I wouldn't bother looking for older tan Ringdoll bodies either, their new tan is so different from their old tan. But I am happy K isn't gone.

Nope, but they said they can order. Since it seems he's been at least unofficially discontinued, it's the final push I needed to order. It's going to be forever until he's home, but I'm sadly getting used to looooooong wait times. I have two dollshe orders haha.

@SteamWitch oh I'm unfortunately aware of the color mismatch. I really appreciate the clear photo of just how bad it is though! Resin matching is actually pretty low on my list of worries (looks at horrifically mismatched hybrid collection ), but I still want something nicer since this particular character is one of my few that won't necessarily be completely clothed at all times.

 

I have read in the news that some shipping companies have begun to refuse packages sent from China. Is this likely to cause further delays?

 

that's a huge difference in tans. the new head is much less shiny as well. I have a tan guy with extra head. I prefer the new color. I love wheat & ordered my Kisitigarbha in that. but next doll might be new tan.

looks like the grounded flights in China are delaying shipments. I don't see any postal services refusing to accept anything.

 

WOH says that packages can't transmit the disease, so I don't see why there would be any companies refusing them.

Oh goodness Ringdoll’s newest Bai Zhi sculpt looks drop dead gorgeous. I didn’t know they’d be a series so it’s a surprise, I wonder if they’ll add any females now that we have Bai Zhi and Wo Long... And if they sell Bai Zhi’s clothes separately like they did WL then that’s an instant cop *sweating*

 

So... is Bai Zhi the Lan Wangji sculpt? Or am I crazy? They seem really similar to me.

 

You noticed too? I thought I was just seeing things but the eyes and nose are very very familiar but I think Bai Zhi’s nose is narrower.

 

Honestly I wonder if some companies just take a sculpt of theirs and just sand or add clay to create a "new" sculpt.

 

I'm glad it wasn't just me that saw the similarities! I do wonder if it's like what @FuyumiAya said, and they make slight modifications. He's very handsome which always tempts me, but I'm like ??? If it's basically Lan Wangji I don't need two of him!

 

Seeing as they reused a sculpt for Xin Zhao (Messenger) and He Yi (March hare) it’s not impossible, but they actually say whether or not it’s a different look. With Bai Zhi being an OC and part of their newest series he is most likely a new head. If it’s the same, I hope it’s a head we can buy separately because I missed out on lwj’s pretty sculpt. ;D; on second look Side profile is too different tho so it’s a pipe dream

 

I also noticed Bai Zhi's similarity to Wangji. Bai Zhi's nose is only slightly different (a bit straighter/more patrician?) from Wangji's based off the promo pics. Wangji's nose seems to have a slight scoop/bump at the tip, which Bai Zhi's nose doesn't have. I'd like to see the blank heads side by side to compare though.

 

My new Raven is now Akakios Edis, an immortal (by mishap) sorcerer. He goes by the nickname Book or Bookworm. He reads to keep himself from going insane. I just love how he turned out. I put him on a dollshe body for the pix but he will have another for his own soon.


I'm hoping the Pub will pull him out of his books occasionally.

Hey all, I just snatched up a secondhand tan K head from the marketplace and boy am I excited to get to work on him! I have an old Dollshe body that belonged to a character I have reshelled a couple years ago but haven't found myself quite able to part with which I'll be putting him on. The body is a very pale (and yellowed) white skin, so he'll be covered at all times, but I feel like the slenderness of it (and the slouch) really suits K's sculpt.
His hands, though, will require a more creative solution that I'm not quite sure how to tackle yet. Should be fun~

 

Congrats! K is one of my favorites. You may have to mod the Dollshe neck a bit for K's neck hole but not much and that slouch should fit with K very well.

 

Thank you! He arrived yesterday and dang, he photographs like a dream. The Dollshe neck is indeed a little too long, but other than that the fit is perfect (and with it all covered up the length isn't noticable, so that's lucky). Now to find a name.

Does anyone have Ring Doll 72cm Boy Feet (RGfeet01) who would be willing to provide exact measurements?

I've scoured Alice's Collections and the Ring Doll website, and I can't find anything. I'm hoping to find out:

* length of foot
* width of foot
* ankle size

Having the measurements in centimeters would be most useful, as I'm considering a hybrid and most BJD companies measure in centimeters.

You'll have to give me a day, but I have the original (#1) body and should be able to get those measurements.

Do they mention any other parts # for feet on the #2 or #3 bodies? I know the #4 body is shorter, but didn't pay attention to the foot size!

 

The latest statements about virus longevity is 24 hours on cardboard, about 72 hours on some other surfaces. So should be ok if you put the shipment aside for a couple of days and delay the gratification a bit!

 

No, the feet are listed separately and I don't know which body they were originally meant to go with. It's probably just me, but I find the Ring Doll website and bodies really confusing.

 

As far as I know, all the grown dolls use the same human feet.

I have a question for you lovely Ringdoll lovers!
What kind of shoes are a good fit for the RGM-03 body besides the ones made by Ringdoll? I've ordered three pairs from Ringdoll a year ago but I don't think I'll get them anytime soon... Any suggestions/experiences with shoes from other manufacturers?

 

Got my first BJD today, an Ashford EVO! He's so stunning... Got his fullset, but wanted to keep him in something "cozier" atm

I'm really surprised because he looks so much more accurate to the OC I wanted to shell than I expected!
