Oh, this just tickles me to death! I adore all your boys so much...they have such awesome characters and styling. You have an amazing artistic eye for pulling each one stylistically into a unique and colorful character.

 

What an adorable pair!!! I love them! Thank you for your suggestions, too. I hadn't even considered Iplehouse JIDs. Will have to add 'em to my list of potentials.

Popping in to add some couple spam. I've been so busy lately I haven't had time to follow the thread, let alone take new pics. Here's one of Ashley and Shauna from last summer. Ashley is a Han and Shauna is a BBB Tony/Dollzone hybrid. Most of the others have partners, too. I could take shots for reference if anyone is interested, but they're all pretty much paired with other RS dolls. Might not be super helpful if you're looking to mix and match companies.

I haven't posted in here in a million years! I don't think I've ever posted Juniper (RS Ju), and I should update with some new photos of Grey (RS Song) cause he just got his proper clothes!!

Admittedly, I'm spending most of my time in the Facebook groups these days, along with tumblr and Instagram...

 

Oh, Wow! I love that picture. I cannot wait for my RS Ju to arrive in a few weeks. Then I will be able to take a couple's pic of her and my green Sui. Thanks for sharing!

 

Very late but wow I love your dolls! RS company photos never do these two enough justice, they might have just popped up to the top of my list.

 

Just recently fixed up my RS Lan a bit~ I made her dress and did her faceup, and her wig just came in yesterday

 

I snapped a photo of my Resinsoul Ju today so I could finally make her doll profile. Been ages since I took a new picture of her so I figured I'd share here, too:



If anyone is wondering, the backdrop is actually a beautiful roll of wrapping paper I found at my local dollar store---I love it to bits. Poor girl still needs boots after owning her for six years (but to be fair I've tried at least three pairs and she vetoed every last one of 'em, heh). My goal is to get her proper shoes by the end of the year, no matter how many pairs it takes!

Her wig looks great! I also love her eye makeup.

Thank you muchly! I painted her nails and dyed her wig, myself. As for her lips, many moons ago @Botflybaby was able to achieve the exact look I wanted (I asked for zebra stripes)!

I think I may have found a snazzy pair of boots for my RS Ju, but I'm worried they may be too big/clunky (that has happened to me with two pairs already). Does anyone happen to know if these would fit well?

And you're welcome RE: the background tip. My favorite backgrounds for 1/4 dolls include wrapping paper, scrapbook paper, and---if you can believe it---gift bags! Lots of vibrant patterns and colors to choose from, although someday I'd like to move up in the world and create dioramas to use for settings.

Hello everyone. I'm new here, so I thought I'd stop by and introduce my Mei. Her name is Deyleria. She is the only doll I have and I've had her for 3 years already. I researched dolls for 10 years before I actually got one. She was recently the victim of my first attempt at a faceup, too.

 

Holy canoli, It's been a looooong, loooooooooooooooooooong time since I've been here. I had put away my dolls for a long time due to family illnesses, moving multiple time across the country, and other fun life things.
I'm looking to get back into the hobby, but alas, all my doll clothes have gone missing! (bi-product of moving 4 times)
Now, if i remember correctly, getting clothes to fit our lovely dolls can prove to be annoying (especially shoes!)
So i'm going to be lurking here a bit, but not posting many pictures of Lola (my RS Ya in Tan), because she is naked, lol. might make her some dresses, see how my sewing skills have fared after 4 years.
Wish me luck! Also, it's nice seeing so many familiar faces!

I guess I can post the last picture I had posted of Lola, Though she's yellowed a bit more since, otherwise her faceup is still the same :3

 

I think her face-up looks great! I'm a sucker for smokey eye make-up.

@PeppermintPocky , ah, she's killing it. I love her style. I can't wait for my Ju to arrive. I just finished the layaway and the order should be shipped any day now. Can I request some more pics of your gorgeous Smyth while I wait for mine to arrive? Also, those are awesome boots, but they look like they'll be about .5cm longer than her foot. I usually pack a little bit of foam into the toes or heels of shoes for my girls to make up for the extra room. I'd message the shop to see if they could give you a measurement for the top part of the boot to compare to her leg, just to make extra sure.

@kumagoro4ever , Deyleria is beautiful! I love how her dark faceup compliments those bright eyes. I also love the lashes you used. Where did you get them?

@Choubliss , she's so cute!! I have some clothing from when I had my single jointed Mei that I have no use for. PM me and I will send them along to you as a gift just so your girl can have something to wear while you shop and sew.

@PeppermintPocky - Thank you. I never wear makeup myself, so I went in blind on how to apply it. I'm just lucky it turned out ok. haha

@Maxtastic - Thank you to you, too. Her eyes are actually my favorite part. I got the eyelashes from Dollmore. These ones in particular.

 

Nabi and Gwen look amazing as usual, @Maxtastic! I love the bold colors you choose for your crew. Thank you for the tip regarding the boots I'm eyeing---I'll take your advice and contact the company to inquire about the height. Totally hadn't considered that before.

And thanks also for your kind words on my girl! She has a lot of spunk, that's for sure. I hope your RS Ju ships soon! I can't wait to see what you have planned for her.

Before anyone asks, no, they aren't a couple... that's not to say they don't have some sort of history, though.

 

I can't remember where I got the wig, but I think it was from a website that had a lot of items to make custom stuffed animals as well (like bead eyes, etc.). It was also really cheap too, if I remember correctly, somewhere between $7.00-$15.00 USD. The only thing is it does shed easily, so I never combed it often, instead used a dryer sheet on it, lol.

I stumbled across her on Flickr when I was looking around for reference pics of Ju, and she just wedged herself into my head xD She's part of the inspiration behind my RS Ai as well actually (I keep meaning to buy Camden some fishnet dresses)

I think the photo I stumbled across on Flickr just called her "Smyth", and I assumed it was an awesome first name xD

Soooooooo, I just received my layaway order and everything was amazing, as always. I'll post pics when I get their faceups done. Buuut, I asked Sun if they were going to release any new 1/4 dolls soon and the answer was yes, within the next 2 months. Girl dragon this time?? I wonder if they'll finally release the 1/4 jointed hands too. I'm really excited to see what they've been working on!

After searching for the perfect shoes for 5+ years, my girl finally has a pair all her own! Took me a few tries but I'm pleased as punch now.



They fit Resinsoul girls perfectly! If anyone is looking for boots in white, black, or brown, here's a link! I removed the bows from mine because they just made Smyth snarl.

OMG, within the next 2 months?! That's pretty darn exciting! And they've got their 10 year anniversary sale coming up in October!! AHHHHH, resisting new RS dolls is gonna be SO HARD

I really hope they release 1/4 jointed hands as well, because I'll buy at least one pair for Grey, and then when I order the Drow I'll definitely get a couple pairs.

I'm so glad you posted that link, cause I started looking around the site and I think I may have just found Grey's boots!! THESE are perfect!!! I might even get them in both colours!!
And they have the heels I want for cheaper than where I was going to get them!

I won't be doing her faceup myself (ZERO artistic talent), but she's pastel goth. I haven't totally settled on what her faceup is going to look like. At first I was thinking about lavender, mint & sky eyeshadow, trying to keep her eyeliner fairly thin, but with wingtips, and a pastel lip colour (I think I settled on lavender), buuuut I'm starting to think I might want something a little darker. I really don't know, I'm kinda having trouble with it.

Sui (you were right) is pretty darn cool, but I'm really not sure what I'd do with a dragon doll. I really hope they release a female counterpart, and I'd be so curious to see a new MSD girl sculpt from them ^^

 

I love those boots you picked out for Grey! They are a teeny-tiny bit wider than the pair I bought, but I'm assuming the boy RS foot is a little bigger than the girl's. I bet they'll look great on him. M-Style quality is pretty good---I've bought numerous pairs from them over the years.

What a pretty color palette! Have you considered going for a pastel lip color with a darker lip liner (since you're toying with the idea of going for a darker shade)? I don't know if that's necessarily "pastel goth" but it's a trend I remember vividly from my grungy '90s youth. I plan to do that with my Mystic Kids Lillian once I'm brave enough to touch her up.

 

Ooohhh I'll have to check out boots later! I bought Tripp some ages ago that turned out to be huge on her XD
I think @Beansproutmomo has an interesting idea with the lip liner! But I can't wait to see all the beautiful pastel colours on Juniper, however you do it she is so pretty!

 

Hey everyone, I am a long-time follower of this thread even though I don't have a RS Mini doll yet and I have a question for you lovely people. I plan to order a Qing on Li's body soon but I am still unsure about her hands. Can I ask for hand spam, preferably the female hands? I really like Lu's hands but I don't know if they would look too small on Li's body. Does anyone have that hybrid? Thanks in advance and please keep spamming your lovely boys and girls!

Here you go @Zomboid ! Tripp has Lu hands on a Rong body, which I believe is the same as Li except for bust size?Though the wrists are a touch different in size (more apparent in a side view) it's not very noticeable. I adore them, they are so elegant and expressive!

 

Thank you so much! That's exactly what I wanted to see, they look really good proportionally! I really like Li's hands also but wanted something more elegant, like you said. Ahh I can't wait to finally order my girl, it's been some months since I was last inspired to do anything doll related but now I'm on a kick again. I have only had Resinsoul bodies until now and Bobobie heads so I'm really looking forward to own a RS head aswell. Your Tripp really brought back my love for the Pixie sculpt btw, Nyxy. She was one of the first BBB dolls that caught my eye.
