New thread! I wanted to thank those who were kind enough to comment on my last photos....the thread ran out before I could reply properly.

@luluna - My girls are about to move in on my FID guys, too. They look good together.

 

Keybanu was neglected (I have too many dolls ) but she got requested on my IG soooo...

 

I hope my Mika's friend will arrive soon, she keeps looking over my shoulder at all these handsome guys everyone else has..

Can anyone tell me, please, what does "queued for shipment" order status mean? I can remember someone asked this question before but I can't find it in the thread.

 

It should mean it's ready to go. If they create their shipping labels online, that's the final step before the shipping service picks it up. Your status will probably change to "Shipped" tomorrow.

 

How long does RD take to fill an order (generally)? I have two dolls on layaway (I'm selling not buying) and I'm thinking I need to just bite the bullet and get a blank Lucy. She would totally work for one of my characters...

 

If there's no event going on, about a month. Can take up to 6 weeks when they're busy. Blank may come faster. I can't say for sure as all of mine have come with face-ups.

Wow, they are fast! It's a month and a half since I ordered a body in milk mocha.

 

I've got Billie (my Milk Mocha Lucy) halfway paid off now. I'm hoping I can get her paid off fully by next month since that's my birthday month and she's my birthday present to myself. I also asked and they said they'll pierce her ears for me free! So yay! I'm thinking it'll probably look like she's got gauged ears, since TINY EARS, but still, she'll be able to wear earrings and the gauged look works with her character.

 

What is going on lately? I know a lot of people that sold their raccoons. Dunno if they don`t like them anoymore or just need money. Or is it the wish to get something different?

To those who have both: which dolls do you like better? Iple FID or Racoon?

 

I only found two in the marketplace here. There are lots of reasons people sell dolls. They may have overspent or just want a different face or color.

 

Buying a doll is like getting married. As the saying goes: Marry in haste, repent at leisure. Same for dolls: Buy in haste, regret at leisure. Sometimes people rush to buy a doll and then find a later sculpt that they like better so they sell the first one. Or they may have bought a doll and then found they didn't like the size after all. Like @nancy_schroeder_ca says, there are lots of reasons.

I have both FID and Raccoon and like them both. In my opinion FID girls are slightly better at posing. (Can't compare the men until Raccoon releases his.) I recently ordered my sixth Raccoon girl and haven't felt the need to sell any of them, although I've had second thoughts about two of my FIDs--but not to the point where I'd sell either one of them--yet.

 

I like both. I only have one Raccoon doll at the moment but have found that I really enjoy her. I love his face sculpts but I confess I prefer the FID body better both for its looks and its poseability. Having said that its nice to have a different one too. I wish the wrists could hold a pose and that the elbows could bend and hold a pose more too.

 

I really like that Raccoon and FID women can co-exist so happily in a collection and so enjoy seeing the photos on these forums. So far the Raccoon sculpts have appealed far more to me personally and the only FID woman I own is Mari, also obviously the work of Sang Yoon in his Iple days. Having got one FID man I'm not really tempted to get any more at the moment, although I'm intrigued to see what the new releases will be like. I'm really hoping that Raccoon Doll will bring something different to the male range as it would be good to be able to mix things up a bit.

 

just wondered cause a friend of mine received her first fid girl and hates the raccoons now. Strange thing- cause she was so happy with the raccoons in the beginning.
For my taste, the iple fid ladies pose a bit better and I better like the hand and feet of those, but the raccoons are still lovely

But as Iple releases the next fid round, Mr. Raccoon shut hurry up with the males not not to miss more time I think

 

I like them both of them and although I find the FID body a little more aesthetically pleasing, it's all about the facial sculpt. That's why I've got Rosie and Breeze Gene on order right now.

 

I love my Raccoon Mika, she is sweet and cute with the faceup I gave her, but she was lonely and wanted a boyfriend. So my FID Rex is on his way home. I am liking this mature mini size more and more, cause the SD size is giving my back a unpleasant workout.

 

I'm in the minority, I guess because while I like both, I seem to like the Raccoon girls a bit more. All I need is a change of hands to JID and I'm set. I think for me it's because the RD body reminds me of an SID body more. Neither FID or RD are "perfect" to me, there are things I'd change on both.

 

As for me, I love both, and I love that they have different body types. It keeps things from looking too cookie cutter. I'm not sure how the posing is yet on the raccoon girls cause I'm still a couple months off on getting mine, but I'm sure I'll love her just as much as I love Echo (My FID Raffine).

It's TRUE. I really want to see what these Raccoon boys look like so I can spend more money >__<. I am determined not to get any more dolls after Billie till they're out. Really. Why doesn't anyone believe me??

 

I really need the Raccoon boys to come out to break up my FID clone army a little. Even if they're also a bit on the muscular side, they can't have the exact same build, can they?

Come on, Raccoon. I can only hold off on buying another FID Man for so long...

 

I hope they are not as muscular as the FID-guys... so lets stop the muscle-clone-army

 

Rosie's launch event ends Friday--two days from now. Raccoon is still not showing anything new for when that event ends. Men, maybe? Please? I'm also hoping for relief from the FID muscle clone army. I know FIDs are supposed to have model bodies, but how about a real model body? A bit slimmer and looking like he doesn't spend every spare moment in the gym.

 

i really hope it works. Cause I know... when I have a fid girl again she does not want to stay single. And as I don`t want Johnny from the Gym (sorry, but the fid guys are too muscular for my taste) I really hope for the Raccoon males

Well, I'm still on the fence myself - not sure if I should get a Nana to go with Gabe (my FID guy) or Lucy to be a totally different character... I'm leaning more towards Lucy as I think Gabe needs some time alone to grow before he's stuck with a girl LOL
PS: I don't have either female but aesthetically speaking- I like the Raccoon girl body better. FID gals have amazing legs but I like the smaller upper torso of the RD and I like her smaller (though I'd prefer even smaller) bust and shorter stature.
PPS: I'm dying to see a RD guy too!!!

Reminds me of the iple nyid I think cause it has wider hips and a slimmer waiste. The fid is bit more athletic. And the posability of the Raccoons ellbowes is more limited than the ones of the fid
But I know what you mean- its more soft and female than the fid
with that curvy attitude I love at my nyid Iple girls

 

Yes, I prefer the slim body with the small bust. Nothing against the wider hips and thighs of the Glamorous body but I am not fond of how skinny it makes the waist look. Just my personal preference
Sad to hear about the elbow joints though I wonder if wiring might help...

 

Question for you all - I haven't ordered from Raccoon before or watched his website for long, so I don't know what's normal for him. Does he periodically rerelease those sculpts that aren't available as basics? I like the look of Daisy but she's listed as sold out, and I really need a slimmer girl to balance out my man-heavy fashion-sized collection.

 

Yes, he does but there's no set schedule.

 

@Saphariel - Sometimes the sculpts come back with different face-ups. If you look at his Limiteds, Daisy first came out as Bellis and Anthemis. She was later re-released as Makeover Daisy. Sia also came back in a Makeover edition. And Laetitia was re-released in a Dark Mocha version.

@Patrice S is right. There is no telling when a sculpt will be back. I guess that's how he keeps us hooked.

If you are interested in a specific doll being re-released, you should ask on their Q&A board. If enough people ask, they will know there is interest. When I asked about Traditional Gene, they told me approximately when she would be re-released and she was!

 

Raccoon said Daisy would be available again in July, so maybe that means a new round of faceups... and no boys. He chose not to answer my question about when the boys might be released.

 

He didn't answer me the time I asked about the boys, either. Looks like I'll be spending my doll money elsewhere for now.

 

We need some pictures among our Raccoon doll-discussions I finally ordered Rosie before the ordering period ended and if Daisy is coming up again I might be in more trouble again soon! Haha...

I just got the shipping notice for my Breeze Gene in milk mocha plus my dark mocha Daisy head which Raccoon had to redo is shipping with it.

I've just received my Nina and I really like her. I don't have a FID yet because Iplehouse hasn't brought one out with a sculpt I want yet. I would like Bibiane. For me the face sculpt matters most. I bought FID hands, because I do prefer those hands. If I do buy a FID girl too, I think it will be nice to have two slightly different bodies.

My Nina is bald at the moment, as I forgot to get a wig cap, so her one wig won't stay on! She's still lovely though and came with the brown eyes I wanted. I'm going to order some Monique wigs. Should I order the 5-6 size or 6-7? The hooks on her hands and feet are so small! I lost the elastic up inside one leg, when I was changing her feet. Luckily, it stopped at the knee, so it wasn't too hard to reattach her leg and foot! Hopefully, I've loaded the picture correctly.

Given that Raccoon answered my inquiry two days ago and said that Daisy would be out next month, my money says the girls will get rereleased without any boys. I specifically asked if the boys would be out "soon" so I could order one with Daisy so he couldn't copy/paste the answer that other people have been getting, but he didn't acknowledge it.

More photo spam, please! It has been a little quiet in here.

The first milk mochas should be arriving home if you just got a shipping notice, right @Patrice S ? I hope owners will provide photos or comparison shots! I'm really curious what it looks like by comparison.

I'm still waiting for my milk mocha Steeze Rosie. I suspect the free mani/pedi might be slowing things down at his end.

@Mara Jade - Order size 5/6 in Monique wigs. The 6/7 will be way too big. I've had leg elastics go up the doll's leg when changing feet, too. Wait until you have a tiny s-hook shoot across the room and you have to go searching for it!

Then you add square bracket, then IMG, then closed square bracket at the front and then after the piece above you add square bracket, forward slash and then closed square bracket. I will put a little tutorial note on my Flickr like I did for Prego

I too received a shipping notification for a milk mocha body yesterday. That "queued for shipping" status didn't change for almost three weeks. I'm going to take this body for summer vacation with me to make patterns. It's a shame to leave a new doll behind if it's only a body
