    2. this church is open to the public (there were some tourists including a little girl and her parents who came by and asked about our dolls with interest when my friends and i went there for this photoshoot), although we had to obtain special permission to take photos in the church.

photo taken by me - the doll belongs to my friend vicky (pichu10176)

    7. We go out all the time! Though, usually the larger resins hang out at home. First off, they're heavy and take longer to pose. Secondly, they're heavy. Also, it's harder to tuck them away in my camera bag. But they have been out with me many times before Alegro came! Then he got spoiled...

He visited the Biltmore Estate in Asheville, NC.

      He's flown in an airplane!

He likes to go shopping in unusual shops with me.

He visited the Liberty Bell in Philadelphia.

And he's been to the beach on numerous occasions.

I love going out with my dolls! For those that have anxiety about it, don't sweat it. I've been spoken to by very rude people about my hobby, and I promise you I've gotten the strangest looks. But you know, you'll never ever ever see any of those people again. So who cares what they think? Enjoy every moment of every day with the things you love most!

    9. It is definitely less intimidating to go out with someone else to photograph. People may look or not, but I do get self-conscious if I'm alone. It is true that I likely will not see these people again, so I really need to get over it and enjoy myself. I guess it's just worse if you're in a really crowded place. The other nice thing about going in a group is dollie interactions are intriguing :)

People usually ask questions. in the meeting in utrecht there came some people who did a game and had to make silly pictures and asked to make a picture with a doll and we agreed. so we gave him a SD and he asks "how much do these dolls cost?" the look on his face was so funny when we told him he was holding 800 euros

    14. Kinda can't understand why I didn't post this lol... technically all our club meets are in a 'public' place'... usually a pedway in a local university... but this summer we went to the local museum. They had the most nifty "virtual" koi pond! When you walked through it the fish reacted and the water rippled where you steped... the 'kids' had a lot of fun LOL

This is a new link to my 'Flickr' where most of the pictures have gone. Technically our meets are in public places (usually a seating area in a university here). The last one was at a comon room for that schools dorms so sorta still counts?) Anywho updated link to meets set.

    17. I have come to reaize how jealous I am of all of you who live in places where 'castles' and giant historic things like cathedrals are in such picturesque settings... :| The only places like that (that I can get to with my mobility issues) are in 'not a scrap of green in the vicinity' locations. Or on school ground (picture taking in kiddie frequented areas now makes you look suspicious anymore -_-) Otherwise there are at least 3 great old schools here. Or worse... amazing homes that would make great settings... but of course... pics of dolls on strangers yards??? would not go over well lol...

    26. I have taken all my outdoor photos in public places - on the nearby forest where dof owners like to go with their pets. Anyway, while I was doing photoshoot for AiA part 2, local husky owner almost literally run into me and dolls. His dog would have liked to meet the girls more, but the owner thought that it would be better keep the doggies away - he was clearly baffled why there was female with to dolls and camera swearing the hell out of the dolls. (I had some posing problems with girls.) So - strange looks were given plenty.

    27. I've taken Rin all over the place, and had to answer a lot of questions about him. Most people seem able to accept that it's a fun way to document a trip without having to be in the photos yourself. Once in a while someone's really interested and wants to know more about him. Interestingly, kids never seem to ask questions, they just sometimes stop and stare.

    31. 90% of my doll pix are taken on our tabletop where I have control of
the setting, the posing and the lighting. Still it is great fun to get the
kids out into the real world. Occasionally I get strange looks like why's
that old guy playing with a doll but Carol is usually with me so they may
      think they're hers; anyway....

David came with me to the Great Oregon Steam Up:

Vicki rode back East with us. Here she is at Carol's aunt's in Huntsburg, Ohio.
