I wanted to make a discussion thread for my favorite artist doll line, Skyland Dolls by Dat Nguyen~ He released his first sculpt, Pigi, in 2021 and since created two additional sculpts, Bogun and Fern, who use the same 1/5 scale body. The dolls can only be ordered via Instagram @skyland_dolls Measurements (Pear Body) Measurements (Apple Body) Resin Colors New Resin Colors These are my Skyland girls: Nemesis is a Fern in Lavender Milktea from 2023 Cricket is a Pigi in Milktea from 2021
I have a Bogun on order. >.> I'd really like to see her someday. LOL. But I'm wishing I'd gotten the tan. I got Milk Tea.
I heard he ran into some major issues with customs! I’m so grateful that I was able to get my Fern as leftover stock from a doll convention. Bogun is so cute and I definitely plan to get her one day! Probably in tan.
Does anyone have recommendations for shoes that fit Pigi well? I suspected ~5cm range; YOSD shoes are tight but I've been able to get on a few. Minifee or slim msd range fit ok, but have a slight oversized look depending on the shoe. I currently have some Glitter Girls Light Up Shoes from Target, those actually fit great! I'm in the process of doing my pigi's faceup, but i'll share a photo when she's done.
Skyland sent my tracking number today for my Bogun and I was surprised when I plugged it in that it was "Our for Delivery" and I got her today! She's super cute I'll try to take some pictures in a bit, having some mixed feelings as her condition upon arrival was a little rougher than I'm used to getting for new dolls.
So, if you get your Skyland doll there might be some smudged pastel marks, loose magnets. Mine came hot glue sueded (I do remember way back him mentioning this) and she had some black and red smudges on her legs, and the top of her head cap. I assume from handling. They all cleaned off nicely with a gentle magic eraser. Her head magnet had come loose and she doesn't have one in her back (but I'm not sure she's supposed to anyway...) Her only casting *flaw* is a tiny bubble on her ankle and what looks like a bit too much vigorous sanding on the other ankle (not as rounded). But its subtle and isn't an issue. I would have never noticed if the smudges hadn't sent me inspecting every inch of her. She's lovely. And I wish I had more time with her but she came 2 days before I leave on a 3 week trip. I found these dolls though Instagram and was intrigued withe the cute faces. Generally I like tinies but every now and then some sculpts are so beautiful that I waver. What kinda keeps me from buying one is the strange size they have? Like how it's kinda difficult to find clothes that fit them
Neither of my girls came with a magnet in the back, so I don’t think they’re meant to have one. I’ve never seen a Skyland doll with a tail, but I guess it’s nice to have the option? Haha
The sizing is a bit tricky. They wear 1/6 scale shirts and dresses, but bottoms usually need to be bigger. I tend to put my girls in dresses and oversized hoodies exclusively, but I have found a few pairs of bloomers that are stretchy enough to fit them! I actually like the way YOSD dresses look on them better than my actual YOSD dolls.
Skyland Dolls makes such pretty dolls - Pigi is one of my grails and I'm so happy I have some money for his new preorder! Sewing for her will be a fun challenge, but I'm curious on which shoes will fit!
My Pigi is almost shipped! Skyland Dolls is not the easiest to communicate with, but I have to say I was expecting to wait A LOT longer. She's one of my grails, I cannot wait to have her tracking number! I hope everything goes smoothly, and that she does come in, and without damage XD. I was thinking "ahh, I settled everything with all my upcoming dolls" but I always forget that shipping is the point where everything can go wrong! EDIT: does anybody know which eye size Pigi has?
Ordered my Pigi in Milk Tea on May 8th of this year. I've talked to Skyland Dolls on insta a couple of times about when he'll send her out; he says he's packing them all now but it doesn't seem like much progress has been made. Anyone else still waiting for their girl?
Hi everyone! I ordered a Pigi some time ago, now I'm working on ordering her a nice outfit. The seamstress asked me for some additional measurements - could someone with a Pigi or Curvy Body 1 from Skyland Dolls, which comes with Pigi, provide me those based on pictures?
I have a pink Pigi body that he keeps saying is in, then he said it was milk tea, and then he showed me a picture and said it was mailed out on Dec 8th, but when I check tracking it says only the label was created. I am asking him what's up right now, I am kind of tired of getting the run-around and am about to contact PayPal for a refund.
Di it as soon as you can. He had the nerve of sending me a busted doll with no hands after going no contact for two months. Dirty faceup, wrong body and mismatched colour between head and body. Contact Paypal and do it QUICKLY. Document everything! Be prepared to send the doll back in order to obtain the refund, but he is NOT trustworthy, and you deserve to have your money back. EDIT: you can open a Paypal claim for object not received. If he provides proof of shipping do NOT close the claim. If you receive a doll that is not in optimal condition, change the nature of the claim and fight for your money! It's not the first time he behaves this way.
I'm pretty sure my Pigi has the v1/A body, as I got her before he released the B body with Bogun. So if that's the body you need, here are my measurements! From shoulder to shoulder over the top of the head: 7in (7.5in if you want a little extra room) Temple to temple: 4in Belly button to the back (level with the belly button): 5in. Let me know if you need more!
I eventually received my doll after threatening to go to PayPal for a refund. It took him a while to ship her out after creating the label though, I think 1 or 2 weeks? But she arrived in decent condition and I think all of her parts are accounted for... but reading juuhachigo's message, I need to double check what I paid for... The funny thing is, he didn't even have to ship her super far!!
After the experience I had with him, I would advise against buying from him directly - he's not professional and he downright tried to scam me. I wanted to buy an instock Pigi he had, but he told me he sold her and he could make me a new one. Then he disappeared and I had to go after him. After I threatened him with a claim, and had to open one because he would not ship the doll despite telling me she was ready and go radio silent for weeks, he quickly produced the tracking number, but when I got the doll, it was a crappy one with the head not matching the body, the body was wrong, the HANDS WERE MISSING and the doll was very dirty. Clearly not a doll made specifically for me. I had to change the nature of the claim and he started making excuses because he thought mine was a preorder (so this is why you sent me a busted doll after I paid you 400+ dollars ???). Magically, whenever you threatened with a claim or made one, he started communicating quickly and in perfect English. I sent Paypal all my conversations with him and doll pictures. They sided with me, but in order to have my refund I had to ship the doll back out of my pocket, and I had to wait for the doll to arrive to him safely, so that doll might be still around to scam someone else. Also, he had shipped the doll IN THE DOLL BOX, WITH A LAYER OF BUBBLE WRAP AROUND IT, and that was it. People have received dolls from their preorders (so you should be fine if you did not notice issues), but I personally would steer clear. His dolls are pretty, but I had physical anxiety for two months thanks to this, and I don't wish this on anyone. He's not a professional and he does not care for his customers at all. He's just in it for the money and people like that simply do not deserve to be paid hundreds of dollars. And the resin was also of subpar quality. If anyone truly wishes to buy his sculpts, I urge them to turn to the secondhand market... or turn to more serious artists altogether. I bought myself a used Volks F48 with my refund money and I hope I never have to deal with Skyland Dolls again.
Unrelated to this specific scenario but I can't stress enough to act quickly with Paypal if something is amiss. Paypal will automatically deny your claim and close the case if 30 days elapse after you receive the goods, so do not let too much time go by. You don't get to open a new claim once a case is closed.
I threatened with PayPal as well, and he sent an update with the tracking and said all the dolls ship in one parcel to California and then are sent out for distribution. I am glad PayPal was updated with the info so if I have to go after a refund they have more updated info. I agree, I won't order from him again unless I receive a pristine doll, and pronto.
I'm so glad he's not the only one he did this too. Paypal flat-out told me back then if there are other incidents like this, he will be punished/restricted in the end.
Good morning, just wanted to send an update. I received my doll and she's amazing, of course we didn't verify the correct color before he made and shipped it so it's wrong lol. I thought it was Cherry Pink but she was regular/milk tea pink, so I am going to have another head done in Cherry pink, and he said he would throw in the sleeping face for free. Anyway, I am glad I got her and she really is beautiful!
