The 'no makeup' page features promo photos with the makeup done by Switch's boss, I think someone mentioned it somewhere in this thread, and Switch never sell dolls with these promo makeups. Such a pity, I usually like promo makeups from Switch much more than the ones they actually offer!

 

I've got 14mm in mine and they work well for him.

 

Oh no, the makeup option for Gyoha is now soldout All the artists whose work I like have their commissions closed all the time... I just can't ever be on time with applying for the slots! Maybe I should just learn how to paint my dolls myself.

 

Yay I just ordered my Ajeong head! I already can’t wait to see him. And I was wondering which eye size Ajeong wears in makeup version pictures.. Is there anyone who can guess?

 

Congrats! It looks like he's wearing 14mm eyes with regular iris but I'm not entirely sure.

I don't understand how switch order work They always not available

 

Well, all Switch dolls are limited-time only (except for 3 sculpts that are available every month), so that's that. Currently you can only buy Gyoha M and Ajeong C, and the make-up option for Gyoha is not available anymore, sadly. I was hoping to get it! Sigh.

 

That time is way too limiting I feel like it is always soldout. I want DOHA so bad.

Well, you can either find one on the marketplace (here on DOA or maybe on Twitter) or wait till Switch releases him again. ^^
And yes, he is! Ahh, if only I had more money, I'd get Ajeong in rosy white... But I'm saving for Ryuzo! I regret not getting the Persona version...

 

I just ordered Gyoha in milktea rose! He'll be my first Switch and second SD so I'm super excited! I was debating on whether or not to get him with the faceup but my decision was made for me haha. The faceup one sold out so fast!

It’s such a pity that the faceup version was sold-out so fast though. I really wanted this purchase to be easy but it seems like I will have to spend time looking for a faceup artist and then wait for it to be finished for god knows how long to be able to take beautiful photos... As most of us, it seems. I wonder how many faceup versions they sold. Was it more limited than Ajeong? Did something happen with the faceup artist? Or does everyone just want Gyoha much more? xD

I decided to get Gyoha in Powder Beige after all, even though I’m absolutely in love with Milktea Rose. PB just seems more pale, which is what I’m going for with this guy. Gotta say, Ryuzo Persona’s promo photos changed my mind on this skintone. But I still want to blush his body using lots of pink pastels...

 

I was looking forward to get Gyoha with face up, too, but.... I can't believe it! The time difference is huge, but I managed to wake up 4 hours after their sale's opening and it was already sold out!!!

However, I'm glad I could buy a blank head at least.

 

I didn’t even think something like this could happen, though I understand that there is only one artist who does all the faceups for this Gyoha release... They must be pretty busy haha.
I’m not too crazy about the faceup that they offered, though, I just didn’t want another blank head to add to my headache of looking for a faceup artist xD I now have 3 blank heads at home or still on their way and I’m honestly a bit lost.

 

I think there was not so many faceup version Gyoha available in the first place. It’s a pity that it sold out so quickly. I‘m trying to only buy faceup versions so that I don‘t have to spend extra time on faceup. So I decided to not get him this time.

Anyways, I‘m glad that I ordered ajeong faceup version I also agonized a lot between milk tea skin and normal skin, but eventually I decided to get normal skin.

 

Congrats! Ajeong is super cute in any colour.
It seems like there is a running joke on ig to tag different Switch dolls as Ajeong Closer when he is not even in the picture, so I would love to see more pics of the actual doll!

 

I really shouldn't be thinking about another floating head as I'm still trying to find bodies for all the ones I currently have, but I've wanted an Ajeong Closer for a while.

I have a Milhwa head that I bought during the discontinuation sale back in 2019, and the DF-H 65cm body I ordered for him arrive today. I got the body resin matched for Switch's rosy white and it's a good match. The head also has a good range of motion on the neck. The only downside is that Milhwa has a small head so it looks a little pin-headed on the body, but with a wig and clothes that'll probably help.

Now, I just need to get him a face-up.

I also have an incoming DF-A 68cm body for my Waseon. Hopefully shipping doesn't take to long.

 

@Cloudedmind - What is the circumference of your Milhwa head? I was planning to get the same body for my floating switch head.

 

Going around the widest part of his head he's 21.5cm. In comparison Huisa (not the direction version) is 22cm and Waseon is 21.5cm as well. However, Waseon's head feels bigger then Milhwa's because Waseon has a longer face.

Of course none of them compare to my Volks dolls with their giant chrome-domes. lol

All of the heads work well on the body, with Waseon looking the best at least to me, but I ordered him a DF-A 68cm body. I plan on getting Huisa a 62/63cm body since while his head fits on the 65cm I feel his features lean towards looking younger then both Milhwa and Waseon, and I want him to be shorter than both.

Has anyone else entered the raffle for the Online Concerto? I put in for Yido! I love his make-up!! I guess we're only allowed to enter once for one item, though? Wonder how many boys they've got for everybody!! It doesn't say if they're all one-offs or not.

 

@keara Yes, I also got the body resin matched for rosy white. It'll be interesting to see what difference if any there is between DF-A's and DF-H's resin matching.

Oh man, Yido looks great in Mocha Brown. Mocha Brown in general is a great colour! Very expensive though... Anyway, good luck to everyone who's entered the raffle!! I'm glad that there is no one I want in Mocha Brown this time

I was so happy to see the mocha brown option is back, but I’m not the biggest fan of the 70 attractive body...

 

it's probably been asked already, but is anyone familiar with bodies which resin matches for milktea rose?
Hoping to get an affordable alternative similar to the 65 attractive boy body or 2nd hand but still don't have access to the marketplace since i'm too shy for forum activity OTL

and also whether people have any comparison photos of 6, 7, 8, 9mm iris sizes for 14mm or 16mm eyes with heads such as Gyoha or Ajeong since the promo pictures never mention the eye sizes ;;

 

@Mizuzu - i found Switch is going to sell att65, hd70 & att70 in mocha brown skin at their showroom event
they probably will sell these model on web store every year.
you may ask Switch for detail in 1:1 care

@OneiricBlue - seldom heard on possible hybrid for milktea skin unless having a special resin order
Switch website mention suitable eyes sizes but no information for iris size
generally i will say larger iris can give a soft impression for your doll

 

Some Chinese companies offer resin matching services. I know that Popodoll and DF-H are very popular hybrid options for Switch heads. I’m also going to hybrid my Milktea Soseo with a 70 Popodoll body because Switch’s milktea resin batch may be a bit different this year from what it was in 2019 but Popodoll offer 2019 and 2020 milktea rose as different options. They probably have a reference for both at hand. If you’re looking for a resin match for Gyoha or Ajeong, you may need to provide the company with some kind of reference material for them to do the matching because I’m not sure if they have a 2021 resin references available yet. But obviously I haven’t tried matching older Switch milktea with a newer one nor have I tried a resin matching service from Popodoll yet. I’m not sure if it’ll turn out 100% accurate.
Here’s a photo of Damhyeon in Milktea Rose on a Popodoll 70 body, and I hope that the owner doesn’t mind me sharing it. It really helped me decide on my Soseo’s body. It looks like a pretty good match!

 

is DFH normal yellow body a good match for switch head powder beige?

 

Just got my Shiho in the mail a few days ago and gave him a face-up. Not as in love with him anymore sigh

Aww thank you for your kind words! I recently bought him a loongsoul body and the proportions look odd to me. The head is slightly bigger than the body.

I got the Loongsoul 62 cm body for him and it shipped early and is on the way. However, once the head arrived, I had another doll with the same body and tried the head on it. Didn't like it lol. I do not have the funds to buy another body for him so I may just get rid of the head. I wish I would have known sooner that the match would have not been perfect.

 

Aww sorry to hear that! I have seen Switch heads on the Loongsoul 73cm and that seems to be a good match. Switch boys seems to sell well, hope that you find a new home for him soon!

FaithZ posted a new image on Gyoha's page for an example of FaithZ makeup.

I'm a little confused, because I thought that was an artist limited faceup? I emailed them to ask them if they got the artist to do it or if they're going to make similar. I know what FaithZ makeup looks like typically, but this is a very specific style they chose as an example.

Here's what Switch told me:
"Regarding Gyoha Moebius, SWITCH informed us that they were not able to provide any official face-up quotas for us this time as their artist is occupied.
However, they agreed to allow our artist to paint SWITCH heads following their face-ups.

Hence after we have received the blank Gyoha Moebius heads from SWITCH, our artist will paint them like how it's shown in the official photo (the one labelled with FaithZ Make-up Option).
It will not be 100% identical but very close in style.
For your own reference you may refer to the attached photos for samples of FaithZ makeup of other SWITCH heads (also following official SWITCH makeups)."


That's so cool of them to be able to do. And it's cool I get to buy my grail with similar makeup to the one that made me fall in love with him. Man. I'm so happy

I have heard that milktea rose is a switch unique mix so it makes sense that there isn’t much around for hybrid options
Now it leaves me wondering whether I should’ve just got for NS/Powder Beige rip
I have noticed that older product photos had larger irises for the naive look while the recent ones seem to have shrunken down hmm

@Niel thanks so much for the photo reference! I’ll defs do some research into DF-H and Popodoll! Honestly new to this and it flew over my head that different resin batches have slightly different hues ;; maybe i’ll just have to wait and see if the actual resin colour looks nice and if not maybe look for a swap at this rate aaa

 

DF H can do resin match, for free for rosy white and powder beige. as for milktea rose etc.. there wll be addiitonal charge.

 

Just got a shipping notification for a 65 body I ordered just a month ago! Pleasant surprise as I was expecting a much longer wait :O

 

I'm not sure if anyone has done this comparison but last year I purchased a DZ doll in tan during their summer event and used the body for my 2019 Rusi head for some photos and felt like it's a good option for those looking for alternatives. Though I'm sure both companies tans will differ from batch to batch. I will also say the DZ body's skin tone is cooler than the Mocha Brown head.

The head does look kinda big for the body in my opinion, it is a 62cm body but it was easily hidden with some oversized sweatshirts.

 

i was wondering if anyone had a body or full doll shipped directly from Switch lately, if they charge shipping?
it's sort of difficult to tell, and somehow my searching DOA is not finding answers, maybe i'm not using the right keywords.

I bought the 70cm body from Switch last month and they didn't charge any extra shipping to the US if that's what you mean. Shipping at checkout was hefty though lol

 

Thank you! some makers are not charging freight on full dolls, so i wasn't sure about that part.

 

Does anyone know if Switch lets you request for changes in resin skintone for preorder heads?

And also if anyone has photo comparisons of the rosy white, powder beige and milktea rose side by side in different lighting? (ie warm bedroom, studio lights, natural outdoor)

Just really confused with what resin colour I’m actually looking for because after submitting my preorder for an Ajeong, I found out from user photos that milktea rose is a lot darker than I thought... (and sometimes it’s as light as rosy white with faceup) and likewise Rosy white sometimes isn’t as white as it seems but a soft pinkish skin??? I can’t tell what’s the “true” colour you’d see if you were to admire them on a daily basis (in ie naturally lit bedroom) :/

 

I took these pictures for the DF-H thread, but thought I'd share them here as well. I tried three of my Switch heads on a resin matched DF-H 65cm body. Switch Heads & DFH Body in Rosy White. The heads and body are both rosy white.

Milhwa and Huisa are a 99% match. Waseon is more beige than the body.

 

Very helpful! What are the release dates of your heads, if I may ask? I'm a big fan of the milk tea rose skin, it's cooler than Volks sunlight/tan, but the way the powder beige doesn't match Volks spot-on anymore is frustrating for someone who's painstakingly collected SD17 bodies in splits.

 

@InvisibleWings Waseon is from 2016 and Huisa and Milhwa are both from 2019. Waseon is not as pink as my Huisa and Milhwa, and never was. I ordered Waseon when Switch was changing from their old white to just rosy white, and was allowing people to buy one or the other, and I'm wondering if I got sent the old white by accident. That or rosy white has just gotten more pink over time. I recently ordered Ajeong Closer in rosy white so I'll have to wait and see what version of rosy white I get.

Is anyone waiting on a Seolrok Hiver from Faithz by chance?

I ordered him with the special faceup and he was set to release in May. I see a lot of people have already had theirs for a while. My friend ordered a different doll with makeup that was supposed to release in June and she already has him lol

It's only the middle of May and I don't want to bother them about it, but I'm curious if anyone else is still waiting ^_^

 

I'm waiting for a Soelrok Hiver with faceup from FaithZ as well.
