Sartoria J Design Group - Part 3

For me both Saras look pretty close to Fantyfoo face up, the only big difference I catch from the photos is eyelashes and eyebrows by Fantyfoo look a bit more uneven(which is done on purpose to make whole look more natural). I like sartoriaj eyebrows more tbh, but I think they should have made customers aware about that beforehand somehow, cause eyebrows change face like a lot.
And artistic photo filter on fantyfoo Sarah makes a lot of difference too, it adds dreaminess to the whole look, if you slap similar filter on your Sarah photos you will get the same vibes for sure.

 

@nancy_schroeder_ca No mobility joints ... now I wish I had chosen them. Then at least I could alter the direction of her legs when sitting. Noted for the next doll!
@luluna Thanks Mainly I am unhappy with that stuff on her face. With a price of 100$ that is totally unacceptable. It puts me off from ordering from them again right atm.
@Fyrwenn The Fantyfoo face up looks much more vibrant to me, the colors are more vibrant. But you are right, it probably is a filter. As I said, I was expecting something like that. Maybe Fantyfoo didn´t agree to a perfect copy. And yes, she would have looked alot different with stronger eyebrows.

@Ashemanu - Maybe if you do order from them again...you can ask them not to put on the sparkly stuff.

Oh man. They did Claudia and Madeline's death gowns. I neeeeeed them.
I'm considering maybe getting Kate, not sure yet. I do wish I could get all of the thinly veiled Interview With The Vampire dolls though.

 

Yes, I sympathize! I lova them but I keep telling myself that I don't NEED them.

That movie was such a huge part of my high school years. The scene that always stuck with me though was the way they did the color in the death scene with those two gowns. . . so I definitely NEED those. I can't decide if I want the vampire Kate head or the regular. I like her open mouth, but alsooo. . . the fangs are a little overbitey

 

I asked Jay if the Freya dress would fit the other female bodies with a normal bust. He said yes, but since it was made for the corset bust, that would fit best. A pity, I would have loved that dress! Wasn´t there a time when you could order the busts separately? Can´t find it anymore.

 

I commented in the Q&A section that it would great if they would offer the corset bust in the parts section again. I did order a corset bust for one of my dolls when they announced the discontinuation several years ago.

 

I got the following explanation for the corset bust:

If you are worried about the bustle dress, the dress fits well on any type of body.

It is made with stretchy fabric and back is lace up closure so it fits on any body, any bust type.​

We tried it on all the bodies and it fits well so you don't have to worry about it.​

 

@nancy_schroeder_ca Got almost the same answer, but with the extra remark that it was made specifically for the corset bust so he would recommend that. That made me a bit cautious about the fit on the other busts.

 

I think I will order both dresses. I do have a corset bust but she is a darker skin. I think I will get Kate but I may just order the dress and hope for dolls I like more in the future. I must make a decision today.

 

I went ahead and ordered both dresses and Kate (human version) on layaway. I was going back and forth about it, but yeah, definitely need them. And I really want one of the girls on the new body.

What are everyone's thoughts on the new David body? I like the height and the general shape, especially in clothes (or shirtless) but the wrists and ankles are jarring to me.

 

Ian temptation is strong...for sure.

I don't mind the wrists...and as long as the ankles are stable, I don't mind them either.

 

Sorry, I wasn't looking at wrists and ankles, just at Ian. I think I better stop.

Agreed! The ankles don't really bother me, as I would typically have them covered by pants/shoes. The wrists could get to me though lol. I'm thinking I might cave on ordering a Leo with this body, putting a short wig on him in the promo photos sold me on him working as a shell for a character of mine. This character typically wears long sleeves and would have his wrists covered, so maybe I'll be okay?

 

I was thinking bracers or something could fix that right up. He's darned nice looking, I'm gonna wait though as I have other stuff I need to spend money on -sigh-.

 

My SD Evelyn just recently arrived! (I didn't buy as many dolls this year, but I did get a few during the summer sales.)
She is even better than I was hoping for!
The big dolls are just 'better' somehow (I have difficulty with the smaller eyes, positioning them like I want.)...I do still try to focus on the msd size...but sometimes I just don't adore them as much as I do the bigger SD size.

Hello everyone,

Does anyone else have a problem with PayPal payment to Sartoria? I tried to pay for my order but it kept on saying that the recipient of this email cannot accept payments. I tried to pay from my dads PayPal and them my sisters, but the same. I paid for other stuff afterwords in South Korea as well by PayPal and all went well…

 

@Onkani I have been having a horrible time paying my layaway through paypal it keeps telling me something went wrong.

 

Omg when did it start? Is it something recent or?.. I did message Jay in their Q&A board, perhaps you should do too, so they can actually reply and see what’s wrong

 

It has been going on all week, and my layaway payment is late because of it.

 

Did they tell what’s the issue?

 

No, I just get an error message that says "something went wrong" and to try paying again.

 

I strongly suggest to ask about it on their question board. I messaged PayPal but they keep on saying that “agent no available” and I’m from Europe so I messaged the center at working hours. I messaged them now (US working hours) and against nothing.

 

That's a good idea I'll try asking on the question board. I hope we can figure out what is going on with paypal payments soon.

Ok guys all is clear now: Jay told me they changed their PayPal address in September so if any of you have stuff on layaway contact them via their board and all will be solved

@luluna Pretty girls as usual I always admire how you manage to tame their wigs - almost no strays flying around.

 

She is so pretty. Is that the face-up she came with? Or did you have someone else paint her. I love her lips!

 

@Ashemanu - Thank you! I sometimes use a spray bottle and a toothbrush to comb flyaways and sometimes I edit a stray hair out for the ones I miss.

Omg I’m sooooo exited about porcelain white skin! And I saw Daphne in promo photos (I hope I’m not wrong). Do you guys think Sartoria will release other sculpts in this skin tone too?

 

Their December Calender says they will release two 1/3 dolls tomorrow, Audrey and Theo and two other 1/3 dolls on December 20th, Dean and Stella, so there's a good chance they will release them all in that skin tone.

You can see a bit of them already on their latest Newsletter. I have to say, that golden sparkle on white skin looks really hot and I love the ram horns. So curious for the new releases and their outfits.

 

The porcelain looks nice, but I'm waiting to see more photos of that midnight blue skin! ...not that I need any more dolls right now...

 

I love the midnight blue skin but am still paying off my Louis XIV Edgar. I will admire others midnight blue dolls and hope they release the colour again one day.

 

I'm really into the ram horns. I still may order a Nutcracker outfit...(for next year)...

 

Sartoriaj holiday strikes again! I had to make the decision to forgo a LLT Brilthor, likely forever, because I had a feeling Sartoriaj would get me again. Stella looks like the perfect younger sibling for my Agnes, so she's likely coming home.

SartoriaJ holiday gets me almost every year I know it's when they bring out their 'big guns.' I was hoping for wings on these, but I'm in love with Theo so he is likely coming home. I just want to see the midnight blue dolls....just in case....

 

I am glad I waited with buying Heather. I love the concept of these dolls. But before I decide on Audrey I will wait for the other two next week . Porcelain White sounds and looks awesome, but white skin means horrible yellowing for me. At least that midnight blue won´t yellow ! Probably ...

 

@Ashemanu yes the porcelain skin is gorgeous but I know from experience I cant handle white skin haha. I have to keep reminding myself of that.

@ryuunohime I'm also holding off from purchasing until Jay drops the midnight blue dolls. you know it's bad when I'm thinking "I'll make it off easy if I just get the dolls and not their outfits!"

I'm sure SJ will post a few photos on IG or we'll get an email before Friday with all kinds of temptation photos. It sounds like the "midnight blue" skin tone may be a "hit" for them. It sure has sparked a ton of interest here

 

I have been stalking their IG but not much yet! This feels like the longest week ever.

 

Does anyone know if the midnight blue will only be offered for the two new dolls or is it likely to be offered for the standard dolls too?

 

I'm definitely getting impatient for the next release! I need to figure out my final total for doll damages this year

I have to laugh, I had a package that had to be signed for so I assumed it was the clothes I ordered in Oct. Turns out it was a very sweet package from Jay with some coupons and a hand written christmas card. I feel a little bad I emailed my local USPS with a nice but terse message because I was having trouble with redelivery.

 

@Loganberry It looks like the porcelain white is only being offered for Theo and Audrey, so my guess would be that the midnight blue is only for Dean and Stella, as well. :\

Ooh, he's very regal in that color, and I love how the metallic stripes look on it! Not sure I'm convinced I need him at 73cm, though.

 

Hm I'm rather torn on Stella...I like her face sculpt but I wish I could see her without the dark blue skintone; as gorgeous as it is, I'm not big on fantasy skintones for my collection.

Audrey is definitely coming home, so I just need to take a few days to decide on Stella I suppose!

Dean is handsome but I'm trying to slow down and make sure I enjoy the two boys I have before I committ to more. My doll dress collection has ballooned into double digits while I have 3 outfits for the boys

 

Uh, Stella looks almost exactly like my favorite RPG-character, a Dark Elf ... very tempted right now, but also very frightened by all that money she demands.
