Looks like there's a flash flood warning for me all of Friday and Saturday, but if NJTransit's not underwater I will be there on Saturday!

 

Arriving tomorrow for the meetup, can’t wait to see everyone.

 

I'm going to have to skip this one because I'm still working on packing for my move next week. I hope to make the early August one and see a few of y'all at Resin Rose too!

 

You will be missed. However, it is important to have a good and uneventful move. I will see you Resin Rose.

I cannot do this until Summer is over and I can move around easier but I really want to do a meetup soon. I finally have dolls I can bring to show off and a lot of extra clothes and stuff. Right now this heat is just beating me up.

I check here though to see and one of these days I'm going to be at one. .

 

I'm going to bow out of this month's meet. I don't want to risk getting stuck on an NJ Transit train.

 

I unfortunately will not be able to make it today. I was unable to obtain a parking pass.

 

I'm tentatively planning on coming to the one in Oct. Just an FYI. I'm just working out the details of how to get there from the UWS via bus. I'm thinking I'll just take the bus up to Columbus Circle and walk over? Hopefully it will be a nice day and there will be lots of colorful leaves happening by then.

 

I've walked to the meet from Columbus Circle after getting off the subway. It's definitely doable.

Hello! I'm a super newbie (I just got my first doll aaahh!!) and I've been searching and hunting to find anything on the east coast! I'm so excited that I found this and I'd love to go to the october meetup, but I'm not super socialized and I've never been to meetups or anything before ;-; I'm wondering what the vibes are like, and what the "rules" are and if there's anything I should know or research before I appear.... any advice is very much appreciated

Stop by with a doll and talk about whatever with fellow doll people. It's really casual, and it's a good time. I'd say the first post covers the rules pretty well. Also, it's generally look but don't touch without asking first, but people are generally happy to let you hold their dolls if you ask first, so go ahead and ask. Hopefully it won't be scary to you at all, but if it is, it'll become less scary pretty fast.

Welcome to the NYC BJD meet up. We are very laid back and friendly. You only need to bring yourself and a smile. The people in this group are a bit chatty most of the time. You will be welcomed with open arms. we love to hear stories about your little one. So be ready to smile, laugh and share your inspiration with all of us.

BTW: I come into PABT (bus terminal) and others come into Penn station or Grand Central station. So if you are unsure of how to get to the meet place anyone of us will be happy to meet with you and show you the way. Looking forward to seeing you soon and hearing all about your little one.

Usually, we get together for dinner afterwards if you would like to join us before heading back home.

From the 2 times I went to this meetup, everyone is very friendly. It was quite fun even if your not super socialized, I'm the exact same too. The second time going to the meetup, I was invited to talk to a group of people about random stuff . I only started going to these but I'm sure the only rules is general being respectful and such things.

Sometimes there are people who are selling doll related items like clothes or jewelry, great for your dollies if interested.

What is the address

 

The address is in Minty's writeup. It is 550 Madison Avenue. Which is formerly known as the Sony Tower, Sony Plaza, and AT&T Building. It is basically across the street from Trump Tower (IBM building) on the south side. See you all tomorrow. I will be in NYC early getting my senior discount card for the subway. I will be taking my credentials to 42nd street and Time Square. I will be available to help anybody out if necessary.

 

I'm on the bus heading into NYC. I'll arrive about 0830. I have some business in Time Square. I'll be monitoring here if anyone needs help.

Hello all, I'm looking forward to next weekend. Everyone will get a present. I have adopted the final lady I have been looking for several years.

 

Just double checking, the meetup next weekend is at the IBM as usual, right? :]

 

EDIT: Actually, now I'm not sure either. But you'll be within one block of being correct either way.

I've never been to the other location one block south since the remodel. It looks like it's totally outdoors now from what I can see on Google street view. Is that true?

 

Hello, the meet up is NOT in the IBM building atrium. It is across the street on the south side of 56th street. It is in the atrium at 550 Madison Avenue, across the street from the IBM Space that we used to go to. It is the remodeled section which is a glass enclosed. You can access the atrium from both 55th street and 56th street and it is just a few steps west of Madison Avenue.

If anybody has any issues with finding the atrium, you can give any of us a call or let us know right here on DoA.

And along with the presents for everybody, I have a special gift for the guy that brings the fighting tops.
