Thank you! I'm so excited to see her. I love mermaids.

I love her, too! She has a very pretty face and I love the smile in her faceup.

 

Ahhh please tell me someone is gonna get the mermaid! She’s so pretty! the tail definitely has limited posability, but unless you joint it like Meeksdoll for example, I think that’s gonna happen. I think she’s so pretty!

 

I love this setting. Lovely poses and the bikes and the bench all add to the realism. Very cute!

 

Gosh I am really loving the painting on the mermaid tail but also on Marina, like there is subtle scales painted on her torso and arms. She looks slightly malicious and I love it. Great mermaid design. Boo the athletic body won't be 1/4 thou.

 

I wonder why the athletic body won't be offered in 1/4 but the mermaid is. If anything I'd have thought it would be the other way round.

 

Really love Bella, the virgo! She looks like a Greek goddess. Or like an actress who could play effortlessly in some Jane Austen movie. Temptation incoming!

 

I'm loving Bella as well! She has the most realistic facial proportions I've seen thus far. There's doll beauty (like larger eyes and lips on a small, pointed-jawline face) and then there's something comparable to a real person's beauty—Bella hits the latter imo

Also, I'd like to ask, is it hard to shop for clothes for SJ's 1/4 scale? I know Iplehouse FID size is a close fit. Any alternative doll sizes that could work? I think about owning a mini being that it seems easier to handle and play with, especially if I want to bring a doll to travel.

 

@sageyufi For me clothes for these boys and girls are a nightmare. Souldoll Vito clothes fit the Mintonette body fairly well. I had a Chinese shop on etsy where I bought most of my 1/4 dolls clothes, since they did custom sizes (PABADoll), but they don´t exist anymore. I would be greatful for some suggestions too!

 

I did a quick search, but would pabadoll dot com be the same store you were referring to? I'm already familiar with a lot of the catalogue direct from Taobao but certainly I'll bookmark the page because trying to communicate custom sizing on the native Chinese app may be a hurdle too big for me

smh, the struggle of having no sewing skills. I'll sooner make a decent faceup and wig before I open that can of worms

 

@sageyufi Yes, that is the store Last time I looked they had almost no items, but that was months ago, or longer. Now it looks much better! Thanks for making me look again
I was always so happy with their custom made clothes, they always fit real well! Another good shop on etsy is GuluUP. They do not have that many clothes that are customizable, but they have cool designs and are super helpful if you ask for a custom size.

 

My Marie is here!!! And she's absolutely gorgeous - I am so delighted!!! Her face-up is so pretty and pink and sparkly, it's the loveliest thing!!! I don't have any eyes to suit her unfortunately - the search continues for them - but I'm so glad she's here at last!!!

My Isabelle is finally here! I got her on the daphne body with the dew bust. And the pale rose skin. She is my new favourite.

The daphne body is by far the best poser imo. Does anyone else think this or have I got lucky?

Are high heel feet included with the daphne body? Ive had a look on SartoriaJ and its says they are but high heel feet weren't included in the box. Has this happened to anyone else?

To answer your question about high heels: no, the Daphne body doesn’t come with them, hence the lower price. Though it’s still a body I really like for the most balanced proportions, and as @luluna said, the prettiest hands (I even regret pre-purchasing a pair of long-nailed hands just because of how well the Daphne hands are sculpted).

 

@sageyufi thanks for your reply! That's a shame there's no heel feet for this body. I thought it was cheaper cause it was shorter and less resin used haha

Oh your dolls are gorgeous. I love how you've styled them all. I think my favourite is the pale haired girl in the front she's absolutely beautiful. I love her wig, do you happen to remember where you got it?

Also that dark blue is so striking.

 

@Crissaegrim thanks! I got the wig from zerga studio on etsy. All my alpaca wigs are from her. The quality is very good, I definitely recommend

Yes, I think it has. I rarely use the high heeled feet but I think it happened (not getting them) to one of my MTN girls as well.

There was a problem with the EMS Korean shipping which prevented checkout. The order period for Bella has been extended until Friday.

 

Prior to purchasing my 59 DPN, I had asked Jay directly about heel feet and was told they weren't included. I could be wrong about MSD size though.

I think you may have mistagged me for @Loganberry But if anyone is curious and haven't seen my recent SJ doll photos yet, they are in the SD thread.

You create the best outfits AND take the best photos! Out of curiosity, what is this style called?

 

Does SartoriaJ usually hold a Halloween event? Or just a winter event? I can't remember if they did the last years. Would love to see some Halloween/witchy themed clothing sets from them.

My Elf Edgar arrived yesterday! He is sonoran beige, with David50 body. I special requested that his faceup be the Iron Mask Edgar faceup, and I love it so much! His smirk is fantastic. I had completely forgotten that I also ordered painted hands, which are wonderful.

Overall I really love the new David50 body too. It poses really well. Like, amazingly well. His elbow and shoulder joints hold at lots of different intervals without fiddling, he stands with feet at different placements with ease.

My first impression was that he seemed stocky, wider than my other men. But it's not too much. I took the time to compare him to my other guys, next to some of my gals, try on some of the SartoriaJ clothes, some random wigs, and I love him with everything. It's like, he's the doll I've been waiting for all this time, almost completely perfect. If I had one complaint, it's that this body doesn't offer different hand poses. I really like having a hand in a 'holding' sort of pose for interacting with props.

@skyealloway - Congratulations on your super wonderful Edgar! I also LOVE the David body...best of all the male SJ bodies IMO. I love your guy's smirk. The Iron Mask faceup is so well done.

I do agree about wishing there were more hand options.

 

Elves! I don't have any SJ dolls myself but I do like seeing everybody's elves from them. A buddy of mine has one and is curious about the posing ability of David and/or Daphne compared to other sculpts; any plans to take comparison photos between the elves? I know that the old 51 athletic body being very prettily sculpted but a bit of a brick posing-wise has been a pain point with her.

 

@Cryptid I agree, the older body is such a pain, I can never get it to do what I want. This new one is great! I went ahead and took some posing photos,

@sageyufi you know what, I think you are right. I went back and looked at the promo photos and I do like my Edgar a bit better! Perhaps it's because the original Iron Mask S Edgar was only in 1/3 size, perhaps they simplified the faceup when I requested it for 1/4 size. Either way I'm super happy I got him

 

@skyealloway - Also love your guy's handsome face, and it's nice to hear about the improvement in posing! Congrats! Not sure the aesthetics of the body are for me, though.

SartoriaJ released a newsletter today with sneak peaks of dolls and outfits, the event starts on Oct.17. So excited.

 

Will there be MSD sized dolls as well? There probably will, I just wished there would be more MSD sized outfits available.
