Does anyone have photos of Dia Ragnorak, especially with a romantic head? unpainted would be a bonus. thanks a bunch.

 

She's cute, but I'm safe. If I had free money I might think about it, but Soom really saved some effort on this one xD

 

Soom's been saving me money ever since they cut their girls down from 65cm to 58cm, tbh. Snow White has a cute face, but her neck feels way too thick for her head, for my taste, and that's the first thing I see in every picture of her (big thick linebacker neck, and then super, super dainty face)

Okay... It's not just me, then, who looked at that doll and wondered what the heck was going on with that tiny little face and OMGNECK.

Absolutely 122% *not* a doll for my crew, that's for sure.

 

Annnnd the shoes are borrowed from the Migma Alice release.
I am so over recycled dolls and parts.

 

Her head looks too small for that body, just off to me, or I am definitely needing some glasses....

 

@derilan85 - I agree. it perches on the neck. all I can see is the long neck. I don't want to diss anyone who likes her, though. other eyes have different visions.
I had no idea the new girls were so short. and the guys are taller. I only have one Soom SG girl which is a FChoice and I love her so much. No plans on another. I keep buying boys!

I just have my FCE Quartz in NS and he is the only male Soom SG I have left in my collection. Will NEVER let him go!

 

Acording to Soom's measurement charts, the old and new SuperGem girls are 59cm. I must get some girls out and measure them! There is a big difference in the neck between the old and 2012 bodies.

 

Im surprised because the release feels barebones (no clothes, and just generally cant pick up any ~enthusiasm~) and Im wondering if maybe the Korean side is vocal about wanting her rereleased, because I hear (and wish) for Saiph to be rereleased in either Idealian or Gem size (and going by the MP ads and people talking online, it seems there a fair number of people wanting Saiph again).

I havent read much excitement about her online, but I do like her face, just not enough to make the check out. I think she would look amazing in a natural makeup, short wispy hair and dark eyes, like the girl next door type of look. I wonder how the sale will go, or if she's going to meet Idealian Isabel's fate..

 

I must admit I don't understand the tavern wench outfit and the revolver.

 

@petiteballerine only thing I can come up with is that she must be a time traveler. I like to imagine that she got a variety of weapons from the future, and came back a little too late and the only answer is to avenge her poor old grandmother, Michael Bay style

 

Like a lot of you, I like her face...her sculpt is very pretty. But....that really is the only thing going for her. Her head shape IS REALLY awkward looking on that neck...outfit and look...uninspired this time. I hope if someone does get her, they post irl pics! Could be better than the promos make it seem.

 

New 2020, just arrived, blue Soom Sard. The color of him is actually a very vivid turquoise. This picture is very far from the actual color.

marci12, thank you so much! As I get over the shock of the color, I am starting to enjoy him. The troll is the best. Everyone needs one.

 

Oh Cat, he is beautiful! I hate that cameras mess with colors like that but they do. I love turquoise blue! I can't wait to see what you do with him.

 

SteamWitch, *hugs*. Thank you so much! His color is actually eye-poppingly vivid. It is something that harks back to the psychedelic days of the 60's.

And his hair flip flops between blue and purple.

The horns are the one thing that are stable and spectacular. Clear, perfect, frosty.

 

@Cat ^..^ sounds incredible!! It feels like you got him rather fast, but these days the days fly so fast.

 

SteamWitch, he was ordered November 5, 2019. So, I guess that is within what used to be their 100 day guarantee. (I do not know if they still adhere to that.)

Luckyl is going to paint him for me. So, I am excited about that.

Fun fact: The measurements on the new Soom website are incorrect! The old website has the correct measurements... old SuperGem girls were, in fact, 65cm and the new ones are 59cm (a quick Google search for photo comparisons of the different SuperGem girl bodies confirms the height difference).

Also, I find it interesting that Snow White is a rereleased doll but was originally on the newer Super Gem body and in her original release she still had that chonk-neck issue going on yet they didn't rescale it for the rerelease.

 

I'm not really impressed with the bare bones release either. She's not my type of girl but still, it would be nice that whoever wants her could buy her with everything they like about her.

Hi everyone! I have a question: Does Soom offer replacement parts for dolls that were bought second-hand as long as a CoA is provided? I'll be getting a Super Gem boy with a broken finger and I'm wondering if I can get replacement hands that match the doll if I send the broken hand. He's in brown tan.

I think you would have to buy the hands. At least I have had to buy needed parts for second hand dolls. The problem may be tge borwn tan. But you will have to ask Soom on the Q&A board.

Oh yeah, I figured I'd have to buy the hands! I was also asking to see if anyone had a similar experience. Wasn't sure if the special colors were more likely to be denied

I also wonder if anyone knows of any alternative hands I can use? Preferably a company that does color matching. Just in case Soom says no.

Does anyone have both sizes of Soom jointed hands? I have the SG (M not F) hands, and I need a larger pair. I was hoping to just get the ID hands, but if they're way bigger they might not work so I'd love to see them side by side if there are pictures anywhere.

 

Hi all! I have another question! I'm getting a Chalco from the original release and I was wondering if anyone had any etsy or taobao (or even Instagram sellers) shop recommendations for casual clothes? I have some SD13 tops at home. Will he be able to fit those at least until he gets some better fitting clothes? I've been told the SGMs wear SD17 clothes.

ETA: What's the best size elastic to get for these guys? I wanted to buy elastic from Dollmore but am unsure if he needs 4 or 5mm.

 

Soom lists 4mm for Supergem. If you check elastic cord on the gem site, there is a chart of sizes.

He's wonderful. I can say firsthand how beautiful the pale violet is. And that outfit is great. I hope it's sold separately. My Chalco pale violet wants! (and probably Dia Ragnorak who isn't home yet)
It's a shame they don't include more beast feet in sets. They don't have to be full-on lower legs, but long toes, hairy or hooved. A fun alternative to regular feet in shoes.

 

I love the ears on that one... I just... can't get past the thing growing out of his forehead.
It just reminds me way too much like those jungle fungi that infect insects. *shudders*

 

That's what it reminds me of! I knew there was something slightly disturbing about it, but I couldn't figure out what. Thanks for solving that mystery for me.

 

I really like that horned head! I almost want to say theres actually previous sculpts with that same horn but I cannot remember what their names were. Its a shame he's outside my price range right now T_T He'd be a nice addition.

 

Isha is the one who got away for me and I have been waiting for Soom to re-release him again. I am EXTREMELY disappointed and upset that I don't get the fantasy lower half, which was the entire reason I wanted him. Most of us didn't like his head when he came out, that release was a mess.

Damn I'm like... really upset. Wallet is happy, but ugh all that hype for absolutely nothing

 

Hopefully he's released again in that pale violet with hooves in the future. I would dive for that possibly. Hopefully who ever gets him in pale violet will share pictures its such a pretty color and unusual for the horned head. it looks good.

 

The fantasy Isha reminds me of Lord of the Rings final chapter where the trees fight. It would make sense if it was a Unicorn but that thing sticking out his forehead looks strange. On a second thought, Isha is a based on a tree if I'm correct. The normal head version looks cute but I don't have funds. I must not dwell into my credit card.

 

Unicorn is actually a very close to him. I believe and want to say he's actually more based off the Asian unicorn, the kirin or kylin. Its pretty big in the Asian folklore and legends. They have a horn like what he has which is why I kind of want him with his hooves T_T I could make my Kirin character with him.

 

Question for the thread: Do male Super Gem heads fit on Luts Senior Delf 65 bodies? I'm still in search of a white/cream white body for my one floating Soom head.

 

I can check, male or female body? Also is the head a newer Super Gem or an older one?

 

@Arekushia A male Luts body. The head is a cream white Quartz head from 2012 I think, so an older Super Gem male head. I know the neck girths are the same or are one millimeter off, I just want to make sure it will sit right if I decide to go with a Luts body. My poor head has no body and I want to get him one.

This is probably a dumb question, but I've been out of the hobby for a good long while and now I've forgotten everything...how do I get a Soom Dia?! hahahaha I was checking the Soom website and they look to be all out of stock. Do they still do limited releases? Or do you have to shop secondhand? Thanks all!~

 

Second hand is best bet but still rare. Another Dia was released in October last year and closed again so it may be a while until one comes available.

 

So there is a new doll - Elf Saiph - and I do love the look of her but I haven't bought any Soom dolls in Baby Pink. I think one of my faery dolls is a normal skin tone but all my big dolls are cream white. Have they released any other dolls in Baby Pink? How pink is it?

 

It is a very pale pink.

@nancy_schroeder_ca and @Arekushia Thank you for your responses! I think if I do go for her, I will do the normal skin tone.

 

I've been waiting for a while to come back to the hobby. And even longer waiting for a pretty elf girl... I adore the romantic head, and the baby pink is lovely. My Breccia is normal skin tone, so I've been thinking my next doll would have a diff colour resin. Curse you SOOM! lol

As much as I want this release, it's just not happening. Due to the Corvid, I lost my job, and basic human needs come first... I'll have to keep an eye in the market place.

 

I got real scared when I saw that Saiph was being re-released, but thankfully she didn't steal my heart. I am torn on that outfit though! Might wait a few days and see if I can snag it. So pretty

 

I wonder if Soom will ever re-release the Mecha Angel version of Saiph. I absolutely loved her lips. The Super Gem's lips are too small imo
