Aaaaaaaaaaa! I snagged a Ringdoll Boyce on the RGM-3 body off the Marketplace, and ACCORDING TO THE TRACKING NUMBER he's supposed to arrive today!

I'm so excited! He'll be my first Ringdoll, and my second 70cm boy! (My first is a Dikadoll, and I'm very interested to see how they compare to each other)

I've been wanting a Ringdoll boy for a while now, and was considering biting the bullet and getting a Lucifer through Alice's Collections. But that WAIT TIME, omg. And while I was looking at blank head sculpts on Ringdoll's site, I found that the head I REALLY loved best wasn't Lucifer, but rather Boyce. But it was listed as out of stock on their site, and Alice's didn't seem to offer him at all...So I was really torn, you know?

When I saw a Boyce come up on the Marketplace it was like a sign from the universe. I snapped him up immediately, lol.

(I still might order a Lucifer eventually, and I'm definitely keeping an eye out on the secondhand market)

EDIT: He just got here!! Aaaaaaaaa, he's even more gorgeous in person! I can't wait to get him all strung together!

 

@GammaVector - yay! Boyce is so handsome. I have him in tan to share a #4 bod. so far, I have Xiu, Shen, Gain, Ksitigarbha on #4 plus White Rabbit teen. They're all exceptional & came with lots of extras.
But, I'm not willing to wait anymore. Not any time soon. You were smart to search the MP.

 

I would have loved for my Boyce to be in tan, but he appears to be normal skin. The seller had him listed as white skin, but having seen a white Ringdoll...I'm pretty sure it's just a case of their "normal" being super pale ^^;

The #4 body is really gorgeous. The curves and musculature are so elegant and lifelike! I think it's probably my favorite slim 70cm body.

 

how wonderful!! did you buy her from the store or through some intermediary store?? cause a want a ringdoll! but i need a layaway plan...

I'm sad so many dolls I want are being discontinued. I don't have money to get all of them.

 

I really wish ringdoll would sell the new Zhou Yu military uniform separate from the doll. Apparently they only let you do that if you got the last Zhou Yu. I want that set but not a whole other doll with it.

 

Omg we have the same taste. Boyce made me want a Ringdoll, but indeed sold out so i got Lucifer instead. No regrets. I'd love to see pictures

 

Hopefully the waiting time isn't too crazy

I'm just planning on putting some of the heads on layaway and get them a body later.

It's sad to see so many of their signature dolls going away, bit I'm also kinda looking forward to seeing who they produce after these sculpts get retired. I'm also trying to decide if I want to get a blank Red King, he's my grail but I've always wanted a fullset and not just the blank doll.

 

The discontinue hit me hard too. Some doll in that list just got released 'This year'... what a big discontinuation. (Some of my friends are also screaming right now. Too many sculpt that they can't support all of them)

I also have a question. does anyone have a picture of RDT/Ring Teenager with Volks DD/SD ? I want to see the'difference in proportion if possible.

 

I kind of wondered if that was the problem too, too many releases and not enough time for people to actually buy them. Almost every Ringdoll I own are on that list. I was thinking of getting a Lucifer head. I may have to get one now!

Did you want a Volks SD10? Or just DD? Because I have Michele and White Rabbit.

 

DD is what I (For more specific is DD girl vs Ring Teen Girl) actually want to see, but a sd10 + would be appreciate, if you don't mind... I'd be happy to see your crew

+ I rather used to volks than ringdoll so even sd comparison would help my vision more clear.

 

Wait, wait. It says Lucifer Style-C is being discontinued...Does that mean that Lucifer IN GENERAL is being discontinued?? There's a second version of him (Davidson) up for sale. Is it just the Style-C fullset/makeup that's being discontinued or the whole sculpt?

(Gah, curse me discovering Ringdoll so late in the game!)

Putting heads on layaway and getting bodies down the line is a really good idea, I think.

 

@GammaVector I suggest you to ask ringdoll directly. I saw someone wondering about Alice01-1/4 too since the Alice01 was listed as discontinue. (The picture show 1/3 one though)

 

So I took your advice and emailed Ringdoll directly. They say that Davidson - Nobless Oblige will still be sold. Lucifer's sculpt is not being discontinued. Only the Style-C fullset is going away. So, good news!

 

@GammaVector. Good to hear that! This mean some of the sculpt listed isn't really discontinue if they have other variation. Sound interesting.

 

My ringdoll grown head just came in, but I'm honestly not up to waiting 1 year+ for a body. Do you guys have any recommendations for other company bodies that will fit well with him? He's normal skin coloured. I was looking into lonng soul, but the skin colours don't seem to match.

 

Not sure about bodies. I'm sure that sime companies do resin matching, right? If you want i can check my Lucifer NS with my French Yellow Loongsoul that came in last month?

I think Dollshe/DT fresh is a decent match. Really old Dollmore that has paled enough that it's the same color as Ringdoll (my Senkai is on an old Model F and matches exact and I used to have a Teen head on a Dollmore Eve, and currently have one on a Dollmore Adam). Newer Dollmore is way pinker. Resinsoul Normal might be a good match. I just got some jointed hands for my K and if he wasn't a million years old I think they'd be the same color. Alas, he old.

Other companies who have WS that isn't 100% white would be good too, as Ringdoll is very pale.

 

I have no real proof of this, but I suspect Iplehouse white may be a decent match for recent Ringdoll normal. Ringdoll's normal resin is very, very pale, and looks a LOT like Iple's white skin does in my memory. Unfortunately, I don't own any white Iplehouse dolls, so I can't actually make the comparison.

 

I can say for sure that Granado WS does not match though.

 

I would appreciate that so much. I've always wanted to get a loongsoul body, because their posing looks amazing.

 

LoongSoul are absolutely amazing posers, but the wait times aren't quick for them either usually

My Ringdoll Lucifer NS head on Loongsoul French Yellow 71 body. Honestly the body poses great. My Ringdoll is 3 yrs old, my Loongsoul a month. I think they match near perfectly.

Oh wow that looks perfect. I think I'll go for the LS french yellow then. I can't seem to find the 71 body on their site. I could only fidn the 73, and 68. I'm assuming the 68 would look/work better. The 73 looks a bit too big.

Ohhh haha i might have 73. It's not the 68 definitely. I thought the LS head looks a bit small on the neck, but the Ringdoll head has better proportions. XD

 

@Vienel I don't know if you're still looking, but I've put my Ringdoll Wolf head on an Angell-Studio body in solid butter and I think the match is great. Granted, my Wolf head is from 2017, but I feel that AS solid butter is pale and pinky enough to work with Ringdoll NS (and Ringdoll NS mellows quickly in my experience).

If you'd like pictures, I can dig them up. Idk if Angell-Studio still isn't selling their bodies separately, though.

I tried to understand the measurements on Ringdolls Website but they are a little confusing for me and since I am trying to get a matching head for the RGM3 Body custom made, I really need the exact neck measurements.
It says on the website that the top part measures 10cm and the lower part 12cm so which is the one I need for the head?
Maybe someone can possibly measure theirs for me?
I need the circumference and possibly the neck lengh to get my custom head to fit perfectly.

 

I took some quick measurements on my boy with the RGM-3 body, and here are the specifics:
10.1cm upper neck circumference
12.3cm lower neck circumference
The RGM-3 has sloping shoulders, so the height from the highest point at the base of the neck on the shoulders is 3.6 cm, and to the lowest part of the slope of the shoulders is 4.8cm. If you need anything more precise, I can try and get those for you. (Had to do this quick, as I have to run in a few.)

Also, something worth noting: The top of the neck is very flat, and the shape of the neck is tapered downward from top to end. If you need any photos taken of it without a head for reference by chance, let me know and I can try and get whatever you need.

I am curious when Ringdoll will offer the 'Zhou Yu' full set again.
By chance I saw doll owner pictures on Weibo. And the doll looks really beautiful.
Maybe this time I could get weak. I should definitely keep an eye on the re-release of the full set.

Long waits can be very difficult. But if the doll is worth it, I'll do that too.
