Ringdoll Grown Dolls, thread #7

Bit surprised to see Law on the discontinue list, as I feel like he's relatively new. I thought for sure that Qinzhe and Meng He would be up for the chopping block this time, considering they're some of the oldest Grown sculpts Ringdoll still has active. Not that it would bother me, since I have them both already, but I'm surprised by their longevity.

 

I was surprised as well! Maybe he didn't sell as well as they hope?

 

For anyone who is interested, R.Dean recently posted an Ashford box opening on Youtube.

 

@Maechen OMG so exciting to see an Ashford fullset unboxing! Seems she ordered around the same time as me, so I hope that means mine will be fast coming. (I'm starting to wonder if mine is taking extra long because I got him on a different body so they have to make the clothes differently sized, but I can't see how that could affect things too much...)

 

Legenddoll just told me my Ashford outfit is still gonna take 1-2 months to finish ._.

 

Hey guys, long time no see!

I'm trying to get back into the hobby after about a year, it's been a really bad year, but eventually I got diagnosed with exhaustion and depression and it's a huge relief for me. Now I don't have to stress about not performing good at work. So for two months (possibly more) I only have to concentrate on things that make my happy and my own health. Therefore I have started slowly looking into getting my vampire mob boss (RD Dracula) a more fitting outfit for his profession. I would like to find a grey pinstriped suit for him and some weapons (and maybe a hat).

So, I've been searching a bit online and I've seen on Ringdoll's official site that they've got a striped suit, but blue, and some really nice guns. My memory is a mess so I don't remember if you could order just clothes from the oficcial site? And I also wondered if any of you have imported toy guns to your country and have problems with that? Because Ringdoll has a big scary disclaimer about that. What are your experiences?

Other than that I'm really looking forward to work with my bjd's and hang out here on DoA much more than I've done the last year.

I've never ordered just clothes from Ringdoll, but I've done random accessory/parts orders no problem so I'm sure clothes would be the same. I've also ordered guns for my guys (not from RD) a couple times, buuuuuuuuuuut I live in a country with disturbingly regular mass shootings and farcical gun control laws, so....
But anywho, welcome back (again) and I can't wait for you to spam your vamp mob boss

Charadas, I ordered a pistol from them, but they are mistook and sent an automate to me. Everything was OK.

It took many months for the pistols to be made, there was nothing in my order but 2 pistols.
I ordered them on June 7 2018 and it shipped on March 15 2019

I used a calculator to exclude weekends and holidays for China and that brings it to 192 business days to finish 2 pistols.

They were nice guns, great quality and paint but the wait is something you should know about before placing the order

@GreenTeaSlug that was a looooong wait for two guns I think I'm going to be brave and order everything I need, including the guns, anyway. Keep your fingers crossed they'll move a teensy little bit faster this time

 

@GreenTeaSlug I'm about 192 business day waiting for my tan high heel feet as well. Order in Aug 2018... Seem like all orders no matter how small get treated like a full doll. No news of when it will even come and at this point I feel like every time I talk about Ringdoll I always mention about my heels

 

Does anyone have a Ringdoll LAW style B? I really want to see some owner photos.

 

I was surprised, too, and significantly disappointed. I vowed not to order from them again until (or IF) I get the Ashford I ordered in December. Law was one of my favorite sculpts; I had really hoped to get him.

Maybe it was a wise decision to discontinue at least one of their somewhat recent, popular sculpts. It might mean they'll be slightly faster if they don't have so many options.

Is there a general wig size that fits the grown size dolls? I'm having last minute thoughts of getting a new wig/hairstyle for S and I don't really know what size would fit the best.

Also, a few more pictures of Victory have been shown recently! I hope his outfit can be bought separately because I definitely want it!!

 

8-9 wig size for most of the grown heads, 8" are best if you can find them.

Hiho trying to get a bit more active with my dolls and I am nearly finish with costumize my very first one. A RD Norman, soon as I saw him I felt in love!

 

I am using Epoxy ^^

 

His eyes are amazing just needing a bit brighter green cat eye .
He has some scars on his back I need to color match these and some tattoos then I should be finish with him. Sadly I haven't much time cause work atm.

 

It looks like Ringdoll announced that they'll be opening orders for 15 fullsets of Alice 01 but it looks like it's limited to Tmall? Will Tmall orders have a layaway option as well?

 

Yeah same... I have this project laying around... than his boyfriend needs a face up... and a body XD
Than I have a Ringdoll Frankenstein laying around too waiting for a completely paint job
When everything goes well I will have some time and energy the next two month to start with the rest.

I found Help in a other post, someone else had the problem too and ask how he can solve them. I found a good method. I will Prepare a post in the journal in 6 to 8 hours

 

Orders for Victory start on June 20th. I can't wait to see more of him (particularly the outfit )!

 

@Maechen Ooh, can't wait for the full Victory reveal! I'm probably not gonna order him (no, definitely not, one nearly year long wait is enough for a lifetime), but I always love seeing the characters and stories of the Ring Imperium

@bickazer I definitely won't be ordering him as well. If his outfit looks as good as I hope it will be and can be bought separately, I will be getting it for my S. Also, congrats on finally getting your Ashford EVO! He looks so great.

It's an fblive I did all over my house so I'm reserving that for irl friends for privacy reasons but I'll definitely do a proper less hectic one where I'm not screaming every 5seconds in the vid X'D
He's been checked for all fingers and toes and inventoried but undressed atm. I'll wait for work to get to a lull to settle him in and give him a proper naming ceremony~

Ahhh! I really like Victory's outfit... It's definitely my style. Victory himself does look nice but he's not really my type.

Edit: I'm considering Dracula in tan once I get S. I'm still thinking about it...

 

I bought this uniform last week and just now getting Aalon into it. I did some work on the sash to make it 'his' uniform. He is an Earth Demon so green makes sense for him to wear. Surveying the healthy greenness of his home. He is weird for a demon .

I wanted to get this last summer but couldn't afford it but I finally got it and Warren's suit. Eozahl is wearing that suit now. I'll get photos of him soon. The uniform and suit are beautifully made but if Ash/Aalon and Evz/Eozahl weren't RGMbody-1 they wouldn't fit in the uniform. Judge, on the 3 body, won't be borrowing it. Warren's suit's pants and shirt are big except for the top coat which is very tight around the waist with the vest on. I don't think the Judge will be borrowing this one either.

So Victory is here and honestly, I'm a little underwhelmed...? I dunno. Seems his fullset is limited to only 60 and his outfit can't be gotten separately, but (like always.... ) I prefer some of the other ones we saw in the design sketches. This one seems kinda...more matador than military. Well, guess I'm safe. XD

 

I guess I won't be getting Victory's outfit... Oh, well.

Nice to see how well made the Ashford uniform is I ordered one in anticipation to the Vampire Hunter D release (if it ever happens)

Loved the box opening, the faceup looks amazing and insanely detailed! I was worried maybe they changed their artists because I didnt like Rinku's faceup .........

He looks great! The tailoring team on Ringdoll are so impressive, I love all the details and how well everything fits

 

They are wonderful. I have 6 of their fullset outfits, each one is beautifully made.
Ash in Warren's suit with his accessories I bought when Warren was first introduced. Alistair, RD Raven on a RD teen body, is perfect for the small Steam engineer.

Ringdoll recently posted a video of the new quality control system and packaging process. This is to show the change in speed for prepping an order for shipping its about an hour and thirty minutes to I will say two hours depending upon how much sanding/fine detail cleaning is required during QC.
I do like the method it can insure all orders are correct and to standard before going out the door now if the order sheet checklist is missing anything....welp the responsibility is to the order prepping person and made the list

 

I love all the new dolls but I'm not in the market for any of them. Kind of makes me sad but I don't have room for them and at the moment don't need to switch anyone out.

 

Have the Wei Wuxian dolls already started being shipped out or is that only for China? I see a lot of photos of the Wei Wuxian doll on Ringdoll's weibo.

 

Wei Wuxian was only available in China. If someone outside China has one, they used a proxy.

 

Wei Wuxian and Lan Wangji were available internationally through the Ringdoll website. They weren't restricted.
