I'm glad he's offered through BJDivas. Much more tempting and much more feasible hehe.

 

I'm in a split order, BJDivas assists with those. :3

 

I'll get the body, maybe an extra pair of hands on top. A friend of mine is interested in the head. If we dont find people for everything BJDivas is trying to fit in other people. :3
Yeah, he has especially broad shoulders. For the head he's mostly 5-7mm off of the normal neck circumference. Should be able to make that fit. He either gets a Ringdoll or Loongsoul doll head. With some nice coloring in the Face up the skin tones shouldnt be much of a problem. Right now I am just planning a normal nice black suit for him. It should look nice with those shoulders. I have the bonus of my grandma being a seamstress, and helping me. Don't have to worry about finding fitting outfits. ^^ I'll see where he goes, I prefer to make that up when I have the doll here and a feeling for him.

 

OMG, if I could just get the Horus head to fit another body I'd be all over it. It's beyond gorgeous! Only...I don't like the sort of derpy human head, which doesn't really seem to fit, to me, at least. Want, but just can't justify. I hope someone gets him...I would so love to admire!!

 

The human head isn't my taste either. I think it's the lips, at least for me :/

I'm also in a split right now, grabbing the human head (I agree he's a bit strange, but I really like the way the artist painted him). I love the idea, but I can't handle bjd over 65cm so I'm hoping to find a shorter body that will be a good match for him. Impldoll or Granado maybe? I know he's supposed to match Soom, but idk how hard it'll be to find a dark brown shorter Soom body at a decent price.

 

As far as I know from checking iplehouse has 12 cm too. :3

 

that was my feeling as well, like i'd be hating myself for passing him up when i can't stop looking at the photos.
plus a lot of my doll "story" is about gods, demi-gods & similar so Horus is a shoo in. i can't wait to see him in person, and i know i'm going to need help with posing since i'm pretty new at all this, and his engineering is really complex.

Big congrats @PennyForTheGuy! I envy you the Horus head so much - and that body looks like it has enormous potential. He's going to be amazing!! I hope you'll post a few pics when he finally arrives.

Edit: Oh, totally missed that you got him, too, @Grimalkin! Congrats! The more of these guys the better. I can't wait to see what everyone does with him!

i wound up with the dark brown, as i slid into the pre-order at the very last moment, but i'm glad for it now, after seeing the finished one. the pearl is pretty amazing too though...

true true, and i'm not sure another one will come along quite like this for me... i know some of the Soom & Volks go for a lot too, but those haven't grabbed and shook me like Horus. i did some serious justifying for a few others in close territory, but this one is an epic conversation with myself.

i do think it must be tough to be an independent artist as all the overhead is her own expense, and with such an immense project it's really something. i am glad some of the accessory offerings are being split up, to take a little moment to regroup in between i'm sure i'm on the hook for the closed mouth eagle head when it's ready for instance.

 

From their instagram, it looks like BJDivas is willing to host splits for him.

 

Kinda wish I would have waited to order w/BJDivas... Splits would have been awesome. But hey, I might be okay with keeping everything when I see it irl.

 

I'd love if she finished the series-- Horus, Set, and Anubis. That would be fantastic! And Sephiroth would be really cool as well. I have a hard time picturing him in doll form, so I'm excited to see how she'd do it.

For Horus, I'm most excited to see all different faceups. I think his face has so much potential. Big lips like Soom Dia, Volks Lorina, and Soom Saiph are my favorites, so I'm pro-big lips. Or duck-face as I think they call it hahaha. Also to see the skin colors. Like pearly brown. It seems like Dollshe Copper Oriental or Soom Tawny ish perhaps? But I'm so curious about the 'sparkle.'

 

the artist told me the doll in the recent promo pictures that is dressed and has the face up is in the dark brown colour

i really can't tell how light the pearl is going to be, but the sparkle is really cool.
i sort of slid into the last spot of pre-order period, so my choice was only for the dark brown, but i'm glad now, as he is really gorgeous. it will be my first of that colour, my only other tans are lighter like DZ tan and Soom tawny.

the one she's been photographing with the face up i'm pretty certain is the dark brown, it's mentioned pretty far back in the photos on IG here.
i'm pretty sure the pearl brown is the center hand in this shot: link though at first i thought that was "tawny", that colour isn't offered this time.

that is a scary nightmare indeed! i hope you are somewhat reassured since it looks like you can still place orders on both dealer's sites i feel really invested as well, i think this is the craziest thing i've done so far, but i know i would have really regretted it if i had passed him up. my nightmares center around shipping as it's a huge heavy box.

 

Pearl brown does look really pretty, no matter which color it ends up being.
It's kind of scary, shipping big boxes internationally in the era of Covid. Especially one with as many extras as Horus has. I wonder how soon we'll start seeing Horus out and about.

We were told that the scheduled shipping will be april to may, as the factory will stop working due to Chinese New Year in Feb.

 

she just wrote me back today as well, the promo pictures used at Moonlight BJD & BJDivas - is the dark brown.
and the pearl brown, is the hand in the center, where she has 5 in the photo: from Left to Right: white, normal, pearl brown, dark brown, then grey. i hope that helps

hello eveyone i also have Horus on very long layaway with BJDivas... i asked the artist the color of the doll in their picture and they told me dark brown so that was the color i went with. it seems a lot of us went with him in that color but he is super beautiful. and i cant wait to see what we all do with him. the only thing i kinda didnt like was the bird head TBH. i didnt get any extra hands but i did get some extra feet and the heart jar.

 

Honestly, i would ask since it is a big big big box. EMS was quite a bit. i wonder if it varies with the supplier/artist.
i am very excited though. istg if he is due in on a day i would normally go in person to work, well, maybe i have a migraine.
no way i'm letting a porch pirate get him.

i am really curious to see about the posing instructions, i'm pretty new to all this, and not particularly an expert at regular ones even, so i want to be super careful with him. i need to have a sueding party as hardly anyone can stand on their own right now

Congrats! I'm really interested in his engineering, since the artist kept saying he's not like other BJDs. From the outside the body doesn't LOOK that different, joints-wise...

i am waiting for the translated manual before i explore too much, since i'm not very experienced with the complex joint types.
but the hips in particular are pretty different from my other models.

^^^ I decided to not get Garrett this time. it was a tough decision, as I really love his tongues and horns, but i don't have a lot of bodies this size either, and i know Set is coming... and i *really* want Set.... so maybe i'll find him later on second hand

I realized that there are not many tags for SOSD, and the artist herself only just recently used "story7days" in one post. Has anyone else seen owner photos on IG or similar?
i was using "story_of_seventh_day" like her IG handle and adding Horus on the end, and "sosdHorus"

For my Horus, I am starting to try wigs and eyes, and drawing ideas for the eagle head. I'm so slow to style anyone, don't hold your breath for a finished look here is some spam of my Horus, with a few accessories ... Golden God ...

-waves- i was thinking about that first advance booking from Dec. 2019, mine is from that series and those were shipped out around March 2021 and i believe all had to be completed orders by then. but i'm not sure how many got ordered/made.

maybe people are waiting for special faceup artists or taking their time like me. or on social media i can't/don't access...
the second ordering period was this past Dec. 2020 and I don't think they've shipped any yet from that, still in production.
i'm literally starting to save for Set already. can't miss him. i wonder if the body will be different for him, seems like maybe...

i need to make some foam cut outs for safe keeping his parts... ===> off to research non-reactive foams

 

yes! it got me all stirred up again... i love that last page of the "new character loading" instagram post ---what is he anyway! --- in the drawing the proportions look very similar to Horus.
but some of her notes in the past about her character, it seemed like the idea was that Set was much more warlike and built, Horus is the svelte one. i can't imagine doing a whole new body either! but she is amazing so it could just happen like that
maybe Set will get the "package" options that Sephiroth looks like he's getting

i like having options for when clothing is tight, or the "briefs" if you're doing a comparison shot and don't want to censor. i'm so amused by some of the fanciful bits out there too (i'm looking at you dfa) i love all the various talk in other channels, one of my favourites is the fridge solution for how not to lose the magnetic ones.
i'm really excited to see what Sephiroth turns out like as well, and how the mechanics will work out for the uni-wing.

 

I"m just glad to have found this thread. I love the whole look of Horus. Love looking at him. The artist pictures were amazing the set as she protrayed him. Seth looks fierce.

 

I got one. But he's on a super long layaway. Won't be here for a while. I didn't know anything about this beautiful doll so I was happy to see XXXXX (sorry It was pennyforaguy who did this thread, Thank you.) and thank you Grimalkin for sharing with us his gorgeous doll. So now we know there's three of us. Yay. But I think mine is, will be, last in coming since it was a recent purchase. But I would like to know more so I can prepare myself for when he is here.

Seth looks to be coming out amazing, and I would love to own one head, but I can't swing him this round. Still got Horus and other commitments to pay off.
