@brighteyes22 I'm going to buy at least one other head (Gana, likely, I love her tricksy smile) but Seung-A is such a gentle face! She reminds me of a friend who passed away...that's why I want to get her.

I mean, I like Gana too but if you can only buy one then Seung A, then we would have both the same beautiful girl^^, and maybe you can order later Gana before the end of the month^^

Heyo does anyone know if the discounted dolls qualify for the 6 month layaway? I know that the head only orders don't but do the full doll orders for September? Thanks for any help!

 

I don't know about ordering through Souldoll directly but you can always get a layaway through their dealer, BJDivas, for anything.

 

I believe full dolls are 6 months, yes!
Heads are 3 months. That said, as sno4wy mentioned, if you need a longer layaway BJDdivas is always an option!

 

So I did it!, I ordered my girls!!, Even knowing it will take them forever to arrive I am so excited!! *____*

 

So, Canadian collectors ought to know that Dollmix also does a 12 month layaway and they work with Soul Doll. (I'm still going with BJDivas but wevs, Seung-A soon!)

 

I just ordered a Gana head through Alice's Collections! I have what is probably a silly question, but just in case: I've been thinking about using this head for a male character. If I order the male Souldoll body somewhere down the line, the Gana head would fit on it, right?

 

I asked souldoll the same kind of question (only for yeon-bee) and they noted I could buy the boy body for it. So I would think it would fit. Also have seen some fem sculpts on male body's in this thread

Total different question. Does anybody knows if souldoll marks down their packages if you buy a doll from them? Just wondering because not sure how long I still can order from the eu dealer angelesque without being slapped with customs (the whole UK stepping out of eu looks like going to be the hard way where in the future eu people will have to pay customs for ordering English products).

 

I don't know about buying from Souldoll directly, but I have purchased my Soulkid Juno through BJD Dreams, they are based in Italy. Up till now the experience has been very good, I'm expecting my doll to arrive in 3 weeks (I got an info that Souldoll is shipping her this Friday, finally!)

 

I ordered my Mewo girl straight from the Souldoll website. So far it’s been pretty great, although I did have some problems on my order (I accidentally ordered two chest parts, the wrong size cushion, and a ton of eyes because it rang up as $4, but they are really $15). Souldoll contacted right away and have been incredibly helpful in sorting it out.

I’m really happy with how easy it’s been.
I had worried that communication would be hard and customs expensive, but it’s been great. Right now there’s free shipping for orders over a certain amount (I think $400, but not sure).
I think the doll shops help, and it saves a lot of frustration sometimes, and can be worth the markup for all the work they do.
But I wanted to share my Souldoll experience so far.

 

I just had a look at the shipping slip for my Juno elf order - they marked the value at $40.

 

@Sagelith Ow yeah almost forgot about bjd Dreams! I thought they closed since their site doesn't seem to work.

@LondonCherie yeah souldoll is very polite. I always order eyes and lace thru them, sometimes they mix things up but they always send the right product after that if they did (and don't ask the old stuff back)

As for me, my Joelle head is back home and looking amazing on his Luts MDF body. Even with the cruddy wig he’s making me all.. I’ll need to see about getting his proper hair commissioned soon.

 

@Singull A Souldoll/mdf hybrid is something I've been curious about and he looks really good! Would you be willing to show more of how the head and body look together?

I mostly want to see if the level of realism in a Souldoll sculpt is matched by the level of realism in the body. I can be kind of picky about matching aesthetics

 

Seconding this! I'm also considering a Souldoll/MDF hybrid and would love to see some references.

EDIT: Also, just wanted to mention mobility stuff. He can look down really well, but tilting his head side to side is pretty stiff. Definitely cannot look up at all.

But man...does he look perfect on it.

If I could have managed getting Joelle on there, I would have, but I'll need to save money for some bodies. ^^;
Hopefully the wait won't be too bad but if it does end up being 6 months, at least I'd kinda-sorta get it around my birthday...kind of? About a month or two 'late' lol

I'm not sure what kind of bodies I'll get, though. I was thinking maybe the version 2 myou body for Clodia, and maybe a dollzone body for the rest? I'm not sure yet -- I suppose only time will tell, but I do like having different bodies for my dolls. When/if I get more information, I'll be sure to post some hybrid pictures here for reference, though!

For now I wait with baited breath and my mind is brewing all sorts of different thoughts for them, for their characters and designs. It's really nice to be able to plan for this, even though I am sure I'll hate the wait time, lol.

I ordered three girls too, Seung a, Fafner and Bonnie, and I could not decide at the moment i did the order if I should get Flett too, so I think I will be ordering her head and will add it to the other order, since I am sure I will regret not getting her >__<

I hope you can order Joelle too *cross fingers*, I wish they have discontinued the molds a little bit later, since all the dolls that were on my wish list are being discontinued or are limiteds so i have to buy all of them at the same time ....

 

So I was randomly checking the Souldoll site today... If anyone was hoping Aehael would be re-released, she will be soon! As a faun type this time.
I really really hope they'll offer both heads for one body, like they did for Juno.
Edit: Looks like they posted about it in the news section while I wasn't looking. Next week apparently?
Edit: On closer inspection she is apparently a sheep.

 

Go figure they plan to release Aehael after I already buy her head secondhand, LOL. I should have my Aehael human head in the next few days, though!
I assume the new human aehael is slightly altered, that's what they did with the spider junia release, though I'm not sure what the differences are with the human head.

 

@Epona - I know exactly how you feel! I finally got hold of an Aehael head a month ago, after ages of wanting her. And then boom! Re-released!
But I'm still very tempted by the dreamy-eyed fantasy head.

 

Congratulations @Epona and @eland for Aehael, even if she is from second hand, she truly is very very beautiful. To be honest I'm very tempted by the dreamy-eyed fantasy head too, she is so beautiful!! , but I have ordered a few discontinued heads and now she will have to wait! XDD

Do you have photos of Aehael closed to other sculpts, specially the old ones? I would love to see!

 

@brighteyes22 The timing is a bit frustrating isn't it? So soon after the discontinuation...
I think the only older head I have is Bonnie. But I'm happy to take a picture of them together! I haven't checked yet, but I'm pretty sure Aehael is smaller, like a lot of the new ones. I'll post a picture tomorrow!

Pretty surprised they are releasing two new dolls so fast (even tho aehael was released once before). Would have thought they would have hands full with all the orders that came with the discontinuation.
All tho maybe they use it as a sign to let people know they are still working on new projects.

Must say the outfits of the new girls are just adorable! Wish I could buy them seperatly.

Edit: and yes I also wouldn't mind them producing a few bigger heads again. I'm now working on the face up of my Junia and it's like working on a yosd, and let me say my hands aren't steady enough for that xD

Junia has much smaller head as far as I know, right?, maybe you know about her head size?, you have a lot of souldoll girls so I think you may know I am in love with Junia but due to her head size I am going to pass on her...it is sad because she is so precious!

Yes, I have a Spider Junia head. I have a Souldoll obsession! I will try to get a couple of photos of Junia with the others soon.

 

So not only did I post in the wrong thread, now I double post.

I just was so excited to see that there is now a small bust option for the new kid double body.
Also noticed that you can combine the NL upper body with the double body legs for this order, which was surprising to me. I guess it's good to know that works!

Does anyone have, or can you point me to comparison photos of the different soulkid female bodies? I'm planning to order Clodia and Gana before they are discontinued (though Gana will be the new head for my souloid) but I can't decide between the new body and the NL body, especially since I'm likely to use Gana's body for a hybrid with a LUTS or minifee head.

My only soulkid to date is Mewo and she is on the old body that was recently discontinued, so comparisons of either current body with that body would be really useful.

(Mewo was originally going to be the new head for my souloid but I made the "mistake" of using her for my model in the anniversary contests and she developed so much of her own personality that she needs to stay as herself).

And now that the contest is over and I can post her publicly, here she is in her sock outfit
