The surprise face looks so mischievous. I love it! Can’t wait to see what people do with him. There were some pretty cool examples of it on IG, but not as many in the wild as I would have expected.

They're worlds outside my price range, but I'm loving these special editions Soom's been doing lately. They're so cool looking!

It looks like R. Dean has done the eyes as well as the faceup this time. They're really pretty eyes...I wonder if R. Dean ever does pre-orders for eyes? Or are they just a collab with Soom kind of thing?

Ugh, so we get another Garion release, but it's a 3 quantity limited with an outfit and faceup I have no need for. He's hoping we'll eventually get another regular pre-order.

 

Ooo, thank you both for the info! Next time she opens an overseas pre-order I'm gonna have to snatch up a pair! I've never seen such beautiful cat eyes before.

So, I have no pictures yet, but I have EXCITING NEWS! I managed to snag an OG Hyperon Dhampir off of one of our lovely forum members here, and he just got home today!! I'm over the moon, y'all. I can't even describe how gorgeous he is in person. Time and again I am completely blown away by the detail on Soom's sculpts. Gonna have to take some pics ASAP. (Gotta get him some clothes first, though, lol. Nothing I have on hand will even remotely fit this beef chunk. )

My Tawny Zak arrived on Thursday! I absolutely love his sculpt! I think I'm gonna commission Angel Toast to do his faceup once she opens up for commissions again.

 

Soom announced a goodbye spring event for Garion and Narmer! In peony white.

I want Narmer so bad, but... Not this version. So just a tease for me

 

Ugh, why you do this to me Soom!? I'll probably bite, but I really wish Garion came with the option for both heads.

Edit: Does anyone know the difference between peony white and cream white? I kind of wish he came in almost any other color, and I normally like white resin, but of all the resin colors he's come in so far white is the one I feel does the least for his strong features. But, who knows when I'll have another pre-order chance.

 

Cream white is a softer, warmer whilte, while Peony White is a blue-ish white, = paper white - at least according to Sooms color chart. Skin Color - The Gem

OMG I love Garion so bad!!! But I think my wallet will be happy this time, just another white skin version. Oh Soom why?!

 

Damn. I wished so hard for a Garion re-release, but in basically any other color then white. Imho white simply doesnt suit his features, he needs color.

However the tempation to buy and simply dye him is great. In that regard this peony white would be the best blank canvas ever.

 

On the fence to get the Dokkebi version Garion. I'm not really into the horns but I've always wanted an "elf" in my crew. Hmm...

 

Would be pretty easy to just sand them off tho

 

I am also torn on the Dokkebi Garion. I don’t usually collect WS dolls and the paper white is just so white. Does anyone have any pictures of their Peony White idealians?

lol Same here. If Soom ever does him in another color I can "trade" up.

 

I was just so excited I could afford him. When he was first released, I waffled on him and went "well he'll come up secondhand" and boy was I not expecting him to be so popular.

Also was not clear on whether or not he comes with faceup (I'm guessing not?) but it didn't say or offer it as an option, so if he does, I'll just be pumped that that's already done

 

I want Garion, but I wish he came with a human head. Slightly disappointed because this means a long wait for the version I want.

 

When the first version of him in red came out I didn't really like him, I think it was his face-up that didn't really work for me (even now when I go back and look at that version there's something off putting about him to me) because once I saw other users Garion's with different face-ups I fell hard.

 

Oh yeah. I was actually saving up for a second hand guy when Soom announced the rerelease, because there are some gorgeous pics of him out there... I’m really excited to see him in person (and also see what 75cm worth of Idealian is like—he’s going to be tied for tallest doll here!)

 

My exact same thought process. Though that leaves the question what color to dye him.
Do you already have a color in mind? Im kinda digging the light blue of that one special.

 

I was going to go electric blue if white doesn’t work, but I’m also liking the idea of light purple with a light dusting of pearlex (like the colour vesuvia poison kiss was offered in)

 

Oh, that would look so good on him! I'm going to wait for the normal head to pop up again. That and my wallet has dust bunnies in it currently.......

I don't if it'll grow on me but as of now I'm thinking of sending him to another artist ASAP.


It's the next day and I kind of dig him now. The faceup doesn't look as bad in real life. The camera actually makes it look a lot worse.

 

@mekirin So, sorry he didn't turn out the way you wanted. If you're just not feeling it you should send him to another artist.

 

I would be disappointed with him too.

@mekirin He doesn’t look that bad! I think the choice of purple as the eyeshadow was a bit unfortunate but apart from that he looks like a nice, handsome guy.

 

I wanted him to look like this male model but to be fair in the pics I sent her, there was some dark shadow by the nose area. But yes! I'm glad I'm able to appreciate the faceup now, although still kinda salty about it lol

Yea, I don't like that purple eyeshadow either but maybe it's the artist's take on a realistic faceup
