Hey I just noticed my Spencer's shipping and arrival date disappeared, should I add them back or just leave it at this point? He arrived in August, I gotta check the date.

Ringdoll doesn't like to fill orders for overseas dealers, do they? It's not that I have forgotten to update my entry, I really am still waiting from April.

 

The question is, because your item wasn't paid in full until sept, did MoC wait to send the order or did Ringdoll wait to start production until the item was paid in full?

 

MoC buys in batches for pre-orders and store stock (in this case it was a few days after my order was placed). The first layaway payment is a deposit that secures one's place in that batch. The company being ordered from doesn't have any idea who is paid in full and who's a layaway (or what is a pre-order or store stock for that matter). Usually, my doll is waiting for me before my layaway is even up.
I..uhm...I order a lot from MoC. I know their ways well.

 

Wow... That stinks then. The last time I ordered from Ringdoll though MoC I had no problems. I got my girl just as fast as the people who ordered direct. Then again That was nigh on 6 years ago. I wonder what changed.

 

Ringdoll just notified me that they shipped BOTH my orders at the same time!!! My second order was a body to go with the free head they gave me and they shipped it too!!!!

Greetings, everyone. I just sent my first payment for a Lucifer Arios fullset, so I get to join you guys! This is the most I'll have spent on a doll so far, and he'll be my first fullset so that makes me both very excited and nervous. I hope I'll like this guy just as much in person as I do in photos.

Just wanted to say something, lol. I hope the wait passes fast for everyone!

 

Hello!! I am just as excited!! Kylin is going to be my first SD, first fullset, first Ringdoll! Until now I just have YOSD and MSD. I hope we don't have to wait to much for them!!!

 

Very smart of you to get a fullset as your first SD doll, and Kylin is a great choice! Do you have a particular character in mind for him?
If you haven't seen an SD in person, I think the size difference will be a nice suprise.

 

I've never seen a SD before so I think I will be impressed with his size. It may sound silly but I've always wanted to have a BJD of my favorite character: Squall (from FFVIII). I've been searching for the right face and a nice body, so I think Kylin will be perfect. But Kylin is so beautiful that I am not sure I will be able to change him. But they look a like so I think I will be able to make Squall just changing his hair and clothes.
What about you? Do you have a character in mind for Lucifer Arios? He is so beautiful! Perfect face, hair, eyes, sword! So much detail. I guess I am in love with all Ringdoll boys! lol

 

Now that you mention it, he does look quite a bit like Squall! You really shouldn't bave to change the faceup or anything like that for him, so at the least you could have him cosplay as Squall, regardless of what you decide. but there's nothing silly about wanting a doll of your favorite character!
Do you feel confident about making his outfit? It seems like it would be fun to make.

I honestly don't have a strong cencept in mind for him yet. This was the first fullset doll that's ever wowed me, and he was the last one Alice Collections had. I couldn't find him elsewhere, so after lots of thinking I got him.
He does have a resemblence to Georik Zaberisk, who is a character from a very obscure gothic visual novel I loved. This character is also Lucifer, in a way, so it's kind of a funny coincidence. I'm thinking I might name him after Georik, and base him loosely off of him. But I still have awhile to plan for him, so that could change. I guess my plans are a little similar to yours xP

Wow, he does look like Georik Zaberisk! It will be a great character! I saw him on Alice's Collection and I was tempted to buy, since he was in stock and I wouldn't have to wait. But I've already bought Kylin, so, one doll at a time (and I wouldn't have the money anyway). When he arrives, tell me if you think he is as great as the pictures show!!

I've thought about keep Kylin the way he is and just cosplay Squall. Specially now that I found and bought a DIM minimee head that you be perfect to make Squall. Since both wear the same wig size and both heads fit the same body, I will try with the DIM head and keep Kylin stock. Maybe I will even buy a body and they will be 2 different characters. It is funny how our plans change along the way!

In stock dolls are so very, very tempting >< Especially fullsets. I hope you'll find another chance to get him though if you'd still like to buy Lucifer Arios later on.

It sounds like that works out perfectly for you! Having one body and a few heads isn't a bad idea either to save some space and some money. It'll be interesting to see how your Kylin might might evolve in that case. What kind of body do you think you'd get for the minimee head? Another Ringdoll body?
Very true xD Always interesting to see how it all plays out, and I like the added defails that can emerge from making a doll into a character. Some quirks or extra details that get added to them.

I am thinking about making a journal of my Squall project (I will have to creat weapon, wig, I've never done this before). Another Ringdoll body would be perfect, but I will have to save for it. Maybe I will buy from another company (the Super Star body from 5Star doll looks nice enough for me). Or maybe I will use Kylin's body!

Anybody receive Kylin yet? Or even any news from Ringdoll? I saw at their taobao site, some people already received it. I'm getting a bit nervous now, I emailed Ringdoll a few days ago, but there's no reply till today....=(

 

I got an email stating that it would be 60 to 90 business/working days, which means everything was pushed back by the long new year celebrations.

 

Yeah, I was told it would be sometime in March...

Order him on 1/3 but didn't get confirmation until the 13th. So with holidays deleted from working days I count we are 50 days into our 60-90 day wait for Kylin. If he comes sooner that the end of April I will be surprised.

I think it's fine. The list WAS long and was too near the character limit for me to add mine when I finally remembered to look for this thread. Anyway, my Ringdoll K and my Red King have both shipped. I ordered K in December and Red King in February. I expect they'll be here sometime this week.

Nope, blank! I have other ideas for him which involve his body going to another character and his head going to another body. I know, I'm such a savage. But yeah, I have characters of my own and the full set didn't fit the character I see for him. I do have his outfit partially finished.

K might get to keep his body, but he has no clothes. I have stuff I can throw on him in the meantime, but I don't have his outfit done at all yet.

 

It's all good. I bought the fullset but intend for a different head to be on the body... this armour was perfect for a character of mine.

I wasn't on the list but my K and Red King (both blank NS) arrived today. It was a long trip for them, and they probably had to be diverted around the local flooding, but they're finally home. I ordered K in mid-December and Red King in mid-February. K almost became my longest wait for a doll, but Dollshe still holds that record by a few days.

 

Olivemully: I ordered a Mona head from Ringdoll site. I PIF on May 12th, 21017 the same day I ordered. They said it would be a 60 day wait to ship. I haven't received a shipping date yet.

I ordered from Alice's Collections together with a bunch of other things (clothes... jointed hands......) so I'm a little afraid of the wait time I have to face in front of me...

No news about my Senki hands and feet order but I did add a pair of the wheat hands so I could compare them to other resins. Hopefully it won't add to much to my wait time.

 

I just placed an order for Mai. She's going to be my first BJD ever. I'm so excited! It's going to be hard to keep myself occupied now. Waiting makes procrastinating so much easier.

I got an email from Alice's Collections on September 20 saying my doll was being shipped. I keep checking the tracking number and the tracking sites keep saying "Despatch from Sorting Center". I just want to know what's going on - is he coming or what?

This is my first time ordering a doll and she hasn't shipped yet, but I DID just order the anime Angel's Egg from Japan, and it had that same status as the one your doll has now for about a week. I could be wrong about this, but I believe it has something to do with customs. Even though it took a week for its status to change, my dvd finally arrived in the US a few days ago, so I'm sure your doll is just fine. ^^

 

I know, logically, that everything is probably fine and I have nothing to worry about...it's pre-doll jitters combined with concern over shipping from China and he's my first doll in 5 years! Thanks for the reassurance Lunar Bird I know I just need to wait, but it's not easy.
