Normally you do get looks from passers-by, but when you're in a group they're far easier to ignore. I only took Ilú out by myself once or twice when I was in Kyoto - in a few of these pics you can see people in the background looking, but they tended to be very polite and curious if they did come over to ask:

Our waitress plopped my salad down right in front of her. I am amazed Catsy did not fall over at that. (Litteraly, she is a horrible poser in those boots of hers!)

I love bringing my dolls out, but only thing is I can never find enough time to do it! T___T I'm not really bothered with other people's reactions to them, and so far, I've only had curious (but intent!) looks, or one or two people coming up to ask about the dolls. I'm waiting for my first SD sized boy's body to arrive cos I cannot wait to head out for photos with him!

I love bringing my boys out too! But nowadays it's not as frequent as i would like though. We do attract curious stares and sometimes strangers would come up to ask some harmless questions. The boys are quite cool with that ^^

there was a meet up at the local botanical gardens and apparently it was also "come out all brides for pictures" day as well. Needless to say the dollies were curious.



Then Saejima and I took Lera and Rion to Quiznos. Now there we got some looks, but they were from older people who didn't say anything and probably just chalked it up to a generational gap or something.

 

This weekend was actually the first time I've had my boys out in public X3 (Usually they're only in the bag when I going somewhere)
But this weekend it was a con, and my boys were out for display and poking 8D


(They were cosplaying L and Near from Death Note XD)

 

me and some friends (the ones with dolls =p) went to the zoo with our dolls
we got stares but those were mostly from teenagers (with the comments ofcourse -_-)but a lot of people came to us and we had nice reactions

Just had a meetup in London Hyde Park. Here we are interacting with the cops (someone told them we were causing a disturbance - taking pics in a public place how is that a disturbance).

 

Penelope went along on my most recent trip to DC.




She's also gone with me to a wedding (it scared the caterers a bit).


She also comes with me to work (I sell sewing machines and mostly sew all day at work), which gets quite a bit of comment. But I don't have pictures of that.

Nearly every photoshoot I do is in public. I have some from a fireman's memorial, some from a rose garden, and some of downtown Reno. . . Here's one from the rose garden in Reno.

 

I try to convince my mom taking them out is normal. But she says she never sees photos of anyone's dolls out of the house. I must show her this thread. I also have stuff to contribute.

Earlier this year my best friend and I made a trip outside with two of our boys. It was my Akira's first time being able to play outside and he were very proud to have scared a poor woman when buying some ice cream; he sat there in my hand bag staring at her until she all pale faced left in a hurry. Perhaps she were scared of clowns... O_o;

Finally he found another child to play with, but...

 

Kit went to london for her first birthday.

 

I had Ghost with me when I met my friend Alithegreat at the local pumpkin patch. It's NorCal, and a family place, so the mothers were all smiling and pointing at our dolls for their kids to see. It was really cute. Seems like everyone is cool with weird stuff up here.
Ghost climbed a dying sunflower stalk to scope out the best pun'kins.

And I just sort of expected zombies or Patient Demons to lurch out of the fog at us at this point....

And we got a lot of great looks at the beach last summer, when Ghost and Fagan (not pictured) were riding my friend's salmon run. I'm not sure if the amused grins were for the fish, or the fish rider, though....

 

I don't take my dolls out much because I feel a little uncomfortable doing so but after seeing this thread I think I might try a park photoshoot after they get their new clothes and Adonis gets his wig.

The pictures were taken on the light rail, I also went to the mall with him having to take a bus to get home but I didn't get any pictures there because it started to rain.

During one of the meets, I had to walk from the library to the cafe, and noticed a memorial in the sidewalk. Well, I thought it was really cool actually. So on the way back to the library, me and Sera stopped and I had her take a pic with it.
One of these days I shall go back and get a much better version.

 

At spooky empires scream fest we went to perkins! The manager actually asked where I got him because he wanted to get one for his teenage daughter. It was awesome!

i've brought him to resturaunts too and i ALWAYS bring him out grocery shopping with me. OH the looks33 XD and little girls going MOMMEH HUR DOLLLL xDD so cute... I feel like i should bring him out way more.. xP

 

I've taken Avalon out a few places. She's been to Dollywood, Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Centennial Park in Nashville, the Tennessee Renaissance Festival, a city park in my hometown, Joann's, and to work with me. I got Mote on Monday, and she's already been to my work and out to eat. I'm probably going to take them both out to Cheekwood botanical gardens tomorrow.

I haven't noticed any really strange looks when I've taken my dolls out, and all the comments I've gotten have been very nice. A lot of people have complimented me on my dolls, and I've even had quite a few people ask me if I made them! Nobody has even said, "Bless your heart," to me, which is how a good Southern lady will tell you that you're insane. (Of course, "Bless your heart," can mean pretty much anything a good Southern lady wants it to, from "you poor, sweet thing" to "you're a waste of oxygen".)

 

Oh man, I'm notorious for taking my dolls everywhere. The dentist ladies can tell the boys apart, and the bead store ladies can remember half of their names. ^^;

My dolls don't get to go out very often because my daughter takes precedence over my dolls going out in public. But I did get to take Theophilus to Toys R Us once.

Siren and I went to the Freer gallery on a class trip this past spring. She had a great time, and bragged to my other dolls that she got to go and they didn't.

I've only taken a few of my dolls out for a mini-meet at Olbrich Botanical Gardens in Madison, Wisconsin. So the pics don't look all that different than if I took them in my yard, but it was fun.
