I need help. My first Switch head is on the way, but I don't have a body for it. The wonderful world of Google told me that you could make a hybrid with Taeheo head and AprilStory AS17 body. Now the question is if I buy a new body from AprilStory does it have same measurements as the older ones? AprilStory site says "Circumference of neck - 10.7cm" and Switch HD 65 info says "Circumference of neck - 10.5cm".

 

@Emma DD White I own Taeheo and have him on the AS 17 Boy body (which I bought last year). His head fits on the body perfectly.

Took some photos of Reed (Rusi) today.

 

My Doha head finally arrived. The face up is so nice. I can't wait to style him properly, for now he has random eyes, a Switch wig (though decent, is not fitting the character) and the Soave sweater. Not even pants for the poor man.

Would you remember if the difference was in darkness, and/or color (pinker/yellower/whiter)? Something that blushing may take care of...? :>

I recently ordered a Waseon head from FaithZ and was wondering which body you guys got for yours, especially after Switch's recent resin change? I'm more concerned over the proportions and am actually eyeing the April Story AS17 body since it's also on sale until the 30th. Plus, I've heard many say that this body fits their Switch heads quite well.

Any suggestions?

Waseon is my favorite Switch head T_T!

I have my Waseon head (2015) on a Switch Attractive body from 2017. The resin match isn't a big problem from what I see. In fact, the color difference is almost unnoticeable. From what I saw, the difference between the old and new resin is that new resin's just a little bit pinkier than before. But is not a big deal. I put side to side my boys and the resin color is quite compatible (Kanadoll Adrian in a Doll Factory body from 2016 and my Waseon in Switch Attractive body from 2017). And if there's a difference, with the sealant and faceup it will not. Unfortunately I don't own an April Story body ! but I recommend Doll Factory to hybrid your Waseon.

By the way, can't wait March to receive my Huisa direction! Did somebody ordered one as well?

Thank you so much! I actually have heard Doll Factory is a pretty decent match as well but I'm finding it hard to find a place where I can order from them? Their previous site linked in the wiki is no longer working and Dolkus only has full dolls available. Do you know where I can purchase it?

I didn't end up buying the April Story body since I plan on waiting a bit more for the right body. I can always save up for it when it's not on sale if I do go for it. But I thought it would be nice to have options and be 100% before purchasing.

I ordered one along with a Sohwa head (actually I got two heads, one blank from Switch and one with make-up from Faith-Z…couldn't resist )…too bad none of them will have bodies

 

Congratulations on your waseon! I hope that you love him! I find waseon to have a smaller head, so I think the proportions for 60cm bodies are best. 65cm seems a bit too large.
My guy is on a Dollzone B60-005, and I think the fit is very nice for both resin and proportions! I think that I got the version that is a little more pink;;;

 

@SugarCoatedStars May I ask where those eyes are from? Both the size and style are something I've been searching for! He looks awesome with them.

Hey everyone! I'm new in this new Switchies community, as a matter of fact, Ive just gotten my Rusi head on Feb 2nd. But since it's my first SD, I dont have a body prepared for him. I'm contemplating on which body should I get him since I'm a bit concerned on the resin match. I'm not a big fan of Volks or Luts because of the 2-part torso, and now I'm eyeing Doll Leaves, Doll Legend, and Doll Family H. Please share your recommendation ~

@RoaKyle What size body are you interested in? Also, Volks does have 3 part torso's for most of their bodies.

So I am looking at wigs and eyes for my boys. For those who have Waseon and Ryuzo, what sizes did you find to work the best?

 

I have Waseon and he works well with 16mm.

 

My waseon has 16mm eyes and an 8-9 size wig!

 

For my Rusi, he's using 16mm as well (18mm is too puppy eyes for him) and he has a 7"-8" wig on (temporary though). So, I'd totally recommend 8"-9" and not 9"-10" as what the others have suggested earlier.

 

My Waseon is using 13mm silicon eyes from eyeco and wear a 8-9" wig.

Have you seen the shoes coming this month on Switch site !? I am in love. I am weak when it comes to doll shoes x)

i recently snagged a full mocha brown switch milhwa from a local seller and i'm currently on a four month layaway with him! i'm super excited for my coming switch waseon to have a companion too and brainstorming my character idea for him. did anyone also get the mocha brown milhwa? i'd love to see some owner pictures of him here!

 

Awhhh mocha doll! I always like dolls in brown skin. They look so much yummier. XD. Maybe I should get one next. Congrats! And dont forget to upload the pic once he's here!

 

Oh btw, here's my first Switch which is also my Grail Doll. He's a Rusi. Got him from the Marketplace, and I loved every part of him! Though I wish to buy a body for him soon!
p.s. The body in this photo belongs to a friend, who is kind enough to lend me the body for SD-adaptation purpose.

 

My Ryan is finally ready. Bought the head from DOA marketplace. He is simply perfect and I'm in love.

About Waseon eye size, mine uses 13 mm Eyeco ones, like Sjota. I think it's a thing of taste. I personally prefer my dolls with smaller eyes.

@RoaKyle Congrats on your first doll! I remember I handled a Dolls Leave body in the past, and it gave me a good impression. It was sturdy and posing was great.

I saw it and I think I will order it! I really liked the facial features without the faceup. Don't get me wrong, the faceup on the promotional pictures is beautiful, but I get distracted by it.

@Hisomu No, not yet! I decided to combine my first order with another one placed a few weeks later so I will have to wait a little longer. My order from Switch isn't ready as well, probably because I ordered a body for the blank Huisa head. The face-up won't be done directly by Yian_uwu as that wasn't possible, but by a Faith-Z artist who will use that face-up as reference.

@KiwiNinamori I think I will, although I'm not 100% sure yet (mainly because I bought too many dolls recently )

@KiwiNinamori : I'm thinking of Doll Legend, but I'm still doing research on the resin match. Coz I can be quite fussy when it comes to body. Like, I want 3 part torso, but I dont want anything with very visible abs, yet I dont want their rib cage to be very obvious too. Care to suggest any?

@Hisomu : Ugh, I'm actually putting Doll Leaves under consideration too. The version II body. But I actually want a 65cm body. 70cm is too big though. Personally, I like Yido. He has that bitchy face. But dang, that might just be me, being bias over Switch sculpts.

 

I am not so fond of Yido. It's "déjà vu" if you see what I mean, a mix between Yiho and Doha probably ?
I wish Switch would make a new girl body with a torso joint and sell again the 60 body :<

@Hisomu and@pirouette I really like his pouty face it’s not very sensual or cute like a lot of their heads overall. I put in my order for one so I’m eager to see what I can do with him.

@RoaKyle I like Doll legend. Hmm, suggestions...maybe Dollstown or Dollzone they don’t have very obvious abs and I’ve seen them work for Switch heads.

And speaking of new dollies, I received my blank Huisa full doll today but…I never got a shipping notice from Switch. Has this ever happened to someone? I already checked my Spam box and there are no emails from Switch there.

Also, the address on the package was almost completely wrong. They basically wrote the final part of the street name on one line, then the address description and first part of the street name on the second line. Again, I checked the address I provided both of my profile and Paypal invoices and it's correct. I suppose the wrong address explains why I never got a delivery notification from UPS, as it happened with all my other EMS Premium shipments from Korea. Luckily enough I was at home and had enough money to pay the customs fees (which I usually do online before the delivery), but I must say I'm a bit disappointed…

 

@KiwiNinamori : Do u have any Switch head on Doll Legend body? And dang, thanks for the suggestion. DollsTown bodies are yummeh. But I have to say theyre not my type as both bodies are too big. I'm more into 60 - 65cm only. Thanks a lot! Uve been really helpful! Maybe I will consider ur suggestion if I cant find any others that fit my preference.

@pirouette : Sorry for what happened to u. Luckily the head arrived safely. I'm guessing it must be because of the language barrier. A lot of Koreans are unable to converse well in English, much like Japanese.

 

@RoaKyle I'm not sure it's a language barrier issue…the address in my profile was written correctly, they only had to copy as it was. And they did understand what to write on the customs declaration form. I have been buying online for 15+ years and most of my transactions were international, I did get my name slightly misspelled before (maybe once or twice), but this is the very first time my address is changed. Anyway, I have sent them an email. Maybe they'll be able to explain what happened.

 

@RoaKyle I don’t have a Doll legend body unfortunately. And your welcome. I hope you are able to find a boy soon. I personally like Peakswood 60cm boy body for my switch here. He looks so adorable on it. This is my boy Amaury (Switch Hwahui on Peakswood

 

I didn't get an email with tracking either, but I have a habit of checking their site and looking at their notice/news board and I saw the announcement there that they've shipped the new Huisa orders out, so I logged into my account and found my tracking number there. Sometimes emails do get lost in transit, and sometimes they don't end up in the spam/junk folder either, so it's best to simply just check your order status on whatever website you ordered from.

 

@pirouette : Hopefully they'll give a proper explanation on what actually happened so improvement can be made from their side. And as per Satyrsmoon clarified, it's better for them to send out emails to customers instead of having us to go and check their notice board everytime we want to confirm.

@KiwiNinamori : Funny, how BJD companies almost all the time are unable to appeal their products to me, but when I see owner's pics, dang, theyre awesome. Coz really, Amaury looks awesome with that body!

 

@RoaKyle thank you XD yeah there are some companies I don’t like the site photos of but they look gorgeous in person. Got to just ask around other owners for pictures.

@SugarCoatedStars your boy looks awesome! I love those glasses on him. Is that a dollzone body? it looks like a great match for him. I was thinking of using dollzone for my next hybrid.

@satyrsmoon I did check the board, but my order was still in processing stage after the shipping notice was posted. I figured it would take a little longer since I ordered a 60 cm body in addition to the head, but it was marked as on shipping only after I received it.
