Nvm I went ahead and ordered elf Camilla in grey :)

    2. I ordered my first Racoon Doll! Elf Erika in Sweet Mocha.

    3. I ordered the original slim body with the small bust. Hopefully I will be able to make her decent fittting clothes once she gets here.

    4. @Leo Pheonix - That's a combination I haven't tried, but I don't imagine it will be hard to make or find clothes that fit. I look forward to seeing Elf Erika.

    5. Here is my grey Kai with my milk mocha elf Lea.

    6. @Patrice S - Both Kai and Camilla look better here than in their Raccoon sale photos. If doll makers showed their dolls to better advantage, I'd have a much larger collection today. Wait a minute--that's not necessarily a good thing. How could I afford so many dolls? Where would I put them all? :aeyepop:

    7. Patrice S, your elf Lea is so delicate and beautiful! It made me regret not getting her.. but now the sale's ended :doh:eek: so I shall have to continue enjoying seeing your wonderful photos instead :D Your Kai is so stunning in grey! Raccoon guys are totally fabulous aren't they (that's probably why I have three of them! Can't get enough!).

    8. Thanks vermont chic and LilyAndRuby. I really like how both of them turned out.

    10. @MB Lilac Gorgeous picture! I love all the details in your photos so much! :D :D And I still think that her skin tone photographs very well - she has that soft glow that is usually achieved with thick layer of makeup on human models... The funny fact is - on humans it does not look as good in "real life", but less highlight works wonders for cameras. That skin tone may have similar effect on a doll.
In any case - she looks radiant in this pic, love it! :)

    11. Thank you. I have that castle interior set up on my dining room table at the moment for another story, and have been photographing other dolls at that window because the lighting is just so beautiful.

I find Rosie's resin colour photographs better than it looks in real life. I think she may be nicer once I get her body blushed and a manicure done, but I wasn't sure I was going to keep her, so never bothered.

    12. I love that dress! Was the fabric fron a sari?

    13. Yes, but it was a really small one, because I used up all the fancy edging. Maybe it was just a head covering? I had to embroider the front of the bodice to match....

It's actually made for an FID, and it has snaps up the back, so I sewed some little loops on the back so that it can be laced up tighter for the Raccoon ladies.

      • x 8
    14. @MB Lilac The matching embroidery is awesome! It's rather satisfying to use all of something.

    15. I decided not to buy that Steeze Rosie this time and stick with finishing my other fashion-sized gals (and that one guy) instead. I'll use some money for ordering stuff from SartoriaJ so Nicholai finally gets his winter jacket - and maybe one of those nice biker jackets for Alice or Claire. Or both of them. :)

    16. @MB Lilac Your Roise is gorgeous as is her gown.

    17. @MB Lilac Your photos always leave me in awe - every detail is perfect!

I took my first photos of my new Monica today. She is my first Raccoon doll and I'm enjoying her immensely.

    18. Hmac58 Congratulations! Your Monica is amazing. Does she have the new Slim body v2? I love the autumnal colours of your photo.

    19. @Hmac58 Your Monica is lovely! Congrats!

    20. @nancy_schroeder_ca - Thanks. Yes, it's nice to use something up completely. Thankfully it was just a small item, nowhere near the size of regular saris.
@Patrice S - Thank you. I've been having trouble bonding with her, so she's currently an 'odd woman out' along with one of my FIDs, whose in the same boat.
@Hmac58 - Thank you. Your Monica is beautiful. Monica was my first as well. She's my favourite of all the Raccoon ladies.

    21. @LilyAndRuby Thank you! It is the new slim body and I love how it looks and poses.

@Patrice S and @MB Lilac Thank you so much. I'm happy to finally be able to participate in this thread after following it for so long.

    23. She's beautiful, @Patrice S. I like the sweater dress and the jewellery that you put with it.

    24. Thanks Hmac58!

    25. So, I know this gets asked from time to time, but most of the answers I found are outdated and sellers are no longer active, so time to ask again I guess - eyes? I have a bunch of Glib glass ones and I'm althou aware of this seller Doll eyes OOAK dolls wings accessories for craft by DOLLines and I belive the 8mm with small iris from this seller should work? AllThatGlittersEyes on Etsy Are there any more cool eye artists I'm missing? :)

    26. @Sshodan I have DOLLines eyes for my Alice (Nina) and I got her custom 7mm ones. Imho, the iris size with these is perfect, but 8mm with small or normal iris works pretty well, too.

Here's a pic of Alice with the 7mm eyes:

    27. @Khell She looks fantastic with thous! :) The color is very nice!

    28. I haven't ordered from DOLLines before. Can someone who has please tell me what the pin option is? (With pin/ No pin) What does that refer to? Their colors are so lovely. I'd like to try something other than Glib for a change.

    30. Thanks! I saw the stem but thought all the flat eyes had it. It didn't occur to me that we could choose to have it or not. It doesn't appear to make any difference in the cost. I'll try them.

    31. The pin helps, I believe, in positioning the eye in the socket. For these smaller eyes I believe it is a handy option to have. :)

    32. It's very handy. I have some glass eyes with stems. They allow me to change the eyes' direction without removing the putty. I just never heard them referred to as pins before. Totally threw me for a loop.

    33. @Sshodan
Thanks! They're perfect for her, both in size and colour. I was lucky to discover that shop on Etsy! :)

    34. I'm just wondering if anybody else ordered the new Ken sculpt? If so, have you received him yet? I have him on order and I'd love to see owner pics. Thanks in advance :)

    35. Hi Everyone, I just found this thread. I am working on Gene's wardrobe. I dug into my stash of rare textiles and have (resentfully) decided to share a piece with her. Honestly, you'd think I'd get over being so greedy. Ah, well. Anyway, should I keep this short, or go ahead and put a long, flowing skirt under the lace?

    36. I think I'd like it both ways...perhaps you could make the long part removable so she has some flexibility :) She looks very pretty!

I just popped by to share Lara who has just had her face up finished...she's on the new slender body, medium bust and in mocha. I love this skintone :)

    37. Lyanne, your Lara is lovely.

    38. @LyanneNZ Thank you for sharing her! Lara is the sculpt I'm waiting for and I don't seam to find a lot of owner pictures around - I love seeing thous since it helps me figure out what I want to do with my girls face up :) Your girl is gorgeous! :)

    39. I've been looking into Racoon Doll lately, and am particularly fond of their elves. Does anyone know when/if their limited dolls ever go back on sale? It looks like the one I like the most (Elf Branden) went on sale earlier this year, but I missed it.

    40. Thanks Patrice and Sshodan! I hope you love your Lara when she arrives (I have no doubt you will!) It's a lovely sculpt...plenty of scope on her eyelids for paintwork and those luscious full lips too. She was fun to paint! I will get some more photos taken soon and share her some more. She needs some new wigs and eyes ;) They all do!

@faerie_bard keep watching Raccoon doll's site and I am sure the elves will be offered again. Yes, they offer their limited sculpts again. Hope you get one soon!

    41. @faerie_bard Raccoon Doll usually does a holiday sale in late November so I'd look then. Mr. Choi has recently posted pics of a new Bebe head and body so I'm guessing they'll be coming next on sale.

    42. @Frillseeker - That's a lovely piece of lace, perfectly suited to my all-time favorite Raccoon sculpt, Gene. I agree with @LyanneNZ that a removable long skirt would look great and extend the outfit's versatility.

      @LyanneNZ - Great job on your Lara's faceup! That's quite a come-hither stare.

I've been struggling with Steeze Rosie's milk mocha resin, which tends to look dull in photos. It's difficult to find a good color for her to wear. I crocheted a dress and jacket in fall colors, then photographed it in front of a background in shades of gray, thinking that would get the best color out of the doll and outfit. It almost works?

    43. @LyanneNZ ,@vermont chick

That has been a consistent vote, so I’ll do a detached underskirt. I wonder if I’d have thought of that without input.
Re the eyes, it sure is easier to position those little stinkers with a pin on the back. My dolls better be nice to me, or they may wind up cross-eyed. :)

Love the dress, Vermont Chick, so cozy and well fitted. Her skin tone may dictate a platinum blonde or very dark, no red tones wig. That would be nature’s favorite choice.

@LyanneNZ Lara is gorgeous, did you do the faceup?

    44. @Frillseeker - I never thought of either platinum or very dark color for Rosie, but I have both and will try them on her. I need to find something that works because I've got another milk mocha girl on order: Rina.

Glad you like the dress/jacket combo!

    47. Your Rosie is lovely!

I made some mini journals/notebooks spurred on my a doll-friend who had also made one. I went looking at tutorials both here and on Youtube. Now I feel like I have the bug to make more miniatures :) In the meantime though Lara wanted to relax with them...

@LyanneNZ - Thanks. Your Lara looks perfect, relaxing with those great books. Making books can be a bit time consuming, but it's so worth it in the end.

    49. Those look great, @LyanneNZ !
I am awed by your sewing skills @MB Lilac !
I hope my first doll this size gets to me before Christmas. I should make a basic outfit for her, so she has something to wear when she gets here.

    50. It is lovely to see one of your outfits up close to be able to see all the tiny details! So creative and so clever to source all the fabrics and notions to all work in like that! They must take you so many hours to make! Even her crown is so full of detail! Very beautiful!

    51. @LyanneNZ Your notebooks are terrific! And your Lara is so gorgeous.
@MB Lilac That is such a gorgeous costume and perfect on your Monica.

My Ellio came on Saturday and he is just fabulous.

    52. I... I can't read 48 pages. I tried. I've got a custom 3D-printed head coming to me and I want it on the Raccoon Doll male body. The thing is skin tone. My creator needs to know what resin to print the head in to make a close match, so I need advice.

This is the character he'll become.

I don't want the doll to look paper white, but the character is cursed to have frozen skin. What would you guys suggest for this? Normal Skin with blushing to achieve the frozen look or White Skin with blushing to make it look less... paper white? HAAALP!

    55. @Bishounen_Hideto
I would definitely take the white skin. Raccoon's isn't paper white, and it's always easier to go from light to dark. As in, blushing it here and there to add some healthy glow is waaaay easier than trying to blush lighter an already peachy doll.
Here's a picture of their skintones: Skin color comparisonGallery& blank heads - RACCOON DOLL

I got a question myself: has anyone managed yet to get a black wool coat for one of their guys? I checked out the usual places (Sartoria, etsy, Iplehouse FID, Raccoon itself) and I can't find anything so far.
I have this guy twice, once on the Raccoon body and once as an Iplehouse EID. I'd like to have some of his outfits for his mini version too, but that coat seems to be hard to get. His big version currently uses one from Freedom Teller (this one: [Freedom Teller*] BJD Handmade Doll Boutique), and I'd like something similar for the small version :(

    56. Hello everyone from Lucy!
Lucy's nose was reduced and a new faceup was made. I think green eyes suit her the most. She has got a little vintage look.

    57. That coat from Freedom Teller is superb! I haven't seen anything like this for the smaller guys but hope someone can help.

Your Lucy is lovely! She is so real looking. Great job on the nose reduction.
