I have an Iphone 7 and really hate it I'm looking to get a new phone but I may as well get one with the best camera! Can people give me suggestions
Well, although I have a pretty current phone, I still keep my 14-year-old DSLR Nikon D50 for serious pictures...can't beat that tele. IMO, still a really good device. If you want a really good phone camera...maybe a Huawei P20?
If you're looking for a good camera phone, google pixel is probably the best. I'd also look for any phone that has two camera lenses on the non-selfie side. I think huawei has really good, pretty inexpensive phones considering the quality (about $300ish) too.
Ha, I have a Huawei P20 Pro and the camera is phenomenal (though I haven't photographed any dolls with it it). I'd say that you might have more success with your existing iPhone but shooting through an app like VSCO or even a beauty app like Meitu can give you some surprising results compared to just using the built-in iPhone camera app.
I have a Galaxy S9 I really like the camera quality! I normally use my Canon 77D but when I am lazy or just want a quick shot, I feel confident with my phone camera! here is a recent shot I took with my phone! (using natural light) I sharpened it in photoshop and increased the exposure a bit, I also added some lighting effects for fun :P but the nice depth of field blur is all natural, and the quality is pretty great for a phone camera!
If I recall correctly, the pixel is supposed to have the best camera across mobile devices. Personally I recently upgraded from the iPhone 6 to the X. The camera on the X is decent if you’re looking to stay with Apple. I can’t link to Flickr on mobile, but I took the profile picture for my doll Dagmar using the X, for reference.
Seconding this. I have had really good luck with my S9+ for pictures when I don't feel like pulling out my DSLR. Here is a picture I took with my Samsung S9+ phone: If you are looking for a cheaper option, my Motorola Moto X takes decent photos, though definitely not as good as the S9+ but the price is a whole lot better. It doesn't do well in low light though, but if you have good lighting it is just fine. Here is a photo with the Moto X:
I wanted the Google Pixel 3 to supplement my Samsung mirrorless camera, but the Pixel 3 is 4-6 weeks out for shipping! So last night I went to a local phone store and bought a USED Pixel 2 (128 GB) for $330. So far, the images are really great, especially with color correction in bad lighting.
I have a Galaxy S7 and the camera seems very nice (to me), so it seems like newer galaxy generations all have pretty good cameras. Also nice if you're used to Apple products because there are still a lot of accessories made for the galaxy line (though not as many as apple).
I use a Samsung Galaxy S7 edge and love it; when I upgrade I'll be buying another Samsung. My friend has the new iPhone and it takes great pictures and has a lot of memory. Have you tried apps like Snapseed for photo editing? Sometimes photos look better after color corrections and filtering.
I'll be using my Samsung S9+. This is the very first photo I've taken of my very first BJD who arrived today. For a very first photo, I'm happy. But I have a lot to learn.
What is it excactly that you do not like with the IP7? I use an IP 8 plus -and love it! I also use a Nikon DSLR, but since I got that 8Plus the Nikon is not my preferred choice for doll pics anymore.
I still use my Iphone, and it's a 6! If you use some editing apps, like meitu for instance, it can make a world of difference.
I just use my samsung galaxy s8 which works well my friend has a google pixel phone and that camera is amazing. I also have a digital SLR camara which is great if I can be bothered to grab it out haha.
I have an iPhone 8, and I think the camera will work fine once I get the lighting fixed in my apartment. I keep trying to take photos at home in the evening after work where I have no good light. I've heard that there are apps/settings you can tinker with to get better effects out of your phone camera, which might be worth looking into.
oh wow, @Ipledreamer you read my minds, that phone is on my list as my old samsung galaxy s7 is not bad of photos, but very fast battery dry, and im just thinking about huawei p 20 mobile phone :-) i saw reviews on youtube and that phone have good camera, long batery living and maybe this time i will be lucky with good smartphone :-)
As an update, I now have a Samsung s10+ and the camera is amazing. Currently I would avoid the 5G version, but definitely recommend it for the camera.
Go for Huawei P20 pro. I have it and the camera is sick!!! Really, it was nominated the phone with the best camera ever made. It has Leica lenses and the camera software has lots of professional features.
I have Sony Xperia XZ Premium and this phone is really cool. I'm really happy with the quality, especially when I'm trying to make a photo of something in color. Pictures are always full of colors and I never had any kind of problem with the light. Maybe my post will be usefull for someone here.
Yeah, I don't think I would recommend my phone: iPhone XS but I guess it's better than nothing. I just like it as a phone better than Android. This photo is taken with my phone:
Spoiler: Photo taken with LG v30 ThinQ Cherry, Pansy, Usako by Megan Morris, on Flickr It's an okay camera... I use LINE Camera to edit the photo.
I am using my pixel 3 for doll photography as well, I think depends on the size of your doll, in general, I feel avoiding taking the picture with intense light helps a lot attached 1 example of the indoor picture I took via my pixel 3. Hope it helps
since i edit most of my photos in photoshop . i took with normal xiaomi phone . is not super but for the phone i use . i can't complain .
I vouch for Huawei!!! It's camera is phenomenal. Am also on a p20 which I'd recommend over P30 just because it makes so much more sense budget wise. Every time a slightly better newer model releases, the previous model gets a hefty discount and that's awesome ~ If you're not constrained by $$ then P30 is no doubt a good choice, but… getting a mid range phone and a proper camera may work better at that price range? Just my 2 cents ahaha
I would recommend the Samsung s9. I have a Samsung galaxy s8 and the camera is pretty good, but S9 has sooooo nice camera I am thinking about getting it for myself at some point.
