Part three! And the epic continues! (Warning: Nudity, rude language and Wiishu-grammar/spelling.) I think the humor for the most part stands on its own, but the overall effect will be funnier if you've read Wiishu's other stories...not to mention the 'NetWalkers series the boyz come from. Part One Part Two Part Four Part Five (Links to all Wiishu and Pooki's Stories) And for those who are interested in more info on the Adagio body, here's a thread I'm doing as I investigate posing and photographing my new Big Guys. I'll be doing a similar shoot with the Vigor body in the next week or so. Granado 70Adagio Posability Granado 30cm boys' pose-off. Thanks for reading! More chuckles will be forthcoming. Next, we move on to the small boxes and the 30cm counterparts. Part four
Hum, I've read the Granado don't pose as well as some, but they seem to be doing quite well for you! Looking forward to your explorations, and the next boxes!
They have their limitations, but I don't have experience with anything other than these two. The Vigor (Wesley) does quite well. The Adagio desperately needs a mobility joint in the thigh. And I'm not asking them to stand. I find their sweet spot for balance annoyingly narrow, but I'm so used to Wiishu and Pook that that's probably not fair. I don't quite understand why they don't have kips in their ankles, when they have them pretty much everywhere else! I wish they had a second joint in the torso, but I'm not going to try to add that. What I'm really impressed with, posing-wise, oddly enough, are their jointed hands. I've seen so many pics of dolls with jointed hands where the fingers seem to go every which way. These "relax" to a very natural look, and when they have something to rest on or cup around, again, they default to natural and all you have to do is fine tune it. (Please forgive the graininess of the photo. I was messing with my partner's new little point and shoot.) and a different angle I have to admit, I'm a bit disconcerted by how the color of the hands is photographing. In RL the match is much closer. Not sure if it's an idiocyncracy of the camera's flash. The apparent accuracy of the lower one, sans flash, is closer.
My boy coming later this week has jointed hands. (0hmygersh, I'm so excited!) Yours are truly wonderful. Hope mine aren't gangly. Maybe it depends on the stringing? But wow, to re-string them sounds too challenging. That photo really shows their gentle curve nicely. Now I'm a bit more educated what's possible. Thanks! Looking forward to pt. 4!!
Hard to say. Again, these are the only ones I've played with. I SUSPECT it's more extremely fine tuning of the shape of those tiny pieces. These have a tendency to curve slightly inward, once you take them off completely flat. One type that I've seen has a third joint in the thumb pad, which would be really nice. Also, I spent years drawing hands for the GoI graphic novel. I'm rather fascinated with them, so I have fun with the fine tuning. But I've seen other people complain that no matter what they do, the joints pop all over the place.
