@munakchild I'm not sure if it would be helpful or not, but I do have a Iina (in NS) that I could test different sized eyes with and post photos of if you still need them.

Ten years I more than understand. I wanted one since I was 19 and even started layaway in 2009 for one I wanted then my life fell apart, I broke up with my Fiance, moved home, took care of my sick mom, became homeless then got back on track 4 years ago. I am working on her crown and I have a lovely periwinkle silky fabric to make a dress out of.

 

Wow, @light_hearted that sounds beyond tough. I'm super happy you're OK now and that you can enjoy a small luxury. I really hope you can spoil her and create lots of fun things for your doll! and just be a little happy once in a while. You deserve it!! I hope you can share pictures soon!

Thanks jade-eyed-cat. I find myself taking more pics of my Supia couple than any of my other dolls, I think because they are so photogenic and so my bad picture taking skills aren' so noticeable, lol!!

 

I really need to re-shell my Roda which I got from Dollfair International when they were a reputable doll company, she was cast in pinky white French resin and she is unfortunately banana yellow now and I am just sadden to see her like this. She is from 2007 so 11yrs is a long time. Here is a throw back picture of her when she first arrived.

I know I am really late with this thought, but you might want to contact them and see if they have a set of heel feet laying around. Maybe they have imperfect ones??

 

My IH YID Lucian needs a girlfriend. But I haven't been able to find an IH girl sculpt that I liked or that would fit as his girlfriend. But every single one of the Supia girls have something I like. I really love the tanned Hamin! But I can't seem to find the head measurements. Do anybody know what the measurements are?

 

@manabusama I measure 19.5 cm or 7 3/4" around Hamin's head. Also, she is on the double jointed body (second generation??) and is about 58 cm tall.

And a picture of my Hamin, I put her in a fluffier wig which looks better on her. She kind of has a back leaning, larger forehead, and a puffy wig looks good on her IMO

 

That's quite a bit smaller than the IH SD head measurements. And I find my IH Lucian's head to be smaller than what I'm used to. But your Hamin is so cute I love the tanned Hamin elf version. And Eunice is gorgeous! I've never been interested elf BJDs, but I think that have changed now. Are all Supia doll head sizes this small? I wonder how a Supia doll will look next to my IH SDs?! I also really love the Supia boy Giyom. I thought maybe I should make him my upcomming IH Rania boy's brother. Make them the fashion model brothers But I worry now the small Supia heads will look weird next to an IH SD.

Naomi is 20.5 or a bit over 8 inches. I think the head sizes are pretty consistent. My feeling is she will be fine with a SD Iplehouse doll.

 

That's good to hear! It will be some time before I get the chance to order any of these girls. But Hamin and Muriel are my favouriites. Either of these two would be cute as my Lucian's girlfriend.

I'm an Emil Andersson fan. I'm a bit inspired by pictures like these. I think Naomi would have looked great next to my IH Rania boy. I feel like creating a group of male and female fashion models.

 

I think it's more about the face size than head, but also, humans have an amazing array of head sizes. I keep posting this picture when the subject comes up because I think it's pretty amazing when you look at the head sizes

 

Hello everyone! Long, long ago I promised spam of my Ji-in. Here she is with her boyfriend.



I have her on a Magical Angel body, but I'm not entirely happy with it; although the resin match and fit is pretty perfect, it needs a bit of work. I just adore her spacey expression and little teeth.

@Girrl Thank you~! To be honest her bangs aren’t my favourite as they are a different fibre from the rest and don’t have the same texture/shine. But curls/waves are a weakness of mine. I was happy to have an excuse to make a wavy wig and I’m glad you like it.

I just found this adorable Supia Lina boy. Juxe. girly hat. There aren't many Supia boys compared to the girls. But it would help a lot if girl head sculpts also fit the boy body. I see that they sell heads separate. Does the girl heads fit the boy body?

No, Supia says the girl heads do not fit the boy body. It may be a hybrid.

 

Ah ok. I didn't notice that, but that's what I thought! Usually girl heads do not fit boy bodies.

 

@manabusama , I know you mentioned you liked Iplehouse, and of course Supia, and you want a boy, so I'm just throwing this out to you, because I like the same dolls as well, and you might like some of the dolls I've found and liked. There is a Chinese company that makes some huge (if that's not bad) guys and they're relatively inexpensive. I don't like all their sculpts but do like quite a few. It's impldoll and here is a link to their thread. They may be too big for you, but might be worth a look for you?

 

Thanks I already know about this company. I order from Alice's collections now and then. So far only clothes, shoes, wigs and eyes. I also use to look through the dolls they sell through their company now and then to search for sculpts that would fit in with my Iple crew and future Supia dolls. Star Alma is really beautiful! With the B type face-up she fits perfectly as the IH YID Lucian's sister. Aurora is also pretty cool. I have had this company in mind many times before. I'm currently very interested in creating a crew/ family of dolls for my YID Lucian and JID Joshua. They are both the reason I'm all over the place searching for sculpts, and the reason I ended up here I've also had Soul Doll in mind!

When it comes to choosing which Supia girl to get I'm now stuck between Heeji and Hamin. Heeji have an amazing face, beautiful lips and her droopy elf ears are too adorable

 

I know, it's impossible to choose :P

 

Yes it is incredible hard to choose! I do have some time to make my choice though. First before I can order any of the girls it is important that my IH Rania boy get a hybrid body.

 

Can anyone comment on the waiting times from supia? I left a massage 8 days ago and still no answer, I wonder if it takes 8 days to answer a massage, how long will it take her to ship a doll? is this a common wait time on her board?

 

According to the "wait list" in Supias waiting room it looks like 3-4 months.

 

Yup, sometimes theres a bit of waiting for responses on the q&a board but she gets to you eventually, not like months or anything lol. And yea Supia wait time always seems to be 3-4 months, maybe an extra month if purchased during an event.

I am letting Yoon Hee temporarily be an elf! I am changing her outfit every month to keep her look fresh.

I'm done ordering my two model boys, which means next up on my list is to get a Supia girl But I still have big problems choosing which sculpt to go for! They are all so amazing

I've also started to look at some Impldoll girls. I really like Daphne. Daphne, 64cm Impldoll Girl - BJD Dolls, Accessories - Alice's Collections

She reminds me of a humanoid being. I think I could definitely create a cool character out of her. I'd really love to order Daphne as a humanoid friend of whichever Supia girl sculpt I'll choose.

 

@manabusama the Impldoll girls are a good fit with the new 65cm Supia body, so I think that could work well. They're about the same size, though the Supia body is a made a little better, Impldolls are pretty amazing for the price. Just my 2 cents

 

@IngieBee I don't mind that the Impl bodies are not as well made as the Supia bodies. There were a time where mobility in a BJD were most important to me. If I like a doll I don't mind anymore if it does not have the best mobility. I guess most BJDs today at least have double jointed arms, but even if a doll is completely single jointed I'm ok with it. Like the old school Luts Delf bodies. It's part of their old school charm.

Right now Noa is fighting alongside with Hamin for my attention. Both are screaming "CHOOSE ME!".

But I think Hamin is winning! I need a smiling girl. I don't want every single one of my dolls in my IH, Supia, Impl, Souldoll family to look so serious. There are so many sculpts that hardly smiles or don't smile at all. I want many types of facial expressions. That's why I'm also thinking about maybe geyting a Ring Doll weeping Mona

 

OK, I want you to know about a couple of Hamin's "faults" just so you don't become disappointed with her. Because she is absolutely adorable, and I still love her, and her faults aren't totally noticeable. BUT, her chin doesn't stick out much and her forehead slopes back a bit. a proper wig will make the forehead good and except for the profile, the chin isn't too noticeable. Still, I'd hate to see anyone disappointed with Hamin, so I'm going to attach a picture here so you can see yourself

My Rosy doesn't have the chin thing, but Eunice does. And this is kind of a tough spot for BJDs anyway Her range of motion is very good however.

RE the forehead, I just didn't like some of the wigs I tried out, but that's not unusual with dolls anyway, and she is still IMO, one of the sweetest faces I've ever seen! A huge open mouth smile done right, IMO and I adore her.

Thanks for the information I don't mind some of her faults. I think her face is perfect as it is. I always try to choose dolls that do not look too similar to the ones I own. When it comes to my IH, and future Supia, Soul Doll and Impl Doll family I rather there be some diversity.

You don't happen to know if Supia Doll offers custom face-ups?

 

Yah, I know, those pictures made me fall in love with Hanna as well And I still love her, she's awesome. Hope my "review" wasn't too critical sounding! The forehead surprised me, especially because most dolls have such huge foreheads, but again, she looks great in the end I'm completely used to her head now though

 

I think it'll be alright I was once only used to dolls with huge heads like DOI Luke and Delf Soony. Then I went a little bit smaller with my 3 MNM boys. And even smaller with my YID Lucian. I used to be worried about head sizes being either too big or to small in comparison to eachother in my BJD families. But then I think it was you who posted a picture of all these women standing in a line. And I realized that even in real life the head sizes varies quite a bit.

I am positive that Hamin will look adorable together with my other dolls. Haha I even saw a picture where she looks quite derpy!

I'm going for a tanned Hamin because I don't want all my dolls in the current BJD family I'm creating to be normal skin. My YID Lucian is normal skin. My upcoming SID Rania boy is normal glow, and my other upcoming (T) girl DZ Devon is in pink skin.

 

Being in this hobby for so long I know that doll plans and wish lists don't always go as planned. I know that there will be possible to order that new IH JID girl body in the furure. I found out about the new body not so long ago, but I can't help but wanting to order it first Once I got the idea of making it into a tween character, that was it! I'm going for a Kassia in peach gold skin.

I'm usually very patient with planning and waiting to order my dolls when I know it is a non-limited doll. But you never know what happens in this hobby so it's not always that easy.

I did not plan for this to happen but unfortunately I'll have to wait with ordering Hamin for a little while longer than I had planned.

You know when you find a doll and you immediately bond with it even though you only seen pictures of it?! That happened with the JID Kassia on the new girl body. Picked out a name for her and everything. She'll be my YID Lucian's sister and I'll name her Ronja. A little bit bummed I have to wait with Hamin, but it can't be helped...
