Contest Triathlon Round II : Enhance the Chance!

My thing is very nearly self-explanatory, which is rare for me... But I have to remember to actually include a proper explanation for once!

...I've got one final thing that could potentially go hideously wrong in progress as I type. (Fingers crossed it works - I'd dearly like to include it, but it won't be the end of the world if it doesn't work out.) Otherwise, I think all of the major elements are more or less complete and ready for a final tidy/additional details tomorrow, ready for photos on Saturday.

Given how broad the interpretation of the first part was - I'm again very excited to see everyone else's take on this!

 

The deadline is fast approaching and I've had to restart twice I hope I can actually get this done,,,

 

Oh man luckily I have the best boyfriend ever. He went yesterday to the post station and freed my materials after we got the message that they arrived (we were already home from work). I also half finished with my basic construct and can hopefully start painting on saturday morning or afternoon. Good thing that the diffrent timezone gives me some extra hours to work

 

I made the bright idea to rearrange furniture early this week (and we still have more to do this weekend). I'm just now starting to clear the wreckage, find my supplies, and have a bit of work space. I have a very clear idea of what I want so hopefully I can get straight to work on it after a good night's rest! You guys weren't kidding about the stress for this round!

 

I didn't think i would finish painting this thing last night but i did it!! stayed up a little later than i should have but kept telling my self well just finish this one thing then call it a night then figured i was so close to finishing might as well get this thing done lol :P

The lighting today was awful so the pictures aren't ideal..
But all in all I am pretty pleased~~

 

So today the worst thing happened. A particular person that I live with decided to practically destroy my prop while I left the paint to dry. So now I have to re-do everything I have done, plus continue my other entries for the other competitions. I don't know whether to be furious or sad. I'm not backing out.

 

The answer i sboth! You get to be both. D: I'm so sorry that happened! D: I left my stuff out to dry the other night and thankfully they were left alone, yet supplies mysteriously vanished ,making me have to head along out and buy more. ;0; so much for my 'I'm not buying anything'.

 

I deliberately left it to dry in an out-of-the-way place so that it wouldn't annoy anyone, but aforementioned person went out of their way to do this. I thought family members were supposed to support each other. It sucks that you had to go out for more supplies.

 

Well, you know what they say about Friday... It's prop making day. Or, prop finishing day, at least. I've got the basic stuff done, so it's time for the long decorating process... I'd love to get this thing submitted today, but I think tomorrow morning is gonna be my earliest. I'll prooobably run out of light today.

 

^ That's my feeling Kiyoshi. I found MORE stuff I could do to my project in my house (Because I wasn't sure I was going to add on this part before since I couldn't find the material). WHICH MEANS I may not be able ot get pictures until tomorrow.
I have my meet in the AM, but I might end up bringing/hiding my stuff and take pictures before everyone gets there, and then hide everything during Lol! (But that make sme nervous so I probably won't. :\ don't want anyone to see!)

 

Yeah the scope of mine has widened out somewhat today as I realised I had the time to add a few details.

I do not understand though why someone would willingly ruin something you spent so much time creating... ><

 

I wish I hadn't rushed mine. The prop I've made is lovely but you don't have to be a great expert to spot that there's something wrong with it! I'm too waiting for the 3rd challenge though, curious what role the lucky / unlucky bit would play there.

I've got mine assembled and painted. Tonight is detail work. I'm doing better timewise than the previous one, at least!

 

I just submitted my entry after working on my prop all day! I changed my ideas for some parts and I'm so glad I did, 'cause it was super fun to do. I can't wait to see everyone else's props!

 

I just finished mine! As to which it is 9 at night and too dark to actually take pictures.
So.. tomorrow it is! Lol

 

I was hoping to be able to use recycled materials for every challenge but this prop challenge has me eyeing a trip Michael's tomorrow to get the final bits done. Better find a 40% off coupon lolol

 

Lol I had a dream about my prob tonight. Luckily no nightmare this time. Instead I got the answer how I can make my backside nice after messing up with materials

Terror is right! I'm the same way whenever I submit something, I'm kinda terrified I did something wrong and it'll be disqualified... I don't really think that's gonna happen, but it would definitely suck after all the work we all put into this!

 

@Lawrichai & @Alewife - Because said person is a malicious something-something and is unhappy with me because I'm doing something I love in my spare time after work. Ugh. I got the piece finished today after having to remake a very large section...only to take my photos and submit them...then realise I had not only forgotten to paint certain details, but I glued a huge section on backwards in my rush to get it done in time. If my round one entry was lucky, this was definitely the unlucky one.

I'm nervous saying it, but I think I'm finished! Just need to set up the photoshoot, take the photos, create the collage and then upload... This is starting to feel possible.

 

Its terror indeed. Mine is currently drying x.x I gonna fetch some food before I pass out and can hopefully take my pictures afterwards

 

Ack - apologies to the mods, I've played with the photos chosen so many times because of the awkward editing software I've been relying on... Going to slowly back away from the computer now so I don't induce an entry deletion out of sheer frustration. (Sorry again)

You should be able to edit your entry yourself just like a normal thread until it disappears (meaning it's been accepted). If it's already been accepted, maybe start an Ask the Mods thread? It shouldn't be too big a deal!

 

Thank you , but the problem with me is that I don't remember what it was originally ^^; I know what I've used right now is pretty much the same though (same base words)

 

Hmm, maybe just do the Ask the Mods thing? I doubt it'll be a problem.

I do think it's kinda weird that they didn't put the pseudonyms in with the voting posts... I guess they're just for when they're posting the vote tallies?

Really? Weird! I know the just for fun ones had them, but I wasn't paying too much attention to the names on the actual entries. I'll have to go look! I know mine wasn't there, heh...

 

If you have forgotten your pseudonym you can always ask in Ask the Moderators for it. If we notice it, we will most likely fix it for you and let you know about it, unless it's just a misspelling ~ (you need to use the same alias for all three rounds)

I actually wasn't going to wait till the last minute this time but I kept messing up and so I'm having to make something last minute and it's coming down to the wire...

About to finally submit my entry!! The hardest part was getting my doll to pose without threatening to topple over just long enough to take the picture with the prop >:/ It makes me a little nervous for the next challenge in case there's movement or posing involved? Guess someone is getting hot glue sueded tomorrow!!

 

My entry hasn't disappeared yet... Does that start happening tomorrow? I'm scared it won't be accepted!

 

Is anyone else surprisingly exhausted (mentally, physically)?
I really just can't wait for a night off from crafting and problem-solving!
It's fun, but toiling every day for three weeks... I'm beat!

Edit: I don't think I've ever completed a triathlon. Maybe this is lucky 13 for me!

 

Must be why they call it a Triathlon Challenge !

 

Got to admit I've rather enjoyed having an intense deadline-looming project to work on. But that could be my personality talking - I enjoy stressing over stuff like this, it sure beats stressing over people/RL.

 

They're not kidding when they call it a feat of endurance!

Should the next one be posted already? I don't know the timezones or am/pm that well.. but 12am Sunday is that the night between Saturday and Sunday or midday Sunday or night between Sunday and Monday?

 

I think it had to be posted already a few hours ago. I live in Europe so different timezone again, but this time last Sunday the second challenge was already on.
I hope the third challenge is not to find there it's posted (kidding).
