I don't have access to the marketplace yet and want to buy a MSD SJ guy. Do they come up for sale at all or should I just order one new?

 

@AraraSnow - Welcome! I've seen an occasional MSD SJ guy for sale on the MP...but then you are stuck with whatever sculpt is for sale at any given moment...better to order new, then get the sculpt that speaks to you the most. What sculpt are you wanting the most?

I usually consider MP sales as 'finds' but not something I can plan for. Though, once you have access you can put out a "want to buy" thread in the appropriate section and sometimes you can get one that way also. (If you find someone willing to part with one they already own.)

 

I've bought one SartoriaJ boy second-hand and seen one other. They do come up, but that's not always a guarantee that your preferred head/skin combo will come up. Especially for the newer sculpts

I guess unless you want an elf or one of the discontinued headsculpts, where you'd have to wait until next year's elf sale or rely on the second-hand market.

So, which guy do you want in particular?

 

Joshua is my favorite. I really like the Fifth Season Daniel too, but shame he only is in 1/3.

Your Lobelia is GORGEOUS!!! I’m not usually a huge fan of fantasy skin tones but she is absolute perfection!!

 

Hi all, I am looking into getting a doll of my Cyberpunk 2077 character next year and was looking at SJ sculpts that might work for her. Was just wondering about how SartoriaJ bodies handle; are they similar to Iplehouse bodies and kinda clunky/stiff? Also wondering if someone with Lobelia could post a side profile photo of her, I’d really appreciate it.

 

I have Lobelia in the human version. The body is similar as iplehouse, but posing much better, not so stiff as iplehouse, but made very well :-)

@Anita2006 Thanks for the photos and info. Good to know about the body! I’ll definitely still keep SJ in mind if I don’t find any other dolls that fit my girl. Your girl looks lovely, by the way.

I love SJ dolls, I have both sizes MSD and sd and I would say, they are getting better quality than Iplehouse dolls

 

@MB Lilac Thanks for your insight! Thankfully, I have no plans to get one of the guys bahaha. Good to know about the knees on the ladies though. I don’t really do a lot with my dolls, but even so, I still prefer doll bodies that are nice to handle and fun to pose just because. So always nice to know about doll bodies and their potential quirks that might make handling them more of a chore than something fun to do.

 

I find SJ girls (in both sizes) have the tendency to pitch forward really fast at the hip/leg joint. I need to suede them.

 

Interesting. I know Jarrad does that really badly but I just thought that was because I badly need to restring him as well as sueding him.

 

Yea, I think the Athletic SD body also pitches forward hard...especially the first one I got as his legs are not strung through the torso...I can't remember if my other ones are strung that way also.

 

Can anyone tell me if 10/4mm eyes will fit the msd girls? My new girl arrived today and I found PERECT eyes for her but they’re 10/4mm and the seller doesn’t make them in 8/4mm. Thanks for any info!

 

I found out that those eyes is too big. better to look where is 8/4mm

SartoriaJ have just posted a teaser on their Instagram for a new 41cm girl body!!! I wonder what she'll be like? It would be amazing if she was in scale with the other 1/4 dolls as like a younger sister or something! I guess we'll have to wait and see?!

 

@Patrice S I really love your girl! Those colors suit her so well!

As for the new body, maybe we get some new molds too! Not just a rescale of the existing heads, if at all.
EDIT: oh, question answered, just saw their latest Instagram post with the new heads

 

The new heads look very similar to Jenice and S. Jenice to me!

 

Pictures are up!!! She looks kind of like a Minifee? Very much that aesthetic with the bigger head and everything, so not in scale with the other dolls at all. Oh well, that’s a pass from me. Interesting joints though.

I was actually thinking about getting a Minifee. Not a fan of that much bobbleheadness, but I will wait to see how she will look with clothes and a face.

 

I would love to see how she looks with one of their existing 1/4 heads on. Whether it would still look bobble-headed or not.

Is anyone in possession of Matias? I´m interested in him as MSD size and would like to see owner pictures.
Is there any chance they´ll re-release him some day?

 

Heads up that there's some limited edition Halloween dolls on the SartoriaJ site - the SDs are released already and the MSDs will be released on the 18th (6am Korean time) - there will be 4 Judes in Fog Gray (2 elf, 2 human), and 3 Lobelias, also in grey, all at 20% off! Also I think some limited edition Halloween outfits you can buy separately (SD ones out already so I presume there will be MSD ones?) and limited Halloween makeup you can order for any doll, as far as I can tell! You need to click on the "Halloween" section on the website.

The SD outfits are gorgeous, looking forward to seeing the MSDs.
Kind of gutted though as I desperately want a Jude, but I really didn't want one in grey! Foiled yet again!!!

A bit disappointed of the female Halloween MSD outfits - well the one outfit. But I like the top hat The suits in all sizes look cool, but my experience with faux leather clothes are not good.

 

I agree about the faux leather! I avoid it also.

Yes I was also disappointed by the Halloween MSD selections, SD dolls get all the best stuff lol. I really liked the pant suit girl set for SD, but alas I only collect MSD. I nearly bought the set "Dusk" but still haven't committed. It seems like it has the most versatile pieces.

I'm not a fan of the new 1/4. They are cute and styled well but at this point my whole collection is styled with smaller heads so I'll pass.

I'm excited to see the new revamp of the athletic body! I like mine OK but it's not my favorite. I think I tolerate the body because I like the face so much.

 

I've seen a photo of the new body on Instagram...II have mixed feelings about it...the torso joint is nicer...the shoulders look a bit big and the abdomen is nice but very youthful looking to me....I hope it will pass for an older man.

And I'm really sorry to lose the Zeus option for the MSD men. At least with the big shoulders you got lots of muscles with it.

 

I love both of their older bodies and yeah. Zeus for sure will be missed. I'm glad that I was able thru the last couple of years to add some to the crew before they discontinued them.

 

They said on the 71cm one that there won't be mobility thighs, I don't know if there will be any on the new 51 ATH

 

I’m looking forward to the new body - I’m liking the look of it so far! I hope they do comparison pics with the old one so we can compare.

Also the holiday sale looks very exciting!!! New dolls and free shipping! Anyone got any plans for new dolls already?

 

I was looking at the holiday sale and thinking of ordering Adrian finally, only to go on the 1/4 dolls and to not find that head? Whut. I saw the notice about them changing bodies but when did they take down some of the heads?

 

Not all heads are available when they were limited and unfortunstely, Adrian was discontinued last May.

 

It never hurts to ask if a head will be available again.
