Soom Faery Legend discussion part 3

The original LE Jinn was offered in pale blue skin so he will not be offered in pale blue again.

 

I have Sleet, an Auber Storm Sprite in grey resin, and Iwa-Xine, a Boehm Smoke Sprite in light green resin. I may also be getting another but I'm waiting to hear back from somebody and I'm not 100% sure I should take the plunge on another doll right now as I'm in the midst of a layaway.

 

@P-Aei : here you have a photo with both littlegem (standard MSD) and minigem ! I was about to make one with mine, but this one is already done

 

@nancy_schroeder_ca Oh you're right! Soom doesn't offer the same resin colors as the original releases, I totally forgot. Well, looks like I'll just be stalking around for one second hand....

@Iron_Dog Those are really cool sculpts too, wow, what do you think of the light green resin?

@Alishino Thank you! I don't know why I keep thinking they'll be closer to MSD size when 30cm is much closer to YoSD sizes haha, that really helps!

 

Well, technically I won't have the doll in my possession for another month. A friend bought him for me as a surprise (while I was buying her a doll she wanted as a surprise *laughs*) and when she asked how I wanted to get him (mail him to me immediately or wait for our vacation months later), I said I'd wait and we'd do a dolly exchange when we see each other on vacation.

Considering that Canada Post seems to LOVE to nail me for Customs fees *grumbles*, I figured that was the best way to go. It's also allowed me time to get him his wig, eyes and make him an outfit. He'll still need a face-up after I get him, and I need to figure out who I want to do it.

Oh she's really cute! Not "I need her in my life asap" cute for me, but I love her face. So precious. ♥

 

Her face is so cute, but her fairy parts are kind of bland compared to the other ones...

 

I like her face and expression a lot.

Nothing gets me more than pouty elf ears... and I squealed at the thought of Pumpkin... I'm so very very very very tempted... I just sold a doll so enough money to cover for her is sitting in my paypal... But I didn't really play with my last few fairies... but pouty elf ears /flails The other dolls I want are basic so I could order them later... if I don't get her she's going to be gone... and I have a feeling she won't be popular enough to really find second hand... oh decisions...

 

Haha aww her droopy ears are actually part of what I love about her! They're just so cute to me. @Call Me Stephanie it's so hard to decide on these faeries... They're so rarely popular enough to get second hand...! I have this dilemma every time one I like is released.

 

She is really cute and I could do her faceup myself.........hmmm..........

 

I actually rather like her faery parts in their simplicity. Her face is super cute, but I am not big on the face up cuz she looks so worried.

 

I'm not a huge fan of Juchy but her wings are beautiful!
Question for you fellow faerie fans: where can we buy stands for our lovelies? My Nenad, Idrial, and Rick do enjoy their furniture but I would love to have them stand for photos. They have very kicky legs and I thought stands would help with that but I have no idea where to buy stands in their size. (And the Angell-Studio 1/6th stand is too big as I found out the hard way - good thing my friend has a bunch of 1/6 dolls!)

 

I adore these but can never remember to check their website, so the ones I want are always sold out before I can order lol -- plus, I want, like, a good quarter of them so I am indecisive when new ones come out!

I really love faeries and these ones are some of the most stunning I've seen, ugh x.x

Like Call Me Stephanie said, its not easy to find these guys second hand, and I adore those ears! And the shoes are cool. I'm just not sure about her face, but that might be the face-up I don't like.

Gah! Soom, why must you have such short order periods for your pretty fairies?!! I've hardly done anything with my Rick yet...

 

I attempted to make a wig for my Rick, Sitri... He's still very blank, but I have eyes on the way for him. Then I just have to find him something to wear other than these (totally hilarious) boxers, ehehe.

 

That wig looks awesome! And I bow down to your ability to get him to stand! He looks rather nice blank!

 

Hahaha thanks @jessholy ! I admit he is definitely not the easiest stander in the world... I agree though, he is quite handsome blank! I'm waiting on eyes for him before I paint him (for whatever reason). Hehe. Thanks!

 

How do you get him to stand? Or any of your faeries for that matter? I have no luck with it! I can't wait to see what he looks like when he is all done!

 

Oh jeez, I don't know-- he's definitely not the worst of my lot! I find manipulating him from the ankles is helpful.

 

Frequently you can hold the toes down and then move the body until you find the balance point.

 

But how do you stop the knees from buckling? That's always been my issue.

 

I just tried this out and they all stood on their own! Idrial was the hardest one. (Well alright their SD brother was the hardest.) Thank you for the tips!!

 

Does anyone know what the light violet resin Juchy is available in looks like in person? If I get her I have no idea which color I'd get her in.

 

I think most of the pictures are light violet.

 

You can search also for migma pics (Super Gem), she was in LV too. I've sold my head in this color, so I cannot make picture

 

Well, I did it. I ordered a light violet Juchy! I'm not going to feel guilty about it since I spent Sunday night in the hospital.

Oh thank you! I have very similar stands on some of Figmas/Figuarts.

 

Dollmore also has these cheap stands that are perfect for Soom faeries I use them to display my faeries. Despite the low price, they're actually pretty great!

I got my shipping notice for Juchy a month before I was expecting it! I should order her some eyes, since I don't seem to have enough of them in the right size.

 

Hurray! I hope you have an easy time finding eyes for her - 8mm are easier to find than 6mm!

They sell 6-8mm Oscar eyes, which I think look amazing in the fairies.

 

She's here! The light violet is a pale purple blue. It's a lovely color. She's wearing some random clothes at the moment.

I agree! Denver Doll Emporium and Fabric Friends & Dolls also sell a few Oscar Doll Eyes in that size.

 

I like the grey purple glass eyes in my new girl, but some of the Oscar Doll ones could be perfect for my Noellia who's currently wearing brown acrylics that don't suit her at all.

 

@Leo Pheonix You might just want to look for glass eyes too. Acrylics just might not be to your taste. =)

 

I originally got glass eyes for my Noellia and it took me several months to realize it was nearly impossible to tell what color they were because they're too big! The Oscar Doll ones are sooo pretty, and she's the limited BK version so she's extra special. I can't afford Oscar Doll eyes for everybody!

 

I did the same thing with a set of acrylic eyes for my Rick. I bought a nice set of blue eyes - round, 8 mm - and it turns out his sockets can really only take oval eyes. If I do round eyes they have to be 6 mm possibly. I struggled just to get his default eyes in so those aren't coming out anytime soon. Oscar Doll eyes certainly aren't cheap but I love them!

 

I got 6mm round glass eyes in my Nyer. I got them from Ginarolo and they're lovely.

 

So 6mm round eyes work well for the boy faeries? Good to know!

I have 6mm oval flat glass eyes in Boehm. Probably in the other guys too but I haven't entered in my database.

I have four fairies now- FCE Boehm with a human body, Noellia, Rick, and Juchy. Two guys and two girls and they all have 6mm round eyes. Two of them have flat back acrylics that I'm going to replace with nicer ones.

 

@Leo Pheonix Awww yea so many faeries! I wish I had known about the FCE so I could have gotten myself an Azur.

 

It would have been an Azur with human legs, as that's what my Boehm head's on. The tail wasn't available, so you didn't miss it. Someone else on this thread was disappointed about it. Maybe next time?

Hey guys, I know there used to be a thread that listed the kinds of clothes and shoes that faeries could wear but I can't seem to find it anymore. What kind of shoes do you guys use for them?

 

Blythe shoes fit the girls, so do pukifee shoes.

 

I didn't know for pukifee, I've bought blythe boots but I could test them, I wasn't sure for the other shoes ! Thanks
