Planetdoll 41cm, 43cm and 45cm Discussion Part 2

Yeah, I paid for the shipping, & it does look like tracking may not be working well. Its been two working weeks, and the online tracking says it still hasn't left Korea or moved since Planetdoll's drop off point.
I messaged them to check to make sure everything was alright & that nothing was overlooked. Still awaiting their response.

 

Hey guys, I still haven't managed to sort out my Emma's boy body :/ His girl body's been in a box, too, but I took it out and put him back on it today. I kinda think he might keep it... sand down the breasts, possibly bandage and/or body blush... maybe with scars xD make it look proper transgender... Idk yet.
But he's actually wearing his old girl wig too, it's cool that I can now look at him on the girl body with "Emily's" wig and still see Eddie. ^ - ^

 

Hi everyone! Enjoying looking at your lovely Planetdolls and wondering... what do you all think of the new double-jointed body as opposed to the older single-jointed? I just receive a new one and I see where they were going with it... It's not really that it's wrong... but I prefer the older one in almost every way.

 

I have not seen the new double-jointed body- but personally, I almost always prefer a single-jointed body because while it may not have as much mobility, it is usually prettier and more natural-looking.

 

As an artist I can definitely appreciate the effort they put into the new body. I just feel like they missed the mark on some of the aesthetics and functionality that are very obvious the moment you hold the doll - or it could be simply that my tastes just don't line up with theirs as well as they used to. I'm sure some folks will be very happy with the new body but for myself I preferred the bit younger styling of the old body and even loved the "dreaded cankles." LOL

I also did try out a PD Riz on the Dollstown 7yr body. I think it is a very good hybrid, however I will be sticking with the old PD body since I was thankfully able to find one. Here is the hybrid...

That was a very good review, thanks for posting that, Virginia! I prefer the older body- I think the lower joint gives the torso a more graceful bend, and I always found the "chunkiness" of planetdolls to be appealing and charming.

 

My thoughts exactly, cirquemom. They have the newer body with the lower torso joint option too, but it really isn't suited to the stringing style.

I've fallen in love with Riz and am wondering if anyone knows if the 41 bodies will be available again as I prefer more immature bodies? I couldn't find any info on the website. Out of the two 43 bodies which is the one with the double joints? If I have to get a 43 body, I'd rather it didn't have the big knee joints! Thanks .

I've really enjoyed looking at the photos here though they have only made me more impatient and I have a lot of saving up to do!

 

Jupeycat - You can still get the older 41cm bodies from dealers like DenverDoll and OobieDoll. I think that Planetdoll is only offering for now the double-jointed bodies now on 43cm, not the old, single-jointed ones. Don't know if they will revamp the 41 bodies to be double-jointed but it might also mean that they make it more mature too like they did when they revamped the 43cm ones.

 

Thank you for the info . I'm trying to figure out how big her chest would look in real life and whether I'd be ok with it or not. I bought a Souldoll the other year and her boobs were way too big so I don't want another shock like that one lol.

 

I got my planetdolls from Oobiedoll and love them. They are very friendly and nice, and I'm sure would be willing to help you and answer your questions. If you can't find the older body- you might check the marketplace, although I don't think people sell their planetdolls too often.

 

I'd also recommend Oobie Doll. They probably have some of the older bodies in stock still. I ordered my Roseanne from them and they were wonderful to work with.

 

I e-mailed them yesterday and they said they would check their stock. Trying not to get excited just yet!

 

Hi Jupeycat! I think you should still be able to order the 41cm body through Planetdoll themselves, as they are still selling Cindy and Katie. They don't have their pictures up, but I think that might have been so ever since they changed their site. And if they are still selling them, I think they'd sell you just a body too. Have you already asked them if you could order a 41cm body?
If you haven't got a Riz head yet, you could just ask for a Riz on a 41cm body. I've done this with all my Roseanne, Riz and Rina girls, because I prefer immature bodies (and especially theirs!) as well.

I'm hoping to get another Katie sooner or later, so I'll be asking them if they plan to keep selling the 41B body I love so much. (And I need an extra body for a DiM head as well.)

 

Wolfboy, I e-mailed Planetdoll after I read your comment and they said I could order the 41 body - thank you for letting me know. Oobie Doll does have some pink and white bodies in stock if anyone is interested but I wanted a tan girl so I've bought her straight from Planetdoll. I can't wait to get her!!

I e-mailed Planetdoll the other day just to see how my order was coming along as the website says it takes them 20 days to make the doll. They haven't replied. Is that normal for them?

 

@ Jupeycat. I dont know how long the waiting time is for PD, I asked a question thru my orderform, on the bottom you can ad a message it took PD 5 days to reply. I ordered 12-19-2014 a tan Riz with face up on the 41 cm body.

 

I'm ok with the wait (you get used to it :P), I was just worried that they hadn't replied. Yours should come home before mine, I'm looking forward to pics!!

A Mini Roseanne just turned up at my house this afternoon. These small girls are wonderful. I'm going to have a lot of fun finding a look for her. She's my first doll in this size.

I have just brought a secondhand Planetdoll Emma, I love the look of their little faces and couldn't resist this little girl. So I am looking for some advice about eye size, I can't seem to find any info about what size they need.

I also need to make her some clothes as all my other girls are slim MSD's so it will be hard to find something to fit her in their clothing collection.

 

I'm pretty sure I have 14mm in my Tara.

 

I always use 14mm eyes for the Planetdoll MSDs. Congratulations on your Emma!

I confirm, 14mm work well with Planetdolls. My Roseanne also has 14mm.

 

Hi everyone. I received my tan Riz girl yesterday and love her but she has hairline "cracks" at the back of her ears. Are they seamlines or do I need to contact Planetdoll?

I'll get a pic of her when her wig gets here, the poor thing is bald and refuses to have her photo taken! Her name is Catori and I'm already planning a sister for her...

P.S. She has 14 mm eyes and they look just right.

 

I would complain to planetdoll and show them photos. I think their new tan (or maybe all their new resins) are flawed. I worked on a tan (shown above) that had flaking resin inside the eye Wells! I didn't complain though because it was not my doll.

 

I think they are seam lines as there are very faint ones in exactly the same places on the other side. They are also raised like seam lines. I've just never seen them on a head before... I've sent the photo to planetdoll to check anyway.

 

Jupeycat those look like seam lines to me.

Sorry for the double post but I need some help . I'm so in love with my new girl that I'm trying to decide whether to get Roseanne or Emma in normal skin as her sister. I'm going to go back over this thread to look at photos but would appreciate opinions from people who own those dolls. Thanks!

 

I don't own Roseanne or Emma (I do own a Riz), but I've seen both IRL. I instantly fell in love with Emma, she has such a sweet face! A little shy. I love Roseanne too, allthough I didn't immediately fell in love with the blank version. But with the right face-up she is so expressive and gorgeous. She is on my wishlist

 

It's really difficult because they're all quite similar. I can't choose between them yet, I love them both.

 

Emma is more sweet and innocent. Roseanne can be sweet or more pouty or mature. I like Roseanne better personally and I think she has more range.

 

Today I got my Emilly head in yellow skin ... yellow skin of planetdoll is like impldoll pink skin. Head is light pink after will be light cream.
I plan buy impldoll 46 body, Will be it good?

Yep Planetdoll says they're seam lines which is fine. I'm so happy with my Riz too, they sent her with lovely brown sparkly eyes which are perfect and she has such a lot of character. I'm planning on getting a normal skin sister if I can still get the 41 cm body but I'm not sure whether to get the pink normal or the "normal" normal. I can't really find any decent comparisons.

I think Riz can also look older, depending on the faceup, but blank, she look younger to me, a little more sweeter and innocent. I really wanted a gumpycat, so I got Roseanne, but one day, I'll get a Riz, they're adorable!
