Ah, I've been looking at Pu'er too! He's really cute!!

I only have girl 1/4s, but I think they pose nicely and hold their poses well, though I've mostly done pretty normal sitting/standing/kneeling poses.

I've liked the fullsets I've gotten from RD so far! The only issues I've had are pretty minor (on my fullset Miu, two of the hooks closing her belt were sewn on in a way that made it impossible to close, but that's an easy fix!). I haven't had issues with the dolls fitting their own outfits otherwise, and their wigs are nice and consistent with the photos. I have two different fullset dolls wearing hanfu, and the way they're designed is pretty different. One (Bi Luo Chun, 1/4) has her dress basically sewn up like a normal two part doll dress where part one pulls over her head and part two zips in the back—so there's not much wiggle room when it comes to fit, and I actually take off her head to save myself grief pulling it over her shoulders. The other (Tina, 1/3) is designed more like an actual person outfit and closes with ties, so it's easy to dress her, and there's more room to experiment with it and try it on different dolls. I'm not sure what style Pu'er's is sewn in, but I wanted to share my experience with their hanfu sets!

Finally found the perfect wig for Minato, ironically belongs to another doll's fullset. Oh well. I also finally got some clear elastic to keep his shoes on, which is also a win for me.

 

My Alice who just arrived second hand! I'm thinking about names still. I've hot glue sueded and wired her and she poses great now!

Thank you! That was my first little haori jacket. The belt is a bit too tight on him since it was made for a smaller boy. I'll have to do some sewing to fix it.

Ooh, Ringdoll have just released a 1/4 doll in "fashion doll" scale, meaning it's like an SD in proportions but shrunk down - he's 50cm tall, looks like he should fit in with the Iplehouse FID, Sartoria J and Raccoondoll size crowd - this is very exciting!!! Also he's SO CHEAP compared to all the others I mentioned, especially with the opening sale - very tempting, except I also want to wait and see if they make other sculpts too? As "Raymond" is the big Raymond shrunk down, I'm hoping they do others as well - imagine if they did Fallen Angel Lucifer with all those wings at 1/4 scale?! Crossing my fingers!!!

I recently got my first Ring Kid, and while I love her and the feel of her resin, her body just...is really bad? At posing, holding poses... it squeaks, flops around, all sorts of problems. Does anyone else have these problems? Do I just need to suede and wire her? Or are there really good options for hybrids that match RD normal?

 

@dm_sof I used to restring mine with different elastic and that work quite well. Using silicone kip can help too. I also heard some people wiring their ringdoll.

The main reason I hybrid my Alice01 is because she was too tall, not much the mobility problem

If you don't mind the height, Myou, Doll Family H and Doll Family A offer color matching. 3 of them are quite good at posing. I've handle Myou ver.1 body before she can stand, sit, kneel, and pose nicely.

Loong soul and Charm doll have neck circumference match, but the color is not 100% perfect match, ring doll's color it self also varies batch by batch, so a company that offer color matching seem to be a better choice.

 

I'll probably end up going the color matching route, yeah. I didn't know that about MYOU! I've got a DF-H body that I like pretty well, although it's a 68cm so clearly not a testable option, haha. Maybe I'll wait for my MYOU girls to arrive and see how I like their bodies before picking one.

In the meantime, guess I'm restringing and hot-glue sueding her, since I'm out of kips. I'll let y'all know what the result is. Maybe I'll get lucky and it'll work well enough I don't feel the need to buy a new body; I really do love the resin feel.

 

I hope the restringing goes well and fixes the issue! I have two RD Kid girls, and I didn't have problems with them squeaking or flopping, though poses with the elbow joints have to be set into place very deliberately or they won't hold. Once they're set, they seem to hold whatever pose I set them in just fine.

 

Ordered a RingDoll boy back in January and I am dancing with impatience. It's only been four months so I know I have some time left but let's gooooo

 

Wanted to share a picture of my Bi Luo Chun, Xiao Bi, that I took yesterday. She's my first doll and I still love her very much! I think it's sad that the sales photos don't do justice in showing how cute her sculpt is.

 

I just ordered the Ringdoll Zhou Yu in 1/4 size - I'm so excited!!! He's the shrunk down version of the "Grown" SD dolls, they've previously had Zhou Yu in the SD size. I ordered him as a fullset as it was the only way to get him with the face up, which is so gorgeous I couldn't resist. I've never ordered a fullset doll before! I'm really hoping he fits in well with my MSD fashion crew - the Iplehouse FID, Raccoondolls and SartoriaJ in the 1/4 size. I've always loved the SD Ringdoll sculpts but I only buy MSD and below, so I am beyond thrilled they are doing the shrunk down versions - I'm longed for them for years! I'm torn between really hoping they release more, and hoping they space it out a bit for the sake of my wallet. I'd love Lucifer or Armand in 1/4 size so much!

Now to settle in for a long wait! Any idea what the wait time is like at the moment? I think people have said it's 5-6 months?

 

Hello all! I am also very intrigued by Zhou Yu, I admire their dolls for a long time now but the SDs are simply too big for my limited flat space. I have a question regarding the full set face ups. They look so gorgeous on the promo pictures, but is that really what you get, or is the face up more "basic" then?

 

@Ashemanu usually what you see is what you get for ringdoll, or the closest they can offer. Ringdoll have issue with some 1/4 sculpt's faceup being unstable a few years ago, but I saw they improve about this recently.

@morganatron Yes, I love the face up too. I just took the plunge and ordered him als full set from Alice Collections. I am really really doubtful regarding the quality of the face up, but this way I can be only positively surprised Expect the worst, be happy about everything better So let´s both cross fingers!

I am soooo tempted by that new doll Winnie... but I mostly like her outfit. I wish they sold it separately!

 

They've just released Baldwin IV Jerusalem in the 1/4 scale, complete with the absolutely incredible armour and crown!!! So I am once again being tempted by dolls I shouldn't be buying!

I'm also wondering about skintone - I have one Ringdoll in normal skin which I think is a very nice colour, but I think Baldwin in the pictures has white skin. Does anyone own a white skin doll? If so - what do you think of it, and any experience on if it yellows easily?

 

I loved the grown Baldwin IV, but he was too big for me. So I am super excited to see the smaller version, I will SO get him once Alice Collections offers him. Atm I am debating if I take the two heads version ... but I have the same questions about the skintone as @morganatron . I like the white skin from the pictures, but my experience with white skin dolls are generally not that good.

 

I do have a Ringdoll white from 4 years ago. It is as white as a sheet of paper without any undertone unlike other companies. In terms of yellowing it now has a slight dull yellow&greenish undertone on the surface but it came off with sandpaper.

 

Ooh that’s so exciting you’re getting him!!! I’m still trying to decide. I’d just get the standard head, but maybe also the silver hands and sword? I wouldn’t really want the mask but I am confused what the shoulder armour means? It says chest armour is included in the fullset - I wonder if that’s the mask bits on the shoulders?

Oh that’s good to know! I’ve also had bad experiences with white dolls turning yellow (fairyland especially!) but my DOD boy from almost 20 years ago is still white as snow?! I think because he’s truly paper white, with no undertone at all. So if Ringdoll is similar I’d consider it!

 

Hmm..I have RD ws dolls and they still looks same, but in my bjd room they sitting/staying at closets. Usually I ordering ws if have this option.

 

Also good to know! I keep my dolls out of direct sunlight, but they’re out on display, so I guess some yellowing is inevitable.

 

Just asking about Ringdoll CoA. I just opened my envelope and did not find what I thought a typical CoA would look like. So, I am guessing that the envelope and the box is the real means of authenticating them? (I don't mind if someone private messages me about this.)

 

I asked about this in my unboxing of a lucky bag. The COA is the little Ringdoll pendant that was in the box! I got confirmation from another user who also linked to Ringdoll's tweet about the latest shape (as of when I bought mine).

I don't think so, all ringdoll 1/4 sculpt have they specific head measurement and eyes, nose positioning. They can share clothing if using same body, but it's isn't the case with eyes, wigs and also mask
