won the Ichima Version Megu. I had the chance to hold a Dear SD at Dolpa in La and fell in love with the size. I was kicking myself for not entering for Megu in the lottery (due to a lot of excitement and confusion I did not know you could enter each of the different sub-sections in the lottery. I thought it was one entry per person and that was it. I didn't know you could enter for more than one doll!) and knew I had to try in the after event. It looks like sweet little Megu was meant to come home to me after all. Gah, I'm so excited!

I tried for a Dear SD Ichima Version Megu as well. Just like at the Dolpa though, no luck on my side. Lol, Oh well, I honestly don't think it was meant to be anyway. I should just stick with my big SD's. Hmmm...now who is going to wear these BTSSB outfit sets?

Popping in because...I won the other Megu I had no idea because I did not ever receive an email from Volks. I just now got one saying that I may not have received (Well Duh) it and asking for payment...I just paid for her but I am still in shock...lol I honestly thought there was no way I would win but what the heck and put in anyways...wow!

The last Dear SD lottery on Volks USA seemed to have similar problems with the first winning email not reaching people, too. Nothing in your spam folder? At any rate I'm glad they sent you a second email

@Seditionary I'm sure you'll find someone who can wear the BtSSB dresses eventually. Even if you do decide to stick with larger dolls they fit SD girls too.

Honestly I was not that interested in getting a Dear SD until Dolpa where I was able to hold and look at one, then I put in for Tiffany and also bought the dresses but I did not win. I decided that I was determined to get one though and was going to wait fir Volks to release them again but then I decided to try fir the after event as I did not have anything to lose and well! I got super lucky!

I'm sure your time will come! Seems like they are catching on and I'm sure Volks will be releasing more!

Also yes those dresses look very cute on SD girls as well, I still made great use of them and there was no way I could pass on any Btssb clothes

 

@SDink I know what you mean! And I am happy you have her, since now we know there were only TWO up for grabs and it would have been so frustrating to lose one with two not bid on! I put my money toward a coordinate model. Didn't win! Next time

Hello! Can anyone please confirm how Dear SD clothing fits a Volks MSD/SDM?

 

Snagged a new outfit for Vera (SwD Nana) at LA Dolpa but just got around to photos!
These sets were pricey but the materials are really nice~

 

I haven't come across anything yet for DearSD at Dolpa this time. :-/ *continually scowering the net searching for info*

 

I hope they offer more Dear SDs this year too. My Kira needs a sister her size. I’m looking to get a Dear SD Coco after Christmas if I can find one.

I'm trying to remember, was the LA Dolpa sculpts Vanessa and Tiffany limited to LA only? Or will they probably pop up again sometime? Owner photos of Tiffany really have her growing on me.

 

I want to say they were limited to the dolpa but you never know. Maybe they'll offer when they have another US dolpa.

 

They said that Vanessa and Tiffany were going to be US exclusives, I don't know that they are exclusive to that dolpa in the long run.

I found something interesting for DearSD and clothing. When I was getting my niece's present I gambled and got a dress from American Girl. It actually doesn't fit too badly and just needed a few pins. It should be pretty easy to tailor.
