Soom Little Gem Monthly Mini Doll discussion (part 7)

I ordered a Koori head on a Dain body in Tawny. I also want a white skin Volo maybe or a Dain. What should I do? Anyone else ordering anything?

 

I'm thinking of ordering either Roxen or Erland on a Rang body, but I'm a bit sad that there's no grey option.
Did they ever offer grey in a free choice for little gem before?

She is lovely! I especially like the coloured blushing on her legs and hooves.

 

I finally ordered my Ior from this latest release! I'm SO very happy! I've been pestering Soom about putting her in an FCE for the last 2 years. xD

 

We just ordered a Volo head on an Aisling body, and a Luna head on a Volo body! I get my Volo, and mom gets a human bodied Luna! Now I just have to dye my Volo purple, and I will have the doll I've wanted for years! (couldn't manage to buy a purple Volo when they were first released, plus I'd prefer her a slightly pinker shade of purple than the cool blueish purple that Soom's light violet resin is).

 

I hope I made a right decision on color for my Koori/ Dain. I chose Tawny because i didn’t have a Little Gem in that skin tone. I really hope I like her in that color.

 

My grey Serin romantic head came back from faceup today. He was done by Dybbuk of Nocturnal Doll and I love how he turned out. These are my two merboys together at last.

I'm trying to finally get around to dressing my little gems and I'm running into shoe issues. What shoes have people found that work for these guys? Do the ones you've found look over-sized at all? Pics would be great~

Sadly I haven't buy clothes for her and her own body is still in wait time, that's why now she have to use her sister's body and clothes

Have anyone seen Soom's new Nor & Dune-regression??
The wing parts and theme are so gorgeous I can't help myself but to order it!
It will be my first Soom doll

 

Hi guys! Can I see your Soom hybrids (heads on other bodies)? I like my Tuff head on my Dikadoll original girl body but that body has a head, and I found out Loongsoul's new girl body (B-G42-03 on Alice's collections) has very similar measurements and I LOVE the aesthetics of that body (and it's cheaper than Dikadoll) so I'm putting it on layaway on the 11th!

 

I think there was a thread with that kind of hybrids?

 

I fell in love with the new Nor also. D8 I've always loved the sculpt, but for some reason the gray skin really got to me! And those wings are amazing! I bought him to be a sort of counterpart to my Soom Shale who is in white skin. Congrats on your purchase! What color did you get?

 

I got the white skin! The gray is gorgeous too but a friend told me that seams aren't removable because sanding them would damage the color of the resin >m< I can't stand seams that would hurt my hands , just a pet peeve for me so I ordered the safer white instead, but they are both beautiful!

yes I got the white one! I see that they updated the magnet bodies on the nor&dune page, I think they will include two types of wing attachment for the bodies!

 

I saw that too! I'm hoping that they will! Those white wings are gorgeous. I almost got them instead of the black but I went with black as I didn't want to be stuck with the white horns. xD

 

Hey, I bought rico mermaid body from other hobbyist, and now I have a little problem. I got like 4 different size of string with body and I have no clue what I should use. If anyone can help a bit and check their mermaids that would be awesome . I stringed her with 'bout medium size string (what I use for my other MSD dolls), but it kind of feels like too loose.

 

Ah you are right... But I think I can blush the white horn into black once I'm done with the white ones XD

My serin has only 2 strings - short for arms and long for body+mermaid tail
Other strings may be for human body or extra?

Yeah might be. Her last owner said that she have no idea what strings the body had so (since it's been over year when mermaid body was stringed) she put some extra with it. Oh well, maybe I just try and figure out!

 

I just realised I haven't shared my Alula here yet. He was my second second-hand doll and is the Golden Light Children version of Shale. I'd love to get another Little Gem but so far Soom haven't released any I've been interested in recently, which is probably better for my wallet

 

Alula is amazing! That look is perfection! And I'm with you, @Magical Rin! The new ones are cute but none are screaming "buy meeee," thankfully.

I took a zillion pictures of my Sueve yesterday, and, as usual, ended up with 1 reasonable one, hahaha. She's quite cotton candy-esque here. I used to want to sell her, but I'm glad she's still with me. Funny how that goes.

My Soom Cheshire is the only MSD I have at the moment and I love him to bits. I was so happy when Soom re-released him.

I barely seen this sculpt, but she definitely inspired me!

 

It feels like lately Soom has been using the same style for faceups, which I... completely do not care for in the slightest. That little pink line on the inside of the eyelid looks terrible to me. I guess it's a good thing, since it keeps me from seeing and falling in love with anything, but it's still saddening that they've shifted to things I don't like.

 

Has anyone seen that there's a list of pre-order and in-stock stuff up for the Project Doll convention? Borol and Marl are listed as Little Gem centaurs, I really hope they'll be actual deertaurs!

I finally made the last payment on Nor and I'm so excited to have him paid off! I put the new Cheshire on layaway as well because I adore the tawny skin tone. ;o; One more payment for him, hehe~ Now I have to start planning for clothes and faceups. xD It's a lot!

 

Aaaaa this is a disaster! I have $100 in Soom credit that I've been waiting forever to cash in (mostly waiting for one of their pet dolls to take my fancy). And then today I check the site, not expecting much, and they have basic Trond and Kivi, one of my biggest grails!!! And the default boy face-up is 100% bang on perfect for a character I never expected to be able to shell...

The only problem is money (of course, isn't it always?). My budget is meant to be $100, not $400

Hopefully I've found out about them early enough to do some scrambling!

So my Summer (Soom Kivi) just got back from the spa and I have to show her off with her brother Grey.


Credits - Summer is a Soom Kivi wearing Dollmore clothes and an Angell-Studio wig - faceup by @meenist . Grey is a Soom Grey wearing a Leekeworld wig and Volks clothes - default Soom faceup.

 

I just sent my earless Roxen off to get ears made and blushing. Next projects involve getting my Volo, Cheshire, Yuki, and Thera blushed (and get my Dain a body!) and then I can make clothes for them!

Edit: oooo, a Pel! She looks cute, if I had the funds to buy another doll I might be tempted to get her. That outfit is awesome... but I'm also really disappointed. The "fantasy parts" consist of the horns and nail hands in the pictures... and then completely unrelated hoof parts that weren't shown in any of the pictures of the doll! So if I want to buy everything in the picture, I have to buy these irrelevant hooves.

 

I'm glad I'm not the only one who was really confused by the random hooves!

Tbh I set myself up for disappointment because as soon as I saw the subtitle was 'Poisonous Fascination' I was all "Little Gem Vesuvia?????" when I should have known the odds were high for yet another set of hooves...

 

I might actually be tempted if they ever release a Little Gem Vesuvia. Yarn and Silky's tails were a little too string-of-beads shaped for me, but a Little Gem would be big enough for a decent tail.

I was also annoyed that the horns look like they're part of that headdress in the pictures, if you don't look carefully at the outfit description you will be very confused.

 

does anyone in here know if they've discontinued the non blossom body variant for the girl body?

 

It seems like it. Though they might offer the older body in a free choice event in the future.

 

I recently fell in love Soom and started to have new family from Soom Idealian. Now I fell in love again with Soom again and it's little gem Serin. I loved tawny Dorothy in Male ver. but it was really hard to find him and luckly I was able to get tawny Serin! However it was head only so I bought tawny boy body from soom webpage which is Langdain's body.
I'm so excited and at the same time、it's new size for me so I'm kind of pressured myself to get stuff for him from head to toe.
This is one of my bad habits that I have to buy stuff and need to get ready before doll arrives home

So i have quick question to all little gem owner、how long do they normally take to ship the item when you buy body itself?? As I wrote、 head is second hand and body is from shop、 and I'm so curious that how long will The Gem will take to ship the body. because when I got my idealian Soom fully took 98days to ship and I do not want to think about that I will have same experience for this new boy

I picked up those random hooves they listed awhile back along side the Pel re-release for my Dune re-release. I'm not sure why they had the fantasy legs/parts as an extra option (rare to see such a thing from SOOM) - but I am so So Sooooo happy they did. I couldn't be more pleased

I love the little faun legs/fantasy legs they've put on the Little Gems. They're so cute, but also look really stable compared to a lot of other companies' takes on the theme.

Oh BOY! SOOM has my attention! Pale Violet BUNNIES? About time they used those Mylo/Teschen bunny parts! Does anyone here have pale violet parts? I already have a hybrid bunny in NS using the soom Teschen/Mylo parts, but I'm very tempted with this violet option. Is it as grey as it looks in photos?

Apologies for the double post but I just ordered the new Koori with both heads and in the violet skin tone. ;v; Is anyone else planning to order them?

 

Im really tempted to order! But I'm not sure if I want Violet or Normal skin! What sold you on the violet? I already havea hybrid NS bunny so I miiiight try violet, but it looks more grey?

 

The pale violet is quite pale. There is a comparison back on Aug 25th on the idealian_studio in Instagram.
