Supia (MiniSup) Mini Discussion Part 1

May 25, 2006

    1. @angelia135, have a lovely weekend too! I was wondering, where can you find a taobao agent to help with buying on this site?

    2. Hi (@Tureluur), am not sure where you are residing at (country). I’m from Singapore and I typically use ezbuy (ezbuy Online Shopping Singapore - Fashion, Beauty, Toys, Home Furniture & More) to get Taobao loots. If you are from the US, you might want to check out this thread (/threads/taobao-agent.693347/ ) . The thread participants are deliberating on recommended forwarders and someone mentioned Taobaotrends (Taobao Agent, 1688 agent, cheapest taobao agent, cheapest shipping fee, best taobao agent ) . Hope it helps :)

    12. Finally I can join this thread, I have been admiring Supiadolls long time, especially Sujin, but ended up getting Hannah. I did get it couple months ago, but have been lazy transfering pics on computer, so now finally:
Still nameless, faceless and eyeless, but at least some clothes and wigs.

      Jordana She looks really sweet!
malvinas What a lovely looking girl, there's something sensual about her.

    14. angelia135 Thank you! I was supposed to sell that wig a long time ago, but never got to post sell notice anywhere and now that's a good thing.

    15. Hi all! I just put a tan Sujin on layaway and I have a question. I really want to sew for her but am terrible at going off of measurements. She’s going to be on the double jointed body. Would anyone be willing to make me a dress form using this tutorial with masking tape? Duct tape ruins my pins.

    16. Double post

    17. @DragonHawk, you will love Sujin! I cannot help you with your question but you can find exact measurements on Supiadolls' site.

    18. Well not anymore nameless, faceless and eyeless. I did the face-up and I think this experience what I have face-upping (quite minimal) the face-up is okay(ish). Also found some eye's that someway fit her, but I now have eye's ordered for her and waiting those to arrive. But here's Julia for now:

    20. When looking for clothes for my Supia minigirl (43 cm) I noticed that clothes for slim msd's do not fit her. She is my only msd size doll so I have no comparison but I always thought she was quite slim.

I need some help here for comparison, what sizes has a slim msd and which company makes these dolls? I thought maybe Fairyland but not sure and there must be more companies.

      Thanks for your help!

I was looking for clothes for my Supia minigirl (43 cm) and noticed clothes for slim msd's are too small. Where can I find clothes that will fit her?

    21. http://www.supiadollz.net/goods/images/20190307075102cont6.jpg is the image that supia posted for their measurements. I just compared it to JIDs, kid delfs, and minifees and it doesn't seem to fit any of those exactly. She is larger than a mini fee in some measurements and smaller in others. the same as delfs (which i find to be more of the chunker mainstream 1/4s) buying knits for now (like jersey knits) will allow it to stretch over parts that are too small but skrink to where it should be. This will allow you to see which descriptions best match your doll (fits minifees, fits delfs, and the like). a lot of things that are supposed to fit minifees can fit my delfs because i mostly buy knits

also, i realized I typed JID and not everyone knows the brand, that is iplehouse.
Luts (the kid delf) isn't considered slim, but some of your supia measurements are larger than luts.
The name "slim" really refers to the porportions than the skinniness of something. Luts is more childlike at 1/4 and minifee is considered more adult. I personally feel Jid is a mix between the two. It looks like Supia is a much more pronounced slim as its measurements exceed both.

There are a lot of brands in the 1/4, you can use the wiki on den of angels and almost every doll maker listed has a 1/4. sometimes their measurements are listed, sometimes they're not. Luts, Iplehouse and Fairyland are just the top three that I sew for and have found clothing listed as.

    22. It think Minifees are what most people think of when they hear slim MSD because they are so popular. But there are plenty of other makers. I have slim MSDs from Migidoll and Bimong. Any BJD that is approximately 41 to 44 cm, has teen to adult proportions, 5 to 5.5 cm feet, and has a more slender body type should fit slim clothing unless it say it's made specifically for one brand. You see that sometimes with handcrafted items, especially shoes.

    23. As has been mentioned, "slim" is sometimes used as a catch-all way of saying "mature/adult in proportion", but unfortunately mature minis can vary a lot in their body size.

Minifee are actually one of the most petite of "slim" minis so I would avoid clothes specifically tailored for them. And JID's, for example, have very mature, adult bodies but are much broader/thicker than most other mature minis (except for the new JID girl body, which is child-like).

The Supia minis look very close in measurements to the Luts Model Delf girls (not to be confused with KDF/Kid Delfs, they are very different) though. Luts makes some nice clothes for them, you might give those a try? They also mark which of their KDF clothes are compatible with the MDF bodies which might be useful.

Good luck in your clothing search! :)

    24. Thanks @mikeg and @Dolly, I am going to check out the Luts web site. Great tip!

    25. Hi everyone! I just ordered my very first doll, minisup Dorothy! I was 100% convinced I wanted a tiny, but Supia's sweet faces changed my mind!
I'm so excited, I already have a name for her and everything!!!! Now I'm just waiting for Supia to confirm my order so I can start shopping for her!

@Tureluur I found this cool thread, you probably already know about it, but I'm linking it just in case. Minisup Clothes and Shoes Reference GUIDE

    26. Thank you @Viridiansummer, I searched on DoA but never found this discussion (I searched for minigirl not minisup, how could I forget). So much info there.

How exciting, your first Supia doll. I agree totally, their faces are so special. Please share what you found while shopping for her and enjoy!

    27. I just realized I haven't shared any photos of my Hayul for a long time... Since my last update back in January, I've made her a sweater, a couple wigs, painted her face, and decided on her name. So, ta-dah! This is Morgan (Minisup Hayul head on Bimong body).

    28. How hard is it to remove their head and hands? Do you only get them clothes that don't require removal of the head?

    29. Hi hi, i’ve not tried removing hands but it’s pretty easy to remove the head :)

      Aside:
@Kittzel Hayul is so pretty. Love her eyes :love

    30. @Kittzel she's so cute. The color of the sweater suits her perfectly. :D

@Viridiansummer congrats on Dorothy! It's not too hard to remove the head (the hands are worse). I prefer to get clothes with neck openings. If their little fingers are snagging on sleeves, you can temporarily wrap a piece of tape around their hands.

    36. Hello, owners of these beautiful dolls! I hope I might reactivate this thread with a little question?

After sticking to the big Supia beauties for a while I now finally have a Minisup body on order. I want to start sewing but I noticed Supia only gives the bust size for the big busted Minisup double jointed body - and i'm getting small bust. Is there somebody here who has a little time on hand to measure their small bust girl? I'd be very grateful!^^
